While all Mage Specs are strong, what they excel at varies.

The question of which spec to play is always an ongoing on question for all players. The real joy of Mage in Battle for Azeroth is that all three specs are perfectly fine for whatever the player wants to do. While numbers show that some are favored in certain game modes, all specs are present throughout the modes.

Fire Mage: Best Spec for Cleave

Fire Mages are currently ranked in the middle in regard to its DPS among the mage specs. Even then it is still in the upper half of the other DPS classes. Fire Mages are the most common Mage in PvP, however, no doubt due to their instant and high damage output.

Fire has Cleave damage from spells such as Flamestrike, Phoenix’s Flames, and Meteor.
Great Mobility, like all Mage Specs
Has massive damage for when a lot of damage needs to be done quickly.
Has a forgiving rotation that doesn’t punish slip ups too harshly
Great for both raids and mythic plus.

Much like actual fire, the biggest draw back to Fire Mages is the uncontrolled cleave. When you need to ease back on damage, or not hit a mob that is being crowd controlled, you may want to consider brining a different mage spec.

owever for fights where there are mobs that need to be take down, such as the Apetagonizer 3000 during Grong or during mythic plus trash pulls, the massive amounts of cleave damage are a complete win.

Frost Mage: Best Spec for Open World

Cool and collected, Frost Mages are the lowest ranked mage spec on DPS in single target damage, but also the most represented in PvE according to World of Wargraphs. This is in part, probably, to the more relaxed play style of Frost compared to the more chaotic Fire and punishing Arcane.

Most Frost Spells slow enemies, making them the best for kiting enemies in the open world.
Frost has high damage output and is more consistent than its peers.
Frost Mage has access to great AoE Spells like Blizzard that are more controlled than Fire’s chaotic cleave.
There is a level of luck in Frost, and if certain spells don’t active due to bad luck, the spec suffers

Frost is the perfect spec for open world actives. Being able to pull all the required quest mobs and kite them around before nuking them down with a Blizzard and Frozen Orb is one of the best feelings in the game. And the spec is not lacking in its abilities in other game modes. It’s fun to play and not overly complicated, so for those looking for a spec that can perform well all the time, Frost is for you.

Arcane Mage: Best Spec for AoE and Single Target

In pure damage output, Arcane Mage is ranked at the very top for Mage Specs as well as the 5th highest period, as of patch 8.1.5. The spec has options for both single target damage and AoE, but suffers heavily from it’s own mechanics. Messing up an Arcane Mages rotation punishes hard, and as such Arcane Mages are underrepresented as a result. As it is with all Mage specs, it can still be used in any content well but be wary.

Even better mobility than the other Mage Specs due to Shimmer giving a second Blink
While punishing if you mess it up, Arcane offers a completely different play experience than Fire and Frost
However, Arcane is a spec that can be dead in the water than others, due to Evocation stopping if you move for mechanics, leaving you without mana for 3 minutes
Highest Single Target Mage Spec, when it’s working

Arcane Mage is a bit of gamble. It’s harder to play than the others but can also result in better results, on paper. In practice, the mechanics of Battle for Azeroth’s Mythic Plus Dungeons and Raids seem to work against it. You can make it work, but more work will go into it than making Fire and Frost Work. However, for encounters that call for high damage, like Fetid Devourer did, this spec certainly pulls its weight.

What are the best mounts introduced in Battle for Azeroth?

With every new World of Warcraft expansions comes its own new set of mounts. Whether you like them or not, they definitely make traveling a lot easier and faster. I know I wouldn't want to walk to every location. Usually in the case of flying mounts, they can even give us access to locations that we would otherwise not be able to access from the ground. With the many different mounts released in BfA, it might be a little tough to decide which ones you'll want to spend some time acquiring. 10. Mecha-Mogul Mk2

Yep, that's a gatling gun.

There are several professions that have the ability to craft their own mounts. Once you attain a schematic and have the correct profession, you will have the ability to create your own mount. The Mecha-Mogul Mk2 is one of the mounts that can be created by engineers. This is a flying, robotic head with a machine gun attached to the bottom of it.

9. Vicious War Riverbeast

You want a what for Christmas?

Hippopotamuses are usually thought of by most people to be cute and cuddly. In reality, they have the capacity to be total maniacs, even killing their own young. The Vicious War Riverbeast lives up to its name. It’s a hippo, it’s mean, and I want it for Christmas. It doesn’t hurt that it’s also an armored hippo.

8. Nazjatar Blood Serpent

Do you hear it whispering things to you?

According to the mount description, the Nazjatar Blood Serpent is used by N’Zoth’s lieutenants. This mount is so badass that it’s used by the forces of one of the Old Gods.

7. Xiwyllag ATV

Only a matter of time before it explodes.

This is another mount that is going to be craftable. According to the available information on how to attain this mount, parts for this craftable mount must be crafted by engineers and blacksmiths. Who wouldn’t want to ride around in a hovercraft. As a side note, since the parts must be made by two different professions, there is a very good chance that this mount will be usable by anybody.

6. Bee

Kill it with fire!

Blazing bumble bees! This flying mount is basically a giant bumble bee. It currently isn’t available in the game, but is said to be coming soon. You may not be able to pollinate flowers or sting people, but at least you will be able to fly around on a giant bee. Riding on a car sized bumblebee, I am pretty sure no one will be swatting you or shooing you away.

5. Biting Frostshard Core

This guy is cold-hearted.

Other forms of this mount is already available as drops from Gul’dan, one of the raid bosses in the Legion expansion. This mount is an achievement reward. Once you get one of these, you’re basically riding on the shoulders of an elemental. Like sitting on the shoulders of a giant, no one will be messing with you.

4. Craghorn Chasm-Leaper

Shh, it's trying to hide by staying very still.

The Craghorn Chasm-Leaper are beasts that have been able to catch their avian prey by jumping high into the air to catch them. Unlike actual yetis, these are less mysterious. However, they are yetis nonetheless. Although, they do leap, so maybe they’re more like the Hulk? Yeti or the Hulk? Either way, I wouldn’t mind traveling in style on the shoulders of this beast.

3. Sharkbait

Sharkbait want a cracker?

When you think of the typical pirate captain, you’d probably think of them having a parrot companion on their shoulders. You’re also thinking about how the parrot is probably mimicking the pirate captain. You know what would be awesome? Having said pirate captain with an accompanying parrot on his shoulders riding on a giant parrot. Now that will turn heads in the pirating world. With a giant flying parrot, who needs a pirate ship?

2. Mighty Caravan Brutosaur

How do you even get that much gold?

In WotLK, we got a mount with vendors and a repairsmith, in MoP, we got a mount with vendors and a transmogrifier npc, and now in BfA, we are getting a Mighty Caravan Brutosaur, which has vendors and an auction house npc. If you’re filthy rich and you find yourself with all three of these mounts, why would you ever want to step foot in a city? At this point, you’re literally almost a city. You know what, maybe you should just be recognized as a city.

1. The Hivemind

Resistance is futile.

This mount is currently a mystery, and there is some speculation on its abilities. It initially had a different model, and it was called a placeholder and taken out of the game during the alpha testing for BfA. However, since patch 8.1, we can see that the mount is back in the pet journal, and we can see that it now has an updated model. It is rumored that other players will be able to join The Hivemind, making this mount a multi-seat mount, and it is also speculated that the more players that join, the faster the mount will go.

Top 10 Best WoW Flying Mounts 2019 (BfA)

In our last article, we covered the best ground mounts in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. This time, we’re looking at some of the best flying mounts in the game. While flying hasn’t been unlocked in Kul Tiras and Zandalar as of Patch 8.0, this feature will be available to players later in the expansion. Now is the time to prepare and hunt for new flying mounts to add to your collection!

Here is a list of some of the best flying mounts throughout all of World of Warcraft’s expansions. It is by no means comprehensive, but these mounts are either exceptionally rare, unique in appearance or are desirable for some other reason.

11. Solar Spirehawk

"Looking into the eyes of this mystical beast is like peering into the heart of the sun. Goggles are recommended when you're riding."

The Solar Spirehawk is impossible to ignore. As one of the brightest mounts in the game, it will attract attention from other players and pairs well thematically with any of the Firelands raid sets, Fire Mages or Blood Elven characters.

This flaming bird is the perfect mount for intense personalities and those who appreciate eye-catching items. While there are a few variations of this mount, none seem to stand up to how awesomely bright the Solar Spirehawk is. Make sure you match it with a fiery Transmog set to really blow people away!

There’s a few ways to find Rukhmar, who drops the mount. First, you have to head back to Draenor– not Outland from the Burning Crusade expansion, but the Warlords of Draenor zones. There’s a portal to Stormshield in Stormwind Keep, as well as the portal to its Horde equivalent, Warspear, located in the Valley of Strength in Orgrimmar. Don’t forget that old Garrison hearthstone collecting dust in your bags! Head over to the Spires of Arak by either flying there yourself or taking the flight path. There’s a bridge that leads into the dungeon, so stand in that spot facing south and wait for the huge glowing bird to path around some distance away. Since this is a world boss, it resets once a week with all the other raids; unfortunately, you aren’t able to use a token as a means to get another chance for it.

10. Headless Horseman

"Be it into the flood, or into the fire, this one will go where you require."

This fearsome horse has managed to strike both fear and awe into the hearts of Azeroth’s denizens. During the beloved Hallow’s End holiday, this steed aids its malevolent master, The Headless Horseman, as he terrorizes towns.

Because of its low drop-rate and the fact that it can only be farmed during a holiday, the mount is highly desired by collectors. The mount looks fantastic with many of the darker Transmog sets in the game, particularly with Death Knights and Demon Hunters. When the horse gallops through the air, it leaves behind a trail of green flames.

Come Hallow’s End in late October into November, people scramble to get their hands on this elusive mount. While the drop rate isn’t the best, the bright side is that the dungeon finder cuts out traveling altogether. Once your dungeon queue pops, take it and finish the short scenario to defeat the Headless Horseman — simple as that. Hopefully, luck favors you that day and you receive it from the Loot-Filled Pumpkin. If you don’t get the mount, try again the following day when dailies reset on your server until the event ends.

9. Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher

"Raised from the chilling depths of Icecrown, Frostbrood Vanquishers are considered among the fiercest and most relentless of all frost wyrms."

Emanating a frosty aura, this massive undead wyrm strikes fear into the hearts of those who happen to cross its path. It is the undead version of the majestic dragons seen throughout Azeroth.

Want to look like a Death Knight without actually playing one? This mount is for you! This skeletal dragon is a great way to sell your character’s menacing nature to passersby.

Two skins of this mount exist: the 10-man raid version, and a separate 25-man raid variant. The Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher is the 25-man version, so make sure your raid dungeon difficulty is set to the 25-man Heroic. Please note that you can do the rest of the raid on Normal mode, but you must finish the final encounter on Heroic to unlock the mount, which saves time and makes the run a lot speedier.
It's a bit of a hassle to get to Icecrown Citadel, but the tried and true method is to use your old Dalaran hearthstone. Once you’re in Dalaran, run to your faction's side of the city and take the portal to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Take the ramp that leads to the portals, and one of them will be old Dalaran in Northrend. Hop onto your flying mount, and head north to Icecrown until you find the massive citadel and the portal leading into the raid. All seventeen achievements are required to get the Glory of the Icecrown Raider, which will grant you the mount. Thankfully, you don’t need to take a friend along and the content is easily soloable by a high-level character.

8. Thundering Cobalt Cloud

"This is a descendant of the irascible Nalak. Lightning erupts from its scales and arcs over the saddle. Dare you sit?"

Cloud Serpents are endemic to Pandaria. Their colors are just as varied and as unique as they are. They are usually seen flying around in the open skies, used as loyal mounts by the Pandaren Cloud Serpent riders.

Sweeping, graceful movement of the Cloud Serpent mounts is still impressive to this day, even if Mists of Pandaria is quite dated. The Cobalt variant of the mount is particularly astonishing, featuring a shade of blue rarely seen in the game’s art. The mount is a natural companion to the lightning-wielding Elemental Shaman or for anyone who has fond memories of Pandaria.

Similar to Rukhmar and its mount drop, the Thundering Cobalt Cloud Serpent also drops from a world boss, Nalak. Nalak is located in Pandaria on the Isle of Thunder. Make sure you’re back in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and take a flight path out to Townlong Steppes to the Shado-Pan Garrison. Once you arrive, you will see a portal that can take you to the island. All roads will converge into one path, and from there you head directly north until you start to see the raid entrance to Throne of Thunder. If Nalak has already been defeated, wait a bit, and he will respawn within the next fifteen minutes or so. Like Rukhmar, you also have to wait until the raid reset if you don’t get the mount on your first drop.

7. Corrupted Dreadwing

"Bathed in the blood of demons, these corrupted Dread Ravens are significantly more aggressive, and will often kill one another if kept in confinement."

Dread Ravens, and the corrupted Dreadwing, are native to Draenor. They are most commonly spotted in Spires of Arak, where the avian Arakkoa reside.

The Corrupted Dreadwing captures the dark aesthetic of the Arakkoa and their ancient civilization. Reminiscent of Jim Henson’s designs in The Dark Crystal, a classic 1980s film, they are an excellent choice for a wide variety of different classes and Transmog sets.

Do you like grinding content for a few weeks to get to what you want? Wonderful, so do I! Thankfully with the Corrupted Dreadwing, it’s very straightforward and you don’t need to kill a raid boss. If you’re out in Draenor, start doing the Order of the Awakened quests until you reach Friendly reputation. In this process, you’ll receive Apexis Crystals, which is currency used by the faction’s reputation vendor, who sells the mount. While the mount costs 150,000 of the Crystals, take solace in that you’ll quickly accrue them by doing the initial quests and dailies. You’ll need to repeat the dailies to get more of the Apexis Crystals, but also farming areas that are teeming with elite mobs and treasure chests. It may take a week or two, but it’s most certainly worth it.

6. Flameward Hippogryph

Hippogryphs are the constant companion of the fierce Night Elves. Though these loyal beasts are said to be blessed by the ancient spirits of nature, they too are susceptible to corruption.

This particular Hippogryph mount is reminiscent of the Firelands, changed into a monstrosity by the evil magic practiced by the servants of Raganaros the Firelord. Druids of the Flame are often seen riding these mounts. With the release of Druids of the Flame leather Transmog sets in Battle for Azeroth, your Druid can look just like Fandral Staghelm, the fallen hero of the Cenarion Circle.

As with the Corrupted Dreadwing, this mount requires a bit of a grind. First, head to Mount Hyjal in Kalimdor. The easiest way to get there is through the Cataclysm portals in Stormwind City, as well as Orgrimmar. If that doesn’t suit your fancy, hop onto your flying mount and make your way there on your own. The bad news is that you will need to complete a majority of the quests in the zone to get the achievement “Coming Down the Mountain.” Thankfully the map tracks the quests and will tell you what you’re missing. Once you’ve completed that storyline, you’ll unlock the Molten Front and – you guessed it – do another series of quests for the achievement, “The Molten Front Offensive.” The achievement itself is gated by the amount of marks you receive from dailies, so it will take nearly a month of time and some patience to get to there, but on the other side of it all, you will have a new mount in your collection.

5. Depleted Kyparium Rocket

"When Kyparite is depleted of its amber essence it becomes fairly resistant to the corrosion from rocket fuel."

Known for toeing the line between genius and insanity, Goblins have continued to surprise – and horrify – with their inventions. If it doesn’t explode, then it wasn’t made right.

While this Kyparium Rocket is considered Depleted, do you really trust the Goblins? Be careful not to crash this thing, or you might beat Garrosh Hellscream’s record for largest yield explosive used in a military conflict on Azeroth. If your character is an Engineer or you’re known for your volatile temper and ability to explode at any moment, this mount might end up being your favorite.

There are a few ways to get your hands on this. If someone uses the Engineering Toy “Blingtron,” there is a low percentage of receiving the mount from a daily quest. If you’re a Goblin Engineer maxed out in Pandaria Engineering, you’ll be able to make it by learning the recipe from an Engineering trainer. The materials required are excessive, and just one of the components required costs 60,000 gold. If you want to forego the trouble of gathering all the materials, you might be able to find one on the Auction House for around 100,000 gold, which seems like the most economical choice.

4. Mimiron’s Head

"A token of titan craftsmanship hoarded by the Old God, Yogg-Saron. Currently the single largest mechanical gnome head in Azeroth."

For those of you who were around during Wrath of the Lich King and actively raided Ulduar, you probably recall how much of a stir Mimiron’s Head made in the community when it was discovered in the game files before the release of the patch. Still one of the most unique and eye-popping mounts in WoW, Mimiron’s Head sets you apart from the crowd.

What’s not to love about being behind the wheel of a flying head with guns mounted in its mouth? For Gnomes and Engineers, this mount is almost an essential part of their collection.

You’d think that this drops off of Mimiron in the Ulduar raid, but that isn’t the case. Get to Northrend’s version of Dalaran with the method described earlier in the article, and veer to the right to go into Storm Peaks rather than Icecrown. Flying all the way to the far north of the Storm Peaks will reveal the entrance of the raid, but make sure you ignore the side portals nearby – as they’re 5-man dungeons. Make sure you’ve set your raid settings to 25-man, and clear the entirety of the raid until you’ve reached the end boss, Yogg-Saron. Don’t talk to any of the Keepers on the central walkway, as this will immediately invalidate the chances of the mount dropping

3. Armored Skyscreamer

"Only those heroic souls who surmount every challenge the mogu tyrants place before them can proudly fly the skies on a war-prepared skyscreamer."

The Armored Skyscreamer is another mount for people who love dinosaurs. Used by the Zandalari Trolls when they once served the Mogu and the Thunder King, Lei-Shen, Skyscreamers patrol the skies of the Isle of Thunder and swoop down to quickly kill their prey.
With a face only a mother could love, the Armored Skyscreamer’s jagged-toothed underbite is so ugly that it is almost endearing. Complete with golden headgear and armor, they are a great mount for the newly-released Zandalari Troll Allied Race, or for anyone who has a fondness for the mysterious Isle of Thunder.

Glory of the Thundering Hero rewards the player with this mount. You need a whopping twenty-three achievements required to get it but Throne of Thunder is still a lower-level raid and should be relatively easy to clear at max level. Eleven of the achievements require the Heroic difficulty, so it may just be in your best interest to keep it on Heroic for ease. The steps getting to this raid follow the same route to get to the world boss, Nalak, but instead of pausing in that courtyard, go straight ahead into the raid itself.

2. Invincible

"The famous steed of Arthas Menethil, who serves its master in life and in death. Riding him is truly a feat of strength."

Astute players may have noticed an open grave in Tirisfal Glades, the Forsaken capitol region, during their adventures. This grave was not for any human, but for Arthas Menethil’s steed, now risen from the dead.

Invincible is coveted for many reasons: it was the horse belonging to Arthas Menethil in Warcraft 3, who later became the Lich King. The horse’s design is not only unique and eye-catching, but it is still exceptionally rare with a very low drop rate.

Much like the Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher, Invincible also drops from Icecrown Citadel. The method remains the same: head to Dalaran in Northrend, and fly northward until you see the rising spires of the fortress. This mount only drops on 25-man, so it’s imperative you check your difficulty rating before running in. The final boss of the raid, the Lich King, has a chance to drop Invincible.

1. Life Binder’s Handmaiden

The Life-Binder's Handmaiden is a drake, which are younger dragons. They keep to the skies all over Azeroth; their variety and vibrancy making them stand out.

While drake mounts are dime-a-dozen in World of Warcraft, this one in particular stands out. With its vibrant coloration and large curling horns, its uniqueness catches the eye.

There are a few ways to get to the Caverns of Time. Once is going into Legion Dalaran, taking the central portal down and going straight. There are many portals in the Chamber of the Guardian, so make sure to choose the Caverns of Time. If you're in Northrend Dalaran, head up the stairs to the Violet Citadel where the portal awaits at the top. Once there, take the spiraling path downwards. The first tunnel on the right is the raid entrance. Make sure the difficulty is set to Heroic! This one comes from Deathwing, the last boss, and has a lower chance at dropping.

Top 10 Best WoW Ground Mounts BfA (Most Awesome Looking)

Because we are already three months into Battle for Azeroth, the latest World of Warcraft expansion, many players have hit Exalted with the newest factions.

While Battle for Azeroth provides players with a broad selection of new mounts as a reward for reputation grinds, some mounts from prior expansions remain highly coveted. Here are some of the most sought-after mounts, along with instructions on how to acquire the ones that are still available.

10. Amani War Bear

“Only the swiftest heroes venturing into the troll temple of Zul'Aman were able to subdue these rare battle mounts.”

Adorned with tribal regalia and trophies of war, this is one of the first bear mounts to be introduced into the game during Wrath of the Lich King. It shared a familiar theme with the stylized Troll armor from the ten-man raid, Zul'Aman. On top of the fact that it looks something straight out of a hammy 1980’s power metal album cover, anyone who acquired this mount also received a Feat of Strength. Only one Amani War Bear could be looted per raid reset, and because of this, the mount is extremely rare. With the introduction of Cataclysm, Blizzard removed this particular mount from the game to maintain its prestige from completing a difficult timed trial. To make up for those who were unable to get it at the time, they introduced a five-man version of Zul’Aman with a purple version of the mount, the Amani Battle Bear.

To get the Amani Battle Bear, you'll need to fly to the Ghostlands, or Northpass Tower in the Eastern Plaguelands if you don’t have the flight path. From there, go north until you reach the portal. In Ghostlands, keep running until the road cuts to the east. Follow the path, and run up the broad stairway. Clearing the dungeon in its entirety in under 25 minutes unlocks the mount, but you’ll need to loot the chest in Halazzi’s boss room for the bag that contains it. All of the gear that drops in Zul'Aman also matches well with the bear mount, in addition to the new Troll gear introduced in Battle for Azeroth.

While you are there, use Amani Hex Sticks on forest frogs to get yourself a battle pet, Mojo.

9. Black Qiraji Battle Tank

From the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj in the remote wastelands of Silithus, the Black Qiraji Battle Tank comes from a family of strange insectoid creatures that worship the old god C'Thun.

Players who are fortunate enough to have acquired this mount are accustomed to a flurry of other people whispering them in-game as it is exceptionally rare. If you think the Battle of Stromgarde war effort is a pain, imagine having to gather hundreds of thousands of items just to make progress in an aspect of the game that was barely understood and poorly documented.

Back during classic World of Warcraft, players had to rely on hearsay and simplistic websites. There was no Wowhead or MMO-Champion to consult for information. Both Horde and Alliance players on every server were committed to the difficult task of gathering and turning in purple lotus, thorium bars, thick leather, and copper bars, just to name a few. This was well before Cross-realm technology was added to the game, so it often took months to complete and required the full cooperation of the entire server.

While players contributed to the war effort, others embarked on the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest line, starting in Silithus. To this day, the Scepter quest line remains the longest in the history of the game. Coupled with slow reputation grinds, the fact that you needed to be a member of a competent raiding guild to complete the quest (well before the existence of the Looking for Group system) discouraged many players from even trying to complete the quest. Once completed, players were given the Scepter and tasked to ring the gong, which opened the gates to Ahn’Qiraj. There, the reward was a weapon of the player’s choice, as well as a legendary mount, the Black Qiraji Battle Tank. Other players who partially finished the quest but missed ringing the gong were given a ten-hour window to grab the mount. At this time, the mount is no longer available.

This mount received an unexpected model update in World of Warcraft: Legion, so keep an eye out for players who were lucky enough to get this storied mount!

8. Llothien Prowler

The Llothien Prowler is a red fox mount, and compliments characters with lighter frames and some of the dexterous classes in the game, so it might be a perfect fit for your Rogue or Druid. The decorative saddle could be a homage to the purple and gold color scheme associated with the Night Elves, close cousins to the Nightborne.
For players who appreciate a minimalistic, understated mount that isn’t as garish as many of the other mounts in WoW, you might appreciate the Prowler. With excellent animations and a charming personality, it is the favorite mount of many players.

Fox mounts were only recently introduced to World of Warcraft so we might be in for new variations on the fox design soon. World of Warcraft: Legion debuted a new system of world dailies where the completion of four quests in that zone, or for the faction in question, yielded an Emissary Chest. You have a better chance of getting the mount from a Nightfallen emissary chest, or even doing the Withered Army Training Scenario – which means you will need to progress through the Suramar quest chain. If you happen to get a Torn Invitation from any one of those chests, congratulations! You’re now on the quest to get the mount. Don’t get too excited, though, as you still need to complete a series of class hall missions before receiving the final quest where you need to interrupt a fox hunt. Once done, the mount is yours!

7. Reins of the Obsidian Krolusk

The Obsidian Krolusk was introduced in the Battle for Azeroth expansion. Artists at Blizzard took inspiration from a real-world extinct marine creature, the trilobite.

This is the only Krolusk mount in the game as of Patch 8.0, but more variations on the model exist within the game files and may be added to loot tables in an upcoming patch. So not only is it a newer, rare model but it also has plenty of spikes and jagged edges. The sharper, the better.

To get this particular mount, you need to go through all the dungeons (and sometimes a few runs of the same dungeon for various achievements) in the current expansion. Once you are able to earn the twenty-seven achievements, you earn the Glory of the Wartorn Hero. While this is no easy task due to its requirements, the silver lining is that you are able to see all the great new content Blizzard has designed for players.

6. Living Infernal Core

The Living Infernal Core grants players the Felblaze Infernal mount.

The fearsome appearance of the Felblaze Infernal makes it exceptionally unique and terrifying. If massive, door-blocking mounts are what you seek, then you need to cross your fingers and hope that luck is in your favor.

Visit Dalaran City (The Broken Isles version, not Northrend) and head over to Suramar in the Broken Isles. Next, The Nighthold (Level 110 raid) on Normal, Heroic or Mythic difficulty. Gul’dan, the very last boss, is the one who drops the mount. At an estimated 0.02% drop rate, you may need to run the raid many times to get the Living Infernal Core.

5. Vicious War Raptor

The Vicious War Raptor is a fierce raptor ready to accompany on all of your adventures. They are most commonly seen in jungle settings.

Adorned with savage ornaments reminiscent of the designs seen in various Troll raids, it is an excellent choice for players who adore the tribal aesthetics of the Horde. Its updated model is surely enough to cause a few heads to turn.

How To Get Vicious War Raptor:

For those who have an interest in player versus player content, this may be the one that’ll pique your interest. You’ll need to trade in a Vicious Saddle for the Vicious War Raptor as well as a variety of mount choices. To get the saddle, you have to win one-hundred ranked arena matches with a 3v3 team, or forty rated battlegrounds. While no doubt daunting, the added difficulty makes the mount much more prestigious.

4. Rivendare’s Deathcharger

Perhaps one of the most sought-after mounts in classic World of Warcraft, Rivendare’s Charger was introduced as an exceedingly rare drop in the Stratholme loot tables to encourage players to spend time farming it.

While the dungeon is trivial to run in the present expansion and the chances of acquiring the mount have been increased, it can still be quite time-consuming.

To get it, clear the entire dungeon, and once you’ve killed the Baron Rivendare, there’s a chance he’ll drop what you’re seeking. Initially, its drop rate sat at a horrific 1 in 5000 but was later changed to a more reasonable 1 in 100. If you don’t want to press your luck, you can hover around the Black Market Auction House in hopes it’ll appear. You won’t be the only one bidding on it, however, so expect to spend an excessive amount of gold on it.

3. Midnight

“Still one of the most vicious steeds stabled in Karazhan.”

Midnight is the latest incarnation of a classic Karazhan mount, introduced in Legion. This chilling undead steed is the perfect companion for a Death Knight, Forsaken character or a player who prefers the macabre.

The original mount that Midnight is based upon was initially introduced in WoW’s second expansion, The Burning Crusade. It was obtained from Karazhan when it was still a 20-man raid. To acquire the new version of the mount, you’ll need to hit up Karazhan on Mythic difficulty, and this means you must be level 110 or above. A portal leads directly to the dungeon in the Legion version of Dalaran, located in the Broken Isles. Be sure to take the center portal down to Aegwynn’s Gallery, run all the way to the bottom of the ramp and it’ll be waiting for you to take it.

Once you’re in Deadwind Pass, fly up until you see a stone bridge with an instance portal. There are two paths to take in the newer release, and you’ll want to choose the lower route. Cut right, then clear out the mobs and bosses. Once you’ve completed the Opera Hall scenario, go directly down to where Attumen the Huntsman and Midnight are.

Since this is a Mythic difficulty dungeon, you can increase your odds of obtaining Midnight with a Seal of Broken Fate.

2. Kor'kron Juggernaut

“The Kor'kron Juggernaut is a weapon of unbridled destruction, born from the mind of Garrosh Hellscream and made real by his engineers.”

The Kor'kron Juggernaut, released in Mists of Pandaria, remains one of the most eye-catching mounts available to players. Created by Garrosh Hellscream's talented Goblin engineers, it has a jagged saw and mining drill for claws.

Much like the Rivendare’s Deathcharger, this mount also has the chance to appear randomly on the Black Market Auction House. Unlike the previously mentioned is that the Kor’kron Juggernaut has a considerably higher drop rate.

Whether it’s on Heroic or Mythic raid difficulty, you’ll need to head over to Siege of Orgrimmar – but don’t actually go to Orgrimmar. Head to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in Pandaria instead. Not sure how to get to the Vale? There’s a portal in Legion’s Dalaran that leads there for both factions on their respective sides. Once you take the portal, it’s not far from your faction’s home base, and all you need to do is go to the eastern side of the zone. If you see a large column with white stones scattered around and you’re just south of the Mogu’shan Palace, you’re in the right spot! Enter the raid, clear it in its entirety and defeat Garrosh at the end.

The Steelbound Devourer is a two-headed Core Hound mount, available to players from The Nighthold raid, introduced in Legion.

Covered in green Fel fire, it pairs excellently with Destruction Warlocks who have completed the quest given by the Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion, as well as Hunters with a matching green Core Hound pet.

If you happen to be a Blacksmith doing your weekly Nighthold run on Normal difficulty or higher for the Living Infernal Core, you may as well double-check the body of another raid boss in the same raid, Tichondrius. He drops a pattern for

Blacksmiths maxed-out in Legion Blacksmithing that gives the ability to make this mount when learned. Not a Blacksmith? Don’t worry about it, as you’re likely to find someone who put it up for sale on the auction house. Just ensure you have plenty of gold to fork over to purchase it.
