10. G7 Scout

One of the most reliable and easy-to-use longer-range guns in Apex Legends has to be the G7 Scout. Long-range is the hardest way to play in Apex, but this gun makes it relatively easy. The recoil on this thing is non-existent, its damage profile is super forgiving at range, and have you heard this thing fire? It sounds great.

For beginners getting used to longer-range engagements, the Scout is fantastic because of its magazine size and fire rate. Most long-range guns in Apex are slow to fire and short on ammo, but the scout is neither of these. It's the spammiest rifle in the game, fantastic for newbies learning the ropes. Make sure to get a long-range scope on this thing, the highest-tier sniper stock you can, and as much light ammo as you can carry. Start spamming.

Why the G7 Scout is great:

High fire rate so if you're missing shots its quite forgiving.
Decently high damage, so when you are hitting shots you know you're dealing good damage.
The attachments on this thing are fantastic for longer-range fights as you can get a decently long-range sight.

9. Spitfire LMG

The Spitfire LMG has gone through a lot of changes in its time, but currently, as of season 16, it's a pretty easy gun to use. Yeah, it's not the best gun in the game, but if you just need to pick it up and spray some bullets, then it's fantastic. The Spitfire has a massive magazine that only gets bigger with attachments and of course Rampart’s passive if you play her. It can outlive anything in the game, so you can keep firing even if your opponent is mid-reload.

The reason why the Spitfire is so good for newer players is its recoil pattern is relatively easy to control and its magazine size. No matter how good you can aim in other games, Apex is harder because of people’s movement. If you find yourself missing a lot, then the Spitfire is for you. Just spray and pray with this thing in your hands, good luck.

Why the Spitfire LGM is great:

Even without a magazine equipped, this gun has so much ammo it's hard to not at least hit a few
If you find yourself missing shots in a fight, the spitfire allows you to keep firing even when your opponents need to stop and reload.
It might not have the fastest time to kill in the game, but its consistent fire puts a lot of pressure on your opponents.
The gun is super common, now that it uses light ammo, so you shouldn't have a shortage of bullets in your inventory.

8. Eva-8 Auto

The only shotgun to make a beginner list like this, and it's for good reason. The other three shotguns are much harder to use or just downright terrible, and the Eva sits right in the middle. Unlike the Peacekeeper, this gun is a spam fire shotty. No need to pump it like a pump action or load it like the Mastiff, this gun just keeps firing and putting out some good damage.

The Eva is fantastic for newer players mainly because of its fire rate. As you get better attachments on this gun, it almost becomes an SMG of sorts. The fire rate is super fast, high-damage shots come out of the barrel and it's really easy to use. You can unleash the entire clip on someone and they should die.

Equipping the double tap hop-up also allows you to fire two bullets with one trigger pull. It's a little weird to use with that attached, but if you get used to it the Eva becomes even more of a beast.

Why the Eva-8 Auto is great:

The gun has a super high fire rate for a shotgun and pumps out some good damage.
You can shred through enemies whilst firing from the hip, giving you more movement than others.
Though it doesn't have the pop shot ability of a PK or Mastiff, the Eva provides constant fire when people don't expect it.

7. Hemlock Burst AR

Currently, the Hemlock is in the care package, but that doesn't make it any less of a fantastic beginner gun for you newbies out there. The Hemlock is one of the only burst-fire guns in Apex, making it a little weird to use sometimes. However, for ease of use, we advise turning the gun to single-fire mode and using it like a G7 scout with a faster fire rate.

With this, each bullet is going to deal 23 damage and you can surprise your enemies with how fast it fires. Just like any other beginner gun, the Hemlock is easy to use, has no recoil at all and already comes fully kitted with attachments thanks to it being a care package gun right now.

Why the Hemlock is great:

Now that it's a care package gun, the Hemlock is quite powerful. Dealing lots of damage per shot and having all attachments already on it.
It's much more versatile than the G7 Scout as it's decent at closer ranges.
The hemlock’s burst mode also packs a huge punch if you can land those headshots.

6. Rampage LMG

Another LMG makes this list, and it's a big hitter. Ever since the Rampage launched, it's been slept on. People find it bad and sometimes hard to use, however, it's the opposite. Just like any gun in Apex, they get better the more attachments you get on them. From a sight, to a barrel mod, they get easier to use and better overall.

The Rampage isn't any different, as it gets even better the more stuff you have on it, but it's got a secret. Using a thermite makes the Rampage even better than before. It increases its already great fire rate and allows it to break doors with a few hits. The Rampage is great for beginners as it teaches them about longer-range guns that have multiple uses.

The rampage has no recoil, fires relatively fast and has good damage. This thing also has infinite ammo in its mag when playing Rampart or using a higher-tier magazine. It's just easy to use and fantastic on the battleground. What a monster.

Why the Rampage is great:

The gun has no recoil at all, so it's great to get used to longer-range fights with.
The thermite grenade makes this gun 10x better, turning it into a mini flatline that can break doors.
The magazine size is great for newer players as you can just keep firing and never need to reload for the most part.

5. CAR SMG

One of the latest guns to enter the Apex games is the CAR SMG, and it's still fantastic. Apex did slow down on introducing guns to the game, but even many seasons after the CAR launched it is still one of the most used guns in the game.

There’s some good reason for it being used so much, this gun is insanely powerful. The high fire rate, high damage and low recoil make the CAR a fantastic gun for anyone, especially beginners. The thing is though, the best part about the CAR is its special ammo facilities.

Though the gun drops as a Heavy weapon, the CAR can also take light ammo and light attachments. This is fantastic for newer players and anyone really, as it's super reliable no matter what part of the game you're in. Somebody's gonna have ammo or attachments for you, it's just that reliable.

Why the CAR is great:

The CAR SMG is reliable at any point of the game because it can take light and heavy ammo, meaning it's easy to find some ammo for it.
The same goes for attachments, as you can use a light or heavy mag in this thing.
If you're getting better at the game, The CAR can also be used as a step before an R-99, carrying its attachments.

4. Volt SMG

One of the easiest and most powerful guns to use in Apex Legends has to be the Volt right? This gun was already fantastic before season 16, but with the introduction of the Nemesis AR, it's even better. Energy Ammo used to be hard to come across due to the limited energy guns in the game.

However, because of the Nemesis, more energy is dropping. This makes the Volt even more reliable than it was before. The Volt is a fantastic SMG that uses normal SMG attachments. It has no recoil, which is great for newer players. The gun itself is also super forgiving because of its high magazine size and middle-of-the-pack fire rate.

It's easy to just one clip people with a Volt as its fire rate is a little slow. The damage it does is great and overall it's just an easy gun to use. Definitely pick it up if you're getting used to Apex, it's better than ever.

Why the Volt is great:

Energy ammo is one of the most plentiful ammo types in the game right now, so you should never really run out.
The Volt carries usual SMG attachments so if you want to swap to an R-99 or an Alternator, it is really easy to do.
Finally, if you're using the Volt, the gun handles perfectly even without attachments. It's so easy to use.

3. Alternator SMG

The Alternator is the easiest-to-use SMG in Apex, by a long shot. The CAR might be the strongest per shot, the R-99 might have the fastest fire rate and the Volt might be the most consistent, but the Alternator is the easiest to use.

This is another light ammo gun and uses the normal SMG line of attachments. The alternator uses a twin barrel, giving it stable recoil and making it super good at short to medium range. It's a mini assault rifle at times. It's the cousin of the R-99, meaning you can easily just pick up an r-99 and use the same attachments.

It might have lower DPS, but its magazine size is massive. All of this makes the gun fantastic for newer players as it's just so forgiving and easy to use, seeing a trend here?

Its fire rate doesn't make you feel out of control, it's got a huge magazine and it does great damage, what more is there you want in a starter gun?

Why the Alternator is great:

The Alternator has no recoil at all, it just doesn't exist.
If you're wanting an SMG / Assault rifle hybrid then this is for you, as it does both jobs perfectly.
If you're a player who misses shots a lot of the time, then the alternator has a huge mag.

2. RE-45

Currently, the RE-45 is a care package weapon, but will be leaving in season 17, going back to floor loot. We don't know the changes just yet, but the RE-45 is still a great gun for newbies. The RE-45 is a light ammo pistol that takes all the usual pistol attachments, including the Disruptor Rounds in the care package.

With a golden sight equipped this gun becomes a monster. Its care package version might be the best secondary weapon in the light ammo category. It's super easy to use, having little to no recoil, great range and insane damage. Even without all of the care package buffs, when it's floor loot, don't dismiss the RE-45.

It's super easy to use and can pack a punch in close-quarters play. The magazine size isn't the greatest, but because of the ease of use this gun provides, we had to include it on the list.

Why the RE-45 is excellent:

Light ammo is still super plentiful, meaning it's hard to run out of ammo.
The gun has no recoil at all, so it's super easy to use for any player.
Whilst it's still in the care package, this gun shreds at medium to close range, do not dismiss it.

1. R-301

Now, this entire list we’ve spoken about how easy the guns are to use in Apex. The ones we haven't mentioned are much harder, but this final gun is by far the easiest gun in Apex and everyone should pick it up.

The R-301 is a staple of any loadout in Apex, throughout its entire history. This gun does it all, even after several Nerfs over the years. It's fantastic at long range because of its low recoil and fantastic damage.

Light ammo means it's easy to sustain over a game, it's got a pretty large magazine size thanks to the purple light magazine, and it can come in gold depending on the season. The main reason the R-301 is so good for beginners is that it fits into every loadout and fight, no matter what legend you're using.

Just because you can sit back as Rampart doesn't mean you need to use a Sniper, same with being close with Octane, you don't need a shotgun. The R-301 fits into all load-outs and is by far the best beginner weapon in Apex’s history, even to this day.

Why the R-301 is great:

Even with long-range attachments, this gun has no recoil and is super easy to beam people with.
It's fantastic for farming damage in a match as well, because of its damage per shot and overall DPS.
Light Ammo isn't hard to come across, so get spraying.
Finally, the 301 is super forgiving thanks to its magazine size of 28 with a purple mag.

25. Pick any legend you have, don't stress.

When loading into an Apex Legends match, you can select a legend. As you play the game, you will earn currency to purchase more legends, but all of the basic ones are great pics. Being new to the game, just select whoever looks the coolest to you, or which legend’s abilities catch your attention.

Since you're new, you shouldn't worry about which legend you play, just try them out and find one you like, don't stress.

How it works:

Hover over each legend you own to see what they look like.
You can also click on them to select them for that specific match.
You cannot swap legends in the middle of the match.

24. Knowing the abilities of each legend.

Each of the legends in the game has their own unique abilities, consisting of passive, tactical and ultimate. Learning what each legend does, even if you aren't going to play them, its fantastic to learn.

Knowing what they all do is a good piece of information as it will allow you to decide who to play, and know what you're up against. Make sure you hop into the firing range and check out each legend.

How it works:

You can do this in two areas of the game. One is whilst loading into a match. You can press right-click on your mouse whilst hovering over a legend to see their abilities.
Whilst in the main menu of the game, go to legends, click on a legend and then click the same button as before to see what each legend can do.

23. Launching out of the dropship.

Once you've decided on a legend, and booted into a match, deciding on where to land is the next step. Because of how many maps Apex has as of season 16, it's quite a daunting thing. If you've played any other battle royal in the past, then you know that some locations on the map are good, and others are bad.

If you're the jump master, then you direct your entire squad where to land, if not, you're at the mercy of your teammate’s decision. Either way, if you're learning Apex, don't worry about where to land just yet. Look around the map, and just land wherever you want.

How it works:

Pressing “R” launches your entire squad if you're the jump master.
Make sure to dive towards your location and allow the ship to get as close as possible before dropping.

22. Some Locations Have Better loot.

Now that you know how to drop out of the jump ship, it's time to learn about locations. No matter the map, locations vary in the quality of the loot they provide. You could land in an unnamed area, but most areas on the map have distinct names.

Apex tells you which locations have better loot than others by its rarity system. There are so many locations on each apex map, so take the time to check them all out and see which ones have the best loot.

How it works:

When you land in a named location, its name will pop up on the side of your screen,
Here it will notify you what type of loot is in the area.
Remember the Apex rarity system. White, Blue, Purple, Gold, Red.

21. Make sure to ping weapons for your team, as well as enemies.

Modern gaming has many ways for teammates to communicate with one another, even without a microphone. Apex pioneered the “ping” system in battle royal games as many games copied after its release.

This is fantastic for voiceless communication as you can show your teammates what loot is around and where enemies are on the map. For people who don't want to talk to their team but still give some information, it's a great thing to learn.

How it works:

In Apex, you can press the middle mouse button (Scroll Wheel) to ping items and enemies.
Press it multiple times to spam ping to directly show where enemies are as they move better.

20. Make sure your inventory isn't a mess.

It's easy to just go around and pick loot up randomly, even seasoned veteran players do that. However, you most likely won't need certain items in the game as they don't mesh with what guns you have.

If you've got an SMG and an Assault rifle, then don't be carrying a shotgun bolt. Yeah, you might want a shotgun later on in the game, but it's not worth the space if you have a white backpack. You can open your inventory and drop things from it that you don't need.

Remember to ping the items as your teammates might want them.

How it works:

Press I whilst in an Apex match to access your inventory. Here drag and drop items either to the left or right of the screen.

19. Items are colour coded in terms of rarity and ammo types

Just like many other battle royale games, Apex’s loot is separated into rarity and ammo types. First, we have loot. Loot is separated from White to Blue, to Purple, To Gold and then to Red. Gold and Red are very similar and don't exactly progress as the other three do.

Just know that if you see something gold or red, it's a good item to pick up. Then we have ammo types, which are colour coded. Light Blue is Heavy, Orange is Light, Dark Blue is Sniper, Red is Shotgun, Green is energy and Yellow is Arrows.

How it works:

In your inventory check the bottom right of each gun, here you will see what ammo it takes.
In terms of loot, white is the worst, blue is better, purple is even better, gold is rare and Red is perfect.

18. Make sure you pick up the right kind of Ammo.

Sometimes newer players get a little overwhelmed with the way ammo works in Apex, so here is another way to make sure you can find the correct stuff. When roaming through Kings Canyon, World’s Edge, Olympus or any other Apex Legends map, check what the little gun symbol looks like on Ammo. If you need that ammo, your gun will pop up on that little notification. It's a great way to get used to what each gun needs to get going.

How it works:

Look at the ammo on the floor, and check for the small gun symbol.
If it matches the symbol in the bottom right of your screen, then it's the correct ammo.

17. Loot Ticks, Supply Drops

Speaking of loot, another important aspect of Apex Legends is Loot Ticks and Supply Drops. You should already know about the loot on the floor, and the ones in bins, but there are more ways to get better loot.

Throughout each apex map are Loot Ticks. Little rare robots that look like Apex Packs. Shoot or punch these things to get some good loot from them. They come in Purple and Gold rarity, seen by the lights on their bodies. Supply drops will make a very distinct sound in the match, and come down at select intervals.

Look for a white beam in the sky and head towards it. These can give you purple loot, Gold items or even Red guns, known as care package weapons. They are incredibly powerful items so look out for them.

How it works:

If you're a Skirmisher Legend, then you can see where care packages are going to spawn and what is inside of them.
Loot Ticks make a little sound when you're near them.

16. Crafters and Vaults.

Similarly to Loot Ticks and Supply Drops, next we have Vaults and the Crafters around the maps. Vaults are only available on World’s Edge and require a keycard to get into. Whilst around the map, you will see drones flying in the air.

If they have a small red flashing light, then shoot it down for a key. These vaults have higher-tier loot in them. Crafters are on every map and are used to craft ammo, meds and specific items depending on the day. These are fantastic for gearing up and getting into battle.

How it works:

Vaults can be spotted on your map once you're holding a key.
Head to one and hold interact on the door to get your loot.
Loba can also steal items from a vault without a key, but only one item as it will break her Black Market.
Crafters require crafting materials, which are around crafters on your map and also passively acquired through opening pills.

15. Damage is colour coded depending on the player’s armour level.

When shooting an enemy in Apex, the game gives you some great information. From how much damage you have dealt to that player, to what armour they are wearing. Each armour is colour coded. White, Blue, Purple, Gold and Red.

When shooting an enemy, you know what armour they're wearing because the damage numbers will correlate to that colour. It's great information for your team and teaches newer players about how important armour is.

How it works:

When you shoot an enemy, look at what colour the damage is. If it's purple, they have Purple armour and so on.

14. Put away your gun to run faster.

It might sound a little dumb and counterintuitive, but putting your gun away in Apex actually increases your movement speed. The game is quite fast-paced already, and this makes it even better.

Remember, your pull-out speed from stopping running to shooting is the same as pressing 3 to pull the gun back out after running. So there is no real downside to this. Just remember to bring your gun out when you need it.

How it works:

Press 3 on PC to holster your gun. This will bring up your hands, or Heirloom if you've been lucky.
Now run faster around the maps.

13. Sliding is key.

One of the basic movement techniques in Apex Legends is the sliding mechanic. It's super essential to get better at the game as sliding can get you out of some seriously bad situations. I mean, have you been in a situation where you get caught off guard in Apex?

Yeah, I assumed you have. Third partying is a massive part of Apex, and sliding can get you into cover quicker and allow you to fight back. Sliding is even good when chasing down a foe, as it keeps your momentum and speeds you up a bit.

How it works:

Hold “C” or “Left Ctrl” to slide.
Do this whilst running to get the best results.
Also, use this with your weapon holstered.

12. Apex has no fall damage.

Yeah, Apex Legends have no fall damage, unlike Fortnite and even Warzone. Though this might seem a little easy mode to some, it's built into the game perfectly. Buildings are meant to be climbed and jumped off of for movement and pushing fights.

Apex does not limit its players in that way, making it super smooth overall. Take risks in Apex. Just remember, if you fall from a high enough place, you will get stunned, and you can't move quickly or shoot instantly.

How it works:

Find any area on the map and just jump off into fights, to get loot or to get a better position.

11. Friendly Fire isn't a thing.

Just like no fall damage, there isn't any friendly fire damage either. This means if you accidentally shoot your teammate, then it doesn't matter. Just remember, abilities don't go through your teammates, so if you fire a Bangalore Ultimate, Ash Tactical or Fuze Tactical, then it's gonna bounce off of their backs.

How it works:

Shooting your teammates is fine in Apex, just remember to avoid doing it in fights to actually shoot the enemy lol.

10. Redeploy Beacons are all around the maps.

Every Apex map has redeploy beacons around them. These are large rope towers with balloons at the top of them. These red balloons are markers around the map to show where the tower is. Go up to one and jump on it, they will send you high up in the sky so you can reposition or get around the map with ease.

How it works:

Just go up to them and press interact on the rope.
Remember to skydive to a better position or even land on enemies if you want to.
Valkyrie can also redeploy from anywhere, so it might be more useful than a beacon.

9. Climbing Walls is fantastic for getting around the map.

Unlike many other Battle Royale games, Apex is full of insane movement. One of the other most basic ones to learn is wall climbing. Any surface in the game can be mounted from rocks to buildings. This is great for getting around the map easier and even getting a better position on high ground.

How it works:

Go up to a wall or surface and hold “space bar” on it and you should start to climb up.
You will mantle as you get to the ledge as well.

8. You can mute your squad members.

One of the most annoying parts of any online game is people leaving their mic on or just being annoying in voice chat. Thankfully, Apex Legends allows you to communicate well enough without a microphone or even hearing your teammates. So feel free to mute them in-game if you want.

How it works:

In a match, open up your inventory and go over to the Squad tab.
Here look in the bottom corner and press mute.

7. Make sure to respawn dead teammates.

People die in Apex, that's just the way of the game so to speak. I mean, do you win all your games? Nah, I didn't think so. Even the best players in the world get knocked and die now and then. This is why respawning your teammates is a core mechanic in Apex. Head over to their death box and pick up their respawn card. You can also craft them as a support legend at a Crafter. Head towards a respawn beacon or use a mobile respawn to get them back into the action.

How it works:

You can see your teammate's banner/ card flashing when they fully die. Their icon will be green.
Once you've grabbed the card, move towards a respawn tower, which will be pinged on your map.
Hold interact on one to get your teammate back.

6. Weapons have Skins.

A cool cosmetic side of Apex is that things have skins. From your legends to charms to even the guns. Though many of them are just for cosmetic purposes, some gun skins change the iron sights. There are quite a few, so just craft what skins look best to you. Oh yeah, you can craft skins in the game. From Apex packs or the battle pass, you can gain crafting materials.

How it works:

Head over to the weapon tab in your inventory and select a gun.
Here you can see all the gun skins available for crafting.
Each rarity varies in price, so get grinding.

5. Best Guns.

Apex has many guns, of varying types, classes and of course power. Some guns are insane, and others are okay. Don't worry though, you can use any gun you like in Apex as they all have a role depending on your stage in a match. Some guns will be fine early game, but awful in the final few circles. Find what you like and get used to them.

How it works:

Some of the best guns in the game are R-99, R-301, Flatline, Volt, CAR SMG, Peacekeeper, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, Wingman, Hemlock, Nemesis.
Use these guns to get better at the game and destroy your foes.

4. Firing Range

Now, have you been struggling a little bit in the game? Feeling like you're not up to the competition? Well, the Firing Range is for you. Even right now, before the massive Season 17 overhaul coming, the firing range is fantastic for getting to learn guns and perfecting your aim.

Most players use this as a warmup as they can get their bearings once again before getting into a game. It's fantastic for any player, maybe hop in and test your metal.

How it works:

Instead of selecting Duo’s or Trio’s go down and press “Firing Range” instead.
Here you have access to all guns in the game with unlimited ammo, all attachments and anything else you might need.

3. Movement Techniques.

I think you've learned a lot from this list, so how about something hard? Let's get into some movement techniques that the game offers. The players have perfected these over the years, so don't feel bad if it takes you ages to get a hold of them. We have wall bouncing, tap strafing and super gliding.

These are all the basic movement techniques we haven't spoken about so far, but all are hard. Each one has its own specific requirements to hit, so get trying in-game and in the firing range.

How it works:

To wall bounce, slide and run up to a wall. As soon as you hit the wall, press jump and change your direction. This will give you a speed boost and keep you in the air.
To tap strafe, you need to input a directional key multiple times in a short time. This changes your direction on a whim. The best way to do this is to map W to a scroll wheel.
Finally, we have super gliding. If you mantle a wall, press crouch and jump at the same time, you will glide across the floor or in the air. Many players use a macro or a CFG file for this.

2. Team composition.

Now you're a low-key pro at Apex, let's get into team composition. I assume you've found your Apex main right? Even if it's someone like Rampart, Wattson or Newcastle, who aren't exactly Meta, you can create a team composition with friends.

Find the strengths of your legend and base your teammates around that. Or use another legend and build around them. There is a myriad of ways to build a team, just find what works for you.

How it works:

For example, if you play Rampart, you might want an Octane or a Pathfinder on your team to get you around the map easier. Sheila is super powerful, so using this makes sense.
If you play Lifeline, then you might want a Newcastle to make sure your revive capabilities are perfect.

1. Have Fun.

So you’ve finally invested in the acclaimed farm simulator Stardew Valley and are wondering where to begin with your new farm. Look no further than these twenty-five tips and strategies to start your farm and maximize profits, while also enjoying yourself on your first playthrough.

1. Picking the best starting farm

The intro menu lets you customize your character, pick your pet, and choose a starting farm

For beginners I recommend the standard farm because it is the least complex and offers the most space for farming and raising animals. The other farm choices are more specialized (ex. Riverland farm is specialized for fishing, so there is less land. The Forest farm encourages foraging so there’s more wilderness).

2. Energy

Pay attention to your energy level. You don't start off with a lot and are limited in what you can accomplish. Eating can restore energy and so does sleeping, though sleeping will start a new day.

3. Planting

The layout of your farm can be important in terms of organization and style

Plant all 15 parsnip seeds you start off with. Parsnips take only four days to grow, make you decent profit, and help you level up your farming.

4. Watering

Something that is not explained is how to refill your watering can. Stand next to any source of water and "water it." This will fill up the watering can instead!

5. Fishing

Fishing can be a great source of income in game

A lot of people find fishing initially challenging and are deterred by it. I recommend purchasing the training rod from Willy right after receiving the fishing rod from him. It is only 25gp and makes catching fish easier. Remember to get rid of the training rod after reaching level 5 fishing, as it will no longer be more helpful over the other rods.

6. Buying seeds

By the first or second day on your farm, I recommend going to Pierre’s to buy more seeds to plant. It is important to at least invest in green bean seeds, cauliflower seeds, and potato seeds (it will be important you have one of each later on). I recommend buying two of each of these seeds.

This is so important to remember. Just buy anything you might need from him before or after Wednesday, since the only other store, JojaMart, has higher prices.

8. Crows

To keep crows away, before you’re able to make a scarecrow, only plant up to 15 crops. Planting anymore will attract crows and they will destroy your crops.

9. Scarecrow

Reaching level 1 in Farming will grant you the recipie to crafting your first scarecrow

Build a scarecrow as soon as you are able! It is the only way to keep away crows if you want to plant more than 15 crops on your farm. You need to gain one level in farming to be able to build one.

10. Weeds

Keep an eye on the weeds growing on your farm or build a fence around your crops. Weeds can grow overnight and damage your garden.

11. Seasons

Each season is only 28 days long so don’t plant seeds if they won’t have time to grow. The menu in the upper right corner of your game should tell you which day you’re on.

You can watch the weather channel and fortune channel everyday

The television in your house is useful! You can watch the weather channel and fortune channel everyday. Sometimes you can learn cooking recipes and farming and foraging tips too.

13. Community Center or JojaMart?

JojaMart's saying is "Join us. Thrive."

You can either donate items to have the town community center restored or pay Joja to expand further and take over the community center. The town is happier if you restore the center without Joja’s help and you will be spending less money taking this route. Plus the Junimos are really cute!

14. Items donated and Prizes

Keep an eye on what each bundle in the community center needs, because the faster you complete them the sooner you get prizes, such as raw materials, food, seeds, and more.

15. Quests

Check your journal for quests to complete and money to collect

Completing quests in your journal is usually a good way to earn gold and friendship with the townspeople. You can access your journal by pressing the exclaimation mark found under your gold amount.

16. Help Wanted!

The requests on the "Help Wanted" board can be a little odd, but the money is good

A good source of quick income and a way to earn friendship with the townspeople is to check and complete the help wanted posts on the bulletin board located right outside of Pierre’s.

17. Clay

An unexpected good source of income is to sell clay. Clay sells for 20gp a piece. You can find clay by using your hoe to hit dirt or sand.

18. Birthdays

Looking at the calendar shows you who has a birthday during that season

Giving a villager a gift they like or love on their birthday will give you double the amount of friendship with them, compared to giving them a gift on a normal day.

19. Mines and fighting

Every level of the mine offers something different

When going into the mines, it’s a good idea to bring at least one snack that restores a decent amount of energy and health. Monsters can damage your health fast and mining takes a lot of energy.

20. Passing Out

If you lose all your health and pass out in the mines you will lose some of the items in your inventory at random!

21. Adventurer’s Guild

Get into the Adventurer’s Guild as soon as you can. You can buy gear from them, earn prizes from Gil, and they have an item recovery service. The item recovery service can grant you one item back that you lost from passing out in the mines.

22. Mushroom or fruit cave?

There are five different types of mushrooms you can grow

At some point you will be asked if you’d like to grow mushrooms in the cave on your farm or have bats drop fruit. Fruit trees are a more reliable source for fruit and mushrooms will be harder to come by if you do not grow them in your cave (the fruit cave can be beneficial short term though, if you are interested in finishing the Community Center faster rather than thinking about long-term).

23. Multi-season crops

Some crops, such as coffee beans, corn, sunflowers, wheat, and ancient fruit, can grow during multiple seasons. So keep an eye out for these!

24. Upgrading

A good strategy if you want to upgrade your watering can before winter is to give it to the blacksmith the day before you know it will rain. That way you won’t miss a day of watering.

25. Walking

Horses get you places so much faster than walking

If you are tired of how slow you walk a good way to counter this is to stock up on coffee or save up to invest in a stable and horse.

15. Leave no stone unturned

Exploring the vast realms of the must-play action-adventure game thoroughly is critical to finding as many valuable items as possible. Each realm and biome contains a plethora of hidden relics, chests, scrolls, and artifacts related to events and side quests. However, a common blunder made by newcomers is attempting to explore remote areas of the map that simply cannot be accessed until the main story mode is completed.

Players will come across a slew of green doors and smoke-filled air holes on certain structures throughout the map, indicating a locked area. Do not attempt to access these areas until the main story objective has been completed; otherwise, beginners will waste a lot of time and effort and end up having to retrace their steps.

14. Brok’s lost and found

Players will inevitably miss valuable items to pick up after combat while exploring the various realms. Fortunately, Brok will lead players early in the game to a treasure chest that contains all of the items that a player has lost along the way. By approaching the glowing blue treasure chest located in each forge, players can gain access to this chest and obtain whatever is inside.

Beginners should also keep an eye out for the Nornir Chests, which require some fiddly work to open but are well worth the effort. The Nornir chests, which can be found in most realms, usually require destroying nearby runes using various methods. Every new player should make an effort to open these chests because they will permanently improve their health and rage.

13. Earn XP from labors

Once a beginner has improved their skills in Niflheim, one of the quickest and easiest ways to earn XP without putting themselves in danger is to open the Labors Tab in the Goals Menu and complete a slew of basic tasks listed. These are distinct from The Path main story mission and Favors side quests in that they will teach newcomers the ins and outs of crafting, killing, searching for collectibles, and the like while also awarding points.

Other minor Labor objectives include killing enemies using trees, incurring Burn damage with the Blades of Chaos, and Frost Damage with Leviathan Axe, all of which are great teaching tools for beginners to prepare for the harder parts of the game to come. As such, every novice should complete as many Labor Tab objectives as possible early on.

12. Train in Niflheim

The intense combat in the highly anticipated game is so difficult that beginners must train, practice, and hone their fighting skills before confronting the most brutal enemies. Fortunately, players have early access to Niflheim, which includes a dedicated training arena for newcomers to learn the controls, explore the recently unlocked skills and abilities, and mount lethal combos without fear of dying or losing XP.

Given how brutal the game's mini-bosses are, the last thing a new player wants to do is wander into danger without the ability to defend themselves.
