The Huntsman Vambraces are in Besuncen Tor beneath a waterfall. Dive in the pool beneath the waterfall to find a passage with the chest. You will find the chest in Northwest Grantebridgescire. The Cloak is in Northwestern Ledecestrescire in the Templebroough Fort. In the northernmost building, you have to climb a ladder to enter the highest room. Shoot the platforms to drop to the room below. Then you will find the chest. The Helm is found in eatern Ledecestrescire. It’s in Tonnastadir behind a locked door. The key to unlock the door is in the longhouse. The chest is at the bottom of a dig site. You can exit by using the lift in the dig site.

The higher the damage you deal with your bow, the more likely you will get a one hit kill. One hit kills will not get you detected if nobody sees you. It will make the guards suspicious, so be careful.
If you enjoy light weapons, these weapons are a good choice for now. The armor has a low weight. It’s the same as the Raven Clan armor. This will make sure you can dodge the most. It will help you conserve your stamina.

You will find the cloak in a locked chest at the back of the camp. The key to the chest is in the tent near the cages. The Magister’s Robe are in eastern Oxenefordscire in the Leah Villa Garrison. The robe is inside a building with a destructible rock wall. You can destroy the wall using explosive pots or your Incendiary Powder Trap ability. The vambraces are found in northeastern Oxenefordscire in Buckingham, behind a locked entrance. Find the key outside the church to open the door. Head inside and shoot the lock on the ladder overhead. Climb the ladder to find the chest. The trousers are in southeastern Oxenefordscire in Oxeneforda. They are in a church tower. You must shoot a second-story window to get inside. Then, shoot the scaffolding above. Climb to the next floor, where you will find the chest.

It is the lightest armor that you can get so far. The lighter the armor, the more damage you can inflict over time. Do you love Capoeira? You can dodge like crazy with this armor set.
The increase to stun after a kill is a good perk in combination with flails, shields, or hammers. It is best to keep these weapons light to take advantage of the speed dominate stats of this armor set.

This is an armor that is at mid-game level that you can get in the early game. The river raids are not as difficult to complete when at a lower level compared to venturing into high power level regions of England. It is fun to raid military outposts and monasteries with your fellow vikings.
If you enjoy being in the middle of large battles, then this armor will be good until you can get the Brigandine armor. With its high damage resistance, you can absorb blows if you miss a block. Don’t worry, you’ll be home for supper!

Varin’s Axe is a speedy, lightweight single-handed weapon that is optimal for the stealthy player. Aggressive players will find the speed buff helpful too. After unlocking the skill that lets you dual wield heavy weapons, you can use the axe’s buff to be a nimble heavy weapon specialist. Who said you can’t be big and fast?! This is one of the easiest weapons to obtain because it is earned through a story mode quest. Varin’s Axe will carry you through mid-game if you upgrade it frequently.

What Makes Varin’s Axe Great

After each hit, your speed is increased (up to 10 times). You can stack this to easily pass through enemies, especially in large crowds.
This weapon is easy to find, with strong stats for light and agile play styles. The speed increase buff plays well to agility and the attack score is great.

This dagger is easy to acquire in the early game without much time commitment. Youhave to explore an island next to the first few high points. It’s only power level 1.
This weapon’s buff is powerful, giving you increased melee damage after a dodge. You will dodge a lot with daggers, so this buff will be active a lot. The increased melee damage comes in handy with this speedy build.

Excellent scalable stats for a light bow. This is great to keep the weapon effective throughout your story. You won’t have to explore every nook and cranny to find an effective light bow.
The weapon’s perk is powerful. It increases Critical Chance by +15 for 10 seconds when striking the weak point of an enemy. Light bows are fast and usually used in the midst of combat. You will find it is easier to hit weak spots with light bows. Combined with its type and its weapon perk, you are a deadly opponent.
This is an easy, light bow to get without spending extra time exploring. Sometimes you don’t want to invest extra hours into a game, especially a massive one. By sticking with Skadi’s Wrath, you’ll be set up for a light bow for the whole game.
If you like the game’s viking theme then you’ll love this weapon’s design. More than any other bow, it looks like something a viking would use, with its primal accents.

The high attack stat with moderate melee distance makes taking on groups a breeze. You can do sweeping heavy attacks, which is a medium distance attack that can hurt multiple opponents with one swing.

You can find this weapon easily in the beginning map of Norway, but it will take commitment to defeat the first Lost Drengr because his power level is high.

What Makes Fafnir’s Fang Great

This is the easiest long range melee weapon to get in the early-game. Spears are excellent for attacking your opponents outside of their melee range. This is one of the first spears you encounter in the game.
High Critical Chance and speed stats. The speed is great for a heavy weapon. With heavy weapons, you often sacrifice speed. Some heavy weapons are quicker than others. This spear is one of them.
You receive an increased Critical Chance when surrounded by 3 or more enemies. This is exceptional because spears can inflict damage on multiple enemies at once. Combined with this weapon’s perk, you can control a crowd effectively.

The shield’s stats are high in block and stun, balanced against a moderate attack. This makes a perfect defensive shield combined with its potent offensive perk.
Brutally primal weapon design makes Eivor look terrifying. The skulls and chain hanging on this shield has a high level of detail. The artwork stands out compared to other shields.

If you don’t want to explore every nook and cranny in the game, then this is a good weapon for you. You want a capable predator bow to make large outposts manageable. To avoid drawn-out battles and efficiently kill your opponents in stealth, you will want to kill them with a single strike. With either a hidden blade, hunter, or predator bow, you can kill an enemy undetected. The stronger the bow, the fewer enemies you have to fight at once. The benefit with this bow is that you can get it in the story mode, and it’s quite powerful as a predator bow.

10. Raven Clan Armor Set

Your starting armor will take you far. What’s better than something free? Something free and powerful, that’s what! The Raven Clan armor is a Raven Aligned armor set. Raven aligned armor sets favor an assassin play style. Upgrading the armor set will surpass the alternatives. With 2 pieces of armor equipped, you get a buff. Your armor increases as your health decreases. Saving you from Valhalla in your most dire moment. With every piece of armor equipped, you’ll have an additional increase of Critical Chance. Maybe you’ll impress mom after all!

What Makes It Great

The buffs for having 2 pieces of armor come in handy while raising your power level early game. With this perk, the lower your health, the higher your armor stats increase.

The Cloak is in Northwestern Ledecestrescire in the Templebroough Fort. In the northernmost building you have to climb a ladder to enter the highest room. Shoot the platforms to drop to the room below. Then you will find the chest. The Helm is found in eastern Ledecestrescire. It’s in Tonnastadir behind a locked door. The key to unlock the door is in the longhouse. The chest is at the bottom of a dig site. You can exit by using the lift in the dig site.

With two pieces equipped the Magister’s set will add 15 points to your melee damage at night. The armor set is raven-aligned that straddles stealth and ranged combat with the 2 available buffs. If you love a mixture of melee and ranged combat then this set is for you.

If you love stealth, then pick this armor and wait for the sunset. You get a 15 point melee buff at night with 2 pieces of armor equipped.
The Magister’s armor is great for mixed combat styles because its stats increase general weapon types
If you want to change the look and feel of your armor while keeping it a light style, then this armor is great for you. You will like it because this is the newest set of Raven-aligned gear you encounter.
There’s a 15 point ranged damage buff for having all pieces of armor equipped. Regardless of your play style, you will find an increase to ranged damage helpful. A bow gives you an advantage in all themes of combat.

Climb the ladder to find the chest. The trousers are in southeastern Oxenefordscire in Oxeneforda. They are in a church tower. You must shoot a second-story window to get inside. Then, shoot the scaffolding above. Climb to the next floor, where you will find the chest.

How To Get the Mentor’s Armor

The armor is found in Suthsexe, Nottinghamshire, and Wincestre. The robes are in Saint Lewinna’s Church, Guildford, Suthsexe. Enter the church through an opening at the top of the tower. Then break everything possible to get down to the first floor of the main hall. Pull the shelf away from the wall to reveal a door leading into the room with the chest. Pull the shelf over to the ladder to use it to climb out of the room. The vambraces are underground in Anderitum Hideout, Suthsexe. Enter the hideout by looting the camp key from one of the enemies. Or drop into the hideout through the large hole in the center of the grounds. Once inside the hideout, go down the tunnel until you reach a wall with a wooden patch on the bottom. Break the wood and go through the hole. Use the Incendiary Powder Trap ability to destroy the next wall. Watch for the snakes! Follow the tunnel to the end. Shoot an arrow to break the wooden boards at the top of the wall. Then, climb over to the other side to collect the gear. In the Sherwood forest in Snotinghamscire you will find the Mentor’s Mask. It will be in a chest inside a small hut. The cloak is found in the Loch Clunbre Hideout in Snotinghamscire inside a hut. There is a barred door that you have to break open. The trousers are found in south-west Wincestre in Wincestre Garrison, inside a building with four red flags.

I bet you’ve got a decent trigger finger. Quick-to-the-draw! You are the parry champ. This armor is your destiny because it gives you an increased Critical Chance when parrying. The Thegn’s Armor Set is a bear-aligned set of armor that is a melee-player’s dream. This late-game set of armor is worth the ensuing battles because of its buffs, raw stats, and… Look at those gauntlets!

What Makes it Great

This armor is ideal for a heavy-weapon loving melee-player because of the armor's stats. This armor's stats are high in defense and low in evasion.
Having 2 pieces of armor increases your speed when stunning an enemy. This is excellent for leaning into the heavy weapon playstyle while keeping you fast enough to be fun and effective.
With all pieces of armor equipped, you get an additional increase to Critical Chance. Yo uwill love this perk because Critical Chance plays a dominate role in your offensive tactics with heavy weapons.

You can find Thegn’s Armor in Wincestre, Eurviscire, and Glowecestrescire. Thegn’s Great Helm is in a chest in The Old Minister, Wincester. The gear is in a locked chest in the same building as the high point. You need 3 keys to unlock the chests. The 1st key is in a room in the basement of library building. When you reach the room with the key, you will need to climb over the partition to get the key. The 2nd key is inside a room directly below the high point. From the balcony walk to the side where you see boxes against a window. Smash the boxes and slide below the window. In the room you’ll find the key. The 3rd key is on top of the rafters spanning across the building’s interior. From the courtyard of the Old Minister, shoot the window on the floor above the access door. Go through the window to get to the secret room and open the chest. Thegn’s Cloak is found in a chest in Bishop’s Residence, Wincestre. It’s on the second floor behind a barred door. Thegn’s Bracers are in Stenwege camp, Eurviscire. They are inside a building with a locked door. Thegn’s Heavy Tunic is found in Temple of Brigantia, Eurviscire. Find the large statue in the ruins and then dive underwater. Search for an entrance leading deeper underwater through tunnels. Be careful to not run out of oxygen! Thegn’s Breeches are found in Aelfwood, Glowecestrescire in a locked cave.

Man, it is an absolute blast to see this world fully realized on the PS5 system. Sure, it’s dreary, but that’s the point. Sure, most of the mechanics haven’t changed much since the last installment, but if you were looking for more Spider-Man with a new, urban twist, this is your game. New York offers new villains, interesting side-missions that really bolster Mile’s unique character and some intriguing relationship dynamics that differ from the drama you’re used to as Peter. This is a great way to quench your Spidey-thirst until SP2 and a great introduction to Miles Morales himself.

There’s a reason Netflix adapted this into a TV show, because there is such an ambitious tale at the heart of Geralt’s journey. The game is gorgeous and there is so much to explore in some of the most dense lore a game has to offer.

Who would have thought that the legendary, God of War series would work as an open-world game? Well, it kind of does. You return as Kratos, in a strange new land far from the stretches of Greece as you take your son on a dangerous trek across the Norse lands wrought with rabid creatures and undead demons.

The Lake of Nine is a gorgeous and subduing presence never before seen in a God of War game and it totally works! What’s unique about it is that the lake descends when the World Serpent rises from his slumber, and you walk through the residue of lands that were drowned for god knows how long. While not necessary to the plot, exploration feels natural and rewarding as you learn more about Kratos, Atreus and the mythical land you occupy.

Insomniac really got the swinging mechanics down for this and far surpasses any Spider-Man game before it. You have a huge array of suits to choose from, tons of fun side-missions to partake in, witty dialogue from Spidey himself and a beautiful take on the big apple from dusk to sunrise. We can’t even imagine how the follow-up will top this, but knowing Insomniac, they most certainly will.

Gotta love it when big IP’s live up to the hype, and this one certainly does. The story is about you and your survival in a land chock full of demons, monsters and political strife that you must master by building strength and making allies.

Like any good RPG, Elden Ring bombards you with rich lore and deep themes that are sure to grip any fantasy lover. There are a great variety of magic, weapons and epic boss fights that are on par with what we love about being a medieval warrior. If you ever wanted Dark Souls to be open-world, this is it.

Another huge IP that lived up to the hype. Turns out, the big, sprawling story that was Horizon Zero Dawn was just the beginning of Aloy’s adventure. She must now venture to the Forbidden West in search for answers lest the land crumble and humanity is forever lost.

To say this game is breathtakingly gorgeous would be an understatement. Forbidden West improves on the first game in so many ways and now you get to see what happened to the Golden Gate bridge. If you thought the lore in the first game was dense, wait till you get a load of what’s in store for this new, epic chapter. There’s new everything! And honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

An open world game that captures the majesty of feudal Japan? There’s no way this wasn’t making it to number 1. You play as Jin Sakai, a samurai on a quest to protect his island from the infamous Mongol invasion.

Finally a game that puts you in the shoes, not only of a badass samurai, but does it Kurosawan style. If you’re a cinefile and a lover of history, it would be a crime if you didn’t play Ghost of Tsushima. There is a rich variety to the colours of autumn leaves blowing in the wind that add to the gorgeous presentation, and the world itself is engaging and deep seated with culture and classic Japanese architecture. It’ll be quite some time before an open world game can top this.

“The world is on fire, Nioh 2 presents an adventure that empowers us to believe in a better future.” That sums it up pretty nicely. In this prequel to the first Nioh, you play as Hide, a Yokai (demon) Slayer who’s world changes when he meets Tokichiro, a spirit stone peddler.

If you’re somehow into both Japanese history and folklore then you’ll most certainly enjoy the direction Nioh 2 takes with its art style and story. The game has refined itself well since the first installment for a much smoother and gorgeous adventure. There’s a great variety for RPG fans to combine and experiment with skill trees and create a unique experience for every player.

If Cyberpunk was on speed, you got Scarlet Nexus. You can play as either Yuito Sumeragi or Kasane Randall, members of the OSF (Other Suppression Force) who are tasked with defending New Himuka from creatures known as the “Others”.

If you like neckbreak gameplay, rich lore and steampunk, oh boy are you in for a ride. Scarlet Nexus fills you with tons of story and great characters and plants you in the gorgeous, industrial backdrop of New Himuka. If that wasn’t cool enough, your character is gifted with psychokinesis! Combine that with cool weapons and teammates that actually do their job, this is entertainment at its finest.

There’s a hilarious variety of enemy types with hysterical movesets that are sure to make you chuckle. Whether you’re an old time Yakuza fan or new, this one is a true blast from beginning to end.

The world of Villedor is a huge, open sprawl which can actually make things more intimidating. You’ll definity know how Will Smith felt in I Am Legend after this hair-raising adventure.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is, by nearly all accounts, an open world masterpiece, but it’s not always considered an RPG. At the basest level, the player is taking the role of Arthur Morgan - making the game, at least ostensibly, a role-playing game - but there are also more standard RPG mechanics involved like experience and stat leveling. What really matters, though, in my opinion anyway, is that Red Dead Redemption 2 allows the player to work their way through a masterfully told narrative and make choices that matter; if that’s not role-playing, I don’t know what is.

Legends and folklore have captivated humans for as long as we've been around — the present day is no exception! It's no surprise that a fair share of video games have taken on mythology as a central theme.

Greek and Norse, Japanese and Indian, Egyptian and Native American — this list has a bit of everything, to scratch whatever mythology itch you may have. Get ready to be introduced to (or reminded of) fifteen of the best mythology games ever!

15. Age of Mythology

Age of Mythology is a spin-off of the Age of Empires series but based on mythology rather than historical events. In this real-time strategy game, you play as one of three civilizations: Greek, Egyptian, or Norse, each with their major god.

As you grow your civilization and make technological advancements, you advance from the Archaic Age all the way to the Mythic Age. The end goal? Annihilate your enemy civilizations.

Age of Mythology has only one campaign but it's a lengthy one. You play as Arkantos, an Atlantean soldier traveling through each civilization as he hunts down a cyclops.

Released in 2002, Age of Mythology still has an avid fanbase; as evidenced by an expansion pack being released in 2016! It added the Chinese civilization, after a 2003 expansion pack added the Atlantean one.

The three major gods of each civilization in Age of Mythology are Zeus, Ra, and Odin.

Lara Croft has unleashed a Mayan apocalypse onto the world, and now she must traverse Central and South America to find the lost city of Paititi. At the same time, she has to deal with Trinity, a paramilitary group working against her.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the sequel of Rise of the Tomb Raider, and the final entry in a trilogy telling Lara Croft's origin story. It's based on Aztec, Mayan, and Incan mythology. Developers of the game worked alongside historians and archeologists to make sure Paititi and the characters around it were accurate.

In this action-adventure game, gameplay consists of exploring the semi-open world, raiding tombs, and fighting enemies. The game's focus on the tombs and their associated puzzles was especially praised by critics.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is one of the most expensive games ever made; it cost $110-135 million!

13. Raji: An Ancient Epic

Raji: An Ancient Epic is a 2020 action-adventure game based on Indian (mostly Hindu) mythology. It takes inspiration from Indian epics such as the Ramayana. The visuals have a hand-drawn feel and are based on the Pahari art style from the 17-19th centuries in India.

Raji: An Ancient Epic was developed by a team of thirteen based in the city Pune in India.

12. Assassin's Creed Valhalla

It's the 870s AD, and there's an invasion of the Vikings into Britain. The Viking Eivor is just trying to establish a clan in England but he finds himself in the midst of the conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is the twelfth mainline entry of the Assassin's Creed series. Like the previous two games, part of the story takes place in the modern day. In the 21st century, Layla Hassan relives Eivor's memories as she tries to stop impending world destruction.

Valhalla is an action RPG that takes inspiration from Norse mythology. In the game's open world, you take on main storyline quests and optional side quests as well. There's more stealth involved than the past few games and the "social stealth" mechanic that many fans missed returned!

In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, you can choose whether to make Eivor male or female.

11. Darksiders

The first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, War has been tricked into bringing about the end of the world too early. He's stripped of his powers by the council that sits between Heaven and Hell and given a single chance to prove his innocence. So War returns to a now-ravaged Earth to search for and punish those responsible, and clear his own name.

Darksiders was released in 2010 and is the first entry of the Darksiders series. Based on Biblical mythology, you play as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse — War, Death, Strife, and Fury — in each installment. These vary from the actual Biblical Horsemen but, let's be real, "Famine" and "Pestilence" aren't very cool names!

Darksiders is a hack and slash adventure game, revolving around exploration and combat. War's main weapon is a two-handed sword called the Chaoseater.

A remastered edition, "Darksiders: Warmastered Edition," was released in 2016.

10. Apotheon

The Gods of Olympus have cast mankind aside, allowing evil free reign on the mortal world. The young warrior Nikandreos may just be humanity's last hope. With the help of the goddess Hera, guide Nikandreos throughout Mount Olympus as you battle the divine powers!

Apotheon is a 2D platformer based on Ancient Greek mythology. The narrative is original but, at its core, it stays true to familiar gods, creatures, and events. The game takes place in an open world, set in Mount Olympus, with locations based on different gods.

Along with mythology, Apotheon is an homage to Greek art, too. The art style is inspired by Ancient Greek black-figure pottery, and a lot of the visuals are based on Greece during the bronze age.

Apotheon features fully-voiced legendary characters from Greek mythology.

9. Titan Quest

Before the reign of the Olympian gods, Titans ruled the world in darkness. Imprisoned for ages, a trio of lesser Titans have somehow managed to wreak havoc on the mortal world. Your protagonist travels from Greece to Egypt, all the way across the Silk Road to China in pursuit of the lesser Titans in order to restore peace to humanity.

Titan Quest is a tile-based action RPG, with hack and slash combat. Along with main quests, there are side quests you can complete to gain experience and equipment. At release, gameplay was often compared to the Diablo series, which was a defining game of the action RPG genre at the time.

Titan Quest was released in 2006 and still has a loyal fanbase. It receives pretty frequent updates, too. The game has four expansion packs, the most recent of which was released in 2021!

Titan Quest was conceived by Brian Sullivan, who was a developer for Age of Empires.

8. God of War III

Vengeance is the name of the game in God of War III. Son of Zeus and ex-God of War, Kratos, seeks to exact revenge on his father after being betrayed by him. Guided by Athena, he rises from the depths of the underworld and makes his way to the peaks of Mount Olympus.

God of War III is the fifth entry in the God of War franchise. Narrative-wise, it's the final one in the series' Greek era. The game is set in Ancient Greece and is loosely based on Greek mythology.

Like previous games in the series, God of War III is a hack and slash action-adventure game. Kratos' main weapons are the Blades of Exile, which are used in the combo-based combat. The game also features quick time events, as well as platform and puzzle elements.

God of War III was awarded "Most Anticipated Game of 2010" at the Spike Video Game Awards.

Assassin's Creed Origins is set in Egypt in 49–43 BC and is inspired by Ancient Egyptian mythology. The game features an open world with many ways to explore, with an emphasis on stealth.

Gameplay is fairly open-ended as well, and there's tons of optional stuff to do aside from the main storyline. You can explore pyramids, raid bandit bases, and solve puzzles to get rare items. Origins also features a revitalized combat system, different from previous entries in the series.

Assassin's Creed Origins is the first game in the series to feature Layla Hassan.

The Sengoku period was riddled with civil war, social unrest, and — in Nioh 2 — hordes of yōkai! The player character is Hide, a customizable half-yōkai (AKA "Shiftling") who must battle spirits from folklore in brutal combat. Nioh 2 is set in the late 1500s in Japan and is based on Japanese mythology, especially yōkai. Available weapons include traditional weapons used during the Sengoku period, as well as weapons from mythology.

Storywise, Nioh 2 is both a prequel and sequel to Nioh. Like its predecessor, Nioh 2 is a masocore action RPG; its level of difficulty is specifically designed to make you rage!

Nioh 2 is primarily single-player but also has a three-player multiplayer mode.

Kratos has left his life struggling against the Olympians behind and now resides in Midgard, in the realm of the Norse gods. A first for the series, God of War (2018) features two protagonists, Kratos and his son, Atreus. The pair are on a journey throughout Scandinavia, in the pre-Viking era.

Kratos just can't catch a break, though! He finds himself in conflict with Norse gods and monsters but he can't fight as recklessly as usual when he has a son to protect.

God of War (2018) is the eighth entry in the God of War series and the first to diverge from Greek mythology. The game received immense praise for how well it revitalized the story, design, and gameplay of the previous games, as well as how it approached the father-son dynamic of Kratos and Atreus.

God of War (2018) is tied with the first God of War (2005) for the highest-rated game in the series!

4. Never Alone

Never Alone is based on Native American mythology, specifically that of the Iñupiaq people of Alaska. The two player characters are a little girl Nuna and her pet, Fox. The main plotline is based on a traditional Iñupiaq tale; it sees Nuna and Fox search for the source of an endless blizzard that ravaged their village.

Smaller side stories involve other Iñupiaq legends such as that of the Blizzard Man and the Rolling Heads. The main theme of the game is generational wisdom and it includes documentary-style cutscenes of Iñupiaq elders sharing their stories.

Never Alone is a puzzle platformer described as "atmospheric." You control Nuna and Fox alternately throughout eight levels (or "chapters") of puzzles. A sequel was announced in February 2022.

Never Alone's Iñupiaq title is "Kisima Inŋitchuŋa" which means "I am not alone."

3. Valheim

"Valheim" is a fictional tenth world within the world tree of Norse mythology It is here that slain Vikings must prove that they deserve to go to the paradise of Valhalla. How do they do this? By defeating five bosses based on Norse mythology.

You'd be wrong to think you can just go straight to them! You must gather resources and hone your skills while surviving the wilderness of Valheim, whether alone or in co-op.

Valheim is a survival sandbox game that was released in early access in February 2021. You might not even realize it though, as the game already feels quite polished! Valheim was an unexpected smash hit, selling five million copies within the first month after release. The five-person team behind the game even admitted that they didn't expect it to be so successful.

In the first month of its release, Valheim was one of the most-played games on Steam.

2. Hades

Zagreus, the son of Hades, wants nothing more than to escape the Underworld. He's helped by various gods and goddesses, such as his adoptive mother Nyx, his mentor Achilles, and the ferryman Charon. The Olympian Gods are on his side too, giving him Boons that endow him with special abilities.

Not everything is going Zagreus' way, though. Hades isn't about to go easy on his son — he'll unleash the Underworld's residents (including a Hydra and a Fury) just to stop him!

Hades is a roguelike dungeon crawler, set in random rooms filled with enemies and rewards. The game is set up in a way that requires multiple runs, with each run revealing a bit more of the storyline. Treasures you find carry over to your subsequent runs, too! The combat system is hack and slash using a mixture of attack types.

1. Okami

Ōkami tells the tale of the sun goddess Amaterasu, who takes the form of a white wolf as she goes on a quest to save the world from darkness. Most humans see her as just a plain wolf; only a few actually recognize her.

Ōkami is inspired by Japanese mythology and set in the classical period of Japan. The art style is based on sumi-e, ink wash paintings that originated in China but became prominent in Japan, too. Gameplay was inspired by The Legend of Zelda, a favorite of director Hideki Kamiya. It's a mix of action, puzzle, and platforming.

Ōkami was one of the last releases on the PlayStation 2 and didn't generate very much sales. It did, however, receive critical acclaim and was even named the 2006 Game of the Year by IGN!

"Ōkami" is a pun; it can mean either "great god" or "wolf," both referring to the main character.

Though the game's main theme is mental illness, the mythological elements are nothing to be scoffed at! Hellblade is set in a breathtaking world inspired by Celtic culture and Norse mythology.

In making the game, the developers worked alongside neuroscientists and people actually living with psychosis.

[Top 7] AC Valhalla Best Fishing Spots

Aside from the big treasures of England and the raids you can do all day, Assassin's Creed Valhalla also gives you a chance to try and live as a Viking in a peaceful way - fishing.

You read that right, fishing is one of the best ways to take a break from your conquest of England. It is a great pastime if you are having a tough time beating the big bosses in the game or if you just want to take a break from Eivor’s killing spree.

When you build your home in England, you may notice that there are a lot of fishermen in your settlement and you even have a dedicated fisherman who works to keep Raventshorpe’s supply up and running. I had my fair share of fishing and while I never took a focus on it, it is still fun to do and more of a challenge than trying to beat the game. Fishing takes time and patience, but knowing where to find your fish should make the job easy.

Here are the top seven fishing spots where you can enjoy the best fishing experience:

7. Rygjafylke and Hordafylke (Norway)

Where it all began...

Most players would not waste time exploring the icy blocks of Norway and would go on with the story right away. However, if you ever came back to Norway at Sigurd’s behest in the closing parts of the game, you should not waste this second chance and try to fish in Norway.

This is still seen as a two-in-one location since they are not that far from each other and there is a great sea expanse where you can try to fish. Just try not to freeze when you are busy fishing in the middle of the cold front.

What is Great about Rygjafylke and Hordafylke:

Only place to catch rare fish such as Arctic Char, Hake, Mackerel, and Redfish
Big location allows you to traverse any part of the sea
Use of the longship to travel in deeper waters yields better catches

6. Sciropescire

You may have to wait for a while and progress further in the story before you try to fish in this area. When you have leveled up and have taken on quests in this area, then it is safe for you to go and try to fish in this spot.

Sciropescire is just a little bit left of Ledescestersire and you can see two lakes in this area which are the best spots for fishing the likes of Brown Trout, Bullhead, Burbot, Eel, and Perch.

What is Great about Sciropescire:

You can still use a boat to go into the deep water
Very close to your settlement
Accessible by boat or horse

5. Essexe

Casual fishing at its finest

Essexe is one of the early regions you can get access to, so this makes it easy for you to try to fish in that spot. You can find this region just south of Grantedbridgescire and is linked to both the coast of England and a handful of rivers.

The best way to make the best catches here is to take a boat through the rivers and go all the way to the coastline. If it does not work, you can always go back to the part of the river near the ruins.

What is Great about Essexe:

You can catch Bream, Cod, and Flatfish off the coast, while Grey Trout and Polluck can be found in the rivers.
Still close to Ravensthorpe so you can bring the longship here for easy travel
Well connected to other regions, and it makes your region switches faster

4. Hamtunscire

Travels worth fishing for

Hamtunscire is one of what you would consider a tourist spot in the game. Aside from the fact that it will take you some time before you can get to it, the region has a lot of small lakes for you to choose from. Each of those lakes has a lot of fish in it and you can say it is very much worth it.

You can find it just a little bit to the left of Suthsexe and south of Oxenfordschire. Flatfish, Sturgeon, and Bream can be found off the coast and Grey Trout, Pollock, Sturgeon, and Burbot are in the rivers.

What is Great about Hamtunscire:

Very rewarding area to fish if you are patient
Offers a lot of fish in rivers, coast and even lakes
River connection makes it easy for your ship to go in

3. Cent

Murky fishing for good measure

Another region that is worth the wait is Cent. You will get access to this region as soon as Fulke comes into play in the story. The best part of this region is its coastline since you have a big body of water to scale.

This spot has a lot of fish varieties for you to choose from. Bream, Cod, Flatfish, and Sturgeon can be found along the coast, and the rivers are filled with Burbot, Grey Trout, Pollock, and a whole lot more of Sturgeon. This should give you a lot of work to do in fishing.

Key spots in the region has bigger fish as well
The coastline is easy for your boat to reach

2. Lincolnscire

Off-shore fishing looks great

Lincolnscire is second on the list for good reason: you can enjoy a fair amount of fish in this area and there are a lot of small islands that will serve as your throwing point. This is a good spot for you as long as you are patient with the constant rains there.

This spot is at the top of the map to the right of Eurvicscire. This has a lot of rivers and single access to the coast. There are a few inland lakes in the region that has the big catches, so this is a great pick for you.

If you want to catch some Salmon, Brown Trout, Bullhead, and Perch, the rivers are the best place for you while Haddock and Halibut can be found on the coast.

What is Great about Lincolnscire:

Easy access from all directions
Small islands are good for throwing hooks
Deep river means bigger fishes

1. East Anglia

Hunting on the coast

Nothing beats the closest region you have to Ravensthorpe as this only needs you to be within the range of level 55. East Anglia is one of the early areas you can visit and has a very long coastline with a few rivers all around as well.

This region gives you a lot of options, such as Bullhead, Eel, and Perch in the rivers. When you want some deep-sea fishing, try the ones near the coastline and you can get yourself some Cod, Haddock, Halibut, and Shad.

What is Great about East Anglia:

You can fish there in the early game
Wide variety of fish to catch
Training ground for fishing

There are other regions out there that may offer you some good catches as well. Depending on how patient you are when it comes to fishing, every nook and cranny in the game that has a body of water in it may lead you to some rare fish in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
