The Assassin in Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a powerful advanced class, having been promoted from the thief class. They mostly use swords as their main weapon, have high critical abilities, and earn a high amount of experience upon receiving the killing blow on an enemy. Toi become one, your unit must be at least level 20 and have high enough proficiency in swords and bows. Upon mastering, they learn Lethaily and the Combat Art Assassinate, which instantly kill an enemy.

Who are you supposed to promote into this advanced class? Below are the top seven assassins and why.

7. Ignatz

Let Ignatz paint you a picture!

The Golden Deers’ Ignatz might not seem like he is the best at anything, but he makes a great assassin.

Given his strength in both swords and bows as well as his decent stat growths, assassin is a natural choice for him. However, there are better assassins to choose. Ignatz is not going to cause the most damage, but he will succeed in the class.

What Makes Ignatz a Great Assassin:

Ignatz is great for a high-accuracy assassin. His personal skill, Watchful Eye, gies him +20 hit, meaning he has a very high chance to hit enemies, even with high avoid.
His proficiencies make him easy to level up to the required levels for assassins .
He has high dexterity, speed, and luck growths, which are necessary for a good assassin.

6. Dimitri

Dimitri's strength lets him excel.

It goes without saying that Dimitri is incredibly strong on the battlefield. While most of that is thanks to his crest, he has a great stat growth!

Dimitri will consistently cause more damage to his enemies as an assassin. While he is usually used as a lance unit with his Heroes’ Relic Areadbhar, that shouldn’t stop you from experimenting with him and giving him a sword instead. Naturally, he will cause high damage, plus he has a decent speed growth that the assassins need. It’s worth spending some time in the assassin class before transitioning over to his special class in the game.

Unfortunately, you cannot use Dimitri in routes other than the Blue Lions!

What Makes Dimitri a Great Assassin:

With one of the highest strength growths in the game, he will not let you down with his damage output.
The lance classes do not have too much to offer in FE3H, so transitioning Dimitri over to a sword is a natural progression if you want to leave the lances in the dust.
His good speed growth also helps him be swift on his feet and shell out multiple hits as an assassin.

5. Ferdinand

Ferdinand's ego is worth it.

I am always going to preach that Ferdinand will excel in almost all roles! With no weaknesses, he can easily become an assassin.

You can make Ferdinand into any class you want, though he doesn’t do all that great in magic. Luckily, you don’t need magic for him to become an assassin. He is strong and has a plethora of useful skills, good stat growths, and is an excellent trainee. As long as you give him the proper training and good weapons, he’ll become an excellent assassin.

What Makes Ferdinand a Great Assassin:

His minor Crest of Cichol allows him to wield any Heroes’ Relics without receiving any damage. Yes, you can even give him the Sword of the Creator if you’d like!
Ferdinand’s personal skill, Confidence, gives him a boost of hit and avoid when his HP is at its max. This is great for an assassin and makes him almost impossible to hit and gives him more accuracy in his hits. Make sure he’s in good health!
With his lack of weaknesses, he will easily be an incredible assassin.

4. Yuri

Yuri's high speed makes him a great assassin.

Yuri, the leader of the Ashen Wolves, who is unfortunately behind a paywall, is one of the best assassins in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

He has the highest speed growth in the entire game at 65%, which is perfect for the assassin that needs to be quick on their feet. He has a strength in swords and a budding talent in bows, which make it easy for him to be classed into an assassin. Plus, assassin is an easy class for him to maintain before he becomes a trickster, Yuri’s canon class, which is also limited to owners of the DLC.

As an assassin, Yuri will learn Lethality which will prove useful in late-game as the enemies get tougher to beat. It is just a shame that a character as overpowered as him is behind a paywall.

What Makes Yuri a Great Assassin:

Yuri has a high speed, meaning he will almost always double hit and dodge attacks. He is untouchable as an assassin!
He has access to the Fetters of Dromi relic, which increases his movement.
Before his special class, becoming an assassin is just a natural stepping stone.

3. Catherine

Catherine is pretty intimidating...

Catherine is a beast on the battlefield, especially with her Heroes’ Relic, the sword Thunderbrand. Luckily for us (though not so much for the enemies on the field), she can use it as an assassin. When you recruit Catherine, she is already in the advanced class Swordmaster. Let her master that one, but then it’s worth putting her in the assassin class as well.

The biggest things to note about Catherine, aside from Thunderbrand, are her strength and speed. These are great growths. She mostly kills enemies with one hit, even with her low crit rate, but learning Lethality and Assassinate from mastering the assassin class will just make that part of her even stronger.

What Makes Catherine a Great Assassin:

You can recruit her very early in the game, giving you the chance to put her into multiple advanced glasses to gain skills before moving up to master classes.
Catherine has a very high proficiency in swords, so getting into the class and mastering it will be easy!
Since assassins gain more experience upon receiving the kill, Catherine will quickly level up with her one-shot kills.

2. Petra

Petra will slice through her enemies!

Petra is a great unit with many weapons, so a sword is no exception.

She has an incredibly high speed at 60% growth. This is one of the highest speed growths in the game, which makes her an excellent assassin, a class that thrives off of speed. She also has high dexterity, strength, and luck!

Petra will easily level up as an assassin. Since they gain more experience upon giving an enemy their final blow and her personal skill increases her chance of critting when an enemy has low health, she will

What Makes Petra a Great Assassin:

Petra’s strengths in swords and bows will make classing her as an assassin very easy!
Her stats make her quick, powerful, and lethal.
Petra’s personal skill, Hunter’s Boon, will cause her to kill even more on the battlefield, level up higher, and further increase her stats!

1. Felix

All that training doesn't go to waste.

Unsurprisingly, Felix is number one. He is an incredible unit in the game, especially when given a sword. A sword is his canon weapon, so it’s no wonder he’s lethal on the battlefield as an assassin.

Felix is the perfect assassin. He has strength in sword and bows, which make it easy for him to qualify and pass the assassin certification exam. Plus, Felix is just STRONG. His strength, speed, and dexterity all grow at 55%, 55%, and 45%, respectively. Not only will he cause a lot of damage as an assassin, but he will hit multiple times and land a crit.

Speed and dexterity both increase by 20% when landed into the assassin class, so it will continue to increase and prove him even more powerful the longer he is classed as an assassin.

What Makes Felix a Great Assassin:

Felix’s high stat growths are made even higher as soon as he receives the assassin certification.
Felix’s personal skill, Lone Wolf, gives him an extra attack boost when he is without a battalion, so that is something to keep in mind! If you want him to have extra strength, consider deploying him without one.
His Crest of Fraldarius occasionally increases his attack damage as well. Felix is constantly causing high amounts of damage!

The concept of assassins has existed in different media throughout history. From books, movies, to gaming, assassins have set a foothold on every form of entertainment there is.

But behind these fanciful tales of these shadowy individuals lies more than a glimmer of truth.

Throughout the centuries there have been a multitude of assassins that changed history and set us on the path we have now as a society. In this list we will list the most notorious and prominent of these killers. These are the top 10 assassins from ancient to modern times.

10. Vincent “Mad Dog” Coll

The prohibition-era in 1920’s to 1930’s America didn't just bring about a temporary ban on liquor but also a multitude of gangsters.

These gangsters often had trained hitmen specialized to take out their enemies or anyone that got in their path. One of the most notorious hitmen was Vincent “Mad Dog” Coll.

Widely considered as the criminal who invented the drive-by shooting. He was an Irish born criminal that operated in the Bronx after being kicked out of catholic school. To earn extra money he would kidnap other gangsters and hold them for ransom.

In one of these kidnappings, a nearby playing child was caught in the crossfire when there was a shootout between the two rival gangs. The child later died in the hospital and Vincent Coll was called a “Mad Dog” by the mayor of New York City because of this.

Mad Dog was eventually killed by a rival gang after his call was traced to a phone booth where he was trying to extort $50,000 off of another criminal. He met his end by a hail of machine gun bullets.

9. Tommy “Karate” Pitera

He is widely regarded more as a serial killer than an assassin. And i’ll tell you why

Serving as the personal hitman of the Bonanno Crime Family, Tommy Pitera is suspected to have over 60 kills under his name. 60.

Having learned martial arts at a young age, he often used his hand to hand combat skills in the numerous scraps he's had over the years working for the Bonanno’s.

This earned him the nickname of “Tommy Karate” or “The Karate Guy”. As of writing he is still alive at 68 years old and serving a life sentence at USP McCreary in Kentucky, USA.

Pitera had clear signs of a serial killer with the way he disposed of the bodies of his killed targets.

He studied books on dissection and even carried a special tool kit to cut up bodies. He put the chopped pieces into plastic bags or suitcases and buried them deep underground so that police dogs can't smell them. He decapitated heads and buried them separately from the bodies.

He even keeps jewelry and other souvenirs from his victims as he “enjoyed” keeping them.

8. Bugsy Siegel

Devilish good looks and charm, Bugsy had everyone from celebrities to dictators at his fingertips

One of the more famous personalities on this list is Bugsy Siegel. An assassin and hitman that worked under Murder Inc. - which was a professional business that was employed by the mob to organize hits on their enemies - was well known throughout high society in the 40’s.

He moved from New York, which was where he built his reputation, to Los Angeles to where he was seen regularly mingling with famous celebrities like Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, and even Frank Sinatra.

He is well known to have tried selling atomite, which was a new kind of explosive that produced neither sound nor flash, to Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

In terms of the assassinations that he did, he was the one of four other gunmen to have killed Joe Masseria, the boss of the Genovese crime family and ended a gang war because of this.

He was also credited as one of the assassins who killed Salvatore Maranzano which sparked the beginning of modern American organized crime.

7. The Werwolves

Covert and ruthless, this secret Nazi guerilla force had allied troops on their toes at the tail end of World War II

Nazis are one of history's most infamous and despised groups to have ever existed.

Their ideals and actions are despicable enough, but apart from the Waffen SS and the Gestapo there is another, not well known organization in the Nazi regime and that was the Werwolves.

An organization of around 5000 soldiers handpicked from the Nazi Youth or the Waffen SS themselves, they were trained to perform sabotage and silent assassinations, and were also trained to stay behind enemy lines and wait to be found by allied forces to get in close and take out a base of operations from within.

In 1945, there was a multitude of covert assassination done to high ranking military officials and town mayors appointed by the Allies to take back German control over high priority military outposts.

One of the more famous assassinations done by the Werwolves was a hit on Aachen mayor Franz Oppenhoff called “Project Carnival”.

The Werwolves disguised themselves as wounded german pilots and waited to be taken into custody into the town of Aachen so that they can get in close to the Allied forces appointed mayor to kill him

6. Gavrilo Princip

As stated in the opening of this article, Assassins throughout history have been instrumental to the seismic shifts in the course of our history. No other assassin in history has been responsible for the spark to ignite a planet spanning war other than Gavrilo Princip.

Princip was a Bosnian Serb student who in 1914 killed the Archduke of Austria and his wife, Franz Ferdinand and Sophie, Duchess of Hohenburg, as their car stopped 5 feet from him and shot them both, killing them instantly.

This was the spark that Austria-Hungary was looking for for them to open hostilities on Serbia which then led to World War 1.

In Yugoslavia- the south slav state that he envisioned- regards him as a national hero. Princip was trained by “The Black Hand” which focused on terrorism.

Their goal was to destroy Austro-Hungarian rule in the Balkans and to unite the south Slavic nations into one federal government.

Princip believed that for this to happen he had to assassinate one high ranking official of the government, within which he had his mission fulfilled with the murder of Archduke Ferdinand.

5. Marcus Junius Brutus

History’s second most famous betrayal. The first being Judas of course

Adopted at an early age by a relative after the death of his father caused by the Roman Emperor, Pompey, Marcus Junius Brutus or more famously known as Brutus was a Roman politician and orator that assassinated Julius Caesar on the Ides of March.

Before he assassinated Caesar, he was rather close to him and even considered him a friend.

However over time, he came to slowly oppose Caesar as he evaded accountability in the courts of law which put him at odds against the roman elite and the senate.

After “Caesar’s Civil War” in 49-45 BC, he became more monarchical and autocratic in his behavior.

Within which, several senators who called themselves “liberators” plotted to assassinate Caesar which was successfully carried out on March 15 of 44 BC called The Ides of March.

What Caesar said during his final moments of life is highly contested but it is through William Shakespeare that it is envisioned that his last words when he saw Brutus quite literally stabbing him in the back were “You too, Brutus?”

4. Lee Harvey Oswald

The man who changed a whole country in one afternoon

The US presidency is statistically more dangerous than law enforcement, construction, space exploration, and mining. 20% of US Presidents have died in office. 20% of presidents have died due to assassinations since George Washington became the first president in office.

John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the USA and he was assassinated on November 22, 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald as he took position and sniped the president on the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository when the president's motorcade was driving through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas.

Oswald was a troublemaker since his childhood where he was placed in juvenile detention due to truancy during which he was assessed by a mental health professional as “emotionally disturbed” due to him not having a normal family life.

He was a former marine who after getting court martialed lived in Minsk, Byelorussia with his russian wife. He returned to the USA with his wife in 1962 and within only 29 months since his return to the states, successfully carried out his plan to murder the president.

Althugh detained after his assassination of the president, no answers were ever gotten out of him since he himself was assassinated on live television by a local nightclub owner named Jack Ruby.

Was he working with the Russians to kill the president, was he a “patsy” as he himself called it, or was he working alone? We might never know the answers to these questions.

3. John Wilkes Booth

From stage actor to assassin

As stated in the previous entry, the US presidency is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Another reason for this statistic being proved true comes by the hands of John Wilkes Booth

Booth was a stage actor that was performing in Ford’s Theatre in Washington D.C. on April 14, 1865. He was a Lincoln detractor who strongly opposed the recent abolition of slavery in the US with which he was also a Confederate sympathizer.

He had originally planned to kidnap Lincoln along with Vice President Andrew Johnson and Secretary of State William H. Seward but the plan changed with him murdering Lincoln instead.

He believed the civil war was still raging even though the last confederate army surrendered four days earlier before the assassination.

As President Lincoln was watching the play, Booth sneaked up on top of the upper box where Lincoln was watching from and shot him in the back of the head.

Lincoln died the morning after he was shot in the head. He also severely wounded Seward but he made a full recovery whilst VP Johnson was left unharmed.

He was caught 12 days later on a farm in Northern Virginia with his partner David Herrold. Herrold surrendered to the police but Booth held a standoff with the authorities.

He was eventually flushed out when the barn he was hiding in was set on fire.He was shot in the neck by Union Soldier, Boston Corbett, as he was trying to escape.

2. Julio Santana

History’s deadliest assassin with over 492 documented murders under his belt is the secretive Julio Santana.

Santana refuses to get any video or photo taken of him as none of his neighbors in the Brazilian interior know about his past. He has stated that being an assassin for hire and living that life he had he has already left behind.

He committed his first assassination at the age of 17 and continued to commit murders up until he was 52 years old when his wife gave him an ultimatum.

Santana is a firm believer in God and has held that belief throughout his life as a contact assassin. Santana kept a log of all the people he killed and how much he was paid for each.

He stopped writing after 492nd victim

His murders included that of Maria Lucia Petit who was a guerilla fighter under the Communist Party of Brazil, Nativo da Natividade who was a trade unionist during Brazil’s military regime and militant Jose Genoino.

Now Santana lives in anonymity in a small quiet town which he refuses to give the location of and is living with his wife and owns a farm where he grows vegetables

1. Hassan-i-Sabbah

The father of Assassins

Regarded as the father of assassins and the inspiration of what an assassin looks like in pop culture, Hassan-i-Sabbah though has mostly been forgotten by history.

He built around a sect of believers in Fort Alamut which was the heart of the assassins guild for a century and a half.

Hassan-i-Sabbah was known as the “Old Man of the Mountain”. He was also a philosopher and a preacher where he taught that leaders who live a life of luxury have nothing honorable about who they were while their subjects were living in poverty and hunger.

His most devoted followers were trained in the art of assassinations to remove those who abused their power and corrupted the people's money.

The first recorded assassination by Hassan-i-Sabbah was in 1092 which then targeted anyone that was unjust and those who fought in the Crusades.

Him and his assassins viewed themselves as judges who carried out true justice rather than murderers.

Eventually his assassin followers grew large enough that they eventually operated in 70 different locations within which they created their own language to communicate with.

His legend has mostly been forgotten by history but with how assassins are being these shadow forces that tip the balance of power, his foregoing in the annals of history is proof of his proficiency and status as the father of all assassins.

The definition of an assassin is fairly simple. It’s defined as “a person who commits murder especially one who murders a politically important person either for money or from fanatical adherence to a cause” and that’s what we are going to be talking about today.

In gaming there has been a multitude of assassin’s that utilize tools of death like blades, poison, sniper rifles, and even piano wires.

With all of the assassins that have existed in the gaming world, I am going to list down, in my opinion, the most famous assassins to have ever existed in games.

10. Ellie - The Last of Us Part II

“Don’t scream or I’ll shoot”

We have witnessed the transformation of Ellie from The Last of Us series from being a wisecracking 14 year old kid to the army murdering, horde slaying, badass killer that she is today.

We’re talking about The Last of Us II iteration of Ellie in this list because in the first game she doesn’t do much murdering.

Albeit she helps out Joel, the playable character of the first game, but she doesn't do the main murdering in the first installment.

In the second game though, literal hordes of infected and human enemies have been burned, stabbed, dismembered, shot, and blown up by Ellie on a quest for vengeance.

Trust me, you DO NOT want to be on Ellie’s bad side. She will machete your face off and blow your corpse up just for fun.

Fun fact about Ellie, the tattoo on Ellie’s arm was designed by tattoo artist Natalie Hall.Before being put in the game, it was tested on the arm of UI artist and designer Alexandria Neonakis.

9. Mysterion - South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Do you know what it feels like to be stabbed? To be shot? Decapitated? Torn apart? Burned? Run over? It's not pretty cool

Who is Mysterion? Is he an undead assassin? Is he a demon sent out to protect South Park? A government agent?

Well.. no. Mysterion is actually Kenny McCormick in disguise. Kenny might be a silent kid in the morning who lives in a trailer park but at night he transforms into the vigilante known as Mysterion.

Mysterion appears in the 2017 game South Park: The Fractured But Whole, which acts as a sequel to the 2014 game South Park: The Stick of Truth. Mysterion sides with the Freedom Pals along with Dr. Timothy, Toolshed, Tupperware, and Wonder Tweek.

In the game he is seen possessing strange powers such as shadow manipulation and a dark energy that he uses for long range combat with enemies.

His main power, as we all know, is that he cannot die but in game even if Mysterion dies he will come back as a ghost and keep on fighting.

Mysterion is named after a 1960s TV series called Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. Captain Scarlet has the power to reincarnate and regenerate from any injury given by a race of aliens called the Mysterons.

8. The Second Sister - Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

“I’m stronger now because of the pain”

The sith from the Star Wars franchise are the antithesis of the Jedi Order where they are devoted to the dark side of the force that use hate, deception, and greed as their conduits of power.

In this evil empire of killers, there exists a subgroup known as “sisters” that are tasked to hunt down any remaining Jedi in the galaxy. In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, we are introduced to the deadliest of the sisters, Trilla Suduri AKA The Second Sister.

The Second Sister was formerly a force sensitive padawan en route to becoming a Jedi but was captured by the galactic empire and was subjected to torture and pain until her psyche broke.

She turned to the dark side and became its deadliest Jedi assassin.

Trilla was tasked to hunt down the main character of the game, Cal Kestis, and made his life a living hell all throughout the course of the game.

Her strength in the wielding of the force is further amplified by her hatred towards the Jedi and her deadly dual lightsabers.

The Second Sister was actually first seen in a comic book about Darth Vader 2 years prior to the release of the game. She made her on screen debut in 2019 in the game.

7. Nina Williams - Tekken Franchise

“You’ve got a date with death”

Appearing in every installment of the Tekken franchise all the way from the very first game, Nina Williams is one of the most famous faces in the roster.

Nina is an assassin first sent out to murder Kazuya Mishima but subsequently joined in the Tekken Tournament. She is perpetually put into cryosleep that’s why throughout the years she never seems to age.

Her fighting style is composed of grapples, holds, and a variation of different throws. Koppojutsu is the name of her main martial art which is the main martial art used by assassins.

One thing to know about Nina is that during her cryosleep, her ovum was taken out of her without her knowledge. The ovum that was taken from her was used to create the world renowned boxer, Steve Fox who first appeared in Tekken 4

6. Jin Sakai - Ghost of Tsushima

“I am not your son.. I am the Ghost”

Samurais have a strict code that is built on honor and justice. Any deviation from that code leads to dishonor and exile from his family and clan.

But when invaders from a far away land wipe out all of his samurai brethren and threaten Jin Sakai’s home, he has no choice but to adapt new tactics that go against the samurai code to fight the Mongol army all on his own.

Jin Sakai is a former samurai lord turned assassin that protects his island of Tsushima and the neighboring island of Iki.

He appears in the astounding 2020 game, Ghost of Tsushima, as the main playable character where he uses his katana to cut down throngs of Mongols along with bombs, kunai, and arrows.

But he also has to contend with his samurai upbringing and his uncle who is a steadfast samurai warrior who chooses to live and die by the samurai code.

Jin’s name translates to “benevolence, compassion, humanity” which perfectly describes how he rules over his people where he chooses to fight for it till his last breath.

5. Ada Wong - Resident Evil Franchise

“I don’t always play by your rules”

One of the most recognizable characters in the Resident Evil franchise is the enigmatic spy and assassin for hire, Ada Wong.

She has gained notoriety amongst all the other characters in the franchise due to her unknown past and often romantic ties with other series favorite, Leon S. Kennedy.

Ada is normally hired by the highest bidder to handle difficult situations and accomplish normally impossible missions. Whether it be political assassinations, specimen retrieval, or even rescue. Ada Wong has the means to do it and more.

True to her secretive nature, Ada Wong is only an alias. Her true name remains a mystery and so do her motivations for her actions.

She describes her various allegiances and missions as a means to an end to her “true purpose” and is not afraid to betray her employers or even her allies to achieve this.

4. Scorpion - Mortal Kombat Franchise

“GET OVER HERE”

Wielding one of gaming's most iconic weapons and with a badass catch phrase to boot. Hanzo Hasashi is better known by his most famous moniker, Scorpion.

Scorpion has appeared in every single Mortal Kombat game since the very first one back in 1992. He is a resurrected ninja from earthrealm that now resides in the netherrealm as an undead ninja assassin hell bent on revenge for the death of his clan and his family.

He wields his iconic rope dart to make his enemies get over here. He also possesses a katana that he can set on fire and teleportation to give his opponents a fiery surprise attack from behind.

He is known for his rivalry with another series regular, Sub Zero. Their rivalry has spanned the entire franchise but has mellowed down over the years as they even started working with each other.

His iconic “GET OVER HERE” taunt is voiced by the co-creator of Mortal Kombat, Ed Boon himself.

3. Mordecai - Borderlands Franchise

“Ah, another day. Another kill”

Appearing in every Borderlands game in the series, Mordecai first appeared in the original 2009 Borderlands game as “The Hunter”.

He uses his sniper rifle to execute long range assassinations and with the help of his BFF Bloodwing, he uses her for support and reconnaissance for scoping out terrain and intel of enemies.

He first knew of his prowess for long range accuracy at the age of 17 when he joined and won a marksman competition with only the use of a pistol while everyone else used sniper rifles.

Since then he has been racking up kills and contracts and came out alive and on top in every single one.

He first teamed up with the original vault hunters in the 2009 Borderlands game along with Roland, Lilith, and Brick.

He has since split apart from his original team to form a sub team with Brick as they adopted another series regular and fan favorite, Tiny Tina.

But few of these big bald bambinos can measure up to the mystique and or skills of Hitman’s Agent 47.

Agent 47 is the top ranked assassin of the world spanning International Contract Agency until he exposed the agency to the public which then ended its existence for good.

Since the dissolution of the ICA, he and his associate Diana Burnwood are now freelance mercenaries on a contract-for-hire basis that goes to the highest bidder.

He is a genetically modified and physically superior human being that allows him to see things at a slower rate while also moving faster than a normal human. He can headshot a room full of 20 enemies before they even have time to raise their weapons.

His genetically enhanced physiology also lets him see tracks and evidence that is not normally seen by even the most hardened detectives and is a master of disguise and his signature Hardballer Longslide Silenced Pistols.

Only two of his targets have survived in his whole career, Mark Faba and his associate Diana.

Have you felt lost lately and you don't know which class to play with? I'm here to help! Here are the best class specializations you could possible choose. All of them are insanely strong so be not afraid to pick the one that best suits you.

10. Arcane Warrior

This mage specialization is an ancient one. It was used by mages among the ancient elves. These mages can use their magic score to equip higher-level weapons and armor without or with the same amount of fatigue as a normal warrior. You can get this specialization during the Nature of the Beast quest.

The Arcane Warrior is the strongest specialization for a mage. It allows you to deal great amounts of damage with your basic attacks. It also enables the mage to wear heavy armor without penalties, meaning that you will be a mage tank. Combined with Blood Mage and Spirit Healer it can be extremely deadly. Try to prioritize the spells that buff you and your team and those that nerf the enemies. Remember your basic attacks will do a lot of damage so the spells that deal damage aren't your priority. I would recommend only using 2 damage spells. Consider the ones that have a big area of effects like fireball or inferno. I find it a bit boring to my play style. But is worth it if you want to prove yourself in Nightmare difficulty.

What Arcane Warrior Excels in:

Solo playthrough (without party) because is invincible. No enemy can face the Arcane Warrior and walk away alive.
Receiving and making high amounts of damage.
It’s the most broken subclass in the whole game. There’s nothing that can beat the Arcane Warrior.

Choose Arcane Warrior if:

You're not a pro in dragon age but want to play as a mage. It’s well known that at the beginning of the game, mages suffer quite a lot. This specialization will be pretty good to avoid death as you grow your character.
You want to play in Nightmare difficulty without getting killed.
Your strategy focuses only on your character and not on the whole party.

9. Templar (Warrior)

If you're a Dragon Age player you will already know what templars do. They kill mages, right? This means they can deal with magic forces pretty well. A Templar can dispel magic while resisting its damage. Templar can be unlocked by asking Alistair to teach the specialization or by buying the manual that Bodahn sells at the camp. You can combine it with Champion, this way your warrior will be invincible. I don't recommend choosing Templar as the main subclass. It's weak in the first levels.

What Templar Excels in:

Since magic damage is the most powerful type of damage in the game, templars are always a great addition. This subclass excels there where the enemies are mostly armed with mages, demons, abominations, and other magic forces. It might be weak against non-magic damage enemies at first.
Enemies with a lot of crowd control. The templar can dispel crowd control easily.
Battles where the Templar can cover the party members and take damage for them.

Choose Templar if:

You're beginning in the game or you're already a veteran and know how to build it correctly. It's not so relevant overall but it will increase its solo power.
You sympathize with Templars. I don’t and I will never do, I’ve always been a mage player and I couldn’t dislike templars more.
You struggle with mages or other magic forces. The Templar will be an easy solution.

8. Champion

This is by far the best specialization for a warrior. A Champion is a veteran warrior that has gathered enough experience on the battlefield to be a motivational leader. These usually are commanders of an army. It can be unlocked after completing The Urn of Sacred Ashes quest as an Arl Eamon gift or through the secret companion.

What Champion Excels in:

The Champion will be extremely good in a team fight while being solo its power decreases.
This subclass is better at giving buffs to the party. It is the best addition you can have for them.
Buffing, taking damage, and doing considerable amounts of damage. Is like the perfect support for the team.

Choose this subclass if:

You like being a tank and supporting your team. Remember you will not be the main fountain of damage.
You want to be unbeatable (if building correctly).
You like to always play with your party and NOT solo.

7. Berserker

The classic warrior subclass. In the Dragon Age universe, the first berserker were dwarves. Therefore the brutality for what they're well known. This specialization is unlocked by asking Oghren to teach you or by buying a manual from Gorim at Denerim.

It can go very well with Champion if you want to play it tanky anyways. My recommendation is to use it as a full damage warrior and combine it with Reaver. You have to always keep in mind you're not a tank and you will not buff your team either. Just be careful and play along with your health regeneration.

What Berserker Excels in:

Berserker is best at doing high amounts of damage and regenerating health. It has proven to be better if built to do damage instead of a tank build.
Is the deadliest type of Warrior but it’s also the hardest to use in the right way. For clean fights and tactical decisions, this subclass is perfect.
Fighting enemies with low resistance like mages.

Choose Berserker if:

You're already an experienced warrior. If you don't know how to play this subclass it might be weak in team fights. If your party and tactics aren't chosen according to your Berserker power, it will also be a failure.
You’re willing to go full agro and sacrifice the tank side.
You want a challenging playthrough. This is the hardest warrior subclass. If not used correctly, is just thrash.

6. Reaver

Possibly the most underrated subclass. And because of that, my favorite. It is an odd specialization taught by demonic forces to these terrifying warriors. Yes, not only Blood Mage can be learned from demons. And not only mages can enjoy the power of demonic spirits.

What Reaver Excels in:

The Reaver is great at doing high amounts of damage and in crowd control exchanging HP for damage.
It makes a great combination with Berserker; while Reaver will also gain health regeneration, Berserker will make it even better. Your sustain is higher with that combo. You might also like to combine it with Champion if you prefer survival over damage. But is not that good if built as a tank.
Bloody fights with a considerable amount of strategy. Reaver needs to be controlled all the time and is better at team fights.

Choose this class if:

You're an expert at playing as an aggressive warrior. Keep in mind you have to use your potions very well. This isn't like a tank warrior that will just stand in the middle of the fight-throwing abilities without dying at all. This requires a lot of experience and management of your tactics, talents, and party in general.
You want to go full agro in every fight.
You want to test how far you can take the Reaver. You will get surprised on how deadly it is.

5. Spirit Healer (mage)

No party can go out safely without a healer. The Healer is always needed and appreciated. These mages are crucial for some encounters that might result challenging. They channel the energy of benevolent spirits of the fade. These spirits are made of life energy, they send this energy to those who call them to heal the wounded. Spirit Healer can be unlocked by buying the Manual from the tranquil in the Wonders of Thedas shop at Denerim.

There are better buffs at dragon age for your team, to be honest. Wynne is a Spirit Healer and I find her rather useless. Different from Dragon Age Inquisition where healers are actually very important only because there's no competition. Having so many choices in DAO for buffing your team makes the healer irrelevant.

What Spirit Healer Excels in:

Spirit Healer will shine in the back of the party, there where no one can hit them. Unless you combine it with Arcane Warrior, it won't last much time if receiving damage.
Protecting the Spirit Healer will be enough to keep your party members alive. Even if they die, you'll be able to revive them. Just be sure they die close to each other. This way you'll cast one spell and revive many allies at the same time.
Difficult fights that require a lot of healing and buffs.

Choose Spirit Healer if:

You're willing to play a passive role by buffing your team and not taking part in the fight. At least not directly.
You will take another mage on your party to do damage. It is well known that mages are the most broken thing in the game. This is why I prefer an aggressive mage with few buffing spells instead of a Healer. With the Healer the mage's potential feels wasted.
You’re not interested in the many amazing spells mages have and instead you’re going full support.

4. Assassin

The classic specialization for a Rogue. Can't get deadlier than this. The Assassin will use all the enemy's weaknesses in its favor. Is a fast, squishy, deadly friend. You must use daggers, of course. To unlock Assassin you can ask Zevran to teach you or buy the Manual from Alarith at his shop in the Denerim Alienage. Assassin rogues are fun and require a lot of skill to play it correctly. But they will never be as useful or strong as a mage or a warrior.

What Assassin Excels in:

As with every Rogue, they're lethal and hard to catch. Fast auto attacks are their principal weapon, not their abilities. They will shine if used smartly and carefully.
They're useless if you let the AI guide them. You have to always keep a close eye on what the Rogue is doing. Especially if you pick Assassin or Duelist. They're weak and will not survive lots of damage. This is why they are pros at flanking the enemy with their stealth and backstab abilities. They are not supposed to receive damage from the front.
They are better at killing single vulnerable enemies. Try not to risk yourself with enemies like dragons.

Choose Assassin if:

You believe you can be as clean as water during fight encounters. Fail to dodge one strong ability and consider yourself doomed.
It represents a very challenging playthrough. Perhaps the most challenging one after a bow rogue. If you’re ready then go for it, you will have lots of fun.
You like fast skilled characters and you’re willing to replace utility over damage.

3. Spirit Warrior

This subclass is similar to Templar and Arcane Warrior. It gives a non-mage the chance to be in contact with magic from the fade. The spirits in the fade grant powerful energies to the Spirit Warrior to help them during a fight. This one can be unlocked in the Awakening DLC. Buy the Manual from Octham at the City of Amaranthine.

What Spirit Warrior Excels in:

They will resist magical damage like a templar and they will do magical damage.
They're great at most fights since they can resist the strongest kind of damage in the game. Which is magic.
I believe Spirit Warrior is perfect for a tank warrior. The spells/talents will allow you to gain bonuses and evade a grand proportion of physical attacks and magic spells.
The Spirit Warrior is basically unkillable and the damage it does is no joke. This makes it one of the greatest and strongest warriors in the game.

Choose Spirit Warrior if:

You want to try a complete solo play in Nightmare. I guarantee you will not regret it. This class is broken beyond comparison.
You want to test the limits of the Spirit Warrior. This is just a super fun experience.
You want proof that there’s this class that doesn’t need a party to win the game. Meaning you won’t have to take anybody in your journey.

2. Ranger

There aren't a lot of fans of this subclass. Understandable. Rangers are not impressive rogues but they are very useful. They will summon a friend pet to fight by your side. You can unlock this specialization by purchasing the Manual from Bodahn at the party camp.

The great thing about the Ranger is that you can summon 2 friend pets if you have enough stamina. Each pet has different stats and abilities. They are extremely useful for a blood mage since they can be the blood sacrifice. As a rogue, you're a weak melee fighter. This makes you an easy target. The bear pet will be able to tank damage for you, the spider will give some crowd control and high-damage attacks with the poison. The wolf has the same abilities as the Mabari, is fast, nerfs the enemy team, and has crowd control. The fact that you can summon two of these pets makes the ranger really strong. Two free additions for your party make it quite broken. The only bad thing is if you disable your pet. Don't do it, trust me.

What Ranger Excels in:

It gives higher chances of survival. For the weakest and useless class in the game, Ranger is the best you can choose. This way the rogue isn’t as useless as it seems. Adding two pet friends will allow you to play safer.
Team fights are what you’re looking for. Never alone. Is not as powerful by himself.
Challenging fights were the 5 party members seem to be insufficient.

Choose this class if:

You think rogues are only useful for opening chests. The Ranger will totally change your mind.
You’re a rogue player and want to try something different.
You want an easy and fun-to-play subclass.

1. Keeper

As an elven fan, I couldn't let this subclass out. In fact, I resent so much that Bioware decided not to continue this tree of abilities. The Keeper is the leader of a dalish clan and also the strongest member of the clan. As a specialization it allows you to use nature in your favor. It's available at Awakening. To unlock it buy the Manual sold by Henley at the City of Amaranthine. The only negative side is that spells cost quite a lot and cooldowns are high.

What Keeper Excels in:

They deal huge amounts of damage, they have crowd control and survival tools like life regen.
They shine in most battles with enemy crowds since all their spells have a big area of effect and they will not be as vulnerable as other mages. It is a unique way of playing a mage.
One With Nature is a very useful spell when you need to leave your mage in a safe position. This makes them unreachable.

Choose Keeper if:

You know exactly how to use your abilities without wasting them. It's a hard subclass if you haven't practiced with mages.
If you're willing to try something different. It's nothing like other magical specializations, definitely worth trying.
You’re an elven fan and just like me, you enjoy of everything related to nature. The spells are visually attractive and fun to play with.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is set during the Industrial Revolution that follows twin assassins Jacob and Evie Frye as they rescue London from the evil Templars who rule over all of society. The story is entertaining enough to learn on its own, but Syndicate takes a surprising turn and doesn't rush you down that path. After completing an initial series of plot objectives, you're free to wander about London at your leisure, with no invisible barriers in your way. Syndicate has gangs formed up at various character levels all across the city. A direct assault to your assassin, usually means an increase in difficulty, cheap equipment and little upgrades at the outset.

There is no easy difficulty setting in Syndicate.

The difficulties are graded on a scale of one to three stars: one for regular, two for severe, and three for insane difficulty. A single star would be regarded as average or normal play difficulty.

The game's maximum level is 10, and players must spend 18 skill points to get from level 9 to the maximum level. Leveling is a process that takes time.

After that, go to the Gameplay sub-menu.
Finally, select a level of difficulty by selecting the one-star difficulty.

Choose this difficulty if:

You are just starting out the series.
You want to progress faster in the game.
You enjoy exploration over combat.
You desire casual play.

Two Star Difficulty:

This difficulty set is set to a more advanced level and requires a more heightened level of alertness during the game, since you come across more enemies and targets to assassinate, there's a lot more strategy involved, where you will have to think outside the box to execute your targets. The difficulty in skill is vamped to give you a much more filling experience.

How It Works:

Go to the Main Menu and select Options to modify the difficulty level of your game.
After that, go to the Gameplay sub-menu.
Finally, select a level of difficulty by selecting the two-star difficulty.

Choose this difficulty if:

You’re looking for a challenge.
You want to have much more filling experience.
Have a good skill set built in your assassins.
Enjoy stealth driven gaming.
You find strategic gameplay enjoyable.
You want to unlock and earn in game items at a faster pace.

Three Star Difficulty:

This difficulty set is set to the most insane level, it is known as to really bring on a challenge and have you engaged for quite some time before the actual completion of the game depending on how well your skills are. You can expect to be challenged on your skills, combat and strategic abilities in navigating through alleyways of London as you take on the greatest number of enemies which will require a high level of strategic gameplay skill. The difficulty is aimed at pro gamers who enjoy challenging themselves.

How It Works:

Go to the Main Menu and select Options to modify the difficulty level of your game.
After that, go to the Gameplay sub-menu.
Finally, select a level of difficulty by selecting the three-star difficulty.

Choose this difficulty if:

You’re not an armature to the Assassin's Creed Series.
You’re looking for a challenge.
You enjoy getting your hands bloody.
You’re not afraid to die in the game.
You enjoy fast paced Action during combat.
Have a good skill set built in your assassins.
You enjoy taking on high amounts of enemies during combat.
You want to unlock and earn in game items at the fastest pace.
You’re a pro gamer.

Some do it for money. Some for creed. Some for survival. Assassins in video games have varying reasons for doing what they do and killing what they kill.

They all have different methods as well. They’ve also appeared in quite the variety of games over the years. I’m about to count down the best of the best.

15. Dishonored

His name is Corvo. His motive is vengeance for the death of the empress and his being framed for her murder. This game has plenty of options for assassination, including not killing at all. Stealth, combat, and some strange abilities give the gameplay a good spice of variety.

14. Dishonored 2

This sequel to the aforementioned game shakes things up. The story can take one of two paths, following Corvo or the new empress, Emily, whom the player takes control of. New locations such as Karnaca and the Dust District, as well as new powers and upgrades, help this dark sequel shine.

Set during the Cold War, this game follows the exploits of Russian agent Alekhine. He specializes in assassination (big surprise). His morals lead him down a path to an unsanctioned mission. This game involves creativity and stealth. You’ll have to track enemy movements throughout a given environment. You can even steal clothes to blend in with others at your location.

11. Hitman: Absolution

Agent 47 is on the run and out for redemption (and blood). What starts as a mission from the Agency turns into a shocking betrayal. Another game that encourages creative gameplay, this title allows players to pursue targets from a stealthy approach, or from a head-on, combative one. There’s even an online mode where you can design your own missions, complete with rules and weapons.

10. Hitman 2

In this entry, you once again fill the shoes of Agent 47. This time, he must take on the mysterious Shadow Client (now there’s a bad guy name), and learn more about the secrets of his own past. This new release is filled with the creative and improvised gameplay that the series is known for. Assassinate targets however you see fit. In addition, the game has a sniper mode and co-op play, a first for the series.

If you want an advantage, have a good vantage… point.

I’m just saying, the object to the left looks much more suited to climbing.

9. Sword with Sauce

Honestly, there isn’t much of a story to this one. You’re dropped in what looks like a pre-rendered location among a group of pre-rendered character models. However, none of that stops this casual action game from being a blast. You pick a level, pick a weapon, and go to work taking out enemies however you see fit. Also, when I say “pick a weapon,” there really is quite a selection, with everything from self-destructing crabs to miniature black holes.

Go ahead and unleash that chaos.

The final game in the Ezio Auditore trilogy of this series, this entry takes place in the 16th Century Ottoman Empire. When not fighting Templars, there’s plenty to do and see throughout Istanbul, including meeting the young Prince Suleiman, a famous figure from that time period. Methods like the hidden blade and the poison blade are back, but the new hook blade allows for innovative combat and higher climbing. There is also bomb crafting for those who prefer to do their work from a distance.The view in these games is always fire.

At first glance, you may wonder how a 2D platformer can have solid content in terms of assassination. Well, this game about a ninja defending his clan is more than meets the eye. There is plenty of darkness to take cover in and plenty of places to hide. Then you just surprise your enemy via sword. This game is atmospheric and fun for anyone who enjoys assassination or platforming.

6. Sniper Elite 4

It's kind of their whole thing.

Here’s a relatively straightforward period piece: You’re a sniper in WWII Italy. You take out Nazis. That’s pretty much it. However, like any good game, there’s a lot more to it than just a basic story. You can develop your assassin’s abilities with different skill trees to create your own brand of sniper. You can also use weapons such as traps and grenades to ensnare and destroy your targets.

We need more rooftops like this these days.

5. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3

In this game, you play an American sniper in Georgia (the country, not the state. That would be a very different game). The game has features like weather and a day/night cycle to contend with. In addition, you’ll get to choose your play style based on three distinct classes: sniper (of course) for long-range players, ghost for those who prefer a stealthy, close and personal touch, and warrior, for players that prefer a good shoot-em-up.

That is a beautiful scope, such inspired design.

4. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China

This spinoff, while introducing some platforming, retains the core elements of the main series. You play as the last Assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood, out for revenge for your fallen brothers. Though it has one half less dimensions than the core series, this game has all the elements: Zeroing in on targets, hiding, disguising, distracting, and killing, all while immersed in a richly realized environment.

When stealth just doesn’t cut it.

3. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist

Playing as Sam Fisher, you’re given free reign to do whatever you must to stop a group of terrorists called the Engineers. They want to start a series of attacks called the Blacklist (hence the title), and it’s up to you to bring the Whiteout (I thought it was funny). Playing in all sorts of locations, you can choose from three play styles (not unlike another entry on this list): a sneaky ghost, a combative assault, or a deadly and efficient panther.

Personally, I would’ve gone with the shotgun on his back there.

These bad guys appear to have Stormtrooper aim.

2. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

In this game, Snake wakes up after a nine-year coma, and seeks his revenge on XOF. How does he do this? He forms a private army of course! Like the best assassin games, this one has open world elements to let you choose how to carry out missions. You can even connect with other consoles for online play in this beautifully rendered title.

It had to be from this series, didn’t it (haters gonna hate)? This is one of the darkest games in the series, where you play as an ex-Assassin turned Assassin hunter named Shay Cormac. This provides a fresh perspective on the series’ usual exploits. You can experience series staples like gathering information and hunting down targets via blades, hidden and otherwise. However, this game’s other core strength comes from bringing the sailing and exploring elements from Black Flag. This gives the game variety in gameplay, which only serves to make it more fun.

Nice double-cross (holds for laughter).

Actually some of my favorite parts of these games were the navel sections.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a game by Ninja Theory. Ninja Theory are the same folks that brought us Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and the DMC reboot.

This game takes place within Celtic lore where you play a woman named Senua. She is a Pict warrior on a vision quest to save the soul of her dead lover from Hell. She also battles her own internal demons along the way.

The environments are amazing, the emphasis on the subliminal is key, and the audio creates an atmosphere that is unlike any other game out there. This is a must play for fans of GoW, Devil May Cry, and Silent Hill.

Take on the depths of Hell and your own madness to save the one you love. Not bad for a Tuesday.

Face your demons figuratively and literally. Let the sword do the talking as you take on Hell itself.

11. DMC Devil May Cry

This is another game on the list by Ninja Theory. Devil May Cry was originally a Capcom franchise that was outsourced to Ninja Theory and took us all by surprise in 2013.

In retrospect, it was good to have fresh eyes on the series after 4 Capcom sequels things were starting to feel very meh. Enter 2013’s DMC. Dante has a completely new look, agenda, and storyline.

The foundations are still in tact but enough has changed this time around to feel you haven’t done this all before. The visuals are always top notch and the controls responsive and tight.

The music is slamming and fuels the intensity and vibe of the game. The challenge is there too, especially on Hard difficulty setting for those that like extra intense. DMC not only rebooted but also revived the Devil May Cry series. Check it out on Steam right now.

When Coney Island and the Devil collide. Buckle up.

When the gap is too far to jump, use other tools at your disposal. Problem solved.

Konami’s long running Castlevania series found a huge success with the first Lords of Shadow. But the sequel is considered by many to be even better than the original.

You play as Dracula, who was once Gabriel Belmont from the previous game. But now overcome by the forces of evil, Dracula sets out for redemption and to defeat his former master Satan.

The gameplay mechanics in this game are the best in the series to date. Offering hack n slash fighting, huge boss fights, and platforming puzzles. This is another must play title on the list.

9. Bayonetta

Bayonetta is an all-out action hack n slasher by Platinum Games. Platinum are the same developers behind Vanquish, Nier, and Metal Gear Rising.

This game is very similar in gameplay to Devil May Cry but has enough difference in presentation and style to not be considered a clone. If anything, Bayonetta does what Devil May Cry does only better in every way. From the start of the opening scene of the game, things are over-the-top to a level on par with Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. It’s an unforgettable experience of physical and magical attacks, waves of enemies, and boss fights that require quick thinking and faster reflexes.

If you loved Sekiro Shadows Die Twice then Bayonetta is mandatory on PC.

When your so tough you beat up giant demons with your hands only.

The portals keep opening and the monsters keep on coming. Bring it on!

8. NIOH

Nioh Gameplay

Nioh is another incredible title on the list brought to you by Team Ninja. Not to be confused with Ninja Theory! Team Ninja are the developers behind the Ninja Gaiden and the Dead or Alive series.

Nioh takes place in fictional 1600’s Japan. You play as William, who is hired by the locals to clear out and destroy all demons running amuck. This PS4 exclusive became not so exclusive anymore when it landed on PC in 2017 including all of the DLC.

Nioh is an action slasher rage fest similar to Dark Souls or Bloodbourne only with a Samurai twist. Some like it even more than Dark Souls and that’s saying a lot. For anyone who has yet to play Nioh, think Onimusha Warriors plus Dark Souls II. This is a definite buy.

Demon hunter for hire is a good job they said. Man, I should have finished college.

I’m sorry does this hurt? Good. I will be sure to do it again.

7. Darksiders 3

Darksiders III Gameplay

THQNordic’s new Darksiders game looks really promising. Picking up where Darksiders 2 left off, we play as another of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

This time playing as Fury, the female Rider whose main weapon is a whip and she’s ready to use it. Fury is out to hunt down and destroy the Seven Deadly Sins of Earth.

Each Sin has its own unique level design and fight patterns adding to the stages. On top of the action fighting is platforming and puzzles to further progress in the story. For anyone who hasn’t played Darksiders yet, think Mega Man meets Prototype.

This is one of the most promising on the entire list. Pick up the first two games on Steam to either hold you over or refresh you before playing part III.

When a problem comes a long, you must whip it. Whip it good.

When you are the first ones to the party and the awkward silence kicks in.

6. Shadow of Mordor

Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Interactive made something special with Shadow of Mordor. Set within J.R.R. Tolkien Universe, the story takes place in between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

It’s an open world game similar to Assassin’s Creed but with the fighting mechanics of the Batman Arkham series. These elements all come together to make a really memorable experience.

The combos can get ridiculous in battle too. Especially when entire Orc legions come at you from out of nowhere. The graphics look fantastic and you need decent hardware to run the game on Ultra settings. Look for this on sale on Steam fairly often for as low as $10 including all DLC. Definitely worth it.

Epic swordplay action. This is what happens when your roommate eats the last slice of pizza.

I’m not an Orc doctor but that doesn’t look healthy. Might want to get that looked at.

5. Attack on Titan 2

Omega Force is back with the second installment of the Attack on Titan video game series. These games are based off the popular Anime series of the same name.

Attack on Titan 2 plays at times like an interactive episode of the anime and then switches over to real time combat making for a unique experience. The storyline is mostly fluff because the focus of these games is the action and taking on the Titans.

Battles require strategy and patience making the victories feel satisfying and well earned. The gameplay is similar to Monster Hunter games or Shadow of Colossus only with a manga twist.

If you’re still on the fence just know that it has a rating of 9/10 on Steam.

Take on Titans of the Earth… unless they grab you first and squeeze you like an ant.

He laughs at the pain and we see that as a challenge. Turn the smile upside down.

4. Nier: Automata

Nier: Automata is an amazing game developed by Platinum Games. Other Platinum titles like Bayonetta made the list as well but Nier offers far more depth in story narrative and character development.

This is considered by many to be the best overall Platinum Games title and it’s easy to see that argument once you’ve played it. The game offers a mix of third person open world action in addition to old school arcade minigames and puzzles.

Mix that all in with a really compelling storyline and cast and you will be hooked. This is one of the best modern classics on all of Steam.

Sounds like hype but it’s not. This game is fundamental to any PC collection.

Fighting giants in high heels while being blindfolded. Piece of cake.

When saving the world, be sure your sword weighs more than you. Heroism 101.

3. Conan Exiles

Conan Exiles is a third person adventure survival game by Funcom. You play as a nameless protagonist who starts off the game convicted of crimes, shunned by your own people, and sentenced to death. Just as your character is about to die in exile, you get rescued by Conan the Barbarian and live again as an outcast.

But in order to survive now, you must live off the land. The game has an open world full of things to discover and overcome. Almost everything in this game can kill you from the weather, to predators, to other humans and tribes.

Survival is key and a full-time job. You can play the game offline single player or online multiplayer making the experience much more chaotic and fun.

Add this one to your PC library and get ready to die a lot.

Taking on the gods all by yourself seemed like a good idea at the time. Now, not so much.

When you said a snake, I thought you meant ya know, one little snake!

2. Ryse: Son of Rome

Ryse is an Xbox One launch title that also found its way onto the PC. It takes place during the Roman Empire with your character battling his way to legendary status.

The game has solid third person combat with an emphasis on chaining large combos. The graphics are notably gorgeous running on the Crytek engine and the visuals will be the first thing you notice. The fighting feels rewarding based on color coded combat combos (say that three times fast). This means looking for button prompts similar to quick time events that occur during each battle.

The game boasts a vast array of ways to kill your opponents too, which helps things feel less repetitive over the course of the game. The biggest complaint about Ryse: Son of Rome is that it could be longer. That’s a pretty good complaint to have.

3 on 1, I like those odds. This is where the saying “Let’s take this outside” came from.

Good job out there today defending Rome and all that. You can let go of my hand now.

1. Warhammer 40k: Space Marine

THQ and Relic Entertainment made a really epic third person action game in Warhammer: Space Marine. The game is broken up between cinematic cut scenes, melee close range combat, and long-range shooting.

The set pieces are memorable with unique environments and atmosphere. The map is more linear in nature but the gameplay is so over the top fun you won’t really notice.

You command the leader of a small platoon of Ultramarines as they fight back against never ending waves of space orks to defend your assets at all costs.

This game is a must play any fans of the Gears of War series bringing over the best elements of those games into in the Warhammer universe.

With this many Space Orks you better send in the big guns.

Operation Kill’em All was a success. Exclude no one.

10 Deadly Assassins From Video Games

Stealth based games can be incredibly rewarding. Remaining hidden while disposing of your targets requires great skill and practice, but these 10 video game characters certainly seem to have it down. Of course, you could always choose to take a gun’s blazing full frontal attack style approach in these games, but that wouldn’t be any fun now would it? Here we go, the top 10 deadly characters from assassin games:

10. Sub-Zero

SubZero looks cooler than ever in Mortal Kombat X.

Sub-Zero is one of the most iconic characters for the Mortal Kombat series. The character is played by two brothers, the younger who takes up the role after the older dies. They serve as a hitman for the Lin Kuei clan and have been ordered to kill the host Shang Tsung. When the older brother fails the younger steps up and takes his place.

Sub-Zero’s mastery over the frozen element makes him a powerful foe to be reckoned with. He can swirl ice around and shape it into sharp spears. He can freeze you to the ground where you walk and dismember your body. However, the reason he isn’t any higher up on this list is due to the fact that he always fights his opponents face to face in a ring. Assassins don’t duel someone until their health bar is depleted. It seems to work for this guy though.

9. Travis Touchdown

Travis Touchdown already looks like a guy you wouldn't like.

The No More Heroes series follows Travis Touchdown as he decides to become an assassin and climb the ranks of the UAA (United Assassin Association). Travis was a normal Otaku before he decided to go into the business of killing. That meant that he was deeply addicted to video games, manga, anime, and wrestling. The turning point for Travis was when he realized that he could no longer afford new video games, so he accepted a hitman job for cash.

What makes Travis so dangerous isn’t the ridiculous beam like light-saber weapon he bought online, but the fact that he simply doesn’t care. Travis just wants to chill and play video games and watch wrestling, nothing else matters. Your life doesn’t matter. This is what makes him so deadly, being apathetic to the value of human life.

8. Dark Brotherhood

The creepiest assassin group in any game!

The Dark Brotherhood is an organization of assassins found in Skyrim. They hide in the shadow and kill their targets with skill and precision. Subtlety is key and remaining unnoticed is vital, unless you’re the Dragonborn of course.

After joining the Dark Brotherhood you will get consistant jobs to go out and kill the organizations targets. Since you are so ridiculously powerful and can shout with the power of dragons, you don’t have to follow the directives. Instead of killing the target, how about wiping the entire village off the map? The Dragonborn is really one of only few video game assassins that can charge in head first and kill everyone and get away with it.

7. HK-47

This robot proves that AI can always do better what humans can't.

You purchase this bloodthirsty droid on Tatooine in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This droid is unlike all other droids in so many ways. For starters, he refers to all organic life forms as “meatbags,” which can get old pretty quick since it is often aimed as a derogatory remark towards you. HK 47 was used as hitman robot before you bought him. He probably has more blood on his metal hands then you can imagine. To be fair though, it seems as if the droid was only used to assassinate targets that posed a threat to the galaxy. Although, who made those judgement calls we can’t say.

6. Nina Williams

Nina takes the trophy for the sexiest assassin on this list. She has appeared in all Tekken games in the franchise and is well known by the fighting game community. While she shares the same problem that Sub-Zero does in that she always fights her targets in a controlled environment face to face, her good looks and great back story put her higher up on the list.

Nina was taken by an underground force as a child and shaped into a perfect assassin. She is cold and indifferent towards all others except her sister Anna, who is constantly trying to reach out to her. Throughout the Tekken games she is often hired to eliminate other characters such as Heihachi, Kazuya, and Steve Fox, but her real intentions often revolve around settling a grudge between her and her sister.

Nina’s fighting style is fast and powerful. She often fights in high heels, which doesn’t make much sense to be honest, but it makes for some brutal kick attacks. Her chain grabs and throws are difficult to execute , but a skilled Nina player could beat almost anyone.

5. Phantom Assassin

The Sisters of the Veil is a radical coven that takes children that have been chosen away and trains them in the lethal arts of assassination. Not much is known about this group other than that they receive their targets through divine guidance. The assassins in the coven are not known by name or number, except for Mortred. She speaks her name when no one is near enough to hear it, perhaps as a reminder of who she once was.

Mortred: The Phantom Assassin is one of the DOTA 2’s heaviest melee carry heroes. While she is incredibly farm dependent, she can last hit with her stifling dagger ability. This eliminates a huge weakness and allows her to itemize differently than other carries. What truly makes her shine though is her ultimate which is the hardest crit strike ability in the game.

4. Corvo

Corvo's motives are honest, but he is a brutal killer.

Corvo from the Dishonored franchise is the embodiment of the American dream; The idea that if you work hard you can achieve anything you want. Growing up without a father, Corvo lived on the streets. He fought a lot as a child until his big break came in winning a fencing competition at 16. Following that, through hard work and dedication, Corvo became one of the Royal Protectors. All was well and Corvo was finally happy, until he was framed for the empress’s murder and thrown into prison that is.

After his escape from Coldridge prison Corvo becomes a cold blooded killer intent on clearing his name and getting revenge. His lethal skills are widely known and you can overhear guards and civilians talking about how awesome you are in the game. Corvo is one of the best killers in all current assassin games on the market.

3. Zed

Zed is a free elo machine.

Assassin is the name of the game in the current League of Legends meta, and Zed has found his niche in killing noobs. He is currently one of the strongest mid-laners in the game and is very difficult to play against. His high mobility coupled with his insane damage output makes him really strong and popular, especially in lower elo matches.

Zed is the product of an overzealous ninja student seeking out a dark forbidden art. He was strictly prohibited from doing so, but he disobeyed and left his monastery. Later he came back and killed his master and fought his old friend and rival Shen in battle. In layman’s terms, Zed is kind of a douche.

2. Agent 47

Agent 47 finally getting his weapons back.

The legendary hitman from the Hitman series is usually one of the first characters we think about when we discuss video game assassins. He was engineered and created to be an assassin. As a result he has a pretty dark childhood and not a lot of feelings. Although in the latest installment Hitman: Absolution, we get to see a new side of him.

Agent 47 is the assassins name because the bar code on the back of his head ends with 47. He works for the Agency in eliminating high profile targets. You can choose to follow the game rules and sneak around and only killing who you have to, or you could pick up a shotgun and mow down everyone until there are no witnesses left. Either way works.

1. Ezio

He comes from a long line of Assassins.

The number 1 spot on our list goes to the video game protagonist from the Assassins Creed games, Ezio. The Florentine nobleman was totally unaware of his family’s involvement with the assassin brotherhood until he observed his family get hanged. That kind of stuff does things to a man. As a result Ezio donned the iconic white robe, put the famous wrist blades on, and proceeded to seek revenge against the Templar Order.

Ezio has the uncanny ability to blend in almost anywhere. No one can detect him or see him coming before it is too late. Some of his other awesome skills involve falling from great heights into bales of hay, and intimidating thugs for information. While Ezio has the perfect arsenal of abilities for executing his targets silently, he could also just kill everyone in sight. No one can notice if there is no one to notice right?
