Any medium from horror may feature the best cast of characters and sport some of the most inventive deaths that the genre has ever seen, but those are all nothing without a memorable villain that will make your skin crawl.

So, let’s take a look at the Top 10 Horror Movie Villains We Want to See More Of.

10. Julia Cotton (Hellraiser)

Although most people may have forgotten, Julia was originally intended to serve as the Hellraiser franchise's recurring antagonist. She is a cruel, vicious villain who committed murders and went to hell out of passion, hence she is deserving of that title.

She had killed her own husband as a sacrifice for her other lover, returned from hell to commit murder once more, are just some of the few things that Julia had done.

Although Julia may not be as well-known and terrifying as the cenobites, she should still not be underestimated.

9. Esther (The Orphan)

Children are never a good sign in horror movies because they usually only appear to frighten the audience and the main characters, case in point, Esther of the Orphan franchise.

Esther may appear to be an innocent young girl, but don't be fooled - this little girl is capable of committing a number of sadistic acts, as evidenced by the fact that she has manipulated and murdered everybody who tries to stand in her way.

Esther's iconography was established after her plot twist in her debut film, which made us drop our jaws to the ground. The same is true for its prequel, First Kill, which took the franchise in an even more absurd route.

8. Pearl (X)

Ti West's newest outing is a surprising and shocking reinvention of the slasher genre, with it taking inspiration from the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. However, in place of a skin-wearing maniac is a creepy old lady whose seeking fame.

Pearl managed to wreak havoc in two movies in her two outings released within the same year. From murdering her own family to killing a group of adult filmmakers, she will do anything to get what she deserves.

Pearl is one of the most grounded and promising slasher villains we have seen in recent years, and with the upcoming announcement of Maxxxine, the third installment in the trilogy, we are eager to see Pearl return.

7. The Mother (Barbarian)

Barbarian is one of 2022’s surprisingly refreshing entries, giving us many disturbing and uncomfortable moments, as well as hilarious ones that make it a film worth remembering. One of the film’s memorable elements was its villain, The Mother.

With such a grotesque appearance that it just wants to look away, The Mother never fails to make each of her scenes such an excruciating watch, especially with her initial appearance and the infamous breastfeeding scene.

And to think that The Mother is just one of the few monsters that house hides below its walls, we’re definitely excited to see what a sequel to Barbarian could bring us.

6. Kayako (Ju-On: The Grudge)

No matter how many movies and series are made about the infamous Japanese ghost duo, we just can never get enough of them. Ju-On’s Kayako provides some of the most traumatic and haunting moments ever seen in the genre. Their first appearance was in the short film Katasumi and 4444444444.

Kayako’s rage is something that no one ever in the franchise has ever managed to escape from. With 14 movies under its belt and not a single survivor in sight, it’s easy to say that Kayako is a force to be reckoned with.

Her ghoulish appearance and death rattle makes for such a haunting sight that will leave even the most die-hard horror fans traumatized. Along with her ghost son, Toshio, seeing these two might just scare you to death.

5. Tiffany Valentine (Bride of Chucky)

First appearing in 1998’s Bride of Chucky, as the girlfriend of the titular Chucky, played by Jennifer Tilly. Tiffany proves herself to be just as stylish and sadistic as her lover, for all the different reasons. However, deep within their urge to kill, Tiffany also longs for a happy family, giving her a bit of depth as a character.

Tiffany and Chucky have engaged in a lot of crazy things. From impregnating Jennifer Tilly and possessing her body, then later holding her captive in her own home trapped inside their switched body, to dismembering Nica’s limbs so that she couldn’t escape her.

And while her character in the second season of Chucky may have suffered by becoming a stumbling mess of a psycho, Jennifer Tilly's performance of the character still remains an enjoyable watch. Come on, we all know Tiffany also merits her own spin-off.

4. Art the Clown (Terrifier)

Clowns are already terrifying enough on their own, and the existence of Art the Clown further demonstrates this. Delivering us with one of the most disturbing and eerie depictions of a clown character ever seen in the genre. With no motivations, only darkness, Art the Clown might just become one of horror's modern icons.

From sawing a girl in half, eating a girl’s face, to keeping a girl alive only to then slowly kill her. Art the Clown has done lots of acts that even the evilest could not imagine.

Art’s appearance and menacing stares, together with the film’s masterful use of stinger, can easily make someone shiver Art has only just begun terrorizing the genre yet thousands are already traumatized, and everyone’s eager for his next film.

3. Freddy Kruger (A Nightmare on Elm Street)

Yes, Freddy Kruger may have gotten 9 films under his belt but we just can’t get enough of him. Murdering every child and teenager that has a connection to his past and death, Freddy is one evil nightmare you would want to wake up from.

Don’t be deceived by his wise-cracking jokes; Freddy is still a psychopath who can carve you up in creative ways, just like what he did to his previous victims. Killing them all while they’re vulnerable in their sleep.

Sure, Jason may be powerful and Michael Myers may be menacing, but Freddy remains one of the horror icons that we just want to see keep on coming owing to his devilishly hilarious and iconic one-liners and dreamlike kills.

2. Pinhead (Hellraiser)

Although Pinhead may have appeared in a dozen of Hellraiser films, he was never really the central focus after Hellraiser: Bloodline, the final film in the franchise that was written to be an actual sequel. As a character, Pinhead doesn’t exactly have any motive, instead, he plays the role of an angel to some and a demon to others for those who solve the infamous puzzle box’s configuration.

Despite being a powerful being, however, Pinhead was originally a human before becoming one of the cenobites. And following his ascension, he would then send those who solve the box into a world full of pleasure and suffering, leading to many creative and unthinkable deaths across the franchise.

And with an excellent portrayal by Doug Bradley, Pinhead is solidified as one of the genre’s best villains. And is one that we’d love to see more in other Hellraiser films.

1. Carrie White (Carrie)

What separates Carrie White from other movie villains on the list is that she isn’t some psychopath who kills for fun nor a supernatural creature from hell, but rather a sympathetic and misunderstood girl who was mistreated by everyone around her.

However sympathetic Carrie may be though, she is fondly remembered most for causing a massacre at her high school prom after witnessing her date, Tommy, dies from an accident in front of her. And here is where she lets her powers loose and kills everyone who stands in her way.

Carrie’s story is such a timeless classic that every single rendition of it, whether it be the 2002 adaptation or the 2013 remake, still strongly evokes a sense of sympathy. And it's the kind of feeling that no other characters on the list can ever match.

In this list, we’ll be exploring the top 5 axes and maces that you can find in this game to pummel out those hordes of Magitek Soldiers and Daemons that you can find. This one is for all the strength-build users out there.

Have you ever felt like picking up something heavy and swinging it around just to feel like a strongman? Or ever wished to be like one? Not just in real life but in-game as well? Well, Axes and Maces tend to give that feeling pretty well. The same would go for this game as well. Axes and Maces may not be everyone’s preferred choice but they sure prove to be formidable weapons.

5. Golden Axe

Not a fan of Gold usually, but … it looks alright on this one.

FF15 Comrades Weapons Upgrade

First off on the list is the Golden Axe which is the upgraded form of the Imperial Axe that you can get from Meldacio Hunter HQ – Imperial Shop (All things Imperial and Empire related, this is your place to go.)

The good thing about this weapon is the Gold color. That and its Punisher X move which completely obliterates the enemy in front of you. The rest? It’s nothing special about this. I was never a fan of heavy weapons but at least it should pack a punch. 278 Attack is just not enough. Why did I even add to this list, you say? Well, it’s one of the only available axes in the game. Specifically, the Comrades Expansion pack.

Why Golden Axe is bad:

Despite the high attack, it delivers devastating damage to only a single enemy at a time instead of hordes of enemies making player susceptible to vulnerable attacks.
Slow movement also making susceptible to enemy attacks hence risk of losing health.
No magic or spell buffs making it a simple weapon to use and one of the weakest.

4. Mutant Mace of the Fierce

About the only photo that I could get regarding the X-Men version of the Mace. (Geddit?)

How to get Mutant of the Fierce

Well, as the name suggests, it’s a mutated version of the Royal Arm, not the original. So, there’s that. And top it all off, it’s a rare item drop as well from the bonus quest Daemonic Honor Rare Drop INGEM Barter. So, you might have to fight the boss several times for the item to be attained. It’s similar to the Magitek Armor V2 drop as well.

It’s got a very high attack power accompanied with resistance from physical attacks as well as dark resistance too. But the slow movements hamper all the greatness of this weapon much akin to its Royal Arm counterpart.

Why is Mutant Mace of the Fierce Average:-

Has the Sentinel X ability which negates all damage from enemy attacks making you go for the full offensive.
Slower movements of the weapon make the player prone to attacks and health damage.
Rare item drop which means grinding for this weapon depleting your inventory and eventually wasting time.

3. Vitanova

Well … looks green enough. Kinda explains the healing properties associated with the Mace.

This one’s the strongest mace in the Comrades Expansion. And for good reason as well. The Vitanova is basically the maxed-out version of the Vesper Mace, which is the upgraded version of the Tainted Club. To get the Tainted Club, you need to break the head of the Black Flan creature which is pretty rare itself, via the quests Dave-jà Vu and Havoc Befalls the Hut.

There’s only one factor which makes this weapon one of the best ones here and it’s its healing properties. It has the Curaga spell imbued with it which is reason enough to have this weapon in your arsenal. That and the 241 Damage it gives make it strong enough to deliver damage to enemies of all types.

Why Vitanova is great:

Curaga spell imbued with the weapon proving it to be a lifesaver when health is depleted or near depletion.
Fast moveset of the weapon making it good enough to hold the weapon as deliver swift and deadly strikes.
Increases spirit-giving ability to cast Curaga more effectively in less duration.

2. Mace of The Fierce

Well, the photo says it. One Bludgeon Royal Arm in the works.

You already know what weapon is this. It’s the original and the one and only Mace of the Fierce. Property of an old king of yore known as The Fierce and situated at the tomb akin to its namesake located at the summit of The Rock of Ravatough. (Talking about the Campaign here now.)

Great for bludgeoning enemies and for a warp strike as well, you can’t go wrong with this Royal Arm. Just that it has very less Shot Resistance which is another problem if you ask me. Oh, and since it’s a Royal Arm, it drains HP as well. So, there’s that.

Why Mace of the Fierce is average:

Wider attacking range which is effective for crowd control and quick elimination of enemies.
Slow attack movements which can again risk Noct and the rest to susceptible attacks from the enemy.
Reduced Ballistic Resistance which is quite disadvantageous keeping in mind that there are more Magitek Soldiers hunting the four heroes and are ready to gun them down anytime.

1. Axe of the Conqueror

Hold steady, Noct. You’ve got a very heavy weapon on your hands.

It’s the best Axe out of the whole list. That’s a given. I’m pretty sure you’re familiar with this Royal Arm as well. A story-attained Royal Arm with the weapon being originally of a king of yore known as The Conqueror who united the Lucian Continent in times of chaos. It’s a large labrys/double-headed halberd that instils fear in the hearts of the enemies.

You can get this weapon at the Tomb of the Conqueror, located at the end of the Keycatrich Dungeon in northern Leide. And you definitely can’t go wrong with this weapon either. Keep in mind that since it’s a Royal Arm, it drains HP pretty quickly, so use it only when desired.

Why Axe of the Conqueror is great:

Can perform Cross-Chains and Blindsides damaging giant enemies like Adamantoise, Behemoth etc.
Especially good at making enemies vulnerable where the rest of Noct’s gang can perform their attacks on them.
Highest attack in the game with 483 damage delivered to enemies making it one the strongest offensive weapons.

You have decided to play a savage, and you have decided its subclass. Now, you’ve reached Level 4. You are about to increase your Ability Score. Then your DM tells you that you don’t have to if you choose a feat. You ask him what that is. He says it is a way to further customize your character aside from your choice of subclass. You like the idea, except there are more than 30 available feats (your DM bought all the books because he’s that rich). You sit there. Considering the options.

This list helps you make that consideration into a decision.

The Barbarian is, first and foremost, a frontline damage-dealer. He may have the highest health in the game but he’s no defender. He is the human version of a literal tank: big, tough, and explosive.

Let’s get to the list!

10. Alert

Why You Should Consider This

Your goal is to be the first in action. You are a damage-dealer and you have something that the Monk doesn’t: HEALTH. LARGE AMOUNTS OF HEALTH. So you have room to be reckless with your actions. The Alert feat adds a massive +5 to your initiative roll. And since you rarely have any points to Dexterity, this is a huge advantage for you. The reason you need to go first during combat is that your job is to dispatch any artillery the enemies have: archers or mages. Your goal is to penetrate the backline.

What Alert Is Useful For:

Going first in order to penetrate the backline
Going first to kill the low-health, high-damage enemies

9. Charger

Why You Should Consider This

The fact that you have a whopping +5 bonus to damage roll when attacking after a Dash is nothing to scoff at. Remember, when you turn Level 2 you have a very powerful feature called Reckless Attack that freely gives you an Advantage. Use this to your advantage (pun intended). Charge immediately to that weak mage or assassin and slap your great ax to their faces. Don’t mind the consequences. You’re not a Monk. You’re a Barbarian.

What Charger Is Useful For:

Explosive damage after a Dash, good for approaching
VERY GOOD when combined with the feats Alert, Crusher, and Mobile

8. Crusher

Why You Should Consider This

Because you have an unlimited number of times to benefit from Advantage, it is much easier for you to score a critical hit. This is where Crusher is most useful. Your goal is to initiate the debuff by fishing for a crit against a huge and powerful enemy. Once the debuff activates, let your entire team focus fire on that target to take advantage of the free Advantage.

What Crusher Is Useful For:

Battlefield control since you can push targets after a hit
Giving your team Advantage against one target for massive damage

7. Fighting Initiate

Why You Should Consider This

If you intend to use a two-handed weapon (which is preferable), taking this feat and learning the Fighting Style: Great Weapon Master is a solid choice because it will surely increase your damage potential. Another Fighting Style you can choose are the Dueling and Two-Weapon Fighting. Both still increase your damage potential.

What Fighting Initiate Is Useful For:

Increasing your overall damage-dealing

6. Heavily Armored

Why You Should Consider This

The game rules about the Barbarian heavily lean towards melee combat. Although an archer or a throwing weapon Barbarian is doable, his Rage feature only functions during melee attacks. Since you are mostly in the front of combat, having heavy armor for a solid high AC is always welcome. This feat is particularly good if: one, you did not invest in your Dexterity score at all; and two, you are the only defender in your team.

What Heavily Armored Is Useful For:

Increasing your survivability by letting you become more difficult to hit

5. Lucky

Why You Should Consider This

The power to reroll any undesired d20 result three times a day is simply magnificent. Remember, your Relentless Attack, although powerful, is a double-edged sword. This feat allows you to reroll your enemy’s attack roll should they score a critical hit against you because of the Advantage granted by your feature. In fact, it is strongly suggested that you use this feat defensively, instead of offensively.

What Luck Is Useful For:

Rerolling any enemy critical hit against you, increasing your survival rate

4. Mobile

Why You Should Consider This

The only time you should consider taking this feat is when you have the Charger feat. Unlike the Monk, or the Rogue, you’re not squishy. You can withstand punishment. So, running around will just waste your time. But unless you have Charger, this feat becomes a powerhouse. Remember Charger is so painful after a Dash since it gives a flat +5 to damage. With this feat, you can run away after attacking your target to prepare for another charge attack. You’re like a football player.

What Mobile Is Useful For:

Taken as a partner to the Charger feat, and nothing else

3. Orcish Fury

Why You Should Consider This

Only consider this when your Barbarian is a Half-Orc. The power of this feat only activates when you score a critical hit and since you’re a Barbarian, that job is easy. Half-Orcs already have a much stronger critical hit attack due to their Savage Attacks trait, with this feat you can further that potential. For example, you're carrying a great axe. It deals 1d12 damage. During a critical hit, activate the extra damage part of this feat and you’ll be rolling a total of 5d12 tons of damage. That’s surely going to split some skulls!

What Orcish Fury Is Useful For:

Useful for mega burst of damage in one attack
This is much stronger if paired with the Piercer feat

2. Piercer

Why You Should Consider This

The only time you should consider this feat is when you’re using a Pike as your weapon and you’re a Half-Orc with the Orcish Fury feat. The goal here is to fish for critical hits since the extra dice from Half-Orcs plus the critical bonus from Piercer really works together. If you also invest 3 levels in Fighter to get the Champion subclass, your ability to critical hit increases greatly. Here’s a sample calculation: use Reckless Attack and crit on roll of 19, activate Orcish Fury and roll a total of 6d10 piercing damage. That’s not bad at all!

Why You Should Consider This

With your high Strength score and the Advantage to Strength checks during Rage, you’re a perfect grappler. This feat allows you to do a grapple check as a bonus action. So, you can do the Shove + Grapple combo where you Shove as an Action to knock your target prone then as a bonus action pin them down for your team to gang up.

What Tavern Brawler Is Useful For:

Grappling and pinning down enemies to give allied melee attackers Advantage

Which are the 5 most OP D&D barbarian builds?

Are you thinking of a new character for your D&D game? If an impulsive bloodthirsty rage is your thing then barbarian is definitely the right choice, also with the perk of being slightly less complicated while still being one of the strongest classes in the game.

In regards to roleplay, it can be really fun either playing into the cliches or subverting them into something unexpected. You can also use some awesome real life historical inspirations when building your character. Any way you look at it the barbarian is by itself a well-rounded class but here I’ll teach you how to turn it into something actually kinda OP.

For your ability scores, you should prioritize strength, followed closely by constitution and dexterity with intelligence as your dump stat. Raw it would look like this: strength (15), constitution (14), dexterity (13), wisdom (12), charisma (10) and intelligence (8).

5. Brother bear at will (when you wanna tank as soon as possible)

Bears are some of the scariest animals on our planet for a reason.

Barbarian isn’t by far the best class to multiclass with a caster, the moon druid being the exception of course. While you can’t cast or concentrate on spells while raging, the druid’s Wild Shape can be insanely helpful when tanking for your party, especially at the lower levels. And having access to magic while out of rage can be a lifesaver.

For this build go with a Half Orc Bear Totem Warrior Barbarian multiclassing into Circle of the Moon Druid. This is quite the cool combination for a tank character as you can take damage in your Wild Shape and then turn back with no damage to your character, at the lower levels this is insanely useful and can turn you into a menacing meat shield that bites back.

The Half Orc is one of the best races to play as barbarian as it gives you a +2 to your strength and +1 to your constitution. Besides that, you also get Darkvision, proficiency in intimidation, Relentless Endurance (so when you get to 0 hp but aren’t killed you drop to 1hp instead) and Savage Attacks (an extra damage dice when you crit with a melee weapon).
Already at first level Barbarian you get to Rage, also you get Unarmored Defence so that you don’t really need armor.
Come 2nd level and you’ll have Danger Sense (advantage on dexterity saving throws) and Reckless Attack (advantage on your first attack on your turn if you're using a melee weapon, but your enemies will have advantage to hit you until your next turn).
Choose the Bear as your Totem animal on the third level to gain resistance against everything but psychic damage. Then in the 14th level pick the Wolf Totemic Attunement to knock a large or smaller creature prone when you hit it with a melee attack.
In 5th level, you get the oh so sweet extra attack and on the 7th you have advantage in initiative rolls.
With 6 druid levels you get some spells and with the Circle of the Moon you can literally turn into a raging bear that is an excellent tank and at 6th levels your attacks while transformed count as magical too.

4. Sugar Baby with anger issues (if you want some magic, useful skills and a lot of roleplay flavor)

Magic can always be VERY useful, especially if it doesn't require concentration.

The warlock is an interesting class to dip into and combine with the raw power of a barbarian. With this combo you should up your charisma a little more to help with spells, but it’ll give you some nice flexibility in regards to range. Toss around some Eldritch Blasts if the enemy isn’t within the reach of your ax yet instead of rolling for something like a javelin throw.

Go for a Human Variant Totem Warrior Barbarian multiclassing into Hexblade Warlock. This multiclass’ll give a lot of bonus to attack and damage rolls as well as a pretty cool magical weapon and the Armor of Agathys spell so that you are almost always causing damage.

The human variant, besides the customizable bonus, will get you a free feat that you can use to get Dual Wielder to use two weapons and get a +1 to your AC or Great Weapon Master if you prefer the bonus to the damage.
With 8 levels of barbarian you already get a lot of awesome skills, especially rage, but also Unarmored Defence, Danger Sense, Reckless Attack, the Bear totem animal, Extra Attack and Feral Instinct.
With the warlock multiclass you already get spells, but also Eldritch Invocations. In 12 levels you should get Eldritch Smite (extra damage to your Eldritch Blast by burning spell slots), Relentless Hex (to teleport under certain circumstances), Thirsting Blade (attacking twice with the pact weapon), Improved Pact Blade (+1 to damage and attack rolls), Lifedrinker (extra damage) and Devils Eyes (seeing normally in magical darkness).
Pick the Pact of the Blade to get a magical weapon that you can conjure and the Hexblade Patron to get features like Hexblades Curse (bonus to damage rolls against the cursed and a crit on a 19 or 20) And Armor of Hexes (the possibility of dodging the attack of the cursed).
Use and abuse of the spell Armor of Agathys, it’s not a concentration spell and deals damage when someone hits you.

3. Flurry of Blows (for when you like to hit again, and again and again)

Might seem redundant to use both these classes in the same characters build, but it's not, they only complement each other insanely well.

Fighter is a very useful class to multiclass into, even if just a little bit. This build is especially great if you love to have multiple attacks early on. If you don’t hit the first time you can just try, try, try and try again, chances are you’ll hit eventually. Plus the damage when you manage to hit them all is way too sweet to resist.

For this one go with Human Variant Path of the Zealot Barbarian multiclassing slightly into Fighter. This beauty will leave you with a character that is insanely hard to truly kill and has a good amount of attacks, especially if a caster of your party decides to use Haste on you.

With the feat from Human Variant I’d go with the Dual Wielder feat.
Along with our good old rage, Unarmored Defence, Danger Sense, Reckless Attack and Feral Instinct you’ll have Brutal Critical (bonus damage to your critical melee attacks) and some more rage upgrades.
The Zealot Path gives you Divine Fury (extra damage to your first attack while raging) at 3rd level, Zealous Presence (advantage to you and your allies) at the 10th level as well as some other skills that make you VERY hard to kill.
Dip 2 levels into fighter to get the Two-Weapon Fighting Style (add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack), Second Wind (instant healing) and Action Surge (extra action once per long rest).

2. The Brute (because in the end a 20th level barbarian is something to be very afraid of)

Simple does not mean weak. This build might sound cliche, but that only depends on how you play the character.

If you’re playing for the long game and want to level up your character all the way this is the answer. With this you won’t have to worry too much with combined mechanics and still get a lot of power to play with.

Simple is good for this one, go with a Human Variant Path of the Totemic Warrior Barbarian. The barbarian is beautiful in it’s relative simplicity, not needing any multiclass to give you a very powerful and fun to play character.

With the human variant pick the Dual Wielder again to increase the number of attacks you can make.
All those awesome feats we talked about before, from rage to Unarmored Defence, Danger Sense, Reckless Attack, Feral Instinct and Brutal Critical. But now at the end you get a +4 to your strength and constitution as well as increasing their maximum scores.
Pick the bear totem on third and sixth levels for resistance to almost all kinds of damage and advantage on strength checks and the wolf on the 14th level to knock down enemies with a bonus action when you hit them.

1. Street Smarts Savagery (the unorthodox combo that works surprisingly well)

No one said you have to stick to stereotypes, breaking them can sometimes be your best choice ever.

Usually these two are opposite in personality in a party but together they make a force to be reckoned with. The barbarian brings some more durability and the rogue a finesse that is awesome to mix in character.

For this wonder duo go with a Half Orc Path of the Totemic Warrior Barbarian multiclassing into a Swashbuckler Rogue. Even with only the first few levels of each of these classes you already have a character full of bonuses that'll get more and more powerful as time goes on in the game.

The Half Orc’ll get you +2 to your strength and +1 to your constitution as well as some cool other features I’ve already described.
Then get 11 levels of the previous build mixing with 9 from the rogue. Besides all the awesome things from the barbarian like good old rage, Extra Attack and the works, the rogue will get you 4 expertises by level 6.
At the first rogue level you already have Sneak Attack (extra damage when you have advantage), then at the 2nd you get Cunning Action (dash, disengage or hide with your bonus action). Level 5 will grant you Uncanny Dodge (use your reaction to halve the damage made to you) and the awesome Evasion (half or no damage to you under certain circumstances) at the 7th level.
With the Swashbuckler you’ll have Fancy Footwork (if you make a melee attack against a creature itcan’t make opportunity attacks against you for the rest of your turn) and Rakish Audacity (bonus to your initiative and a new way to use sneak attack) right from the get-go.
