The star wars community has been getting bigger over the past years, with all the movies and games virtual and physical released, there is enough to keep one interested for many years. They have mobile games for both Apple and Android. Today I will be giving a top 10 list of the best Star Wars games for Android.

10. Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes

Year Released November 24th , 2015 (Android, IOS, IPadOS)

Galaxy of Heroes allows players to collect Star Wars characters from both the main canonical universe established after Lucasfilm was acquired by The Walt Disney Company and the Legends-canon Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series. Players can create teams and use them to fight in turn-based battles.

What makes this game interesting is the amount of recent updates. With every new movie/show that comes out their main characters are added and that brings more excitement to the game overall because it keeps everything fresh. The gameplay is also interesting because it's not your average card game, when in battle your entire team is placed down and plays together.

Card games.You can collect all your favorite star wars characters and make the team you always wanted.
Turn based action with a bit of strategy. Having to attack based on turns makes the player need strategy along with a solid team, keeping the games interesting and challenging at times.
A game where you can battle against different enemies from the main era’s. The player has game modes such as light side battles and dark side battles, in these battles you face off against familiar faces and travel to locations like Dathomir for example.

The player builds a squad of up to five of characters to take into battle where he or she engages in combat with another team or opponent. The game has different modes that generally have different build restrictions and some modes allow the player to bring a sixth character supplied by his or her in-game Allies.

What's happening here is a classic battle on one of the modes. Qui-Gon and Chewbacca are supported by a jawa and an ewok.

9. Lego Star Wars TFA

The plot closely follows that of Star Wars The Force Awakens, while adding numerous humor deviations or minor changes to adapt to the two player co-op gameplay. There is also a prologue that shows the Battle of Endor and the defeat of Emperor Palpatine, and the destruction of the Death Star II at the end of Return of the Jedi.

What's interesting about this game is how they introduce voice acting for all of the characters which previous lego titles did not have. (Now instead of the grunts and hmm’s you get conversation)

Fast paced action with humor. This game injects humor whenever it can making the game not boring and the fast pace keeps you on your toes.
Third person view and solving puzzles. The third person view is great because of the open world the players get to discover and the puzzles keeps the game from being too easy at times.
Knowing the extra parts that might not have shown up in the movie. With all the sidequests and different chat dialogue you can learn something new.

LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens introduces new gameplay mechanics, including the enhanced Multi-Builds system, where players can choose from multiple building options to advance the game. Players engage in intense new Blaster Battles for the first time, utilizing surrounding environments to drive back the First Order.

What's interesting about this game is how they combine the first lego star wars game and its sequel into one. The ability to start at the beginning for each saga is great, for example you can start with episode one or go straight to four skipping three and two.

To take place in the main stories as if you were one of the main characters.
Collecting heroes/villains. This is no card game but there are over 40+ characters for the player to unlock, rather it be through the main story or using studs to purchase it.

The objective of the game is to successfully progress through the entire story while collecting Gold Bricks along the way. New additions to The Complete Saga include a 2-player Battle Arena mode called Arcade Mode. There are also “new” Minikit vehicle bonus missions and the red power bricks from Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy.

What's interesting about this game is the design that's put into it. For example one of the maps looks like an imperial hanger. They also included characters from the recent Star Wars titles like the solo movie and the rise of skywalker.

To chill and relax while seeing your favorite characters. This game is great for those times when you have nothing to do and want to get that high score.
Having different levels and scenery. What's great about this game is the map changes and moves sometimes based on what your pinball hits,

The game features power ups on certain targets, a versus battle where you go against another villain from the movies, and the classic pinball style form.

The interesting thing about this game is the amount of starfighters this game has for just being a mobile game.

Star Wars space battles. For a mobile game it's not the best flight game but is really fun when it comes to high scores and getting to the next level.

Star Wars: Commander was a mobile strategy game produced by Disney Interactive that featured characters, locations, and technology from the Star Wars saga. After its limited time run the game was unfortunately shut down In August of 2020. This does not stop it from being on the list as it was still considered a good game at the time.

What was Interesting about this game was the gameplay style. You get to command your forces and take down enemy strong points, get to your opponents base and destroy it and you win. (sounds easier than it really is)

Clash of clans but want a star wars take on it. This game doesn't copy that game all the way, though it uses its format and structure when building bases and defenses.
Strategy and needing to think before you battle. As fun as it is to attack a rebel base with walkers you need to plan out your move before using troops.

Players use the touchscreen as their input and receive orders from the characters using holograms. You build up your base by acquiring credits and alloy and deploying various buildings. Special hero units can be created in the game and these heroes are unique to each side. For example, players on the side of the Rebel Alliance can recruit Han Solo, or Luke skywalker.

4. X Wing Flight

X Wing Flight is a simulator made by fans. Players can pilot an X-Wing to go up against Star Destroyers or Tie fighters. There are three weapons that can be chosen during the fight. Laser, heat seeking missile and ship killer bomb. The objective of the game is to destroy all the enemies.

What's interesting about this game is that for being fan made, this feels like an actual star wars game when it comes to space battles. The sounds added and music played just makes this game better and when you're flying in the trench of the death star in the millennium falcon.

Simulators and want to know what being inside a fighter looks like. This game includes a first person mode where you can see inside the cockpit in detail.
A game where you can test out certain fighters and fight in simple space battles. Now don't let that make you think this isn't any fun, With all simulators this game gives you the experience to play as a starfighter or hero.

The game features in this game are pretty straight forward. You get to choose a ship and battle on select planets and destroy every enemy fighter to win. While doing so you're able to fly around using your touchscreen that has inputs for the controls and have access to one of the three weapons during the game.

3. Lego Star Wars Battles

LEGO Star Wars Battles was a real-time player-versus-player mobile game made by Playdemic. It allows you to play in battlefields set across the galaxy as you have an array of Star Wars characters and vehicles that may be selected for battle against other players.

What's interesting about this game is how it brings lego star wars, mobile games, and Versus battles into one allowing for a good combination that mixes the old with the new.

Choose This Game If You Like :

One on one battles or huge battles. Having the battlefield to use you have the option to only use one character (not recommended) or put down everything you have.
Card games with interactive pieces to it. For every turn an interactive action is made showing the move the player made. It makes the card you have feel alive instead of always in your deck.
Third person real time action. Every time you place a character down you see the game playout in real time. Example seeing darth vader walk after putting him on the field.

The comic series was published by Dark Horse Comics and acts as a prequel to the video game.

What's interesting about this game is how the story is better than the actual gameplay/combat. This game takes you on a classic star wars adventure and adds new lore and reasons for questions we didn't have answers to.

Humor but seriousness at times. The game injects humor at points but can get very dark and serious. For example your companions will say something light hearted and then you're thrown into a cutscene of Malak and his plans.
A game with a fresh Star Wars story to get into. When you play the game and experience the story it will feel as if you're watching a movie.
Being able to have freedom with the character you create. There are 6 classes to choose from and you can customize your build to match that jedi in your roleplay.

Combat is round-based; time is divided into discrete rounds, and combatants attack and react simultaneously. The number of actions a combatant may perform each round is limited while each round's duration is a fixed short interval of real time. The player can configure the combat system to pause at specific events or at the end of each round.

The Vulkars may run things in the undercity though they weren't ready for this! The player had just used a disguise to get down to the lower levels.

1. Star Wars: Knights Of the Old Republic 2 Sith Lords (KOTOR 2)

Year Released December 6th 2004 (Xbox, Microsoft Windows, Linux, OS X, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch)

Knights of the Old Republic II starts five years after the events of the first game and follows the story of The Exile, a Jedi Knight who was exiled from the Jedi Order. During this time, the Jedi Order has been almost completely wiped out by the Sith.

The interesting thing with this game is how it takes place during the aftermath of the 3 wars previously. We get to see the galaxy in a state that's never been seen before. Also because the rush this game went through was more heavy with its writing than the last installment.

Choose This Game If You Like :

Lore and mystery. This game is jam packed with lore from each sides light and dark, and by the beginning of the game you'll have this mystery to figure out. (no spoilers in case you haven't played it)
A game where you can travel with more than one companion. KOTOR 2 allows you to travel with up to 3 characters in your party yourself included.
The first game and I want to know more about that universe. Taking place 5 years after KOTOR 1 you get to see the same planets you visited and witness what years of war did.

Knights of the Old Republic II is not a turn based game but is a role-playing video game played from a third-person view that features pausable real-time combat. Combat and interactions with the environment and non-player characters in KOTOR 2 are based on the d20 System as in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic or D&D. The game starts with a character creation screen with several choices to make and there is also an option of letting the game do it automatically. (sometimes it helps). There are 30 new Force powers, which are manifestations of the Force.

The gameplay mechanics are similar to Final Fantasy as it is a turn-based JRPG. I can even say that it was ahead of its time when it was first released on Android.

The World Ends with You: Solo Remix is a port of the beloved The World Ends with You from Nintendo DS.

Participate in the Reapers’ game as you play as Neku and complete the mission set by the game. It is such a weird and unique game that I must say is timeless and works well on mobile. Although, of course, being a DS game before, they had to revamp the combat system to be optimized on single-screen devices. It is truly one of the best JRPGs for Android.

6. Tower of Fantasy

Tower of Fantasy is one of the modern free-to-play games on Android. It is developed by Hotta Studio and published by Level Infinite globally. Both are from Chinese developers, but despite this, it can easily be noticed that Tower of Fantasy takes inspiration from modern JRPGs such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

It has the aspect of JRPGs through and through, but it is an MMORPG with a mix of gacha elements for its weapons and characters. You can encounter other players in the same server/world, you can raid with a party, or play against other players in PvP.

5. Dragon Quest V

Dragon Quest V for Android is an amazing port of Nintendo DS port of the same name. It is highly recommended to get the game as it is considered as a classic and one of the best JRPGs of its time.

It is a timeless classic with an iconic story, visuals, and soundtrack. The combat system is amazingly well-done and is ported nicely to mobile platforms. This is definitely a must-play for those who have an Android device and love JRPGs.

3. Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is another Chinese-developed game. Although, I believe Genshin Impact is the first one to take inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and incorporate the gacha system with a continuous story that is being updated little by little into the game.

Unlike Tower of Fantasy, Genshin Impact focuses on the single-player experience, while retaining co-op raids if you want to play with friends. The visuals are amazing, and it was mind-blowing to see them on Android. You definitely need a beefy device so you can play it on high settings without lag. Nevertheless, it is a great game with interesting storylines and action-packed gameplay.

2. Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions

Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions is what I consider the best strategy RPG to date. It is disappointing that Square Enix has not yet created a remake or remastered version of this game as it truly deserves one. Nevertheless, I am glad that people can still play it on their Android devices.

It is a strategy RPG with a great storyline that will keep you hanging or asking for more. It is full of betrayal and deceit, which makes it one of the darker Final Fantasy games you can play. There are plenty of jobs to choose from, create a great party, and indulge yourself in the story of how Ramza, the protagonist, saved the world.

1. Final Fantasy VII

Let’s be honest, Final Fantasy VII was a masterpiece when it was first released in 1997, and it still holds up even today.

Even if you have played the remake already, I would still highly recommend that you play the original as they are two different games. The remake is more of a reimagining of the original game, so it is not a 1:1 remake. The story is amazing and iconic, and the gameplay is what pioneered JRPGS back then.

It is a solid RPG that even PC gamers are enjoying the game on Steam. The game is quite challenging considering you will not be able to save while you are exploring dungeons. As you increase your stats such as intelligence, more dialogue options will be unlocked, which can help you in your adventure.

You are able to customize your character with your own playstyle as there are 70 skills and hundreds of items to find in Exiled Kingdoms.

10. AnimA ARPG

AnimA ARPG is a game heavily inspired by classic Diablo games, and they manage to hit every checkbox correctly in creating a great action RPG for Android.

What is amazing about this game is that it is free, and it does not have any predatory in-app purchases so everyone can enjoy the game without having to purchase anything. It is a fast-paced game with a dark fantasy theme that is immersive. You can level up and assign attributes to your character’s stats.

It all fits together well… inspired by 1970s action movies.

Ok, so, you need to survive for as long as possible, with no opponents, but you’ve got constraints. You’ll need to swerve through a gas station to refuel. Or do a flying drive-in for a donut, mmmm, delicious… No! It’s not for you! That’s for when a cop is on your tail, barging you into traffic. Throw it out the window and the cop will get a better idea.

Then you can also wave hi as you fly by a mechanic, who, somehow, don’t ask me how, fixes the damage to your car in a split second. There’s also a big oof: smash straight into a car or barrier and it’s over, you’re done… unless… you watch an ad…

Collect bottle caps all along the route to upgrade cars. It’s alright, the ol’ Volkswagen will still love you. She wants you to be free! Free to roam the dusty roads of small-town, South West US, or the snowy suburbs of UK country towns, or the thick forests of Germany.

Go offroad to collect a couple of coins. Then, go spend those coins to buy a new car, or to change its color - there are loads of customization options.

Apart from just free-roaming, there are a few challenges you can do. You can do a time trial where you hunt checkpoints. Change focus to pathfinding in the aptly named Pathfinders challenge. Or find and transport materials around the map so that you can construct new structures - houses, bridges, roads, and even vehicles. A game that’s a fun way to just mess around, although the UI feels a bit cluttered.

This gameplay loop gave me NFS Underground flashbacks. Really straightforward, but really effective. And the mechanics are also simple, yet effective. Auto-acceleration, hold left or right to drift and release nitrous once you’ve built up enough. The simplicity of this game and the excellent execution of a tried and tested formula are reason enough to try it out.

Another thing I really like in this game are the unnecessarily extravagant jumps. Do a barrel roll in a supercar… why? Because it’s damn awesome that’s why.

As you progress through the career mode, you unlock more races and more cars. Eventually, when you feel up to it, go online to tackle the other players. A very smart game!

Gorgeous, gory graphics delivering that big MK feel in a tiny package.
Smooth controls, though I am not a fan of quick time-like events, I can even admit that it allows for smoother gameplay in the mobile version. The simple tap-based combat, however, is easy to use and a great way to keep the fighting going without overcomplicating things.
Create multiple teams so you can keep playing! MK mobile uses energy like some of the other fighters to play with, so while one team is getting their energy back, you can play with the other team to keep the fun going. Or you can, of course, use in-game currency to just refill your first team’s energy.
Use earned in-game currency to unlock new fighters or earn them through different challenges and modes.
You can earn tons of customizations in Feats of Strength.
You can compete against other players in their Faction Wars Mode. Here you can rank up and win varying prizes.

The fighting style is different from the original Injustice Mobile in that there’s more to it, so be prepared. However, once you get the hang of it, I guarantee you will be happily surprised. There’s a lot more thought put behind fighting now than the original tap and swipe model last time. Although, some of that is still incorporated

Another Kabam title, this easy to play RPG fighter is an awesome addition to any Marvel lovers library, or even to those who aren’t big Marvel fans!

Easy to use tap and dash fighting system.
Beautiful graphics with incredibly smooth animations and cool special moves (especially Deadpool’s, which is hilarious).
Engaging and interesting story mode with great rewards.
Many modes to help you farm the loot you need to upgrade your characters.
There are different star level tiers when it comes to heroes. You can collect new heroes by farming shards and trying your luck in a randomized gatcha-like system, earning them through dailies, free crystals they give out here and there, or farming for units in different modes to buy crystals to try and get champs. There are many ways to get new and cool heroes for you to play with.
The system for story mode works on energy, so once you’re out of juice you have to replenish, but it recovers.
You can join an Alliance with other players, through searching, creating one yourself and recruiting friends, or auto joining an alliance in need of players. This gives you yet again another way to farm more materials to upgrade your heroes, get special crystals, called alliance crystals, and much more.
You can also play against other people in versus to help upgrade your heroes and get more loot.

The King of Fighters franchise has been around since 1994, and like most KOF titles, does not disappoint. Like Final Fighter that I have previously mentioned, KOF Allstars uses a different system: a mix of joystick and tap button inputs to fight off your foes, which I really enjoy. Unlike Final Fighter, I feel its incorporation of the fighting system was a lot more fluid overall.
