Indeed, the Long Sword’s major weakness is the -15% affinity. But you can easily bring it up with augments or using Expert and Weakness Exploit jewels on the level 4 decoration slot that comes with the weapon. I personally love the Long Sword’s Halberd aesthetics that look that's straight out of Wukong.

After Kulve Taroth, there was another monster that required you to grind on an extensive siege system to receive highly rewarding weapons. Safi’Jiiva’s weapons are known to be powerful, especially their elemental options. But for Safi’s Long Sword, we recommend choosing the Shatterblade.

The reason is that it’s always good to have Blast status if you’re looking to maximize your DPS. Safi’s Shatterblade has 891 raw, 5% affinity, and 180 Blast. These numbers may not seem much at first, but once you use the “awakened” abilities exclusive to Safi, you can boost these numbers by a significant amount.

The awakening system also lets you add a “monster’s essence,” which are set bonuses from armors. This opens doors to a variety of builds that fits your needs and has the potential to boost your DPS even further.

Monster Hunter: World is an action RPG from Capcom's long-running franchise. The game takes players into a world of giant deadly monsters where players must take them down to create better weapons and armor to take on bigger and badder beasts!

The game was released on 26th January 2018 and became an instant hit, pleasing both newcomers and veterans. MHW’s player count is still going strong today, with an average of 10,000 to 16,000 daily logins, according to Steam Charts. These numbers don’t include players on PlayStation and Xbox, so the community remains incredibly healthy.

Monster Hunter: World has been in development for 4 years and successfully sold over 2 million copies in its first week. It is considered Capcom’s best-selling video game. An expansion dropped in September 2019 with the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne DLC, adding over twice as much content that the base game offered.

Monster Hunter: World’s Story

The NPCs wear all these cool armors and carry weapons but I’m the one doing all the hunting.

The story closely ties in with the gameplay, where the main quests tell you to slay the beasts of the New World, starting from the easiest monsters and building your way to bigger and harder ones. This also ties in with your character’s progression, which starts from low rank to high rank. The story’s plot eventually ends, but the game itself won’t end, as you can continue playing for up to thousands of hours.

I think the game’s story isn’t its strongest aspect. But none of Monster Hunter’s story has ever been engaging and interesting, as the game mainly focuses on its addicting gameplay and combat.

How are Rathalos not extinct as we’ve been hunting them down since the first game?

You begin the game by creating your character, starting by choosing gender, race, hairstyle, face prints, tattoos, and more. You also need to choose a Palico (a cat companion) that will offer support throughout every hunt. The character you create takes the role of a Hunter who travels to the new world as a member of the Fifth Fleet.

The game’s world offers several biomes, including rainforests, deserts, fantasy coral areas, volcanoes and many more. You’ll be hunting down monsters that are only found in any of these specific regions.

You’ll encounter many NPCs throughout your journey. These include other hunters, the handler, who will guide you through every quest, the general commander, who assigns most of the main quests, and the blacksmith, who’s in charge of forging and upgrading your gears. I think the NPCs aren’t particularly interesting as they are only there to support you during your hunts. But then again, no one plays a Monster Hunter game for the NPCs.

There are no class systems in Monster Hunter: World. However, the game offers a total of 14 different weapons. This ranges from cutting weapons which consist of sharp, bladed edges that can slice through the monster's flesh from up close. Also, there are gunner weapons that can be loaded with tons of ammunition and lets you keep out of the enemy’s claws.

Every weapon has its own movesets and mechanics, which also come with specific strengths and weaknesses. Players will focus on upgrading their weapons which requires specific materials and monster parts.

Monster Hunter: World's Combat

The combat is where players will spend most of their time in. It’s flashy and aerobatic, even more so than the series’s previous entries. After all, players will be slaying some of the largest enemies seen in any video game! The combat may take some time to get used to as players can experiment with all 14 types of weapons; some are more complex than others.

The combat features combos and stamina and revolves around effectively using any of the weapons to chain together combos strategically to do massive damage. Players can do this by combining light and heavy attacks in patterns. It’s challenging to start with, but once players master a weapon, they’ll unleash a plethora of special attacks which consist of more powerful and stylish moves.

You’ll be thrusting, slicing, charging, and firing without any break. And looking at how much damage you’re doing to your prey is truly satisfying.

If players are having trouble slaying a monster alone, the co-op multiplayer feature lets them work together with up to three others to make every hunt easier. This will let you develop tactics to bait out monsters and unleash powerful chains of combos from all angles to inflict brutal damage on them. You can create squad parties to hunt with your friends or random matchmaking and take down the most formidable monsters together.

Monster Hunter: World’s Quest System

Players will spend a lot of time in Astera, the primary base of the game. It acts as the main hub where you can take on both main quests and side (optional) quests. The quests systems are pretty straightforward; you get to choose a quest that presents the target monster you’ll need to kill. The quests vary in difficulty; the higher the difficulty, the better rewards you’ll get.

Besides that, there are also “investigation” quests where players must complete a hunt within a time limit. These are considered the highest difficulty quests and offer the best rewards in the game. They also make the game’s excellent replayability due to fresh challenges and random rewards you can get.

Monster Hunter: World’s Graphics

Besides hunting monsters, you can gather materials, catch rare animals and even go fishing in the game’s living, breathing world.

In terms of graphics, Monster Hunter: World certainly offers the best in the series, even better than the newest entry, Monster Hunter: Rise (originally released on the Nintendo Switch). However, when compared to current-gen games, MHW’s graphics may be considered a little outdated, but far from the worst.

But its mid graphics shouldn’t be the reason players turn down this game, as its engaging combat and animation are what shine the brightest.

Monster Hunter: World’s Developer

Capcom’s best-selling video game of all time has gone through numerous updates throughout its lifespan of more than 2 years. This includes new monsters, weapons, skills, events and world improvements.

Just like what Blizzard did with Diablo III, Capcom offered countless experiences and a huge expansion, and it didn't end there. The developers delivered on community feedback and created a game that continues to engage players, keeping fresh and relevant challenges even after a few years.

It's an incredible dedication and fan service for a game that isn’t built on a subscription or free-to-play. This shows how Capcom understands its player base and that players have spent hundreds and even thousands of hours on the game.

Price of Monster Hunter: World in 2023

The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX series X and S, XBOX ONE, and PC. The base game is currently sold at around $54, but players can get it at a discount which may go as low as $15.

The game doesn’t offer any in-game purchases or pay-to-win elements. However, players can purchase accessories, poses, and others which are considered as DLCs.

Whether you’re crafting water jars, clothing, or even leather for weapons, a simple rough skin can save you in Westland Survival. That’s why in this article I will be talking about the best places to find Hides. I will be also including some other resources that you can find in the locations that I will be mentioning. With that being said, let’s get on to it.

5. FOREST LAKE

This place looks peaceful, I hope there's no Wendigos around here.

Rough Skin is one of the major materials that you need in order to progress at the game. And Forest Lake is one of the perfect places to start off your farming journey in Westland Survival. A balanced amount of pine tree and stones, as well as herbs for medicines and wild animals, and of course there are chests scattered around the area as well. A simple defensive item, clothing and a weapon, should do it whenever you visit this location and a torch when it comes nighttime.

What’s great about Forest Lake:

Wild animals that specifically drop Rough Skin

Balanced amount of Pine Trees and Rocks

How To Get There:

When you go to the World Map, this location is at the north part of your base, the only location that is near your base.

4. FOGGY LAKE

It may be the fog, but I thought I saw something over there.

Another location that is balanced with resources. With Oak Trees and Shale everywhere, as well as Plantago. One thing that I forgot to mention is that if you get lucky, a cave might spawn whenever you visit one of these locations, although you have to have at least enough spirit so that the bear wouldn’t attack you when you enter. Like Forest Lake, having decent gear and a torch should be enough to get you by in this location.

How To Get There:

When you go to the World Map, this location is at the southern part of your base, and just the east side of the River Crossing

3. DRIED FOREST

As they say, red usually means something ominous is around lurking.

Unlike the locations that are mentioned here, Dried Forest is the only location where there are no mini quests available, though this is one of the places where you can obtain Fur for creating clothing that is specifically for the cold locations. This location also has tier 1, albeit only a minimal amount, up to 3 materials, although it is scarce, after a couple of trips here you should have enough fur to craft one set of fur clothing to enter the Snowy Passage. It also has a decent amount of Iron ore, used to make iron nails for fur clothing.

What’s great about Dried Forest:

Wild animals that specifically drop Fur

Abundance of Medicative herbs, Plantago, and Agastache

Abundance of Pine trees, Oak trees, and Maple trees

Minimal count of Rocks and Iron Ore

How To Get There:

When you go to the World Map, Dried Forest can be found at the easternmost side of the map near the Spirit Cave.

2. ASH GROVE

The tree makes me feel like I'm in a fantasy world.

The place where it places panic over you as you try and visit this on your first time. Even though there is a 1:1 ratio of wild animals and outlaws around in this area, it is balanced with the amount of healing herbs and sometimes there are granites that spawn, which is needed for upgrading workbenches and defenses in your base. Sometimes, there are wild animals that spawn here that drop a couple of Perfect hide.

What’s great about Ash Grove:

Abundance of Agastache and Matricaria Chamomilla

Abundance of Ash trees; Minimal count of Larch trees

Minimal count of Marble (Best to make a short trip to the Flooded Plateau for this and other ores)

How To Get There:

When you go to the World Map, Ash Grove can be found at the southern part of the map, just below the Interfluve and at the west side of Flooded plateau.

1. SHALLOW LAKE

I'll collect any resources as long as they have this kind of view.

So far, the easiest Red zone to visit out of them all. With just a few numbers of outlaws running around and a lot of wild animals, farming around in this part would be easy, especially if you have enough spirit points so that those wild animals won’t bother you. The reason that I place Shallow Lake in the number 1 spot is because with the amount of wild animals in this specific location you’ll certainly be able to get perfect hide from those animals.

Abundance of Agastache and Matricaria Chamomilla

Abundance of Ash trees; Minimal count of Larch trees

How To Get There:

When you go to the World Map, Shallow Lake can be found at the south-west part of the map, just below the River Crossing.

Note: You have to have the bridge at the River Crossing fixed in order to gain access to both Ash Grove and Shallow Lake. For guides on how to fix the bridge at the River Crossing, you can check this video down below on what materials to craft and get for it.

I can't WAIT to fix this bridge and explore at the southern part of the map!

[Top 25] Westland Survival Guide Tips Every Beginner Should Know

It really sets the mood for some cruising around the West, doesn't it?

In this article, I will cover all the tips needed for you to survive and enjoy your experience playing Westland Survival starting from the beginning up until the end game. Do keep in mind however that there are still some possible updates for the new things implemented in the game, meaning that some functions of the game are constantly changing.

Without further ado, let’s head on to 25 tips and tricks for playing Westland Survival.

25. CHECK CHESTS AND CARTS

Including the bodies of the outlaws and animals that you defeated. They have items that you may need in the long run. Food, clothing, weapons, and even resources that are appropriate for your level. So don’t think twice whether or not you should do multiple trips whenever there’s a random event because you should, which correlates to the next tip.

24. SNEAK ATTACK SAVES YOUR WEAPON AND CLOTHING

Whether or not you have a high tier gear, sneak attacks are one of the things that will save you the hassle of repairing your gear, and this kind of attack does more extra damage towards your enemies. So not only you’ll be able to save your gear, enemies you encounter will only require one hit if you sneak attack.

23. KEEP EVERYTHING

From the straws down to metal scraps, keep them while you’re still building up your base and workbenches. “Survival” is in the title of the game, after all. Yes, Westland Survival can be generous in terms of materials and blueprints (which I’ll cover on the next tip), but the more that you level up, the more materials that are needed to progress through the game.

22. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR INBOX

As well as Guns & Armor, Supplies, and Westland Delivery tab. They all contain free items and blueprints that you can obtain by just watching ads ranging from 5 seconds to 30 seconds, and if you’re lucky you might spot some great deals that only cost $0.99. If you’re worried about missing those deals, then don’t worry as they come back from time to time and it is not mandatory to spend real money.

21. ITEMS IN THE INBOX WON’T EXPIRE

This is a small tip, but it will save you space on your chests. You don’t have to worry about not getting all of those out of your inbox. With the limited amount of chests that you can craft, this tip may be a small one compared to the rest, but it will still help you manage your storage.

20. DAILY REWARDS

If you’re outside your base and overlooking the world map, you’ll see that there’s a calendar logo below the screen. There, you can access the daily rewards, which restarts 30 days after you’ve created your account in the game. You will also receive one water and food each day that will be sent directly to your inbox.

19. CONSERVE YOUR ENERGY

You can also get 15 energy just by watching ads, although there’s a limit to it, it is much better than spending your coins. If you’re eager to catch a random event, for 25 coins you can immediately refill your energy. Your horse is an alternative, but you’ll only be able to get a horse after you’ve collected all of the materials needed for the stable, which you will find on the Shootout Spots that happen randomly.

18. BUILD WORKBENCHES AND DOVECOTE

You don’t have to build them all at once. Build those that are essential in crafting weapons and clothing, as well as making food and refilling empty jars. If you’re wary of spending energy, then having a dovecote will make it easier for you to check out what the Trader has to offer.

17. MYTHICAL CREATURES

These creatures would only spawn at midnight up until dawn. As of today, there are no ways of killing off a Wendigo, the only thing that you can do is craft a torch and hit the Wendigo with it when you’re gathering at night. Depending on where you are, different mythical creatures will spawn and you can try to kill them when they come towards you, though it is not recommended as they have a high HP and defense.

16. VISIT TOWN FOR QUESTS AND TRADING

After you’ve built the Bulletin Board, you can now receive quests from various NPCs. Of course, rewards vary from time to time and the harder the quest the greater materials and weapons that you will receive. In here you will find shops that sell basic materials, as well as a barber shop in which you can customize your character. You can also get Tar from one of the NPC that is around the town, which you will need to repair the broken bridge that leads to red zones in the southern part of the map.

15. BANDIT’S ANGER METER

If you manage to fill up the bandit’s anger meter (can be seen at the top right of the screen), you can either pay them a certain amount of coins or you can fight them off yourself. If you’ve successfully eliminated every bandit that attacked your bases, you will get a map for their camp (Bandit’s Stash) by checking one of their bodies. In that location, you may find something of use or the items that the bandits have taken from one of your storages. There’s only one guard there so you don’t have to worry about bringing your full arsenal.

14. AI BASES

Up until mid-game, raiding AI bases are still recommended for players wanting to have loot that can help them progress at the game. When you’re just starting, you may notice that there are a handful of bases scattered around the world map. Don’t worry, those are just AI bases and you’re not zero-ing a real player’s hard earned loot. They won’t disappear if you leave them be, but if you decide to go to one of these bases, a 1-hour countdown will trigger until it’s removed from the world map. And if you manage to clear those bases and want more, just visit the Town’s saloon and find an NPC named Cora Pearl, where you can obtain maps of bases for 200 coins.

13. STRATEGIC BASE LAYOUT MEANS LOW CHANCES OF STOLEN GOODS

Don’t also neglect those traps that you see in the building mode of the game, they will help you stop bandits from raiding your goods. And if they manage to destroy those traps, you can just fix them for free. Yes, even fixing your walls and doors is free to fix. There are a lot of base layouts that you can easily find on the internet, or if you have something already prepared, you can do that as well.

12. RANDOM EVENTS

If you happen to see a random event spawn in the world map, don’t hesitate to visit those, because most of the time there will be some valuables laying around chests and bodies. Like I mentioned, some random events, specifically Shootout Spot, do give items for building up a stable, which will unlock a horse and can be used for traveling long distance locations. And if you happen to have an extra amount of items used to build stables, you can exchange them at the town for items needed for the wagon.

11. WHISKEY FOR THE COLD JOURNEYS

An alternative for fur clothes is whiskey. You only need 2 pieces of fur clothing for surviving the cold weather in the northern part of the world map, but if farming for fur is something that is hard for you, then stack up with whiskey as it makes your character warm for a decent amount of time.

10. BANDIT OUTPOSTS AND EXTRA QUESTS

You may find NPCs hanging around in these locations, and you can find them as well on Mining locations. Aside from the materials appropriate for the level of the zone that you’re in, you can also obtain extra coins and weapons with each mini quest you complete. These quests will sometimes give you extra coins as well.

9. SPIRIT CAVE

You may get items that you don’t know where to put or what to do with it, and those bags of coins or bones are one of them. Well, they are offerings for the three totems inside the Spirit Cave. You can use those to unlock the chests below each totem. Of course, there are items that can only be seen inside the Spirit Cave, which is clothing that can increase your Spirit skill, tribal weapons, and offerings for the totems. If you manage to open one of the chests from the totem, you will sometimes find oats seeds used for your horse to refill their stamina. There are four doors inside, where you will find more of the offerings needed to unlock those chests. There are maps available on the internet for everyone to use in case you don’t know where to head to inside those caves, though it is not recommended to enter here when you’re just starting out in the game. Note: Once you enter one of the rooms, it will trigger a 2-day countdown until it resets.

8. CANYON TRIALS

Aside from the oats seeds and coins rewarded for how many levels that you’ve passed in here, you can also obtain rings and amulets here that will help boost your skills. Although randomized, you can trade them at the northern part of the world map, which is the Native American Tribe’s location. To participate in the challenge at the Canyon Trials, you’ll need 3 silver and 3 bronze rings and place them on the pedestal at the center of the map. With each level you finish, it will give you an option whether to continue or not, a time that you can use to take a breather or change your clothing and weapons. Note: Like the Spirit Cave, the Canyon Trials will have a 2-day countdown before you can enter again.

7. BEAR CLAWS AND WOLF FANGS

You may have these from the accumulation of gathering for fur and meat, and they are useful especially if you’ve unlocked the Snowy Passage at the game. In the Native American Tribe location, there is a trader that is willing to accept fangs and claws as payment for resources that he offers.

6. REPAIRING WEAPONS AND CLOTHES COST LESS

Half of the materials that you used to craft your equipment, to be exact. Not all of the players of Westland Survival are lucky with the mystery crate and loot from the random events, so repairing weapons and clothings are one of the easiest ways to get by. There are two ways you can repair your gears; first is by your own repair bench, and the second is from the Gunsmith in Town, although the latter repairs only weapons. If you are to repair your weapons to the Gunsmith, you’ll need 10x Dried Fish as payment.

5. FOCUS ON STATS THAT YOU NEED

Whether it be Spirit, Attack Speed, Defense, or Damage. Know what you need. But in my opinion, Spirit can be super helpful. Not only can you tame wild animals and take their aggro off from you, but they can also help you fight off outlaws and bandits that are also with you on a location. Of course, it is still up to you what you think will work best for your style of gameplay.

4. SPECIAL & SEASONAL EVENTS = FREE ITEMS

Throughout the year, Westland Survival releases updates where you can participate in an event that happens all throughout the world. Whether it be Halloween, Christmas, or the celebration of the game’s anniversary. When you hit a certain goal from one of these events, you can sometimes obtain special weapons and gears, although most of the time you can only repair those weapons through the Gunsmith. All of these events are usually available for a few weeks, so you don’t have to worry about missing it out.

3. ALLIANCES

Alliances are a new addition to the game, which was implemented just last October. Being in an alliance can be an advantage, but not necessary to go through the game. There are only 5 spots in an alliance, so you may find a lot of alliances recruiting. Personally, I haven’t joined any alliances yet as there may still be updates and improvements that the devs might put in, but if someone takes you in and helps you, it’s better as well!

2. GOLD NUGGETS

Aside from the trader that constantly sends you messages on your dovecote and the one that resides in the Native American Tribe, there’s a trader in town which accepts gold nuggets as payment. There are ways that you can obtain gold nuggets, rewards at the Leaderboard and through the alliance. Aiming to collect gold nuggets is only recommended if you have enough materials to spare to use for quests and to climb up in the leaderboard.

1. HAVE FUN

World Chat is also one of the new things implemented in the game, only coming out last year. There, you can share tips and tricks for new players as well as old. You can also just chill with them and talk about stuff that you’ve encountered while you’re out gathering or doing quests. The Westland Survival community is welcoming, and most of them are always willing to help you when you have a question regarding the game.

Westland Survival Stats Guide - Where To Spend Your Points

So, you may notice that there is this tab under your character’s profile. It may not seem much, but if you change or take off your gears, you might notice that it improves or decreases as you switch weapons or clothing. That’s why in this article, I will explain all of the player skills, along with their advantages, that can be upgraded as you level up throughout the game. You will gain 1 point every time that your character levels up. Of course, clothing, accessories, and weapons will have an effect on your stats, and therefore should be taken into consideration as well.

DAMAGE

Give me damage, and I'll punch my way through Outlaw Outposts!

If you’re the type of person to just go through every zone with the intent of clearing it, then this stat is for you. If you plan on prioritizing your damage while your level is low, a simple punch can be as dangerous as a pepperbox or a knife. This stat can also add more damage to a simple weapon, even more so when you’re at the stage of using a higher tier weapon, which means you’ll be able to one-shot enemies that are coming towards you. It is also perfect for special and random events; Special events contain difficulty options yet rewards players with quality items, and random events will show up and align its difficulty with your current level.

Basically, Damage helps you in terms of:

Fighting enemies easily with bare fists and weak weapons

Wiping off groups of enemies

So, spend your points to Damage if:

You want to one-shot enemies

Special and Random events

Fighting waves of enemies at Canyon Trials

ATTACK SPEED

Goons? Gang Leaders? Piasa? They're no match for the fastest gun in the West.

Having a weapon that has both decent attack speed and damage is every player’s dream. Sadly, there are no weapons that have both, although if you’re already grinding consistently at red zones and have Tier 4 weapons to go with, then attack speed might be useful to you. This is useful when you encounter enemies, especially Goons, whose movements are slow, and you can also fight some enemies who moves quickly, like Piasa You can easily go full DPS if you decide to dump all of your points on attack speed, though there are rings and amulets, which will have a random stat boost, that you can obtain if you finish levels in the Canyon Trials.

Basically, Attack Speed helps you in terms of:

Wiping off waves of enemies

Killing enemies who are slow

So, spend points to Attack Speed if:

You’re trying to save clothing and weapon

Canyon Trials

Spirit Cave

DEFENSE

You can have my clothing set, thick skin is all I need. For now.

Crafting simple clothing can be a nuisance, moreso when you’re just starting out and already getting beaten by outlaws and wild animals. If you just want to farm materials without having to worry about your limited set of clothes, then defense is for you. It might not be the best skill to dump all of your points, but it will assure you that even as you take those hits from your enemies, it will save you up some bandages and food. Although as you level up in the game, so does your arsenal and gears, and it might not be wise to have such effective defense if you can’t defeat outlaws with two shots from your weapon.

Basically, Defense helps you in terms of:

Saving clothing/gears

Conserving health potions and bandages

So, spend points to Defense if:

You lack resources to create clothing

You want to take less damage from hard-hitting enemies

SPIRIT

Is there a perfect treat for a pack of wolves?

And lastly, spirit. This stat will help you tame creatures wherever you go, it will also make the creatures around you passive while you’re out gathering materials in every zone. Though I do like to add that Mythical creatures (Wendigo, Piasa, and Uktena) will not be affected by your spirit points and would remain aggressive towards you if you encounter them, as well as animals that randomly spawn to where your character is at any given point.

Dumping your points on spirit is extremely helpful as it will make everything easy from grinding down to doing daily quests. As mentioned, animals do tend to attack you if you don’t have enough spirit points, and it can spell trouble especially if you’re trying to save your weapon for facing outlaws. Also, once you reach a certain amount of spirit points, you can also tame them, although taming one can cost you (temporarily) to lose those.

Basically, Spirit helps you in terms of:

Taming wild and spirit animals

Removing the aggro from wild animals

So, spend your points to Spirit if:

You’re trying to save clothing and weapon

You’re still grinding for materials, specifically for Tier 2 to Tier 4 materials

Taming spirit animals at Canyon Trials

Top 10 Westland Survival Best House Designs That Are Awesome

In a game where you can build your base freely, you’d know that aesthetic is the first thing that will come to your mind. But then, you’d find out that there are some enemies who will try and break your base simply because you’ve angered them. Well, fret not, for this article will show and explain the basics of having a simple yet effective base design for Westland Survival.

10. A Wooden Defense

When playing a new game, all of us are given items and materials that we have to manage strategically so that we can get by on our first quests. And that materials are usually the common ones that some may find it hard to gather. That’s why this video showcases how to maximize those Tier 1 materials.

What’s great about this type of design? Materials used here are all made from Pine trees and straws, meaning you won’t have to go far to gather wood and you can just use plain weapons to fend off outlaws and ferocious animals that roam around Green zones. This type of base design also maximizes the space that all players are given, which means that even though bandits can get through it easily, it would take a lot of time for them to break all of your walls.

9. Looks Familiar

After first seeing this design, it may seem familiar to some of you. That is because it has the likeness of those AI bases that are scattered around you. If you’ve managed to go to one, you’ll find out that it is a bit tough to maneuver through it sometimes, because of its countless doors that lead to nothing.

What’s great about this type of design? It can easily be copied if you manage to take a recording as you raid those AI bases. It has enough space for traps, buying you some time to run to where your would-be raiders will spawn. And, you can just upgrade your defenses from thereon if you’re satisfied with this layout.

8. Got Pine?

Are you tired of Bandits breezing through your base like it’s nothing? Fret not, for this base design will surely confuse intruders with countless hallways and doors leading to nothing, or something, if they get lucky to spawn right outside where it is nearest your storage.

What’s great about this type of design? Room within a room that is also within a room. This one also maximizes the area given to every player. Though there are minimal traps that delay the attackers for a while, hiding your storage and creating multiple rooms within your base is another way of fending off bandits from ever reaching your chests hidden throughout your house.

7. Mix and Match

What’s a good way to annoy back the bandits that keep on raiding your house other than placing a lot of sandbags and iron stakes? Well, it’s mixing up the materials of walls and doors that you placed in your home! Sometimes, when the raid has been going on for so long the bandits may even leave you alone, and if you’re not keen on visiting the Bandit’s stash, then this layout is for you.

What’s great about this type of design? As the bandits traverse through your base, the quality of the walls will also improve, ending with them needing a dynamite to blow up the walls that are covering your chests. But, I wouldn’t fully depend on walls as your defense, after all traps can still do its damage on your enemies. Put on some of those barbed wires and traps so that it will waste their time as well as damage them along the way.

6. A Mix of Wood and Stone

Tier 2 & 3 base design

This one is a mix of, you guessed it, Tier 2 & 3 materials. It is a lot sturdier than the previous design mentioned, as well as a lot more reliable. Though it is best if you stick mainly first on pine planks as it will minimize your materials cost on workbenches, weapons, clothings, and such, which is your first priority. If you already have the woodcutting table, you’d probably want to use it as soon as possible to enhance the defenses of your base.

What’s great about this type of design? Resources that are made from this material can still be found around Green zones, with the stone walls’ resources are found in Yellow zones. As you can see, this design is more detailed than the first, with windows enabling you to shoot bandits from the inside, reinforced by the wooden stakes and sandbags.

5. Shales and Oaks

After you’re done wandering around the Green zones, you’re now ready to move on to the next milestone. Oaks and Shale are abundant in the Westland Survival world, as they have locations specifically for those resources. Of course, as you also level up, so do the bandits that come and raid your base.

What’s great about this type of design? Breaking into Tier 3 walls does take time, and that’s what you want when there are raiders attacking your base from all sides. Not only will your walls be enhanced, you can also now craft iron stakes, which does a lot more damage than the wooden stakes. This design also places the stable inside the base, leaving only space for traps outside the area.

4. Neverending Sandbags

A combination of high quality walls and defenses is sometimes all you need just to delay the destruction that the bandits will do in your base. In this case, they will have to use a mix of iron axe and dynamite just to wreck your defenses. Of course, a little help from barbed wires and traps will go a long way.

What’s great about this type of design? This design is alternating between hallways and sandbags, perfect if you still can’t spend all of your Tier 5 materials into building your base. I would suggest placing chests in one place so that you can easily go through them if the bandits manage to reach inside your base. The stable and the broken cart are placed outside, though you don’t have to worry about it as the bandits can’t destroy those.

3. It needs… Windows.

Some are too busy in the real world to welcome the raiders en route in their bases, that’s why they build their own homes with walls and doors only. Some don’t, preferring to greet intruders right when they arrive. If you belong with the latter, then this design is for you.

What’s great about this type of design? It has windows on the outermost part of the base, which is an advantage if you don’t want to look for bandits that are right outside your base. Whether they spawn in different locations around your base, you’ll have no trouble stopping them as you can easily shoot them inside your base. And when you travel towards the center of the base, it is the opposite, as storages and chests are guarded by countless doors and walls.

2. Stones, Stakes, and Barb Wires

At a first glance, the base layout seems familiar. Although, instead of having the stables outside of the base, in this base design, all of those are inside, leaving no free space for the bandits to walk to. That is because it is using the same materials, albeit here, the Tier 4 materials are mostly used rather than the Tier 3.

What’s great about this type of design? Unlike the first base design that was mentioned earlier, this one uses mostly Tier 4 materials starting from the innermost part of the base, with Tier 3 materials used mostly on the outermost part. And the parts that use Tier 3 materials are reinforced with iron stakes and sandbags.

1. Fortress of Traps

Are you tired of raiders still tearing up your base no matter how many times you’ve dealt with them? Do you just want to let them give up on their own as they blow up your defenses while you look where they spawned? Then, this base layout is for you!

What’s great about this type of design? Leaving only a space for one iron stake each block, this base layout is for someone who’s consistently farming around red zones, and as such can enhance their base to the highest tier. Putting doors after doors so that bandits will waste dynamite on an obstacle that is misleading them away from your chests and benches, as well as placing each storage separately on their own.

Top 10 Westland Survival Best Weapons (Ranked)

In this article, I will be covering the weapons based on its convenience, stats, and its level of efficiency for everyone. Do keep in mind that: 1.) The stats of each and every weapon here are based on blueprint level 1, meaning its stats will increase with every blueprint that you get, and 2.) The weapon’s damage and attack speed will be affected by the points that you put on your character’s skill tab.

10. Pepperbox

“The first revolver. Simple and affordable.”

Right off the bat, we’ll start with the good ol’ Pepperbox. You won’t have to worry about getting one when starting a new game as they will provide you with one as soon as you land on your base. It will be stored inside the broken cart along with other things. One other way of obtaining Pepperboxes is through daily rewards, which is given on the 4th day of the 1st week.

A Tier 2 weapon, its attack speed and damage is pretty impressive as it can fend off outlaws and animals, as well as it is easy to craft one and it is cheap to repair one. I personally use this whenever I go to the green zones where enemies don’t need much damage. Yes, this weapon may not be much in the first as it exists also with Beretta, but it will do its job when it comes to hunting and taking down outlaws.

9. Blockflinte

“For a clear shot, you need this double barrel shotgun.”

Another weapon easily available at the daily rewards, you can get this weapon at the 3rd week of daily rewards. Even though this weapon can be found along the daily rewards, it should not be underestimated as Blockflinte belongs to the Tier 3 category, and it can dish out damage in one shot, as it covers a decent aoe when fired.

From my experience, I like to use this gun even when entering zones where a higher caliber gun is needed. Places such as Shallow Lake and Flooded Plateau. It is reliable as it has 150 durability and a hefty amount of damage depending on the blueprint level of the weapon. I already have this gun at blueprint level 5, and if you’re just like me who wants to reserve guns with higher tier, this is the best alternative to use.

8. Tribal Sledge Hammer

“You can beat the enemy down, or pound his coffin lid.”

Surprised to see a melee weapon? You shouldn’t be, since this is one of the best and most accessible melee in the game. Categorized as a Tier 2 weapon, this weapon can be used to one shot enemies. Despite it having a low durability compared to the ones in this list, it is safe to say that this is best used when sneaking up on enemies.

Do take note that this weapon can only be found inside the Spirit Cave. It seems a bit tough especially if you’re a first time player, but once you clear out the four doors, not only you will come out with a Tribal Sledge Hammer, you’ll also be bringing a lot of clothing and materials out of there that will be extremely helpful!

7. Fast Load Shotgun

“Fast double barrel shotgun can stop any opponent.”

Want a cheap weapon but has damage AND wide area effect? Look no further, Fast Load Shotgun is your go-to for that. Or at least for the time being while you continue your journey throughout the West, though some may prefer to use Beretta rather than this, I’ll let you decide from your experience on which is better.

A Tier 4 weapon, you'd be surprised at how this weapon can do damage to outlaws and animals. Not as painful as the other shotguns mentioned in this list, but it will certainly do its tricks especially when there’s a mob of outlaws right in front of you. You just have to be a bit careful when using weapons that has a wide area effect, as some passive animals can attack you as well when you accidentally shoot them.

6. Colt Patterson

As colt as ice

The last weapon that is given on the daily rewards, though you might not want to underestimate this weapon. Even though Peacemaker (which I'll get on to in a moment) is just above this weapon in terms of damage and durability, Colt Patterson can be just as dangerous and fast as the Peacemaker. And you won't have to worry about getting one!

Just like every other Rare blueprint, it has a special effect that goes along with it as you unlock this weapon. With its 18% chance of critical strike, it will certainly give you enough time and will save this weapon’s durability while using it. So even if Colt Patterson is included in the Tier 3 list, don’t let it fool you.

5. Peacemaker

“Powerful and accurate revolver made by Colt.”

Currently my favorite weapon to use as of today. With the special events that had happened in November throughout January, this weapon has helped me breeze through the event quests that occurred in those months. Belonging in the Tier 4, Peacemaker holds its place in the number 5 spot for its durability, damage, and range.

As you progress in the game, you will find it hard to grind for materials sometimes, and repairing higher tier weapons isn’t ideal especially if you’re trying to save up for upgrading your base. That’s why Peacemaker landed on number 5, aside from its stats, its repair cost is cheap enough that you won’t have to worry about spending too much materials for your weapon.

4. LeMat Revolver

A weapon that will hold your hand throughout red zones

Good ol’ LeMat, a fan-favorite of those who’ve played Westland Survival long enough. This is probably everyone’s go-to weapon when venturing out to gather materials and trying out Canyon Trials. With 22% chance of critical strike, this is no doubt one of the safest weapons to use when dealing with outlaws 1v1 or when you’re trying to reach higher levels in the Canyon Trials.

Just like the Peacemaker, LeMat belongs to the Tier 4 category, although this is one of the powerful guns that belongs in the Tier 4 category and is the most commonly used by longtime players of the game. Using this alongside the Revolving Carbine, LeMat can be used as a final blow to enemies running towards you.

3. Revolving Carbine

Revolving countless of outlaws since 1855

A rare weapon, Revolving Carbine can be used as a second weapon as its special effects are slowing down enemies with the chance of 25% for 0.5 seconds. Belonging at Tier 4, this weapon is normally used in the Canyon Trials for its effects that was mentioned, and adding its damage, it can clear most of the spirit enemies there.

While Sharps Rifle almost has the same effects as the Revolving Carbine, the former is short when you include its damage and durability when you compare it to the Revolving Carbine. Despite the split opinions that I’ve seen whether or not Revolving Carbine is much better than the Buffalo Rifle, one thing I’m sure of is that both weapons will do its job when it comes to fending off outlaws that are trying to put you down.

2. Winchester Model 1892

Move aside, the King of the West is here

Just like the Revolving Carbine, the Winchester Model 1892 also slows down enemies with the chance of 25% by 0.5 seconds. What makes it different from the former weapon? Well, firstly its damage. At blueprint level 1, the Winchester Model 1892 offers a damage of 1054, making a huge leap from Revolving Carbine’s damage of 659. And while this weapon’s range only has a 1 point advantage from Revolving Carbine, it can still make a huge difference especially if you’re trying to save your gear’s durability while roaming around red zones.

I personally haven’t used this weapon yet, but I can tell that it can save someone the hassle of fending outlaws and animals that lurk around red zones, especially when the enemies that you encounter have a tough defense. If you want to clear out a group of outlaws hanging around locations such as Chromite mine, where they are huddled up, then this is your best bet to make their health bar half in one shot.

1. Trench Gun

AKA the Piasa sweeper

Currently the most powerful weapon in the game, dethroning Winchester Model 1892 after years. A Tier 5 weapon, like every rare blueprint, has a special effect that is 10% chance of critical strike and it is only at blueprint level 1. Though it is only a bit higher in terms of damage compared to the Winchester Model, its crit is something to consider.

Crafting a Trench Gun can be a bit tricky, as it requires almost a handful of tier 5 materials, especially if you’re just also starting to roam around red zones. And its blueprints are hard to obtain, with some even buying it directly from the in-game store just to unlock this weapon. But don’t worry, if you manage to obtain one, the best way to utilize its durability is by using it only for higher levels at the Canyon Trials.
