This Batsuit is comical and is more funny than serious; which goes against the theme of the Dark Knight but it is pretty darn entertaining to fight criminals dressed as a railroad worker.

Batman Arkham Origins is a class apart from other Arkham games. Not to say that the other Arkham games aren’t great. All are amazing games of the series and each one surpasses the next. Arkham origins adopts a different theme of an angry young Batman. This game starts as Joker hiring eight assassins to hunt down and kill the Bat! Eight assassins means eight badass boss fights! In this post I will highlight 5 of the best Arkham Origins Boss fights that are amazingly fun!

Electrocutioner

The Electrocutioner fight comes on early in the game. You are looking for The Penguin on his ship when suddenly you find yourself at the centre of fights going on and the Electrocutioner is looking to pick a fight with you. He intriguingly smashes his shock gloves on the railing before jumping over it and telling Batman that he is going to kill him, restart his heart with his shock gloves and then kill him again!
Batman gives him a mean look and soon after the cutscene, gives him a one kick to the chin and the Electrocutioner is knocked out cold! Although it’s not an elaborate boss fight, it’s definitely the funniest!

Firefly

Another one of Joker’s assassins; Firefly is causing trouble in the city to lure out Batman, kill him and get the prize money. Batman won’t let Firefly cause trouble so he goes on the search to defeat him.

This boss fight requires a lot of skill and takes a different toll than hand to hand combat you’ll see in other boss fights since Firefly has the ability to fly and throw fire bombs!

You have to avoid these bombs and follow Firefly when he’s flying around the city. Batman throws his glue grenade to stop Firefly from firing his flame thrower and beats the living ‘hell’ out of him (pun intended).

Bane

Bane has been a regular Batman nemesis and his reoccurring roles in Batman Arkham Series are second to the Joker only. There are two boss fights with Bane. One is when you go to confront the Joker. If you think this fight is hard? Wait for the second one, when you have to travel to Blackgate prison because the Joker is causing a riot in the prison.

That is when Bane is fully pumped with his venom and the only way to beat him is for Batman to kill him because if his heartbeat is not stopped; Commissioner Gordon will get electrocuted. Batman cleverly finds a way to not break his ‘no killing’ rule and save Commissioner Gordon in the process.

Killer Croc

The boss fight with Killer Croc comes in the first level of the game. Although the fight is not that difficult, yet the cinematics and gameplay makes you love the game instantly! Ever heard of, ‘first impression is the last impression’; it pretty much works here too! The killer croc fight is at the beginning of the game and it will give new players a challenge from the start.

Deathstroke

Perhaps the most awesome boss fight in the history of gaming is the Batman vs. Deathstroke in Batman Arkham Origins! This fight is the peak of hand-to-hand combat. Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke is an assassin with an expertise in martial arts and is one of the few Batman villains who gives the Dark Knight a challenge. Players need to use a multitude of combos and gadgets to defeat Deathstroke and the satisfaction after defeating him is as priceless as catching the Joker.

The graphics of Arkham Origins match up to the overall game’s dark theme.

Low End Settings

Batman Arkham Origins is a fairly old game. Not to mention it was also ported for Xbox 360 and PS3 which means that you don’t need a beast of a gaming PC to run the game. However, some gamers own a budget gaming PC that can only support last gen games. The minimum requirements for Batman Arkham Origins are:

Arkham Origins is one of the most underrated Batman Arkham games of the series. Personally, I think it’s an amazing game with tons of amazing gadgets and upgrades. If you work smartly with your upgrade points in the beginning of the game, the whole experience will go much smoother.

Batman games have amazing gadget upgrades for Batman, but Arkham Origins set the benchmark for awesome gear that only Arkham Knight could surpass.

Here are some upgrades that I consider to be the best in Arkham Origins.

The Disruptor:

The Disruptor is one gadget that you will obtain as you progress in the main story. You will have a mission to get this device from the GCPD lockup. This amazing gadget will help you a lot in your encounters specially with thugs with guns. The disruptor will jam their weapons and if you upgrade the gadget with upgrade points: It will electrocute the guy firing the gun. The disruptor will mainly help you with encrypted locks gaining you access to many doors and Riddler trophies in the game.

What Makes The Disruptor Great:

The Disruptor will help you get inside many jammed encrypted locks.
You can jam armed thugs’ guns.
You can sabotage weapon’s caches so that enemies you fight can’t get armed during the fight.

How To Get The Disruptor:

Shock Gloves Upgrade:

The Shock Gloves are the highlight of Arkham Origins. These are the gloves that will help you unlock many Riddler trophies and amazing combat styles too! To get the shock gloves, you will need to progress in the game and reach Joker’s hideout in the big hotel. A cutscene will be displayed and the Joker will throw one of his hired assassins from the top of the building. You can move towards that henchman; electrocutioner and take off his gloves to gain the shock gloves upgrade.

What Makes Shock Gloves Great:

The Sonic Batarang might not seem like much of a useful gadget early on in the game but trust me… it will be extremely useful later on, when Joker attaches sonic collars to his henchmen. You can earn the Sonic Batarang by progressing to ‘Worst Nightmare’ level 3 in the dark knight system. While you can unlock the Sonic Shock Batarang by reaching level 10.
You can use the Sonic batarang to distract thugs and make them move to a specific place you want and take them down in the style of your choice!

What Makes Sonic Batarang Great:

Get the enemies to accumulate at one point.
Unlock the shock sonic batarang upgrade to incapacitate enemies.
Maneuver the thugs according to your will.

Interactive and transitional elements add more excitement to each stage, as players can use certain objects in an arena to damage their opponent (like throwing a car at someone). The clash system adds another unique dimension to the game. In this system, players secretly bet portions of their “super meter” in an attempt to instantly win the clash—an ideal system if you’re fighting against the “hit and run away” type of player.

Number 3 on our list is Batman: Arkham City – Game of the Year Edition. We’ve chosen the Game of the Year version because it not only extends the original game by about two hours, but it also includes seven new maps to explore, three new playable characters (Catwoman, Robin, and Nightwing), and a number of different skins for Batman, Catwoman, Robin, and Nightwing. The game itself begins when Bruce Wayne winds up imprisoned in Gotham City’s new prison, Arkham City. Hugo Strange, the villain behind Wayne’s imprisonment, is after something called “Protocol 10” and it’s your job to stop him. Throughout your journey in Arkham City, you’ll come across a number of familiar faces, including the Riddler, whose solvable riddles make up a good portion of the game’s side quests.

“Sure, I’m Batman, but my real dream was to become the ultimate riddle solver.”

Like Batman: Arkham Asylum, players will make use of the freeflow combat system as well as things like “Detective Vision” to fight enemies, solve puzzles, and progress through the game. Since this game is the second in the Arkham series, many of Batman’s gadgets and combat mechanics have been updated to improve the overall game play experience. Unlike Arkham Asylum, Batman can catch objects thrown at him, attack while gliding, and counter multiple hits at once. There are also a number of new gadgets to look forward to, such as smoke bombs and a REC stun gun.

Batman: Arkham City was also the winner of several awards, including Best Action Game, Best Adventure Game, and, of course, Game of the Year. You’ll definitely want to explore all the spooky nooks and crannies in Gotham’s sprawling prison, Arkham City.

2. Batman: Arkham Origins

Batman: Arkham Origins, the third game in the Arkham series, stirs up the franchise with a new multiplayer mode. What makes Origins number 2 on our list? The storyline’s artful comparison of the Joker and Batman’s personalities, which culminates with the unanswerable question: is Batman doing more harm than good? Although Origins was released after Arkham Asylum, the game takes place 5 years before those events. The game begins on Christmas Eve with Batman attempting to stop a jailbreak at Blackgate Penitentiary. After failing to stop Black Mask’s escape, Batman discovers a $50 million bounty on his head, which has attracted the attention of some pretty awesome assassins. As Batman, players will not only go toe-to-toe with villains like Killer Croc, but they will also have the opportunity to engage in some petty crimes, such as breaking and entering.

And eavesdropping! Okay, eavesdropping isn’t a crime, but it’s pretty rude.

As with Arkham City and Arkham Asylum, players will again make use of the freeflow combat system, stealth techniques, and gadgets to progress through the game. In this game, Batman can summon the Batwing so players no longer have to glide-Batclaw-glide-Batclaw-glide-fall-start over. Also unique to Origins is the new multiplayer mode, which pits Bane and the Joker’s henchmen against Batman and Robin. Players also have the option to play the “Hunter, Hunted” mode which pits six henchmen (three Joker, three Bane) against Batman in a sudden death match. Origins also has a high replay value. If players beat the game on “New Game Plus” mode, they’ll unlock “I Am the Night” mode. This special mode is extremely difficult because if Batman dies once, the game just ends.

But at least those burning flames will keep their corpses warm.

While Origins was probably the most criticized of the Batman games on this list, it’s still one of the better Batman games out there.

Last on our list is Batman: Arkham Knight, the fourth game in the Arkham series. This game ranks at 1 because of its character-driven storyline and because it improves upon nearly everything from the previous Arkham games. Set one year after the events in Arkham City, the game begins with Scarecrow releasing his fear toxin into Gotham City, causing citizens to hallucinate some pretty nightmarish creatures. When Batman goes to investigate, he crosses paths with the Arkham Knight and his band of rebels, and ends up exposed to Scarecrow’s toxin. Players who enjoyed Arkham Origins’ storyline will be excited to see some of the same plot points picked up in Arkham Knight. And since this game takes place within Gotham City, players will have the opportunity to drive a very modernized version of the Batmobile.

While the freeflow combat system remains the mainstay for the Batman video game franchise, Arkham Knight builds upon this system by introducing the dual play system and by enhancing some of Batman’s gadgets. The dual play system, which can only be used after several continuous combat streaks, allows players to seamlessly switch between Batman, Catwoman, Robin, and Nightwing. Batman’s batarang now includes a scanner, which can be used for gathering information about an area, and the Disruptor (Arkham City) received several upgrades, one of which includes the ability to electrify crates (setting booby-traps for enemies).

To be fair, I’m sure Batman gave him plenty of warning before electrocuting him.

The puzzles in the game are also more intricate and more difficult than in previous titles, and some of these require the Batmobile to solve. With loads of downloadable content, players will discover even more quests, missions, and villains to defeat. As the fastest selling game in the Arkham series, it’s no wonder this Batman game sold over 5 million copies only four months after its initial release.

From his inception as a video game character in 1986, Batman has come a long way. Aside from a definite improvement in overall graphics, combat systems, and character lineup, developers have continued to please fans with each game’s unique storyline. But whether the storyline is character-driven, action-driven, or thrown out the window in favor of hack-n-slash or puzzle solving goodness, Batman has easily shifted its way into becoming one of the best superhero video game franchises of all time.
