Another great year for the Indie video game industry.

As we enter the final months of 2015, let’s take a look back over some of the great Indie titles that have been released.

1. I Shall Remain

Every day is a struggle to survive.

I Shall Remain is an action role-playing game mixed with elements of survival horror. The title is set in an alternative ending to WW2 – where the Nazis have won by unleashing a deadly biohazard that transforms people into monsters. Now two brothers must together with other survivors to find a safe haven before they overwhelmed by the everyday horrors they now face.

2. Her Story

Her Story is a unique game done in the format of a FMV – a genre that was popular in the ‘90s but soon faded away after most of them were of poor quality. But many years have passed and technology has gotten much better – thus Her Story is a really good return to an old school style of gameplay.

Pay attention to the videos – they will contain important clues.

One of the biggest problems with classic FMV titles – besides silly, over-the-top performances – was the quality of the camera. Now this isn’t as big of a problem because image quality has vastly improved, and it shows when you compare Her Story to older FMV titles.

I recommend Her Story for fans of FMV or for people who never tried one out. Even if you had bad experiences with FMV games in the past, I would still consider this game because it just may redeem the value and potential of this stylized genre.

3. Party Hard

Party Hard is a…controversial game to say the least, since your goal in the title is to brutally murder party raging neighbors. And your motivating for doing so instead of calling the police? Because it’s more fun to kill.

It’s time to teach those annoying party nighters a lesson.

As you can sense by the game’s overall objective, Party Hard is a really dark but really also really silly adventure. What’s more interesting is that the developers have regularly worked on family-friendly games so it’s fascinating to see them tackle a game with a much darker subject.

4. Rack N Ruin

Who planted these ice crystals in the middle of a forest?

Rack N Ruin is a unique combination of top-down action adventure and arcade shooter. In the title you play as a magical demon bent on destroying the world. You are Rack – the creature that will bring doom to us all. But to complete your quest on total world destruction you must face against the forces of good – who will do anything and everything they can to stop you.

5. Deliverance

Deliverance is a first-person survival horror game. In this grim adventure you take the role of Victim #3 – and must escape the base of your captor with only your flashlight, stealth skill and nothing else.

This is the worst welcome party ever.

The setting is an abandoned asylum with a confusing maze-like build. The environment is also lettered with notes to help you learn more about your captor and his previous victims – but be careful that he doesn’t catch you.

6. Hoven the Sages Spinel

We’re having a very bad magic storm tonight.

Hoven is a simple game with a simple premise. But it’s what ultimately makes the game an enjoyable worthwhile time. In the game you and your party must safe Hoven from the threats of a dangerous mage. This journey will last you a good while – but Hoven also includes several secrets and side quests to extend the length of your adventure.

7. Immortal Defense

Immortal Defense features a unique narrative twist on the tower defense gameplay. The storyline of Immortal Defense, written by Jeanne Thornton, is one of the game’s strongest hooks as it turns the formal form of tower defense upside down on its head. In addition, the Steam version comes with level editor where you can produce your own content and share it online with others.

This is a tale of an epic war between muti-colored rings in the cosmos.

Immortal Defense is definitely one tower defense game you will want to try out – especially if you’re a fan of the genre.

8. Satellite Reign

It’s time to upgrade you to something more…powerful.

Set in an open cyberpunk world, Satellite Reign has you taking the reins of an elite squad of agents. As the player, you have control over your squad’s style and approach to situations – either as a whole or for specific members. The levels and areas are designed to handle scenarios in multiple ways – so don’t feel pressured about your path being wrong or right, because at the end of it all, it’s about your party making its way to the top of the corporate hierarchy.

9. Port of Call

All onboard!

Port of Call is a free to play first-person adventure game. As your tale begins you awaken on a small deck with no previous memory on how you got there. You are shortly greeted by a mysterious captain who orders you onboard his ship. Port of Call is a short experimental title focusing on story more than item collecting and its unique style is what gives the game an interesting edge above other full length adventures.

10. One More Line

May the best man (or woman) win.

One More Line is an indie title developed by SMG Studio and promoted as a highly addictive, one button, one disco, skill timing game. This perfectly sums up the game as it is a straight ford – but very engaging title with 2-4 local multiplayer and a few different unlockables.

11. Calvino Noir

He’s no Detective Cole Phelps, but he’s just as flawed and determined.

In the world of Calvino Noir, everybody is broken and has something to hide. Even the architecture and environments look as if they’re hiding a dark secret. In this world, there is no right or wrong, only doing what’s needed to stop things from getting worse.

12. Apt

Leap to freedom!

Using the abilities of your Test Suit, in Apt your mission is to reach the goal door by interacting with the environment and changing objects to help you get to the finish marker. As a first-person platformer, you’ll mostly be exploring environments and trying to finish each stage as fast as you can. As expected, the game includes a Leaderboard where you can compete to earn the best ranks.

13. Dead in Bermuda

Dead in Bermuda is a survival management title mixed with elements of role-playing and adventure. This game is a true survival simulator as members of your party can die from various hazardous elements so it’s up to you in making sure everybody is in top condition. Character development is another big pillar of the game as different members of the group can either become friends or enemies.

Everyone, please get together – and please no singing at all times.

Lastly, the world in the game is huge and can be a fun place to explore…but also extremely dangerous. So stay cautious.

14. Fran Bow

I’d always had a soft spot for any media that has a dark, creepy aesthetic. And if you’re like me, and you enjoy adventure games, then I think Fran Bow has you covered. The title is a psychological horror piece with 2D art and animation.

I hope there’s bug spray in your inventory.

For most of the title you’ll be interacting with a large cast of characters and solving puzzles of different difficulty as you make way through in the journey to find your cat.

15. Hegemony III: Clash of the Ancients

Soon my army shall become the most powerful in the lands!

Set during a time period long before Caesar, Alexander or Phillip you take control of a large army as attempt to gain control over the battlefield against your enemies. But to become a true conqueror you must carefully manage your resources – otherwise you may find yourself with nothing left to use in battle. Hegemony III also includes over 25 factions, 4 cultures, a dynamic battlefield, and a level editor to let you create your own worlds.

In the case of units occupying buildings and clearing them out, a wooden structure struck with fire-based weaponry will continue to burn until it is cinders. The weather in the game will directly affect your troops, possibly even killing them by way of frostbite.

The difficulty will be set by whichever player is hosting the match, in addition to number and type of monsters you’ll be facing.

If you’ve ever wanted to live alongside dinosaurs in a non-modernized environment, then this is the game for you.

The game modes available are team deathmatch, attacking a single base or taking control of several different points. It’s been a while since I’ve played any game that includes mecha battles, but this sound like a lot of fun.

The hordes of zombies can be quite annoying in the day, but by night a breed of them that is both super-fast and super strong stalk you. You can also make loads of weapons through crafting, over 100 possibilities in total.

If you want to see if you are greater than the most terrifying of the zombie race, then you and your friends need to play Dying Light.

There are plenty of ways to have an explosive time in this game.

This game mode will probably never die.

Starting out in Callof Duty: World at War, Zombies has you and up to three friends trying your best to survive waves of zombies. This game calls for planning; conserving your ammo and making sure the zombies don’t overwhelm all of you.

The key to surviving this game lies within teamwork. Make sure to board up as many openings as possible so that the zombies are stemmed, if not only for a little wall. Money is used to buy upgrades, weapons and access to new rooms, so make sure that you all are contributing to the latter. As the levels go on, hell hounds will join the zombie hordes, as well as more dangerous foes, so be sure not to split up and make it easier for your foe to swarm you.

This game mode has been out for such a while that any one is interested in it has probably played it. If not, and you know an unfortunate soul who hasn’t experienced the wonder of Call of Duty: Zombies, please be sure to enlighten them.

The game is done in rounds, sending in a variety of zombie-like creatures against you. In between waves, you can purchase an array of guns, melee weapons, and explosives. Advance all the way to the end of the level and you will find yourself up against the boss, who will not lie down so easily.

If your ideal game involves slaying the type of zombies only Dr. Victor Frankenstein could come up with, then you should consider purchasing Killing Floor 2.

At first glance, Armored Warfare seems a lot like World of Tanks. That would be an incorrect assumption, because the game brings some interesting elements not included in the latter.

For one, players will have the ability to use both tanks and artillery in their fights. There are five categories of armored classes to choose from, each serving a different purpose in helping win the fight. There is also the option to work with teammates against the environment or against other human mechanical troops.

If you want to experience armored warfare with all its bases covered, then perhaps you need to look into Armored Warfare.

If you’re a fan of the original game, there seems like a load of new features that only make the experience all the greater. This game could be appealing to a lot of people as well with the multiplayer system and expanded character creation.

Need for Speed: World may have been taken offline, but the gameplay is still loads of fun. There are a load of features that allowed the game to keep a loyal player base.

There are a load of fun activities for the players, like Treasure Hunt, customizing cars and the racing that the Need for Speed Franchise is known for. The single-player mode features actual traffic and police cars, who no longer will chse you if you rammed them. When the game passed one million registrations in September 8th, 2010, the level cap was removed, which was good because before you were required to pay to level up past level 10.

Despite not being able to play with people all around the world, the game has elements for the casual racing gamer. It’s also free, so it is worth a peek if you’re interested.

The hope is that not only will you be aggressive to your opponents, but will also work to avoid both natural and vehicular debris lying in the road. You have the option to buy, sell and customize vehicles, so make sure to make sure you build something that makes the demolition gods proud.

Just remember that the world is still super populated with the walking dead and you need to still be smart to survive.

If you too have dreams of building a new life amongst all the death and sorrow, then give this game a try. This has the look of a very engaging game.

A lot of this game will see you having to constantly change things on the fly. One of the surprising changes is your class, which means you can switch to something much more favorable to match your foe whenever you choose. There are also no end to quests you can do, which include faction-driven, faction-limited, dungeons, open side quests.

For those interested in folklore with a little pop-culture thrown in, The Secret World should definitely be on your list of games to play. When else will you be able to thrill your friend when you told them you joined the Illuminati.

You as the player will have loads of influence on the world, being able to destroy your environment, build your own creations, and also change all of Norrath with your choices. The classes allow you to mix and match common stereotypes to make something totally new. It really looks like a brand new world that will be yours as much as the developers.

Infinite Crisis brings together popular DC characters across the multi-verses and the MOBA genre that has become so popular as of late. Since this is playing with a franchise filled wih big fights between hero and villain, the developers have added some unique concepts to the already established blueprint.

First thing of note is that the environment is completely destructible. The maps in the game are divided up based upon game length to play them. The win conditions for the game are either you capture strategic points to drain the power on the enemy side, or just destroy the power core outright.

Unfortunately, Infinite Crisis goes offline effective August 14th, 2015. Hopefully, there will be another DC MOBA in the near future because it was a very popular game in its limited lifespan.

In addition to the typical mounts MMORPG players get, players in ArcheAge get personal ships that they must customize to fight both players and sea monsters. If you just want to get a quest over with, but manage to get past this frustrating part, you can complete a quest at the cost of a reduced experience reward. Also, all starting characters choose from three of ten skill trees to create their own class.

There are some features that are of note for people interested in playing. Friendly fire is possible and you may “accidentally” kill your opponent. Also, do well in your matches and you can get new staves, robes and…humor?

The Magicka series seems to pride itself on being humorous and fun, so if that’s your kind of game you should definitely try it out. I personally think the absence of normal MOBA mechanics in a PvP game is definitely an intriguing idea. I myself might check this out.

Combat is noteworthy, requiring the player be a lot more active than merely clicking on buttons to do battle.

I don’t know about you, but Black Desert sounds like a wonderful game with loads of engaging features. If you like your MMOs with interaction and a dynamic environment, give this game a shot.

You choose a leader of your town from three classes: Knight, Mage or Archer. You will lead a couple legions of men to find treasure, including gold, and valuable minerals. These treasures are then transferred into upgrading your buildings, which I imagine starts a rotating door of tasks.

If you enjoy games where you get a more hands-on method of gathering resources to upgrade your city, give Wartune a shot. The concept definitely seems interesting.

Tera has many features that shares with other MMOs, but it’s claim to fame lies within its combat system. Rather than simply clicking on the enemy and pushing hotkeys, you’re expected to actively be dodging and striking at your opponent. This way, you actually feel like you’re in every fight your character takes on.

If you’re as curious to see what a freeform combat system is like I am, you should give Tera game a shot. If this is the selling point Blue Hole wants to show for their game, it must be pretty spectacular.

Dirty Bomb takes place in London after a radiological attack. The game seems to play heavily on teamwork, encouraging such through allowing you to revive teammates and shortening the life of those who are the last member on their team alive.

In addition to trying to kill as many of the enemy as you can, the attackers are escorting an Extraction vehicle to a location on the map (Think the bomb escorting game on Team Fortress 2). After that, what they must do next depends on the map. The map is also filled of objects, such as machine gun turrets, which can be activated by either side to assist them.

If you enjoy games where you have to be part of a team, give Dirty Bomb a shot. If the team is very diverse, you can expect to win a lot of matches.

Rift, like the name implies, is largely focused on the players working to seal the rifts. Each dungeon encourages tactical thinking and strategies, but rewards the players handsomely upon completion. The raids are considered end-game content and contain the hardest of the game’s foes.

A game largely focused around dungeons sounds like a very interesting concept. If raiding was your favorite element of other MMOs, then you should give this game a shot.

You can play the campaign, which focuses on the ascent of the man who becomes the Lich King and other notable characters who must try and stop him. You can also play a skirmish as Humans, Orcs, Night Elves or Undead. The Frozen Thrones expansion pack introduces tow new races, the Trolls and the Blood Elves, and also adds a bunch of new content to both single-player, multiplayer and also the map editor.

Though the game is rather old, the ability to make your own scenarios or play on already made maps still makes the game incredibly interesting. There even exists a player base on multiplayer that you can play with as soon as you get some experience against the computers.

The online multiplayer is still going strong after all these years.

You and three other survivors, A.I or human-controlled depends on you, must fight your way through five maps filled with your common zombies and several types of “special infected”. Along the way, you’ll be able to pick up guns, melee weapons, explosives, and some items that will benefit you. The key is to stay together, because programming in the game is merciless if one of your team strays to far from the group.

And if you’re the competitive type, you can play against a second team of players and take turns being survivors or zombies, trying to get farther on each map of a single campaign and therefore racking up more points. If you get the game on Steam, there are loads of mods that can customize the look of both you, your friends and even the enemy. There is no excuse why fans of shooters and zombie survival games should not be playing this game.

The plot for Bless Online takes place in a medieval fantasy world where two factions are at war with each other. Players will get the opportunity to pick a side, along with a race and class, and supposedly be performing some quests that are commonly found in MMORPGs before joining the main conflict. Considering the boasts on how the game works, it begs the question of whether the plot will be affected positively by that.

No idea of when Bless Online becomes accessible to the PC community, but it certainly seems to show promise. Of course, when it comes done to it, the end decision will depend on you.

There is plenty of content for both casual players and those who have logged in hundreds of hours already into the game. There are loads of mini-games that you can play with your friends, missions that can be completed in a group or by yourself, and a whole world that you can take on by your lonesome. So long as you enjoy playing in the world of Los Santos, there will always be something for you to do.

No word out on in there is a sixth installment in development, but GTA V has plenty of content to help keep players interested and always coming back for more. If you haven’t tried out the game yet, you should really give this game a shot.

I’m also pretty sure that the heroes in DOTA 2 don’t dance.

League of Legends, whether you’ve played a MOBA or not, is definitely worth a shot. You may even find that this game is much more enjoyable than whatever you were playing previously.

The game has you in the fictional Soviet Republic territory known as Chernaus with little more than the clothes on you back. It falls to you to scrounge up what supplies you can find, but you must keep an eye out for both zombies and other scavengers who may be willing to kill you over an item. Talk about serious trust issues.

The game has become so popular that, as of this past E3, DayZ is now playable on three separate consoles. I’m seen a number of videos of gameplay on Youtube, and it looks like one of the best open-world survival games out there.

You are not alone.

Based on the title of this game, you probably wouldn’t expect it to be a science-fiction RTS. The plot is the story of three factions, the Humans, the Beta and the Goo, who wage war across the galaxy. Though their conflicts take place across the stars, most of your battles will take place on solid ground.

Each faction has their own distinct playstyle. The humans are balanced in attack and defense, the Beta faction favors speedy strikes against their opponents and the Goo favor force in massive numbers. All of the units in this game appear to be mechanized tanks and ships, which isn’t the typical route for RTS games.

Fans of games such as Command and Conquer and Supreme Commander should have a lot of fun with this game. Grey Goo claims to favor outright strategy over micro-management, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.

There are so many ways for you to wage war and take territory for your faction. Choose to fight as a soldier or a mech; fight on foot, in a tank, or a plane. Try them all and see which one you like the best.

There isn’t a game that takes place on a scale like this. If you ever had dreams of playing in a giant war, then you need to get this game. No arguments; go get it.

You can also hope that you run into a loot crate, which can hold some pretty rare stuff. If all else fails, you can always scavenge across the world and hope you get something that will help keep you alive.

If you got a knack to see how well you do in the zombie apocalypse, then you should give H1z1 a try. Get your friends together and try and work together to see how far you go.

You just can't trust anyone in a post-apocalyptic scenario.

Not too much is known about Lost Ark with the game still being worked on. The developer, Smilegate, is one of the leading Korean game developers, which may invite some credibility to how well the game can do.

Lost Ark makes the claim that it offers puzzles that require a little brain power, a ship that they may use to sail around the world, and even a chain combo system that the player will be allowed to customize. There will also be jobs through the game world that doing well in may provide you with rewards as you go duengoneering.

There hasn’t been too much news as of late, but hopefully Smilegate is still hard work making this game as exciting as it does. Diablo players and fans of similar games, the unique traits that Lost Ark boasts of rbinging should definitely put it on your radar.

Every faction has their own playstyle, so figure out which one matches how you like to play, It probably would be best to play a few dozen rounds against the A.I before heading into multiplayer, because all the people on there are probably well-versed experts.

As far as RTS games go, Starcraft 2 is probably one of the best out there. The gameplay is very well-done and the units are diverse enough that you’ll come up with a lot of strategies.

The latest installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise is here and looks as bloody and brutal as ever. Old favorites and a few new faces have come together to bring on the brutalities.

So far, there have been a number of DLCs out, bringing characters like Jason Voorhees and the Predator to the players. The fatalities and x-ray attacks are brutal and yet, at the same time, quite creative. You can even interact with your environment, grabbing both zombies and old ladies and tossing them into your opponent’s face.

Overall, if you enjoyed Mortal Kombat games before, this is definitely going to be loads of fun for you. You’ll spend hours on end trying to figure out the combos on your favorite characters, and beating your opponent into a bloody mess.

This new guy seems pretty rock-solid.

It’s time to hit the streets again. Ryu, Chun-Li and all the other characters are back in action, along with some new faces. Be ready to pull off plenty of flashy combos and a few old favorites too.

The graphics on this game look fantastic, making sure every blow you land on your foe dazzle with special effects. Every fighter even has witty phrases they utter when the match starts. The gameplay seems very fluid too, making sure you have a very cinematic fight, start to finish.

The fifth installment of Street Fighter is currently being worked on, so this will be the perfect way to keep up the hype. There will be a lot of people playing this over the next couple years, so it makes sense to get in there and join in the good times.

One day, the prayers to the pantheon of Goddesses went unanswered. Soon after, a giant tree grew in the middle of the capitol city, laying waste to a great part of the city. The people did not have time to mourn, for the fauna growing around the tree turned into monsters and began attacking everything in sight.

The game starts four years after that disastrous day, where people have begun talking of dreaming of the goddess. This would be where you step in, one who will set out to determine whether the world is saved or doomed. You apparently won’t be alone, because there will be an option to bring companions along.

There isn’t too much on the game right now, but what info that is revealed looks somewhat intriguing. Beta Testing will be taking place on August 4th and go for a week. If you’re interested, check out the website for more news and updates.

Vindictus is an MMO that is a sequel to Mabinogi, both free-to-play games that were made in Korea. Take control of one of nine characters, each one supposedly different from the others.

In addition to different playstyles, each player uses skills based solely on what weapons they’re wielding. For example, a player wielding a spear will only have access to skills that affect a spear. Whatever skills you decide to do, you will be putting them up against a race of monstrous humanoids, called Fomors, who humanity believes they can destroy.

The game is divided up into episodes, where you will be tasked with the leading the human fight. You will also be dealing with problems caused by humanity and even yourself. The game definitely looks intriguing, and you don’t lose if it’s free.

If you enjoy military games, then World of Tanks is one you definitely need to check out. When else will you be able to play as a tank the entire time? There’s a lot of fire power that you’ll be able to unleash on your opponent.

There have been two expansion packs so far, and loads of cards and play strategies to choose from.

Path of Exile is a game for all you hoarders out there, because doing well in the game centers all around on your items. Anything from the objects in your inventory to the skills you take as you level up will all be considered “items”.

The skill tree is also interesting. Every class in Path of Exile has the same skill tree, but they all start in different corners of it. That means you will eventually be able to multi-class when you’re in the higher levels. So much for having to pick only one class and sticking to it.

If anything, Path of Exile is worth a shot based on their interesting mechanics with items and skills. And when you get your friends to play with you, you can all be competitive little hoarders together.

6. Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward

If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, then I imagine you have been excited for this game. The expansion to FF XIV will expand the world of Eorzea, Coerthas Central Highlands and the Sea of Clouds. It also offers new races and classes.

There is so much new stuff that I possibly couldn’t fit it all into this game. New worlds means new creatures, and possibly new modes of transportation. There is an increased level cap to 60, and several new dungeons for you to engage in along the way to that new level.

If you’re a fan of the game, you probably are already on your way to playing this game. Seeing all the new stuff that the game contains will be quite exciting.

No one shall be spared or overlooked.

5. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Time to advance this war one step further.

Stepping into a brand new storyline, players will be working for a paramilitary organization that will work to save the world and answers to no one. But of course, that means the head can do whatever he wants, which may be bad in most cases. This is an exception though because the head of this organization is voiced by Kevin Spacey.

The campaign is loads of un, but it’s not the only new aspect in this game. In the multiplayer, you will be fitted with an exo-suit that will allow you to soar across the battlefield. Now you’ll be flying like an eagle and shooting like a badass action hero in every match.

The Zombie game mode that Call of Duty players are used to are also got an upgrade, yet another fact that makes Advanced Warfare loads of fun. Just seeing how much the exo-suit changes how you play the game is reason enough to play this game.

4. World of Warcraft (WoW)

Possibly one of the most famous online games ever, World of Warcraft has created a living, breathing world that millions of players inhabit every day. Based on the lore first introduced in the WarCraft games, WoW brings tons of content of players, already putting out five games in the series already.

Everyone will start out as choosing a race, picking between the righteous Alliance and the more confederate Horde, and finishing by selecting from a dozen or so classes. After that, the world is pretty much open to do as you wish. Level up, get cool armor, pick up a trait, raid dungeons, take on the opposing faction, participate in holiday events or just dance.

World of Warcraft is free for everyone up until you hit level 20. That means there is no reason to get on and see what millions of others are already experiencing. After that, you can decide whether you want to pay $15 a month or not.

3. Counter-Strike: GO

All that, AND cross-platform play?!

Fans of the original Counter-Strike will have already bene playing this latest game in the series. The fast-paced, five versus five, gameplay has only gotten better with new characters, weapons and updated game modes. What has already bene good has gotten better.

For those unfamiliar to the series, and if so shame on you, players will play as either a terrorist or counter-terrorist and take part of a number of game modes (Team Deathmatch, Elimination, Hostages or Bomb planting). At the beginning of the match, every player will either have to pick out their weapons and equipment or will be choosing from an established load out. You’ll get more money your opponent and completing the objective, which are what you would expect a terrorist or counter-terrorist to have to do.

Do you like fast-paced games that have you saving lives or ruining them? Do you do well at Call of Duty and have an itchy trigger-finger. Then perhaps you need to be playing Counter-Strike: GO if you aren’t already.

I don't think this is a good direction to go towards.

2. Heroes of The Storm

The crossover universe just keeps getting bigger.

Heroes of The Storm is the new MOBA put out by Blizzard. It features characters from across all of Blizzard’s games, including Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft. All the maps will be based on places in those game universes, so this sounds like a beautiful crossover of memorable characters from a great company.

Like any MOBA, HOTS has multiple roles that every player will be able to play. If you’re a veteran of MOBA games, then you should be able to do great in this game once you have your champion of choice figured out. Each map will also have side-quests that players can do to give them an upper hand against the enemy, so nothing new to make Heroes of The Storm stand out from others in its genre.

If you are a fan of any of Blizzard’s games, then you should look into giving this game a shot. Even if it’s not the type of game you normally will play, who wouldn’t want to watch some of your favorite Blizzard characters fighting each other?

DOTA 2 is perhaps the most popular MOBA game out today. Hosting thousands of tournaments, where participants can earn cash prizes, and also laying the groundwork for other games like it can build upon. It’s been five years since this game has been out, but it is still going strong.

For those unfamiliar with the game, DOTA 2 has you selecting from a large selection of champions, all who fit somewhere within five roles needed to succeed in the game, and work with four other characters to destroy the enemy nexus. Standing between you and that goal are waves of minions, defensive towers and five other human-controlled champions. You’ll need to use your champion’s skills, teamwork, and items that boost your champion’s effectiveness that are purchased from the shop at your starting point.

What makes DOTA 2 worth playing after all this time is that there is so much popularity around the game. Assemble a team and work well together and there could be a cash prize in it for you. The game promotes teamwork and a lot of tactical thinking, so you can really become a great gamer through playing this.

If it's too quiet, that's a bad sign.

Aside from being a brunette bombshell, Quiet is a total badass. Reminding players of Sniper Wolf in MGS, this sharp shooting beauty pegs enemies down and opens lots of fun ambushing options in the game.

Anytime Bethesda announces a new title, PC gamers rejoice. That’s because new Bethesda games mean new toolkits, and new toolkits, mean new mods! The most notorious modding community would be Skyrim, though, Fallout 3 and Fallout NV are no pushovers when it comes to great mods.

Why We Love Mods

Community mods can keep a game alive forever. I must have installed Skyrim and Fallout NV at least a dozen times each since their releases because every couple months something insane comes out that knocks the pants off your standard DLCs.

War Trash Trailer

War Trash is a content mod which adds hours of gameplay to Fallout NV. The mod forces players to go undercover to expose a climbing danger. When your developer runs out of DLC ideas, modders step up.

With Fallout 4’s new building and management features, we can only imagine what kind of expansive mods are going to stem from.

Moonpath Trailer

Moonpath is a mod for Skyrim which takes players to the realm of the Khajiit. It features hours of polished content and test, a brand new story, and engaging new features.

Reason 5 Free Updates:

Insanely detailed graphics mod.

Mods make dated games look amazing. Modders love taking low-res textures and making them picture perfect.

Fallout 4 already looks amazing compared to it’s predecessors, but were wowed with next-gen graphics every console launch. And if you’re a PC gamer, you’re exposed to insane graphic demos nearly every month. It’s safe to say that eventually Fallout 4 will look just as dated as Fallout 3 does now. That’s where the mods come in.

Fallout 3 was a spectacular wasteland, but after years of exploration, players wanted to lift the grimey filters a little bit.

This is a simple clarity mod, toning down on the air pollution. In this case, gamers quickly realized that the filter choice would limit ranged capabilities. So, they fixed it themselves. Having a good modder community means there’s more hands ready to polish.

With the power to create anything, sometimes sexy happens. Augmented armor let’s you play in the attire you want. Look sharp, keep your stats. We can’t wait to see attires like these in the new engine.

Guerilla warfare never looked so good. Creating new characters with mods is infinitely more fun, especially when they look as great as this. I can't stop marveling over how well fit her straps are.

Great looking mods probably explains why my moddable games have way more hours clocked into them. We can only hope the Fallout 4 Toolkit comes out as soon as possible. As of right now, creators are focusing on maximum polish for launch, but promises a Toolkit to follow as soon as possible.

Reason 3. More Than Just Visuals:

Existence 2.0 is an awesome radio mode mod for those of us who get tired of listening to the same old-timey tunes on loop. You’ll get treated to a terrifying robot DJ and an entourage of creepy ambient music that puts you into the heart of armageddon.

Tweaks to traveling system with ATM mod

Modders have made great impacts on making the duller moments of gaming a thing of the past. Fallout 3 and earlier Bethesda titles lacked the ability to fast travel. Modders have implemented instance travel points to lighten the load on your feet.

Reason 2. Easy As Pie:

Mods used to be a pain in the butt to install, and they still are for some games, but with each new release, mods are getting better user-end support. Best of all, we’re not breaking our game files nearly as often and reinstalling our games four times.

Nexusmods.com have been a great resource for years now, catalogging, rating, and listing mods. They’ve made their own mod manager to help gamers easily download, install, and play.

Steam Workshop has been a great tool to easily subscribe to player mods, making mod installs as easy as a single click.

Reason 1. Console Mods?

There’s been a lot of promise for modding capabilities on consoles, specifically, XboxOne. The possibility for PS4 mods may come later, but no promises yet. Still, streamlining mod use for consoles is a giant step for the future of gaming.

We hope more games will follow suit and share the love PC gamers have known for years. How wonderful would it be to have something like Steam Workshop on your console? Let’s keep the dream alive because the answer is “awesome”.

If you haven’t seen the official nine-minute gameplay trailer for Fallout 4, you should do so now. I can only imagine what kind of mods we’re going to sink our teeth into a year from now.

Fallout and Skyrim are still being played religiously years after their release. Here’s hoping we’ll be playing Fallout 4 until the next title comes along.

When gamers sit too comfortably in their computer chairs, it’s a dull day. Horror fans enjoy having their brains itched and their skin crawl. But quality horror games are hard to dig up. So here’s a top 5 of upcoming, bone shivering horror to keep your eyes on.

Here’s to a great year for PC Horror fans. AAA games and Indie developers are finnally treading the haunted waters we’ve been dreaming of. Now, it’s time for the witching hour.

Number 5. Draugen

Turning back the clock to 1920

Draugen is capturing hearts with it’s gorgeous environmental landscapes. But it wants gamers to look deeper than it’s stunning visuals.

But seriously, take a look at this trailer -so serene.

So, what’s the big deal?

Red Thread Games is digging deep into Scandinavian literature and Mythology. As the developers of Dreamfall, this caught the Norwegian Film Institute’s attention and $144,000 development grant!

The story begins in a small fishing community mysteriously void of human life. Nordic mythologies come to life as the player attempts to understand what took place on the haunted waterfront. Disturbing details surface as the player looks behind the mask of the false serenity of this place.

You should know that Draug means undead. the Draug rest in watery graves they call home and stop at nothing to protect what is dearest to them.

Keep an eye out for the PC release later this year. The developers will launch a Kickstarter campaign to gather funding to port the game to VR devices. This Kickstarter campaign is not expected to stall the initial PC release.

Number 4. Kodoku Chronicles

If I say yes, will this screen go away? Let me think it over.

For our fourth pick, we’re going a little more indie and a lot more bizarre. Kodoku is aiming to create a lasting memory in the minds of horror fans worldwide. Whether or not it’s going to launch is another story.

Developer’s Carnivore Studio is struggling with funding but fans are still holding on hope that the project will pull through.

Why should we keep pushing for Kodoku Chronicles?

The folks at Carnivore are trying to establish a haunted world based on Japanese folklore with Lovecraftian twists, delving into the psychotic. Despite the team’s struggles, the playable visual novel is seething with bloody and intriguing art.

Classic adventure game mechanics are said to guide the player between pivotal plot points. These deceivingly simple mechanics build up the intensity between climatic moments. The art makes me wonder what Silent Hill would have looked like with a tighter budget.

What we do know about the combat system is that it works based on a variety of spells and luck. Weaknesses vary between monsters. Magic does not come from a typical mana pool, rather is casts through the player’s health-bar, taking a blood sacrifice.

This means players will have to balance when to fight and when to run.

But the real meat of the game comes through player choices in an interactive visual novel format. Players will encounter disturbing scenes and be forced to make life altering decisions on the spot.

Between the vat of acid and the peculiarly dressed beauty -sensory overload

Kodoku Chronicles still remains a mystery to hopeful players. The project failed to hit its Kickstarter campaign goals, yet managed to be Greenlit through Steam, keeping horror fans’ fingers crossed. We only hope the developers find a way to release this project in the near future.

Number 3. Soma

Creators of Amnesia take us on another trip to the obscure

Soma has been the pet project of Frictional Games since 2010. Five years in the works, and it’s still not expected to launch for a few more months. One of the largest hang-ups in the game development has been the evolution of Amnesia’s run-away tactics to implement something less predictable.

The studio hasn’t fully divulged what we can expect to do when we encounter enemies, but a step away from hiding would be a welcome turn of events.

Naturally, any horror game worth its salt would safeguard the secrets of its story. But here’s a gist of the setting in the game’s own language.

“The radio has gone silent... isolation bears down on the saff... strange things are happening. Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare.”

In place of the journal entries and letters of Amnesia, SOMA will place audio logs on dead bodies scattered about the game. We can expect these logs to be the primary source of narration as players piece together Frictional’s new story.

Number 2. Overkill’s The Walking Dead

Another dev team takes on The Walking Dead. Creators of Payday, work to bring a new experience to a familiar franchise.

For the first time ever The Walking Dead will be a co-op experience.

We’re assuming The Walking Dead’s co-op to work as simply as Payday’s drop in and go style. How will this affect the story and will their be separate campaigns? That’s what we’re waiting to find out.

While we know Overkill is dropping a ton of heart-pumping action into the development process, we are optimistic that the horror of The Walking Dead’s universe will pull through.

The team has been actively talking about moving the game to a VR platform, which has us all looking at the Oculus Rift, but no specifics have been confirmed yet. Still, we can’t wait to see what The Walking Dead would look like through VR eyes.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is due out in 2016. The game is currently announced for PC, XboxOne, and PS4.

Number 1. Perception

Who turned out the lights? Deep End Games did. Developers from BioShock and Dead Space teamed up to start a brand new studio. Behold their haunting creation, Perception.

Project fully funded with over $180,000 dollars in donations

Perception tries out a new take on atmospheric horror by turning out the lights in a new way. Players will become immersed in the game through Cassie, a blind protagonist who has to rely on navigating through sound. This doesn’t mean the team is skimping on visuals; instead, Deep End Gamadd their own unique twist to what visual means.

Walk through a haunting world with Daredevil vision

So, how does it work?

That blue filter you see is a representation of echoing sounds. Erie footsteps will guide your path through a haunted mansion. As the game progresses, new sounds will illuminate your path. Creaking boards will create ripples in your sonar, potentially disorienting the player.

Following the spooky tradition of Lovecraftian horror, dreams of New England’s haunted grounds plague the dreams of our seemingly normal protagonist. Carrie dreams of an estate at a place called Echo Bluff. Mysteries spiral as players experience the game, sometimes leaving the player feeling helpless, unable to control when and what is visible.

Since its successful Kickstarter campaign, there’s been talk of some extended game modes we’re anxious to see, including a “Mode 7” in which the player will need to enter the house with an extra digitized retro filter, which makes sound resemble Poltergeist-style white-noise. Developers have also talked about VR possibilities.

For now the game is looking at a PC release through Steam, although preorders for physical copies can be snagged on their Kickstarter.

10 Bloody Reasons For Honor Is The Next Chivalry

Ubisoft takes us into the new era of swordplay with their new gruesome IP, For Honor. Hope you’re ready for some gorey hack and slash, because we’re expecting this game to become the next staple in competitive sword and board combat.

Here’s 10 reasons you should be twitching to migrate those combat skills of yours to For Honor.

Reason 10. Diversity

Warriors, Come Out To Play.

For Honor is based in historical combat, no magic, no flying gryffin mounts. But it’s not the standard knights charging knights we’ve grown used to in Chivalry.

For Honor spans the globe, seizing the deadliest fighters across continents. When the game releases it will be packed with Knights, Vikings, and Samurai, all eager to dice the other to oblivion.

Female warriors will also step into the fray, which is a nice change from the armies of male-exclusive combat we’ve grown accustomed to.

Named heroes are expected to be playable on release date. This is an extra perk for me, as I find playing Chivalry’s same grunt soldiers each game somewhat repetitive.

Reason 9. AI Fills The Ranks

Fodder For The Blade

Players aren’t the only ones clashing swords. Bots will fill the fields of war, making battles massive and extra bloody. After All, what kind of war is fought between 10 players?

That’s more like it!

Small teams are all well and good for Counter Strike but I like my medieval siege to look more... well, like a siege.

Killing AI isn’t just for fun, even though it’s bound to be fun. Players can rank up their score counter by taking dozens of these guys out. There’s the possibility that this score will be directly linked to player xp and leveling up, so, go get your hands bloody.

Reason 8. More Abilities

If The Sword Misses, The Boulder Will Hit.

Taking a page from big name AAA war games. For Honor is rewarding the players with added perks. Your D-Pad will be your key to using special skills as you rack up the kills.

Rain hell.

Knock your enemies out of the Iron Age by pinpointing catapult attack from the sky. We’re expecting this to work similarly to modern war games’ missile strikes. Only, this looks way cooler.

There will also be player buffs, and healing skills, making builds more flexible and helpful and critical to your teams’ victory. A war is not fought alone.

Reason 7. Flair

Give Them Blood, But Make It Look Pretty.

For Honor’s Combat is almost entirely timing and reaction based. But perfect timing with a heavy strike will earn you a stunning killing blow. It’s nice to be rewarded with badass animations.

Who said decapitation couldn’t be beautiful?

With epic kill screens, comes epic screenshots. We can’t wait to see the player community flood the internet with killcams and gorey screens after launch.

Reason 6. Game Modes

Keeping Combat Fresh

For Honor is keeping us on our toes by switching up the familiar team-death match we’ve grown too comfortable with. At E3, Ubisoft showed off Dominion mode, which spans a large play area.

In Dominion, players fight to control a series of territories -think king of the hills only there are many hills. This adds a stronger focus on team play and strategy.

Pushing the lane with minions

Not a team player? That’s okay, For Honor is promising something for everyone. Ubisoft announced a variety of game modes that will be ready to play at launch.

We can expect to see a lot of familiar archetypes found in pretty much every competitive combat game, as well as some new unique modes to sharpen our swords for.

Reason 5. Multiple Platforms

Ubisoft Casts A Wide Net

When the game launches, PC Gamers won’t be the only ones to feel the love this time. There is a severe lack of games like Chivalry on consoles. Mostly due to the lack of AAA companies’ interest in the genre.

We’re thankful that Ubisoft is working hard to share the gorefest with all gamers. Currently, we’re looking at PS4, XboxOne, and PC releases. Ubisoft's been known to cover every platform possible with their games, so that list may grow longer in the coming months.

We’re doubting that cross-platform play will be a feature, but it’s still something to consider. It’s just a very difficult thing to balance in competitive genres. So, you might want to start figuring out which version you and your friends need to pick up.

Reason 4. No Button Mashing

It’s Dead, Stop Clicking

90% of your controls are coming through your analog sticks. As you can see, holding the right-stick in any direction raises your guard in that direction. But how will this translate to PC.

Interesting Choice of Controls

Players will need to use timing to catch the enemy’s blade at the last moment to make their counter attack as effective as possible. For Honor punishes button mashers, making poorly timed moves leave dangerous openings in their defenses.

Hacking and slashing will simply not be enough.

Timing is everything

After an opening appears, you’ll want to dive in to finish fights quickly. Death comes fast in For Honor. Health bars exist but a swift strike to the neck will take anybody down.

Throw your opponent off balance and strike when the opportunity’s hot!

How will these controls carry over to PC though? I’m all for dynamic combat but I’m hoping for intuitive mouse and keyboard controls. But, we might just have to suck it up and use a controller.

Reason 3. Customization

It’s rare to have any amount of character customization in an FPS, but Ubisoft has you covered, literally.

Looking good for the Valkyries

You’ll be able to collect and unlock new armor, colors, patterns, capes, helmets, belts... well, you get the idea. Basically, you’ll be able to deck you fighter out head to toe with hard earned apparel.

What better way is there to show off your achievements than by wearing them in battle? We like this decision. No doubt Ubisoft does too, because this means lot’s of potential DLC.

Reason 2. Enthusiasm

Excited Devs Keep The Spark Alive

Developers for this game seem even more excited than the fans. It’s great to see distinct personalities coming together to make something great. They’ve been completely open to in depth interviews and want us to know as much about this project as possible.

Jason VandenBerghe is the leading director and he always looks this happy.

I saw Jason’s face and immediately recalled the bearded viking screenshot -I just had to do a side by side comparison. This project has been his dream for ages. Seeing it become a reality makes a AAA title feel more relatable.

Gamers celebrate hardest

Reason 1. Single Player Campaign

The best news about For Honor that others in the genre can’t compete with, is a full on single player campaign... and wait for it... a story! This is the most exciting news.

It’s a little harsh to ask players to drop $60 dollars on a game that requires a constant internet connection. The single player will be a full on game in itself which makes me all the more eager to run out to pick up a copy on launch day.

I understand that gamers don’t play Chivalry for the story, but in a game so unforgiving, having a meaningful single player option will definitely draw in more gamers, and give us a much funner way of honing our skills.

2015’s turning out a pretty swell year for us gamers. And even though we’re already past the halfway point, it looks like we still have more to look forward to.

Here, then, are the 12 New PC Games That You Must Play in 2015. You’ve probably already played some of these, while the others have yet to be released. Either way, we’re pretty sure these are the games that will tattoo 2015 in our minds as one of the best years in gaming.

12. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

It’s about time they set one of these games in England.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate takes place in London during the twilight years of the Industrial Revolution. Aside from being able to switch between two main characters – Jacob Frye and his sister Evie – we can expect lots of new things from the game. Envy Batman and his grappling hook? The rope launcher makes scaling walls a cinch. It can even be used as a zip-line to make traveling between rooftops faster.

Judge, jury, executioner

Of course, it wouldn’t be late 1800s London if you didn’t have a cane that hides a sword. Hey, you even get to wear a top hat!

This time, you’re up against London’s criminal underworld, which is controlled by – you guessed it – the Templars. On your side are the likes of eminent biologist Charles Darwin, and author Charles Dickens.

To be launched this Q4, expect carriage chases, rooftop rumbles, and lots and lots of references to tea and crumpets!

11. Pillars of Eternity

We’ve been waiting for years for a Baldur’s Gate sequel. And while Pillars of Eternity isn’t that sequel, it certainly looks, feels, and plays like the best Baldur’s Gate game that never was.

The game takes place in the fantasy realm of Eora. After a supernatural phenomenon blows up in your face, you find yourself with the curious ability to see souls and people’s past lives. Now the Watcher, you embark on a quest to solve the mystery behind Drywood’s “hollowborn” – infants born without souls.

The game features tactical, party-based combat that can be paused any time to allow you to issue commands to your party members. Add to this an engaging story, well-written characters, beautiful visuals, and a world that evolves depending on your decisions, and Pillars of Eternity is one of the best new PC games of 2015.

There are more than 18 quintillion planets. Don’t ask us how many that is, because it’ll just blow your mind. You can visit all of them, of course – provided you live for a thousand years.

Each planet has a unique ecosystem, and resources that you can gather to upgrade your items. You can even purchase your own starship! If all that sounds like a science fiction fan’s dream come true, that’s because it is.

It’s innovative and looks gorgeous to boot, making us wish there were more new PC games like it.

9. Ori and the Blind Forest

Few games this year touched our hearts the way Ori and the Blind Forest did.

A forlorn creature finds comfort in a strange luminous being called Ori. Then tragedy strikes, and the forest in which they live descends into darkness and decay. What follows is a tale of loss, suffering, and ultimately, hope.

In this stunningly animated side-scrolling platformer, Ori plunges into a labyrinthine world fraught with danger. Well-crafted environmental puzzles will challenge your mind, while monsters and traps will test your reflexes and skill. 7. XCOM 2

We loved us some alien-blasting fun in turn-based tactical strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown. This year, we’ll be handing more alien invaders their sorry behinds in XCOM 2.

20 years after the events of the first game, the aliens have conquered Earth. But all hope is not lost. The remains of XCOM, now traveling in their mobile base Avenger, have plans to reclaim our home.

Ready to take down some alien scum!

With a squad of soldiers, players are tasked with killing or capturing aliens. Doing so entails the strategic exploitation of the environment, the timely use of your tools, and using the enemy’s own strengths against them.

And when not liquefying malevolent extraterrestrials, you’ll be researching technology to give you the upper hand in battle.

6. Call of Duty: Black Ops III

A fan of science fiction and military shooters? You’ll get a kick out of Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

The game is set in 2065, a dystopian future where military technology is so advanced that wars are fought in secret by covert operatives, and robots and supersoldiers are the norm. In fact, there’s a rising fear that robots might one day take over. Anything that sounds like the beginning of The Matrix and Terminator is cool with us!

The campaign will support cooperative gameplay and allow players to customize their character. Multiplayer comes with new playable classes (each with their own unique ability) and weapon customization. There’ll even be a Zombie mode with its own storyline!

One of the new PC games we just can’t wait for, Black Ops III will be seeing a November 2015 release.

5. Cities: Skylines

Those disappointed with 2013’s SimCity can find solace in Cities: Skylines, one of the best new PC games released this year.

As can be expected from a city-building game, you’re tasked with developing a small settlement into a bustling metropolis. It’s not as easy as dropping buildings onto a virtual game board, though; there are numerous considerations to take into account, from road placement to taxes.

You’ve also got the happiness and health of your people to think about. Too much pollution, and people will be blowing factory smoke out their noses. Not enough jobs, and you’ll have people sharing their meals with rats and cockroaches. Unhappy citizens make an unhappy city!

Skylines is open-ended, so you can build for as long as you want. What better way to spend all those sleepless nights?

4. Star Wars: Battlefront

It’s a good thing those awful prequels didn’t kill the Star Wars franchise, otherwise we’d never have awesome games like the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront.

Battlefront is a first and third-person shooter that has you assuming the role of either a soldier of the Rebel Alliance or an Imperial Stormtrooper. You then raise hell of George Lucas proportions in worlds like Tatooine, Hoth, and Endor as you attempt to wipe the other side out.

You won’t always be on foot. Remember those amazing vehicles from the original trilogy, like the X-Wings, speeder bikes, and fearsome AT-ATs? You’ll be able to drive many of them. You can even play as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader, or Boba Fett. Now that’s giving fans what they want!

Missions are cooperative in nature, meaning you have to play with either a team of bots or other players. Meanwhile, the multiplayer supports up to 40 people. It’s not called Star Wars for nothing.

We’re betting this will be one of the greatest new PC games this year, whether or not you’re a fan of Star Wars!

3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Few games are as massive – both in scale and in the amount of things they give you to do – as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. There are so many quests, secrets, and activities that it’ll likely take anyone over 100 hours to complete the game.

But the best thing about this RPG is the sense of immersion it provides. For every significant choice you make, you shape the world in ways you’ll rarely anticipate. All that suffering in the world? You can help change that. Or you can be the cause of it.

2. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Every new installment of the Metal Gear Solid franchise gives us something new to salivate over, and in this regard, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain aims to please.

The game will be set in several sets of huge open worlds, which means players will have dozens of new options to approach every mission. These worlds can be explored on foot, behind the wheel of a vehicle, or on your belly (‘cause you know, you’re a sneaker). You’ve also got friends to help you out. Prefer your help on the cute and furry side? Get DD, your pet wolf, to rip your enemies’ throats for you. Want some eye candy to get you through some tough times? There’s the mute sniper Quiet, who can murder foes from afar. Then there’s D-Walker, a heavily armed robot.

In addition to the stealth action gameplay, the game has base-building elements, as you can develop your items at your headquarters between missions. You can also recruit enemy soldiers to increase the size of your army.

1. Fallout 4

It’s Fallout. ‘Nuff said.

Well, okay, perhaps you’ve never played any of the post-apocalyptic Fallout games and need some convincing.

How about an enormous, painstakingly detailed open world that’s been ravaged by global nuclear war? The remnants of a retro-futuristic culture that effortlessly merges 1950s America with crazy technology such as giant robots, laser rifles, cloning, and genetic engineering? Hundreds of quests revolving around the world’s unusual mix of denizens, from friendly zombies to Hulk-like mutants? Moral choices that shape the world around you?

Fallout 4 will include all these concepts and introduce new ones such as base-building, complex armor and crafting systems, and more. Not to mention this time, your cute canine companion Dogmeat can’t die!

We can also expect the return of the excellent combat system that lets you switch between first and third-person views, as well as more exciting abilities that you can learn as you level up.

We’re confident Fallout 4 will be one of the best new PC games this year!

The excellent Grand Theft Auto V was released this year for the PC, but technically, the game first came out in 2013, so it’s not exactly new anymore.

Everyone agrees Batman: Arkham Knight is an incredible game, but its PC version is currently broken. Let’s hope they fix those problems, soon!

Of course everyone is waiting for StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. Unfortunately, there’s a possibility it might not even be released this year, but early next year.

Horror fans across the board, 2015 is in full swing! It brought with it a slew of horror games just ready to eat you alive and keep you awake forever. If you'd been putting off washing your pants, there are plenty of PC games ready to get you motivated.

With all that in mind, let us proceed with 10 PC Games That Will Scare Your Pants Off In 2015!

1. Outlast 2

Following the massive success of of Outlast and the DLC Outlast: Whistleblower, Red Barrels have teased at a sequel due out in 2015. They have, so far, been very quiet on if it will tie in with events at the Mount Massive asylum or not.

For fans of the original game, that was dubbed the next Amnesia at PAX East, Outlast 2 is a welcome cold chill down the back of the spine.

Be sure and have your cameras ready, kiddies. You wouldn't want to miss a good shot.

2. Five Nights At Freddy's 4

After the release of Five Nights at Freddy's 3, it seemed like a good deal of the questions had been answered. Players knew the fate of the killer, though not his identity, and it seemed like the spirits haunting the animatronics were finally at rest.

Then, Scott announced the fourth installment. Fans were curious, and then horrified when images began to appear on his website depicting the already frightening animatronics in full terror mode. Despite the stated release date, Scott released the fourth game on July 23rd 2015 in his usual fashion.

3. Resident Evil Revelations 2

Riding on the tails of a Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil Revelations, Resident Evil Revelations 2 has been well anticipated. Set between Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, the game follows Claire Redfield and the daughter of Barry Burton, Moira. Barry himself was also revealed as a protagonist and is joined by a little girl named Natalia, who has supernatural abilities.

Seeing first an episodic release and then a full retail release in early 2015, Resident Evil Revelations 2 proved to be an interesting revisit to the horror franchise.

If you are a fan of the series, or need something to wake you up, this one is certainly worth checking out.

4. SOMA

From the studio that brought horror fans Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Penumbra comes a new entry – SOMA. The game puts players on PATHOS-2, a station where things have gone terribly awry and the only way out is to do something unspeakable.

This is another game that puts the crime in the hands of the player. If visceral horror mixed with psychological horror is something that gets under your skin, keep an eye out for SOMA.

5. Kodoku

Self-published horror is the most unrestrained

Kodoku Chronicles, a game that saw a recent Greenlight on Steam and features some pretty disturbing imagery. With its amazing art and atmosphere, Kodoku and Kodoku Chronicles (as it is called on Steam) are all about exploration and survival.

Fans of hardcore Asian horror will get a kick out of this game – a kick from the paramedics trying to revive you, anyways. The less said about Kodoku, the better. Consider it a “you have to play it and see for yourself”.

6. Hellraid

Hell opens, demons erupt from every pore of the Earth and the people need a demon slayer. Any volunteers? Featuring a very gothic atmosphere with visuals right out of a Medieval dungeon, Hellraid is an FPP combat game that puts you in charge of taking care of demons.

With some excellent enemy and level design, Hellraid is sure to have some ducking for cover or running away.

Demon-slaying isn't too bad, don't worry. Life-insurance might be good, though.

7. Draugen

A haunting trip into Norway's legends.

Draugen, taken from Draug or “ghost” in Norwegian, is a psychological horror game from Red Thread Games. It is planned to be heading to Kickstarter soon. From the site's information, it will feature an American exploring the old coastal region of Norway and experiencing horror of fantasy proportions.

With stunning visuals, an interesting premise and a promised blend of myth meets mental-health destroyer, Draugen looks like it will be absolutely a terrifying experience.

8. Doom

The Doom franchise, a pioneer in FPS and horror, appears to be making a comeback. With Bethesda announcing a hopeful release in 2016 after being pushed back, many fans are hopeful that they will see the game put the glory back in the series after the mixed reviews of Doom 3.

While you may not be able to play it in 2015, you can certainly prepare yourself for the intense gameplay that has been teased from Bethesda.

Welcome back, old friend.

9. Call of Cthulhu

The atmosphere alone is worth at least a whimper.

Call of Cthulhu, a successor to the terrifying Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, was announced recently by Focus Home Interactive and Frogwares. They are known for a good group of games together, including the Sherlock Holmes games. Since its announcement, the game has become very hush-hush and not much else has emerged about it.

Almost as mysterious as Lovecraftian lore itself, no? Gamers and Lovecraft fans are anxiously awaiting more news or sign of Call of Cthulhu. If it is as scary as its older brother, you can rest assured that you won't be resting anytime soon.

10. Human Element

Another game that asks a lot of uncomfortable questions.

Thirty-five years after a zombie apocalypse, survivalist factions are warring for what resources and food remain. From Robotoki, Human Element is just as the title suggests – a survival horror game with some deeper implications. Sometimes, it is not what the game presents to us that is frightening, but rather the questions it raises.

Aiming for a release in November, Human Element has horror fans excited. If you are a fan of games that allow / make you do awful things to survive, or survival games in general, Human Element may very well be a great game to explore.

Roller Coaster Tycoon World Gameplay: 10 Interesting Facts About This Awesome Game

Build Yourself a Theme Park

That is always what Roller Coaster Tycoon games have been about. You have a park and it’s your job to fill it with rides, attractions, shops, and stalls to entertain hundreds—perhaps thousands of guests. The general fanbase also talks about purposefully crashing coasters, charging for bathrooms, and putting “No Entry” signs in front of the park exit, but more on that later.

Roller Coaster Tycoon World is shaping up to be a return to the wonderful world of building your own amusement parks, completing the objectives, and moving on to the next park. You will truly be a Coaster Tycoon.

So, let’s see what this game is all really about.

1. First and Foremost…

Is that a double-decker teacups ride?

Your job will be to design that amusement park. That’s what the game is about. There’s no one right way to do it, which is both a pro and a con.

Generally speaking, as the park manager, you’ll need to keep an eye on what the guests are looking for. When they say that they want to go “on something more thrilling” that means you need to build yourself some roller coasters and some designated “thrill” rides. In the past, rides that classify as “thrill” rides are things like bumper boats, bumper cars, enterprises, river rapids, and go karts.

Likely, the concept will be the same in Roller Coaster Tycoon World. In your build menu, your rides should be sorted into several categories including: transport rides, junior rides, gentle rides, thrill rides, coasters, water rides, shops and stalls. If your guests want something more thrilling, build accordingly; same thing if they want more gentle rides.

Your goal is to find the balance to boost your ratings, your park value, and your paycheck. Because you also have a staff to pay and rides to upkeep.

Sounds complicated? Perhaps. But it’s a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.

2. Change the Terrain to Meet Your Needs

(From RCT3) Adjusting the landscape to fit the rides is often necessary.

In the first Roller Coaster Tycoon game, you could adjust the landscape however you wanted, so long as you had the cash to do it. For some reason, in Roller Coaster Tycoons 2 and 3, you found yourself limited for no discernable reason.

The developers are promising a completely deformable terrain again. So you can move around land and water as you please to allow for your rides and attractions to go wherever you want them to.

3. Architect Mode

The new way to build coasters.

One of the major frustrations of previous Roller Coaster Tycoon games was that designing your own rollercoaster while in your park became a tough job if you were struggling financially. The games did have “sandbox modes” where you could build coasters to your hearts’ content without money being a factor. Or space for that matter.

The problem came when you went to build those in your park later only to find that they didn’t in with the previous attractions or scenery, or they became too expensive to build in one shot anyway. Now, in Roller Coaster Tycoon World, you’ll be able to have the sandbox elements of building the coaster—but still in your park so you can make it fit. You’ll pay for it after it’s complete, not as you’re constructing it.

So, now you’ll have the fun of building a coaster without a lot of the hassle.

4. Build Coasters Using Spline System

In addition to the previous ways you could build coasters in Roller Coaster Tycoon parks, Roller Coaster Tycoon World will feature the addition of the spline-system. The track will have nodes that you can grab onto and manipulate in 3D space. This will simplify coaster building and modification to get you back to managing other areas of your park, if that’s what you want to do.

You will also be able to switch between the spline system and the older system of building tracks seamlessly to maximize your coaster building thrill time.

5. More Cohesive Theming

In previous iterations of Roller Coaster Tycoon games, there were options for theming: “space,” “jungle,” “abstract,” “snow,” etc. However, all it did was just look pretty if you bothered to do it. The theming had no effect on the guests more than them saying “nice scenery.”

Roller Coaster Tycoon World features four main themes: Americanna, Western, Pirate, and Space. Your rides, shops, and other attractions will all fit into these themes. Now, your park can more resemble Disney or Six Flags instead of a mishmash of whatever rides you were able to fit into a space.

You have your options to stick to a single theme, or mix and match a little bit if you please. The menus are designed so that way you can find everything that fits within a theme and plop it right into your park with no extra hassle.

Likely, with the release of expansion packs will come even more themes to add to your parks.

6. You Can Be a Horrible Manager

That is actually a themed ride, not you being a horrible manager.

The sadists who play Roller Coaster Tycoon (and there are many) enjoy various ways of –ahem- torturing their guests. Some people enjoy designing coasters to crash, deleting path under guests while they’re above water, charging for bathrooms, and putting “No Entry” signs in front of the Park Exit.

These actions will do horrible things to your park rating, but if you really just want to let out some passive aggression, here’s the way to do it. What is perhaps most surprising, is the amount of people who do enjoy torturing the guests in their parks. They exist in large numbers.

And if this is not your cup of tea, don’t worry, there are plenty of other ways you can enjoy yourself. Perhaps by working towards completing park objectives or building the craziest coaster ever (but not one that will crash on purpose.)

7. Ride Your Own Coasters

‘Cause you know you want to.

This was a feature introduced in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and it’s nice to see it make a reappearance. Roller Coaster Tycoon World will let you ride any ride you build from multiple camera angles should you so choose. That way, you can pretend that you’re in your own park and enjoy it like your guests do.

It’ll be a nice way to relax after you spent all that effort building it.

8. Visit other Parks

Welcome to someone else’s park.

A new feature of Roller Coaster Tycoon World will be the ability to go to other people’s parks and wander around as one of their guests. You can connect through Steam or Facebook, make friends, and visit their parks. They can visit yours as well.

This can give you ideas for what you can do to make your park better and you can give them suggestions if you so choose. There will be a feature to rate coasters and the overall park. The whole point is to be able to connect and enjoy yourself while watching your friends’ park grow and improve.

Additionally, you can share blueprints of rides you created through Steam and Facebook. Naturally, the flip side of acquiring blueprints of rides someone else has made is also possible.

9. Collaborate with Others

You control the “Space” area, yeah?

This is the online collaborative portion of the game. You can work with up to four other people as you create yourself a park that all of you share with each one of you controlling a different section. The developers promise that if someone else starts slacking, your park rating won’t show it.

Online mode is also completely optional. If you want to play by yourself, by all means do so. Roller Coaster Tycoon World is about giving you options about how you want to run your dream park.

10. Winning the Game

Because, that matters too.

In previous games, you won individual parks by completing objectives. These objectives ranged from having a certain amount of guests in your park, to getting a high park rating, to paying off your loan and having a certain park value, to any other number of variables. Sometimes, you had to get it done within a time limit, sometimes it was just whenever the numbers lined up.

Likely, Roller Coaster Tycoon World will be no different. You’ll be successful if you build a good balance of rides and attractions, pay off your loans, and keep guests happy. You should be happy too.
