It is safe to say that one of the shortcomings of Assetto Corsa lies in its underwhelming weather simulation. It feels rushed to development and does not offer any varying weather conditions such as rain, snow etc instead only simulating the clouds to give a look resembling the above-mentioned conditions. SOL is one of the biggest blessings and is part of the holy trinity with the Content manager and custom shaders patch. It revamps the weather system entirely and provides a plethora of varying conditions to choose from while also adding the option of dynamic weather in the game.

As stated earlier, the holy trinity of mods is what elevates the Assetto Corsa experience to a whole new level. Custom shaders patch, CSP for short, acts as a graphic enhancement mod for the game. In vanilla form, Assetto does show its age especially compared to the new titles of this year. CSP however completely transforms the look to a point where visuals are even better than most of the racing games on the market. This all is bundled perfectly into the Content manager, an alternative launcher for Assetto that simplifies mod installation to a mere drag and drop system while also unlocking many settings to completely access the full potential of the mods installed. A must-have combo for all sim racers!!

Pure driving bliss. Those would be my three words to describe this mod. It’s brutal, it’s unforgiving yet the rewarding sensation one feels when you manage to tame the beast and put in a good lap time is unmatchable. Truly a quality mod and a gem in the game.
