Starting off strong with the Temerian Armor, you only need to be at a measly level four to acquire it. You can purchase this set from the same merchant you saved from the griffin in the beginning of the game. The merchant is located near Woesong Bridge in White Orchard.

The only drawback with the Temerian Armor is the large sum of money you need to have in order to purchase it, but once you have the funds you’ll have a beginner’s armor set with extra heavy resistance to all types of attacks such as piercing, bludgeoning, and slashing. Though the set only requires a level four, it has a value of 91, making it the perfect set for Witcher 3 noobs.

Use Aard to break through one of the ruined walls that leads into a tunnel. Poisonous gas is your next foe, and you can combat this by doing one of three things: Use a potion to immune yourself to the gas, use Igni or Aard to disperse the smoke, or just say “yolo” and run through it as fast as you can. At the end of the tunnel, use Aard to smash through the rocks.

Use your Witcher senses to scour the paper strewn walls and you’ll come across the diagram for the Manticore armor. A fantastic perk to this armor is that its primary strength is alchemy, raising Geralt’s toxicity level by 30 while also increasing the strength of your bombs.

The New Moon Armor has a decently high intensity increase in all the attacks that matter: bludgeoning, critical hits, and slashing. It also has a perk where you can attain 10% bonus gold for every foe you kill. Essentially, you get paid to kill.

It can be a bit tedious to find, but the Ofieri Armor is great to equip Geralt with when you’re mid-game. This armor excels in sign intensity, boosting Quen, Yrden, and Axii. This is a plus if you’re an avid wielder of signs and like to incorporate their benefits during battle.

Jump through the portal and you will appear below the tower where you can kill off the enemies waiting for you and loot the diagram from a nearby skeleton.

The Wolven Armor is a great medium armor. It’s versatile and has strengths in every facet, making it perfect for the players who enjoy mixing up their combat style.

To find the Hen Gaidth armor, you must choose to go after the Unseen Elder in the “What Lies Unseen” quest. The elder’s lair is located in Toussaint in a cave. When you arrive at the cave, make your way through, killing foes and looting gear along the way until you get the chance to slide down a stone wall. You’ll come to a tower and at the base of the tower is a chest containing the armor diagram.

What sets the Hen Gaidth armor apart from the others is its unique ability for its host to gain vitality just for killing opponents. Every time you slay an enemy, the vitality you heal back is 1% per armor piece, and with a set of six pieces you can gain up to 6% vitality.

If you’re a fenline fanatic with a drive for quick attacks, the Feline Armor is what you’re looking for. Head down the road and along the cliffside located behind the tower on Novigrad’s Temple Isle. Disable the illusion with Keira Metz’s amulet and enter a cavern where you’re going to dispatch a Golem.

Afterwards, make your way up to the net chamber and fight off the wraiths that appear out of thin air. Rotate the statues that appear in the chamber so they are facing inwards and the floor will open to reveal - you guessed it - drowners. Once you kill the drowners, swim to the bottom of the cavern to acquire the laboratory key from the skeleton.

When you enter the laboratory, you’ll face off with a rogue Witcher named Mad Kiyan. Defeat the crazed man and loot his corpse that is carrying the diagram for the Feline Armor.

This is hands down some of my favorite armor because it makes dodging attacks so much smoother. It’s light armor that focuses on speed and stamina rather than brute strength, making for fast and nimble attacks just like a feline.

I can’t stress how important Quen is during combat. Not only will it save you each and every time from a critical blow, it’s going to keep you alive a lot longer when you’re facing those strong bosses.

There really isn’t one best “One Size Fits All” armor set in the game. However, in this article, we will explore the armor sets that are best suited for a player’s chosen class. 5.) The Cerberus Armor (The All-Rounder)

“Now wait a minute…? I thought you said there weren’t a ‘One Size Fits All’ armor?” And you heard me right. However, it should be noted that this armor really is the best bet for any player who wants to go the generic route.

Therefore, it isn’t the best armor out there nor is it an armor that can fulfill a player’s every need. Still, this armor works very well as a plan B alternative. In other words, The Cerberus Armor can be useful for a player needing decent armor in the meantime as they search for something more suited to their playstyle.

The armor offers a +10% bonus in Ammo Capacity, +20% bonus in Weapon Damage, a +10% bonus to Shields, and a +20% bonus in Health. This may be more suited for the more combative classes, but the added shield and health stats bonuses provide enough for most classes to get by. So, if you are looking to buy armor as soon as you possibly can then this is the one for you.

4.) The Inferno Armor (The Power Booster)

While there is an armor that is more fitting for ALL Support classes, this armor is a good option for players who have chosen a class that is dependent on their class abilities as opposed to their weapons. For classes such as the Adept and Sentinel, The Inferno Armor will aid these seemingly defenseless players to make up for the lack of defense with an overwhelming and unrelenting Biotic offense.

Specifically, this armor set equips players with a +30% bonus in Power Recharge Speed and an equal +30% bonus in Power Damage. This, however, comes with a tradeoff. By choosing an explosive offense over defense, the player is bound to become more vulnerable.

This is why this armor will also be best suited for The Sentinel. A support class much like the Adept, the Sentinel’s Tech Armor ability gives them an added buffer for the armor’s lack of defensive perks. So, for players who don’t prefer playing close to the chest, this pairing may suit them.

Recognizable in aesthetic from the main antagonists in Mass Effect 2, The Collector Armor is for the more aggressive players. Primarily for the Soldier and Vanguard-class, this armor will keep players from taking too much damage when in the heat of battle. Unless if you prefer being decorated with bullet holes.

More than any armor set, The Collector Armor gives players a +20% bonus to Shields, Shield Generation, and Health. Giving players a lot of wiggle room as they move around the battlefield obliterating Reaper minions. However, that is the only real benefit and downfall for this armor.

Vanguards won’t get any bonuses for their biotic abilities, and Soldiers suffer a similar loss when it comes to Weapon Damage. However, this armor doesn’t serve any other class better than these two. So, as attractive as other options may be, understand that The Collector Armor will allow those with a thirst for combat to revel in as much carnage as much as they desire.

While resembling the style of BioWare’s other famous IP, Dragon Age, this armor is the perfect choice for every support class. Sentinels, Adepts, and Engineers alike will benefit from what this armor has to offer. Plus, it also happens to be the coolest-looking armor in the game.

While The Inferno Armor offered only power bonuses, this armor does that and then some. Players will gain a +10% bonus in Power Recharge Speed, a +30% bonus in Power Damage, and a +20% bonus to Shields. Giving support classes not only offensive benefits but also a defensive bonus.

This armor is the most versatile armor in Mass Effect 3 as it benefits half of the classes in the game. However, it only pairs well with the three support classes. Until now, you have read about armors that suit just about every class except for one, The Infiltrator. The reason for that is that more than the others, this class is more specialized. Therefore, there isn’t a particular full set of armor that benefits this class. Neither customizable nor non-customizable. So, the best option is to mix and match different sets, and here’s the best match.

The Kwashii Visor gives a +5% bonus in Weapon Damage and a +10% bonus in Headshot Damage. The Armax Arsenal pieces each give a +5% bonus in Weapon Damage and a +10% bonus in Melee Damage. The Hahne Kedar pieces each give a +10% bonus in Weapon Damage. Resulting in a total of +35% bonus in Weapon Damage, a +20% bonus in Melee Damage, and a +10% bonus in Headshot Damage.

This gives the Infiltrator class the room to do what it does best: deal damage. This can be supremely helpful in really tough fights, as dodging attacks for just a few seconds can provide you with enough time to build your health back up if you’ve run out of your own healing components. It also provides a free way of refilling Aloy’s health after a battle is done, without using up all of your carefully collected medicine.

Why It’s Great:

Heals Aloy over time, making it extremely useful in saving medicine and healing up when in a bind.

How to Get?

The Werak Runner outfit, which has health healing abilities but no modification slots, can be bought from merchants in The Cut for x1000 Metal Shards, 10x Desert Glass, and 10x Slagshine Glass.
The Werak Chieftan outfit, which has modification slots allowing for increased damage resistance can be obtained through the Frozen Wilds quest ‘For the Werak’. After this point, it can be purchased from merchants in The Cut for x2200 Metal Shards, 1x Squirrel Skin, x1 Goat Skin, and x1 Badger Skin.
The Werak Chieftan Adept* version of this is attained when completing ‘For the Werak’ in New Game+, and can then be purchased from merchants in The Cut for x4,400 Metal Shards, x2 Squirrel Skin, x2 Goat Skin, and x2 Badger Skin.

1. Shield Weaver

The Shield Weaver armor is by far the most protective armor in the game. While unobtainable until near the end of your first playthrough, it is without a doubt the best armor to protect you against end-game enemies and on through your second or third playthrough in new game plus. This armor, while providing no base stats for protection, is equipped with a ‘shield’ that protects Aloy’s health completely while it is charged. When the shield is depleted it takes about 15 seconds to recharge, but it’s quick enough that with adequate dodging it won’t hinder the protection this armor provides.

Why It’s Great:

Adds a 500hp shield to Aloy’s health bar, preventing her from taking any damage while the shield is active

How to Get?

The Shield Weaver Armor can be obtained through completion of the ‘Ancient Armory’ side quest, which requires you to locate five power cells around the world. All five power cells can be easily obtained during the game's main quest line, with minimal detours to get to the cells.

Whether traveling through the hills of the Sacred Lands or the deserts of the Sundom, Aloy’s armor will have a huge impact on the level of difficulty in facing off against the largest machines. The Shield Weaver armor should always be the end goal, but with the help of some of the other armor options on this list, getting through your first playthrough will be a breeze.

*Adept armor is only attainable in New Game+, and replaces the Heavy variant in the merchant’s shop.

It’s important to note that not all of these will be fit for your environment, overheating or freezing can happen pretty easilyeasily. Pay close attention depending on what biome you are in if you’re choosing to use heavy armor.

5. Cloth Armor

Cloth armor is easily crafted and will definitely makemake a difference, although it is not as protective as the rest of the armor combinations. It is light enough to save you stamina while sprinting and great for warmer temperatures.

Cloth Head Armor, Shoes, Gloves, Hat, Leg Armor and Chest Armor- To craft, you will need 5x cloth and 1x duct tape for each item. With each piece individually having a durability from 150-300 and effect resistance 2%, it’s a cheap and easy option for armor.

In total, with the full combination of cloth armor, effect resistance is 10%.
It will provide 20-30% damage reduction.
It’s a great option when you’re in a pinch with little supplies to work with.

4. Leather Armor

Leather armor is great for freezing cold biomes- it has great insulating capabilities. This type of armor combination will not only keep you well protected, but warm, too.

Leather Hood, Leather Chest Armor, Boots, Duster, Gloves, Hood, Leg Armor, and Leather Poncho- Each item is easily crafted with 7x leather and 1x duct tape. Each item on their own has a durability of 225-450 and an effect resistance of 4%. You must attain a level 2 hammer and forge perk before crafting.

When all items of the leather armor are used together, effect resistance is near 20%.
Damage reduction equals out to 40-60%.
Leather armor is ideal for freezing temperatures.

3. Iron Armor

You will be able to take a lot of hits with this armor. Iron is reliable and will decrease concussive and puncture damage.

Each iron armor item has no cold weather protection or water proof protection.

Iron Helmet, Boots, Gloves, and Leg Armor- Concussive protection is 26-65%. This item can be crafted with 20x forged iron and 3x leather.

Iron Chest Armor- Puncture protection is 24-60%. This item can be crafted with 30x forged iron and 5x leather.

The complete combination includes: Iron Boots, Chest Armor, Gloves, Helmet, and Leg Armor.

This armor can be used in warmer conditions with less risk of overheating.
Effect resistance is 30% with 50-70% damage reduction when used as a combination.

2. Military Armor

Military armor is typically found as just random spawns. You are most likely to get a full combination set at a military base.

Each item can be bought from traders or collected from Fallen Soldier zombies. The military gear can also be crafted, using military fibers- typically dropped by lumberjacks.

Military Helmet, Vest, Boots, Gloves, and Leg Armor- Each item can be crafted with 12x military fibers and 3x leather. Durability is 600-1000 and effect resistance is 6%.

When the military armor is used as a combination, effect resistance is 30%
Damage reduction will be 50-70%.
Military armor is a little harder to find, but well worth the hunt, as it will provide fantastic defense.

1.Steel Armor

Collecting high quality steel to craft the steel armor combination

The steel armor set is a great choice and looks very medieval. Used in full combination with the highest quality of steel it has shown to have a concussive protectiveness of 65% and puncture protectiveness of 60%. Steel armor is arguably the best armor combination you can attain.

Steel Helmet, Chest Armor, Boots, Gloves, and Leg Armor- Each steel armor item has a durability of 500-1000 and effect resistance of 9% on their own. Each item can be crafted with 24x forged steel and 4x leather. A total of 120x forged iron and 19x leather is needed to craft a full set.

Used in combination the effect resistance is 45%.
60-85% damage reduction.
High quality steel will last you a long time without needing to repair.
