1. Police

According to a small study I did with my friends, people trust people in police outfits more in the game.

In this video, you can see a bunch of players playing with the police outfit.

So, the outfit we’re talking about is great: The Police outfit! With the reassuring effects of the color blue, this is surely a lot of people’s favorite outfits. Being an impostor in this outfit would be fun :)

This outfit has:

-A pair of blue pants

-A tiny blue shirt that matches the pants

-A hat

You have to select the blue policeman outfit from the ‘Skin’ section and the blue hat with the yellow badge from the ‘Hat’ section for this outfit.

2. Engineer

The engineer outfit looks very realistic!

Here is a game that shows you the engineer role in the engineer outfit.

As you all know, there’s a role that’s been added to Among Us later in the game: The Engineer!

The engineer can use the vents even though they’re not the impostor and trick people that way.

If you’re the Engineer, you can wear the engineer outfit which you can see in the link above.

This outfit includes:
-Plain blue pants
-Yellow engineer jacket with grey details on it
-A yellow hat for the engineer to not get hurt

You have to choose the dark blue pants and yellow jacket combo from the ‘Skin’ section to make the outfit, and to complete, you have to choose the yellow hat from the ‘Hat’ section.

3. Doctor

In this video, you can see a play where Doctor Mode is activated.

The ‘Doctor Mode’ is also a new role in the game. So, if you’re the doctor, or even if you’re not, you can wear this outfit. You can watch the video above to see how it looks.

The well-known streamer Valkyrae used to wear this exact outfit in Among Us.

This is a known one: The Hockey Mask. Yes, I’m talking about the scary mask. I used to play with this mask too, it’s great!

This outfit only includes the hockey mask but you can add a suit or pants if you’d like.

You have to choose the hockey mask from the ‘Hat’ section for this outfit.

6. Polus Map Skin Bundle: The Red Outfit

There are great outfits here, right? Today we'll be talking about the red one.

To get this outfit, you have to choose the red puffer jacket and the jeans combo + the blue hat.

7. Cute Bear

It really is the cutest outfit in the whole world. The famous streamer Pokimane used to play with this outfit.

9. Captain

Captain America, who?

There's a new role called the Captain role. You have to control the ship in order to play your role good.

If you love being the leader of the ship, then you should definitely choose this outfit. The Captain Outfit is pretty professional-looking as you can see.

This outfit includes
-A black pair of jeans
-A white shirt with a badge on it
-And a white-gold captain’s hat!

To get this outfit, you have to choose the captain’s outfit combo from the ‘Skin’ section and the white-gold hat from the ‘Hat’ section.

10. Lemon

I can't see any differences from a real lemon. Can you?

If you’re saying lemons>apples, then this one's for you. You can turn into a lemon in seconds with the ways I’ll tell you. For example, you can see a person in a lemon outfit standing next to the tree in the video above.

14. White Suit

Ah yes, the classics. Who doesn’t love a classy white suit? Looking vintage+trustworthy is what this outfit will get you.

The most stylish outfit so far.

Looks like someone got jealous of the amount of attention they got.

15. AWAY The Survival Series (Xbox One, PS4, PC, PS5)

Okay, so it’s not the most polished game on this list, but AWAY definitely deserves to be talked about for ambition and innovation alone. You play as a baby sugar glider (basically a flying squirrel) on a journey across a forest to save your family.

If you like nature documentaries, then you are sure to appreciate what AWAY is going for here. The game is worth playing for the first 20 minutes alone as it shows off its allure and atmosphere. There’s some interesting ideas and fun set pieces that are worth checking out and this can certainly be the start of something truly special.

14. Breathedge (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5)

You’re alone in space, like Sandra Bullock in Gravity, and the only thing you got going for you is your wits and even a few funnies. That’s right, there’s a refreshing amount of dark comedy in a game that is about a guy trying to carry his grandfather’s ashes to a galactic funeral only to discover some conspiracies along the way.

You can tell that this was a labour of love for the game developers as they took so much inspiration from retrofuturism and soviet aesthetics to the spooked out atmosphere of your lost ship. Unlike other survival games this one is packed with personality and is sure to keep you both intrigued and entertained the whole way through.

13. The Persistence (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5)

Get this if you’re not into space humour: you’re orbiting a black hole, your crew has died, you’re a clone of your dead self, and your dead crew are now zombies trying to kill you. A cool set piece for sure, The Persistence knows how to set the scene.

The dreary atmosphere of the spaceship immerses you well as you sneak around trying to jumpstart the ship's engine. There’s a great sense of progress as you begin with limited resources and rack them up so that more of your clones can survive; it’s a pretty fresh take on the survival/horror/sci-fi genre.

12. Vigor (Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5)

A game that really makes you think about the scarcity of resources and picking your battles wisely. Vigor is an online survival shooter set in post-apocalyptic Norway where you are tasked with upgrading an abandoned shelter in order to survive the harsh environment.

You’re thrusted into a world where other online players scavenge for resources and you’re pretty much having to kill each other to do so. Wow, that’s not stressful at all. And be careful, if another player kills you, you lose everything you’ve collected to that point. It’s a real fight for survival when it ain’t AI against you, but players that match or even surpass your skill. Good luck.

11. Dead By Daylight (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5)

If you and your friends ever liked tag in grade school and slasher films in high school, oh boy, is this game for you guys. Dead by Daylight is a 4vs1 multiplayer, horror-survival game where four players play as victims and one as the savage killer trying to hunt them down.

Here’s another online game utilized brilliantly, this time with a take on the old slasher genre. It’s about time games brought the thrill of an old Jason movie to the gaming platform and put players in the shoes of both victim and perpetrator. This is an innovative idea that paid off pretty well and gets your heart pumping harder than movie theatres ever could.

10. No Man’s Sky (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5)

While not always the favorite talk of the town, No Man’s Sky is still going strong so they must be doing something right. The initial innovation is not lost on players, where story is thin but having to survive an infinite, procedurally generated galaxies still has fans gripped.

Even 6 years later, No Man’s Sky still offers tons of cool rewards, upgrades and exhibitions. Maybe it’s not for everyone, but no online game has been able to provide fans with the sense of wonder and surprise you get from discovering literal new worlds. This is the closest you’ll get to the scary, survival mode Matthew McCounaughey felt in Interstellar, except it’s a bit more fun than what he had to go through. Thank God.

9. Among Us (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5)

Not all survival games need to be dire and bleak. Among Us is quite quirky and cute in its game design and an absolute blast when you start to get the hang of it. You play with other online crewmates trying to complete tasks on a spaceship while an “Imposter” tries to kill you in secret.

This game surprisingly knows how to build tension and suspense in the simple action of performing a task that takes the form of a fun minigame. Similar to Dead by Daylight the Imposter is also an online player that is forced to lie to the crew and the rest of you need to develop some serious sleuthing skills to prevent them from taking you out. Not sure if deceiving your friends should be as fun as it is, but hey, that reward of teamwork is here too.

8. Returnal (PS5)

If Alien met Groundhog Day, you’ve got Returnal. You play as an astronaut who crash lands on a planet that is, of course, infested with all sorts of wild aliens ready to destroy you and now it is up to you to survive and find your way out.

This is a great blend of horror/survival with classic Action/RPG where combat is fast and fun but leaves you at the edge of your seat, making sure you get it right before being “returned” to the beginning of the game. There’s plenty of good backstory and collectibles to find as you trek through this strange world all by your lonesome. Godspeed.

7. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction (PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, PS5)

Man, did the aliens really have to bring a parasite with them?! You and up to three friends have to fly out to the infected zones where an alien parasite has broken out across the world.

These zones are beautifully disgusting as you duck and weave through collapsing streets and gooey, overgrown, parasitic monsters. The game definitely knows how to challenge players who are accustomed to these outbreak type scenarios, a game that really makes you earn your title of “survivor”.

6. Tribes of Midgard (PS4, PC, PS5)

Not many games combine survival with mythology, who knew they’d go together so well. You and your team are tasked with protecting the Seed of Yggdrasil from night invasions by Giants, hell-bent on destroying it.

You are a true Midgardian, having to venture beyond thy settlement to collect resources, thwart demons and upgrade thy town from the inevitable attacks by the Johtenar. Much like Dying Light, it’s best if you do your best work in the day, because nighttime is when things get real dicey, and you’ll have to put your all into taking down the minions of Hel that are relentless in their pursuit to take you down. You got this.

5. Subnautica (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5)

There’s nothing like a deep, black ocean and the prospect of losing your breath that will raise your anxiety levels to unprecedented heights. You are stranded on an alien planet, forced to dive through the planet’s ocean to establish some kind of habitable order lest you drown on an alien planet.

This is where beauty and horror commingle in one intoxicating experience. You’ll be forced to take on sea creatures, big and small, and craft resources to make sure you’re always prepared for the next fight. This is not a passive game, remember to keep your eyes and ears open at all times else you’ll end up in a place much worse than a whale’s belly.

4. A Plague Tale: Innocence (PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5)

In this intimate, story driven experience, you play as a sister trying to survive and protect your younger brother from a plague in Victorian times. This game hits home as you are no warrior or master hunter, but a young girl with minimal weapons, training and a one hit kill.

You, of course, are forced to become a fighter to protect your young brother and the game fills you with enough heart that you’ll actually feel compelled to do so. If you like Victorian aesthetic, you’ll definitely feel immersed in this wrenching tale of survival and war.

3. Subnautica: Below Zero (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5)

Yup, they did it again, and this time with a graphical upgrade. Now you play as a scientist who returns to the same planet from the original game in search of the research team that has gone missing.

This adventure is a lot more personal and emotional than the previous, as you are still expected to dive deep into the alien ocean and scrounge for resources to survive and build bases. The game is as beautiful as ever and there is much more at stake here as you uncover a dastardly plot that put you there to begin with. While the story is engaging, this is still a survival game where you are expected to use resources wisely. Don’t get lazy.

2. Horizon Forbidden West (PS4, PS5)

If this isn’t the ultimate survival story, God only knows what is. Turns out, the big, sprawling plot that was Horizon Zero Dawn was just the beginning of Aloy’s adventure. She must now venture to the Forbidden West in search for answers lest the land crumble and humanity is forever lost.

To say this game is breathtakingly gorgeous would be an understatement. Forbidden West improves on the first game in so many ways and if you thought the lore in the first game was dense, wait till you get a load of what’s in store for this new, epic chapter. Nothing like having to survive primitive tribes, Mother Nature, and the technological beasts that trample her lands. Is nothing safe anymore?

The story may be controversial among the fanbase, but there’s no denying that The Last of Us Part II is one hell of an immersive and horrific experience. You play as Ellie on a vengeful hunt across the dilapidated streets of Seattle still trying to survive an incurable plague.

This game definitely keeps you on your toes as you weave through broken walls and floors where the infected are sure to be lurking. You’re never safe, and you have to make sure you’re well stocked and perfecting your aim lest you join the infected, or end up somebody's dinner. That revenge better taste sweet after this bitter road trip.

AmongUs Drops Their Biggest Update Yet - New Roles and Cosmicubes

AmongUs has released their biggest update yet, bringing brand new roles and a cosmetic system called Cosmicubes.

AmongUs v2021.11.9 dropped on 9 November 2021 on all platforms. The update brings new roles, adjustable roles, a progression system, and brand-new cosmetics to the game.

4 new roles have been added, specifically the Scientist, Engineer, and Guardian Angel for crewmates, and the Shapeshifter for the imposters. Scientists have the ability to access player vitals at any time, while the Engineer can use the vents in the ship to move around.

The Guardian Angel can set up a protective shield around the crewmates. The Shapeshifter Imposter has the ability to morph into any of the other crewmates at any given time, making him the ultimate deceiver.

Cosmicubes is a new cosmetic system that benefits both the players and the developers of AmongUs. It benefits players by giving them new cosmetics, a progression system that spits out rewards, and provides the option for AmongUs to collab with other games.

On the developer side, Cosmicubes makes the game more fun and entertaining for players, driving their desire to play the game more and helping pay for server costs, etc.

Players can earn exclusive cosmetics through Cosmicubes, which grants brand-new free and paid customization options.

Players can gather a variety of resources to help earn rewards, including cosmicubes, beans, stars, pods, and XP.

Among Us is Coming To Console and Xbox Game Pass!

Among Us has just announced that Among Us is finally coming to console and to Xbox Game Pass for console.

On 14 December 2021, Among Us will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass for Console, Playstation 4, and Playstation 5. Crossplay is also coming to console for $4.99.

Physical editions of the game will also be rolling out in staggered waves over the next few months. The Crewmate edition of Among Us will be hitting the shelves of stores in Europe and the United Kingdom on 14 December 2021, the same date as the console release.

The Crewmate edition will come to the United States, Canada, and Latin America on 11 June 2022. It will release in Japan and South Korea on 16 December 2021. The Imposter edition and Ejected edition will be released in the Spring of 2022.

Everyone loves Minecraft, all ages, and all genres. If you haven’t played it yet, Minecraft puts you in a huge world, where you mine and build stuff. You also beat up bad guys and fight all kinds of creatures if you choose survival mode.

If not, you can stay in your happy world, building whatever you want. Creative mode has unlimited of everything, building materials, etc, and survival mode you must mine for it. It can be played on android as well as PC.

It was developed and published by Mojang, and released on Windows, OS X, iOS, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on 13 October 2015.

09. Call Of Duty: Mobile (Android / iOS / PC)

Call Of Duty: Mobile is a very popular game among gamers. It was formally known as Call Of Duty: Legends of war, and it’s a first-person shooter game. Players can choose to play ranked or non-ranked with customizable characters and excellent weaponry.

The player goes on a mission and wipes out bad guys! The game was developed by Treyarch and published by an unknown publisher. Call Of Duty: Mobile was first released on 9 November 2010 and has generated over 40 million players.

Pokemon is another great game that a lot of players love. It only came out on mobile in 2016, but it’s one of the best mobile games. In the game, you travel around the world, catch Pokemon and win battles.

It also has little side missions in the game you complete, and collect gyms. It was developed and published by Niantic and Nintendo in 2016.

07. Stardew Valley (Android / PC / PS4 / Linux / Xbox One / Nintendo Switch / PS Vita)

Stardew Valley is a farming simulator RPG game and the player takes the role of a character who takes over his grandfather’s old farm. They also interact with townspeople and similarly to Minecraft manages the whole farm.

06. Sky: Children Of Light (Android / iOS/ PC)

This is an adventure game released in 2020. It features seven worlds that the player can explore, character customizations, excellent graphics, and a lot of fun. Players take you by the hand and lead you to wherever they want you to go, this is how they grab your attention.

It’s a very different game to play (In a good way) and was developed and published by Thatgamecompany for android on 7 April 2020.

05. Among Us (Android / iOS)

Among us was a great quarantine pastime, and as you fix your spaceship along with your fellow astronauts, doing tasks and going on, one of them can be the imposter that kills your little ‘Astro man’.

Unless of course, it’s you that’s the imposter, then it works vice versa. Whatever you do, don’t trust anyone! This beautiful game was developed and published by Innesloth in November 2018.

04. Hitman GO (Android)

Hitman Go is a turn-based puzzle game, it’s easy to play, but difficult to master. It’s set in the interpretation of the Hitman universe with excellent graphics. It was developed and published by Square Enix for android in June 2014.

Innocent or Guilty? It doesn't matter when you're Among Us

There are many excuses you can find trying to clear yourself as innocent during a classic game of Among Us, but is that reason good enough? Today we’ll be exploring the different alibis you could use to try and get out of sticky situations.

10. Jester move

Recently, Among Us Town of Us Mod released a bunch of other roles to be played other than crewmates and impostors, and one of them is the Jester. In this gameplay, Sykkuno did what he does best, make himself seem suspicious without even trying, and he wins the game as he was the Jester. Being suspicious on demand is rather difficult, almost try-hard if you ask me, but clearly, Sykkuno knows the game well.

What’s great about Jester move:

Being suspicious with no hesitation and without having to worry.
Make others second guess their voting you out as you could win the game.

9. Vent 101

Just like the title of this video, the vent system can be your alibi. How exactly? By venting in front of a few people and blaming it on someone else that was nearby. Toast vented by accident in front of other players and used that excuse to pin it on another crewmate who was eventually voted off, but in the end, the impostors won.

What's great about Vent 101:

Extremely risky to pull off but rewarding if you do.
Easily get a crewmate off and garner support.

8. False information

CHAOTIC 3600 IQ impostor duo, Sykkuno and Toast

Both Disguised Toast and Sykkuno were spewing false information for the whole period of the rounds they played together with the other streamers. Surprisingly, these other streamers fell for it and the impostors won. For instance, claiming to be somewhere when one was on the opposite end of the map. What is great about false information:

Increases tension and accusation of other crewmates towards each other.
Helps you clear yourself as innocent for the other rounds.

7. The Truth

How I Admitted I Was An Imposter And STILL Won Against The BEST Among Us Players...666 IQ Plays

It goes against our code as impostors to tell the truth but is it really bad to break it sometimes? I mean we do kill off crewmates. Yes, sometimes, telling the truth about who you really are in the game could actually be the best alibi, because maybe not many or no one will believe you. They might all think you’re just joking. However, you can only use this strategy at most once. In this video, Corpse Husband casually states that he was the impostor and yet, he still won.

What’s so good about The Truth:

Very risky but might help you win easily.
Earns a lot of the crewmates’ trust.

6. Stealing alibis

In this video, Disguised Toast provides a compilation of a few games where he is both the impostor and crewmate, in different rounds of course. The most notable thing to take into account is his ability to steal others’ alibis and make them his own. For example, he kills in front of another crewmate, but when it comes down to it, he as the impostor wins as the other remaining players vote the crewmate off. This is just one of the many alibis to get out of sticky situations there.

What is great about stealing alibis:

You fool almost everyone.
The chances of you winning is much higher.
Looks innocent.

5. Reverse Marination Strategy

We’ve heard about Marination, but what about Reverse Marination? This makes for a good alibi for yourself, usually when you play as a crewmate, but also when you already have the inkling who the impostor is. You vouch for the impostor and convince the whole group that the impostor is actually a crewmate. This could actually work in your favor as a crewmate as you might have more time to finish your tasks and wouldn’t be targeted if you were to vouch for the impostor, as they would want to keep you alive. You are their asset after all. Toast shows us how it’s done by executing this strategy well.

What’s so good about Reverse Marination:

You might be able to stay alive longer and finish your tasks.
You (hopefully) wouldn’t be targeted by the impostor.

4. Self-reporting

Absolutely risky, but totally worth it. Self-reporting is not uncommon, but it's the way a player does it that would get them in trouble or to vote an innocent crewmate off. In this gameplay, we see how far self-reporting can take an impostor. In this game, A few other streamers and Toast use the self-report technique to get out of trouble.

What’s so great about self-reporting:

When timed correctly, makes for a concrete alibi, especially if no one was around.

3. Scapegoat technique

Being the impostor and using the most vulnerable player as the scapegoat can actually be one of the best alibis available. Especially if the player already has growing suspicions on them. In this game, Toast uses multiple crewmates as scapegoats to win the game as an impostor.

What’s so great about the Scapegoat technique:

You leverage on the already growing suspicions of another player which makes them even more vulnerable.

2. Lights

When the lights are off, that’s the best time to kill in the game. In this gameplay, we see CorpseHusband really utilize this feature to the maximum. At one point in the game, Corpse turned off the lights, vented to a room with 4 to 5 players, killed one, and vented away. Now, how amazing is that!?

What’s so great about Lights:

Silent kills that nobody would know until they fix lights.
The perfect alibi that confuses players.

1. Marination

He trusted me until the end

Okay, we know that gaslighting in real life is bad. Period. However, for the sake of the game, compromises can be made. Sykkuno does it again, with his almost clueless answers and statements during discussions, he sets up Lud for the very last kill and had Lud trusting him and vouching for him the entire time.

What’s great about Marination:

Having a backup and at least one other player vouching and clearing you.
Places the spotlight on another player.

As gamers, we tend to watch a lot of gameplays by influential gamers, usually on youtube. Those are some of our inspirations for different strategies while gaming. This piece will focus on what I think are some of the best Among Us gameplays!

10. “Among us - Full Impostor gameplay - No commentary” by Hornster

One of the few things that I enjoy in an Among Us gameplay is no talking, just a personal preference. Which is exactly why I enjoy this impostor gameplay so much! No commentary of any sort, nothing. Just gaming like any other person. This gameplay appeals to me as it shows the different types of impostors there are in games. Some impostors are very suspicious and right from the start, one can tell that the player is an impostor. However, some impostors act the same way as other crewmates, with no red lights at all. This is exactly what Hornster does. Another interesting strategy is, Hornster doesn’t sabotage so much. Too much sabotage can be annoying, as too many players are crowded in an area, making it too difficult to find the impostor (whically another strategy). Hornster plays the perfect solo imposter in solo games and I highly recommend this gameplay for those of you just starting out as impostors. This gameplay is 11 minutes long, so it wouldn’t take out much of your time, and it’s worth it.

For this gameplay, there is no commentary or video calling of any sort. However, we get to see Pastor (rex0998) gaining almost all crewmates’ trust that sets up for a flawless impostor win. The places that Pastor kills are very strategic and discussion time is when Pastor plays innocent and does it extremely well too. Throughout the game, there were very few close calls, but those also proved to be strategic. Pastor really shows us players that being consistently inconsistent as the impostor is key to winning the game, as it confuses the other players. Just when the other players think they have Pastor all figured out, another trick from the hat is pulled out. I really recommend watching this gameplay for ideas on strategic impostor gameplay when you’re solo playing. This gameplay is rather short, about 9 minutes, so you would spend less time watching, and more time in action.

8. “Playing Among Us For The First Time!!” by James Charles

Hey sisters! You heard that right, it’s James Charles back at it again, but this time with a twist! Instead of makeup, this beauty guru tried his hand at Among Us. He played it by himself in public streams at first, and then shortly after with famous streamers, and it’s a newbie meets pro-gamer gameplay. James never fails to amuse us with his witty remarks and comments. Watching James being absolutely clueless about the game and being so excited about becoming the impostor is just undeniably the funniest thing I saw during this video. The multiple edited rounds of the game amount to about 14 minutes so it’s really not that long. This doesn’t exactly showcase gameplay, but more of what newcomers to Among Us experience for the first few times of playing.

This game is played among Disguised Toast and 8 other friends by voice chat through Discord and video call. This gameplay is one of the best for strategy whilst playing among friends. After watching this gameplay, I already have a few ideas as to try for myself when I become the impostor. Disguised Toast (goes by Toast in the game) and Hafu are both the impostors, and they are so inconspicuous that they blend so well with the other crewmates. When players are killed, they are probably muted and those who are alive can continue to talk while they play, while others are there to just continue watching or finishing up their tasks. This gameplay really exudes the fact that even whilst playing among friends, you can’t trust anyone. Also, this gameplay is moderately long, about 19 minutes or so.

6. “My BEST Impostor game in Among Us EVER” by Valkyrae

This is easily one of my favorite impostor gameplays as it’s just so fun and cute! The editing and bloopers are hilarious and really takes off the edge of seriousness that all gamers seem to have. Even though this gameplay is intense, one actually doesn’t feel the need to purchase a rage button. So, this gameplay is between Valkyrae and a few friends, and they play 2 rounds in the video. All of the players are very suspicious if I were to say myself, as their actions and words don’t add up, most of the time. Either way, this gameplay is far more relaxed than the rest, and that’s a good thing. One cannot be too tense all the time! Both gameplays amounted to about 15 minutes, with all the edits, so I would highly recommend watching just for fun.

5. “Try Guys & Friends Play Among Us” by The Try Guys

This is hands down the funniest gameplay that I have seen yet! The Try Guys and friends played 3 rounds of Among Us and it made me cackle in laughter as some don’t even know what they’re doing! This isn’t a serious gameplay, but rather a very relaxed gameplay to take the tension off this game and make it fun, especially when played with friends. The 10 of them were video calling whilst playing, and they had to mute themselves during the game, and only unmute during emergency meetings for discussion and voting. The edits we’re very cute and hilarious. The video is also just moderate in length, about 15 minutes or so. In a nutshell, this gameplay among friends was just a joy to watch!

Hafu’s so good at being the impostor that she has those she killed in previous games believe that she’s a crewmate! In this video, Hafu plays with her friends and they communicate via discord voice chat for discussions. This gameplay is great to watch for experienced players as the way they coordinate their discussions are very informative and serious, and they will ‘sus’ anything and everything out of the ordinary! The whole gameplay is around 11 minutes and quite intense.

3. “The haunted storage! My greatest impostor play yet” by Sykkuno

I don’t know how else to describe this gameplay, but it’s just so darn intense(and fun to watch)! Sykkuno claiming to be a bad impostor is extremely false, as he keeps everyone guessing, and literally no one thinks it’s him the entire time! I think Sykkuno is one of the best impostors that I’ve seen. If you’re looking for an intense but exciting Among Us gameplay, this is it! The amount of accusations in this game is insane and very entertaining. This is easily what a round of Among Us with experienced gamers looks and feels like. This intense gameplay is easily about 12 minutes long.

2. “Bretman Just being Bretman and gets an Imposter win” by PokiRaeTV

If this isn’t my favorite Among Us gameplay, I don’t know what is. I just have to say that I love me some Bretman Rock! As usual, the players all mute their mics while playing, only unmute when they’re in a discussion. Watching him play Among Us is immediate serotonin, and he’s so smooth as an imposter, using his quirkiness and sass to get out of tight situations, such as the time where they all were going to vote him out, but he ended up not getting ejected. In this game, he is joined by famous streamers such as Valkyrae and Sykkuno. This may not have been the most epic or legendary gameplay, but it was definitely very amusing.

This holds the number one spot for one reason, and one reason only; It’s the best among us game that I have ever seen. I refuse to give you any spoilers, but this was an epic win for the impostors! The clue is, nobody needed to say anything. This is the best example of pro-gamer gameplay any Among Us gamer could ever wish for. The intensity, the littering bodies, and the best part about it all was the roaring silence. The video also showcases the scenarios with adorable animations of the characters after each game, so definitely a big thumbs up there. The gameplay is about 16 minutes long and it's worthwatching the whole thing, hands down.

[Top 15] Among Us Best Settings That Give You an Advantage

If you’re looking for an easy-to-read guide, then you’ve come to the right place! Today, we’ll be talking about the best settings that will not only make the game even more fun to play but settings that you can easily configure as a host that will give you an advantage, both as a crewmate or an impostor. Most of us tend to just play with the recommended settings, but after rounds and rounds of playing, why not switch a few things around and see what happens? Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back, right? So, without further ado, let’s dive right in!

15. Emergency Meetings

We’ve all encountered emergency meetings that were either too short to say anything, or too long until nobody knows what to say, or players just spamming the emergency meeting button to announce their oh-so-great arrival at the game.

To avoid all of that, you as a host can change these settings with a few simple steps:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”.
Set “# Emergency Meetings” to 2 at most.

The reason being, crewmates automatically call an emergency meeting when they report bodies. To avoid spams from happening, I recommend limiting emergency meetings to only 2, however, this is only a personal preference.

14. Discussion and Voting Time

Discussion and Voting Time are part and parcel of an emergency meeting. This is the only time other players that are alive can communicate via text (because ghosts can text freely). As a host, you need to make sure that there is a time limit suitable for the group that you’re playing with.

These are the steps:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”.
Set “Discussion Time” to 30 seconds and “Voting Time” to 60 seconds for a group of 5-6 players.
Or, for an alternate setting, set “Discussion Time” to 15 seconds and “Voting Time” to 90 seconds for a group of 5-6 players.
Or, set “Discussion Time” to 45 seconds and “Voting Time” to 80 seconds for a group of 9-10 players.

There is no hard and fast rule as to these time limits, as they are all from personal experience and preference. If you’re playing with voice chat, you can decrease both discussion and voting times.

13. Kill Distance

Many times when we’re playing as crewmates, the impostor seems to be able to kill so easily, but from such a far distance away. To prevent impostors from getting easy kills by lunging halfway across the room towards you, you should reduce the Kill Distance of impostors.

You can do this by:

Opening up the settings interfaces under “Customize” and then clicking/tapping on “Game”.
Setting “Kill Distance” to “Short” .

With a short Kill Distance, you might actually stand a chance being chased by the impostor to the emergency meeting button. It sets for a more fun and fair gaming environment for both crewmates and impostors.

12. Kill Cooldown

As an impostor playing the game, it’s fun to kill crewmates fast, but on the other hand of the spectrum, it ends up becoming an impostor-sided game as crewmates don’t have the chance to finish even half of their tasks before getting killed.

Therefore, to maintain a balanced gameplay:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”.
Set “Kill Cooldown” between 25-30 seconds.

This would give crewmates a little more time to run off and maintain a balanced gameplay.

11. Emergency Cooldown

As a rule of thumb, most players agree that the emergency cooldown should be shorter than the kill cooldown. Crewmates would be able to call for an emergency meeting quicker before the impostor tries to kill again.

To perform this:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”.
Set “Emergency Cooldown” between 15-20 seconds.

10. The Need for Speed

I’ve encountered countless amounts of games where the speed is either sluggishly slow or freakishly fast. As a host, you get to choose what speed you would like to have in the game. I recommend the ‘medium’ speed for fair gameplay.

Here’s how to do it:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”.
Set “Player Speed” to 1.25x

This setting prevents players from running too fast or too slow, and you actually get to see where you’re running to, which is vital especially if you’re chasing a player or being chased by one.

9. Crewmate Vision

Usually, crewmate vision is less than impostor vision, which only makes sense. There are a few tweaks that you can make to crewmate vision to really make them feel extra cautious and wary especially when the “Fix Lights” crisis occurs.

As a host, you can configure this by:

Opening up the settings interface under “Customize” and then clicking/tapping on “Game”
Setting “Crewmate Vision” between 0.75x-1.25x

Be sure to check that crewmate vision is not the entire opposite of impostor vision, as crewmate vision is equally important.

8. Impostor Vision

As impostors, you’re granted more vision than crewmates. In order to still keep this fair game, hosts should grant impostors vision that is just slightly higher than their fellow crewmates.

To do this, simply:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”
Set “Impostor Vision” between 1.5x-1.75x

7. Task Types

There is no hard and fast rule as to what is the correct amount of common, long and short tasks. However, as hosts, you should always make it a balanced amount of tasks by taking into account the three types of tasks available.

To acquire it, just:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”
For the average game, set “Common Tasks” to 1, and both “Long Tasks” and “Short Tasks” to 2 each.
For a more challenging game, set “Common Tasks” to 1, and both “Long Tasks” and “Short Tasks” to 3 each.
For a very challenging game, set “Common Tasks” to 1, and both “Long Tasks” and “Short Tasks” to 5 each.

The more tasks there are, the harder it gets for crewmates to fill up the taskbar and win the game, literally a race against time, and the impostor of course.

6. Animation-based tasks

Visual tasks are one of the ways crewmates get to figure out who are innocent and vice versa. Most players tend to keep these tasks as their very last to prove their innocence to the other players. Some of these tasks are the body scan in Medbay, firing asteroids in the Weapon’s room, and the garbage dump task. However, to make the game even more challenging, you as the host can turn off these visual tasks, and now nobody’s gonna know if a player is executing or faking a task.

Here’s how to configure this:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”
Scroll down and check/uncheck the box that states “Visual Tasks”.

Personally I recommend playing the game with visual tasks because without it, the impostors are gaining too much leeway in the game and might win faster.

5. Joystick and Touch Mode

This is purely based on personal preference and wouldn’t affect your gameplay at all. I recommend using the joystick mode if you’re used to gaming consoles and prefer being ‘compact’. However, touch mode is if you want to easily perform tasks in the game. I use the joystick mode as I play Among Us on mobile, and I find it easier to move around. This setting can be changed at any point throughout the game so it is actually possible to use both modes at different times for different situations.

To change modes:

Open up the settings icon on the top right
Tap/click on either “Joystick” or “Touch”

4. Confirm Ejects

Being ejected means either becoming a ghost or winning/losing the game depending on your status as a player. However, everytime a player is ejected, the rest of the other players would be able to know if the ejected player was an impostor or not. As a host, you can choose to turn confirm ejects either on or off. When it’s turned off, the statement on the screen once a player is ejected will simply say, “(username) was ejected.”

To configure this setting:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”
Scroll down to “Confirm Ejects” and either check/uncheck the box.

By turning this off, nobody would know whether the ejected player was an impostor or an innocent crewmate. A great way to keep everybody on their toes!

3. Taskbar Updates

The green taskbar on the upper left corner of the screen in the game shows you the progress being made by others with their tasks. However, this is only the case where the host sets taskbar updates as “always”. If the host chooses to set it as “meetings”, players would only be able to see the taskbar during emergency meetings, and if it’s set to “never”, then players would never know at all. Usually, the recommended setting would be to always have it updating at all times, but just for the extra zest and spice, why not switch things up?

Hosts can configure this setting by

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”
Scroll down to “Taskbar Updates” and choose either “Always”, “Meetings”, or “Never”.

2. Number of Impostors

Choosing the number of impostors really affects the whole gameplay. The more impostors there are, the higher the chances for crewmates to lose. It is recommended to have 1 impostor for 5-6 players, and 2 impostors for 9-10 players. Do note that these are all based on the host’s preference.

To determine the number of impostors:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”
Go to “# Impostors” and select either 1, 2, or 3.

1. Anonymous votes

I placed this as the number one setting for hosts to configure as I feel that this is the most exciting setting you can tinker with. Without aonymous votes, players would be able to see who voted for each other and who skipped voting. This however, already puts certain players in the spotlight and could be targeted by the impostor or other players in the next meeting. When anonymous voting is turned on, the screen will only show the black-colored among us icons as representatives for players who voted or skipped voting. This exudes mystery as nobody will know who you voted for.

To configure this:

Open up the settings interface under “Customize” and then click/tap on “Game”
Scroll to “Anonymous Votes” and check/uncheck the box.

Who hasn’t tried playing the infamous game of Among Us? If you haven’t, that’s a little sus (get the reference?). It’s immensely popular and we can all agree that we have tried our hand at it some time or another. This is a comprehensive guide for all our Among Us newbies out there, but seasoned players are also welcome to explore. This guide will tell you whatever it is you need to know about Among Us, whether it’s being a better crewmate or a badass impostor, so buckle up and be sure to keep reading on!

25. General Information

Among Us is known for testing one’s abilities on stealth and time management, but what exactly is the game all about? Among Us is a strategy game launched by American game studio, Innersloth, in 2018. It is a game that focuses on teamwork and betrayal. The game may include a maximum of 10 players and a minimum of 4 players at any given time, and there may be 1-3 impostors. Most experienced players recommend having 1 impostor for 4-6 players, 2 impostors for 7-8 players, and 3 impostors for 10 players. However, it’s all up to the host to configure these settings, and there is no hard and fast rule to this game, which is why it appeals to so many! The Impostor is a parasitic shapeshifter whose main goal is to sabotage and kill everybody on board the spaceship that has set its course for home. The crewmates are supposed to finish their given tasks as soon as possible while trying to sniff out the impostor and trying not to get killed, all at once. Sounds fun? Let’s dive right in!

24. Crewmate Basics

Crewmates are players in the game whose main goal is to finish all the required tasks to win the game. Easier said than done, as impostors may be lurking around the corner waiting for the perfect chance to give you a deadly surprise. The secondary goal is to try and find the impostor and vote them off. If all the impostors are successfully voted off, the crewmates win! If all crewmates complete their tasks without too many being killed by the impostor(s) or anyone being killed at all, the crewmates win!

23. Impostor Basics

Impostors are alien shapeshifters whose goal is to kill off all crewmates as well as sabotage their tasks by tinkering with the lights, oxygen, reactor, and doors in the spaceship. They are roles given at random to any player and impostors have to blend in with the crewmates to be among them. Impostors are given a fake task list as a general guideline to blend in with the crowd of other crewmates, trying their best to not be ‘sus’ in any way possible. Seasoned players however know their way around the game and can sniff out impostors from miles away. If crewmates have been killed, ejected, or left the game until they no longer have the voting majority, impostors win.

22. Memorizing Maps

In Among Us, there are a total of 4 maps that players can choose to play in, starting with the main three which are The Skeld, MIRA HQ, and Polus, and the newest addition which happens to be the biggest map yet, The Airship. Understanding each of the four maps is vital to the gameplay as it would aid players who are both crewmates and impostors to move around with ease. I would personally recommend small maps such as The Skeld and Polus for those just beginning to get the gist of Among Us because jumping right into big maps like The Airship would be a huge gamble as new players would encounter seasoned players who can be rather sneaky. When one is familiar with a map, then move on to try the next one! There is never a dull moment exploring the maps, but some might call you ‘sus’ for doing that too often, so be wary!

So, here’s the scenario: you want to eliminate someone but don’t have much of an alibi as you weren’t there to see this person kill, but if you check the Admin map and notice an Among Us icon shifting from place to place quickly, you have your alibi! Frequenting the Admin Map just so happens to be one of the best tips you can utilize in the game. You get to see where players are at any given time. Pro tip: Impostors can utilize this to their advantage to sneak up on an un‘sus’pecting crewmate that’s all alone by venting towards them, killing them, venting back, and whistling away ~

20. Memorizing venting layout

Any master impostor knows their way around each venting system for any given map. These are seasoned impostors that can execute their skills and vent off so quickly that nobody’s gonna know, cause how would they know? (stan Twitter reference). Impostors can only vent to places that have vents and they must be nearby. It is impossible to vent throughout the map without manually moving to a different vent to start venting to different places. This is when it becomes a game of memory and skill, as sometimes, some vents are situated near the cameras, and if one is at the right place at the wrong time, it's game over!

19. Keeping an eye on the taskbar

Most players tend to not pay attention to this at first glance, but it’s a great way to analyze if someone is verified as an innocent crewmate or a skilled impostor. When a crewmate finishes their task, the taskbar fills up a little. When tasks are done collectively, the taskbar fills up more quickly. The trick here is to stand by someone who is doing a task and watching the taskbar increase a little once they are done. However, if the player does a task and the taskbar doesn’t increase, that’s very ‘sus’.

18. Utilizing the Security System

Did you know that whenever you pass a security camera in-game and it's blinking with a red light, you’re being watched by someone? That’s right! You finally understand the reason why you get voted out so fast as the impostor when you killed a player nearby a blinking camera. When you’re about to kill or vent, be sure to check if any security cameras nearby you are blinking or not, so you won’t be giving anybody any reason to sniff you out.

17. Kill Cooldown (CD)

You’re the lucky impostor on their lucky streak, painting the town red (literally) killing off crewmates. Nevertheless, you always have to wait (not so patiently) for your Kill CD all the time. You should note a vital piece of information though: Your Kill CD automatically stops when you’re in a vent! To be fair, the game requires impostors to do more than just kill crewmates, impostors have to blend in with others, perform fake tasks, and execute sabotages from time to time. Therefore, you shouldn’t just be hiding in vents! Also, by just hiding in vents, seasoned players would be able to figure you out in no time, so no escape there!

16. Finish your Tasks!

As a new player, you tend to take your time going around exploring the map (I know that’s what I mentioned earlier) BUT here’s the dilemma; the longer you take to finish your tasks, the higher your chances of getting killed and for impostors to win the game. This is why right from the very start, you will notice many seasoned players rushing off to complete their tasks as soon as they can, either in groups or individually. The reason being, the faster they finish their tasks, the faster they fill up the green bar, the faster they win, and the faster they get to move on to the next game! Impostors are supposed to distract crewmates from finishing their tasks by continuously distracting them through the art of sabotage.

15. Exploring alone and as a group

Simply said, if you’re playing with a small group of friends against strangers, then it’s best to go as a group. If you’re playing alone, then it’s best to either go alone or stick around a few players at any given time, so they can vouch for you and vice versa. Going alone has its perks, but so does going as a group. When you explore alone, you get to finish your tasks efficiently and quickly fix sabotages by impostors, but it makes you undeniably vulnerable to being killed off very early in the game. If you explore as a group, you can all look out and vouch for each other, making sure everyone completes their tasks before moving to different places on the map. Impostors wouldn’t dare touch you as there is safety in numbers. It helps to think of it as a Wolves-hunting-Sheep concept, but you be the judge of that.

14. Emergency Meetings

If you’re like me, you’re probably also unsure as to know when to call emergency meetings. Emergency meetings can be called when you see a dead player’s body and click on “Report” or you can go to the meeting room and hit on the emergency meeting button. Emergency meetings have different scenarios according to their maps. When an emergency meeting is held in The Skeld and MIRA HQ, it is stationed in the Cafeteria. In Polus, it’s held in the Office, and on The Airship, emergency meetings are not held in any specific room; the player remains where they are and the discussion begins. This is probably because The Airship is such a large map. You should call Emergency Meetings when you’re confident of players being impostors and if you’re being chased. You may want to use this feature wisely as you only have a limited amount of times to use it.

13. What to say and When to say it during Emergency Meetings.

We’ve all had those moments when we’ve caught the killers in action and when we frantically accuse them in emergency meetings, we get ejected instead! This is because those who didn’t see the fellow impostor in action would see you as trying to frame them for you. So, how exactly do you avoid these pesky situations? Firstly, you shouldn’t continuously spam-accuse a player as that brings the spotlight on you immediately. Next, you should just agree with other players when they accuse a player, to show that you’re involved in the discussion. If you’re too silent, you also automatically invite others’ attention onto you. Sometimes, silence is the best answer, you still might want to tread carefully on that piece of information.

12. Killing within a group

Sounds insane? Totally! Hear me out on this though. Many impostors (if not all) kill their unsuspecting crewmates when they’re all alone. However, have you experienced the serotonin of killing a crewmate in front of everybody and having everybody accuse each other because they were all clumped together doing tasks? To execute this perfectly, you, as an impostor, need to stealthily blend in with the rest all clumped up together, and after a moment or two, kill somebody and watch the rest go haywire. Sure, you’ll be one of the accused (you were there after all) but so will the rest who was standing there. Now, you may want to give this a try!

11. Double Kill

This is an Among Us trick for the ages! It requires the game to have 2 impostors, and both impostors must have 0 Kill CD to execute this of course. So, the scenario is both impostors blend in with another 2 innocent crewmates trying to do their tasks. To the crewmates, it just looks like another 2 innocent crewmates coming over to join them because, ‘Safety in numbers’, right? The answer is the binary opposite of ‘right’ once both innocent crewmates get killed and the impostors flee. This is difficult to pull off, but with the right prerequisites and being in the right place at the right time, would make for the perfect double kill, increasing impostors’ chance of winning the game!

10. Cheesy Strategies

As beginners to Among Us, the reasons such as “I’m new” or “I was lagging” makes sense because you are legitimately new to the game. However, seasoned players have encountered these situations too many times and might get you voted off. So, make sure to only use “I was AFK” or “all tabbed out” when it does happen or when you don’t have a concrete alibi, but make sure you sound convincing!

9. Color-Coded Usernames

We’re down to single digits now! Therefore, I shall continue with this fun tip which so happens to be color-coded usernames. This is an extremely fun way to play Among Us, especially among a group of friends. Why? It’s a method of confusing and tricking other players. There are 12 colors that you can choose from to customize your Among Us character in-game. These are Red, Blue, Purple, Pink, Green, Orange, Yellow, Cyan, Lime, Brown, Black, and White. Usually, other players would refer to you by the color of your character rather than mentioning your username, as it’s probably too long or too complicated. By using color-coded usernames, players would think twice about phrasing their accusations as it could backfire. Here’s an example, a player with the username of ‘WHITE’ is actually blue and another player with the username of ‘GREEN’ is actually brown, and so on.

All players know the different types of crises that can happen, for example, Oxygen Depleted, Reactor Meltdown, etc. These crises can be averted by one player, while some require 2 players. However, some of these crises have a time limit so they need to be done fast. However, be careful to not be distracted by these crises as impostors would take advantage of crewmates being scattered about trying to fix these crises. The reactor task and O2 task require 2 players, while the electrical task requires only one player. It is important to note that during crises, emergency meetings cannot be held.

7. Using ‘sabotage’ to your advantage

Dear impostors, using your sabotages wisely can aid you in winning the game fast! Here’s how: by using the admin map and looking for unsuspecting crewmates, sabotaging doors, venting towards them, and you know the rest. My favorite sabotage is ‘Fix Lights’ as I get to see players running about in unfathomable fear towards me while I wait for the perfect kill time. ‘Comms Sabotaged’ is handy when you want to kill without being caught on camera. Pro tip: use sabotages while you walk about as other players will be quick to notice you stopping whenever sabotage happens, only then walking about again.

6. ‘Catch me if you can’ gameplay

This is an extremely fun gameplay style that you can utilize whilst playing Among Us with your group of friends. In this gameplay, usually, nobody gets killed (okay maybe a few), but the goal is to break off into smaller groups and stick with each other while running away from the suspected impostor(s). Sabotages happen as usual and tasks also need to be completed. This gameplay usually goes on for a long time, so if you have time to kill, why not give it a try?

5. Parallelism

Aligning oneself with another crewmate makes it look like there’s only one crewmate standing there, an illusion and trap to lure the unsuspecting impostor(s). When the impostor kills, the other crewmates standing in the same position would be revealed and the impostor would be caught red-handed! Nevertheless, this trick can backfire if the impostor checks the admin map and finds multiple crewmates in a room but only one seemingly standing in position.

4. Being task-pretentious

It takes skill and multiple games to know exactly how long a specific task is and to know who is faking a task and who isn’t. Easy ways to spot impostors faking tasks would be to stand around those doing tasks with animations. For instance, some animation-based tasks would be shooting asteroids in the weapon room where you should be able to see the firing animation on the right side of the screen, outside the spaceship. Another outright example would be the body scan animation in Medbay and garbage dumping by the garbage chute where the animation would be the garbage being thrown out into space. If you can see all of this happening, that player isn’t an impostor and instead of a verified crewmate. However, if you can’t see any of this happening, the player might just be an impostor! Seasoned players, however, know how long or short specific tasks are as well as how many crewmates should receive a certain task, and especially the tasks without animations, so you wouldn’t guess them as impostors for a million years. This isn’t an innate skill as it takes time and loads of experience in this game to execute this perfectly.

3. A few extra seconds

Here’s a quick tip to add to your advantage as a player no matter as a crewmate or an impostor, you can skip the loading animation (see attached picture) by tapping on it once, by then you would be taken straight into finding out whether you’re a crewmate or an impostor and enter the game faster than the rest. You then get a few extra seconds to run off while everyone else is still standing in the outline of a circle (for the maps of The Skeld, MIRA HQ, and Polus) or choosing where to start in The Airship.

No, I’m not referring to the inevitable fact that all of us experiencing life as of now will eventually pass on. I’m referring to life and death in Among Us! As crewmates, when you die by being killed or being ejected, you become a ghost but you can still help out your fellow crewmates by completing your unfinished tasks and possibly helping to turn the tide of the game. As a ghost, you’re free to pass through walls and you gain faster speed, as you’re floating. You can also text other in-game ghosts freely for discussion and fun. Nobody else can see you except other ghosts. As impostors, you can die by being ejected and only turn into a ghost in the case where there is more than 1 impostor in the game. As a ghost, you will be able to continue to sabotage the game, but most players advise against it as it might disrupt the living impostor’s strategy. If you do want to sabotage, sabotage strategically, in the way that it will aid the living impostor(s) and cause tensions among crewmates.

1. Consistently Inconsistent

This is my number one tip: to be consistently inconsistent in everything! Who doesn’t love a paradox? Sure, when you’re just starting in Among Us, seasoned players can be merciless and in two shakes of a duck’s tail, you’re voted out. Nevertheless, don’t give up! Achieving ‘God’ status at any game requires you to start at the very bottom, and with enough time, skill, and experience, you’ll climb your way up, killing people if you have to (in the game only) and be an “experienced player”. Seasoned players don’t necessarily have a guideline other than the usual “just have fun with it” phrase. The keywords here are to improvise, do mix-ups, and execute different strategies, so you continue to keep everybody guessing for unlimited rounds. Continue to be sneaky, stealthy, and “innocent”, and you’ll have more fun in this virtual world before you log back into reality.
