Everyone knows most of the wrestlers that are in 2K. Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, and Ricochet-these are the biggest stars in WWE, so of course they are in the game. In addition to the obvious, there are always a few added stars that make a pleasant appearance.

I love when I see a superstar on the roster that surprises me. A superstar that will help me relive my childhood, dominate WWE online mode, or tweak my universe just right.

These are the top 10 WWE 2K23 wrestlers that are awesome.

1. 2002 Hulk Hogan

Hogan has a larger than life personality. Fans love him. No matter what company he worked for, or what music he had, he is the best to ever lace up the boots.

Hogan is the reason WWE is so successful today. He turned himself into a star and helped others become great. His energy embodies wrestling, and nothing compares to Hogan hulking up.

Hogan had his time as the face of the company and his time as the heel of the company. When he joined the NWO, it shook the world and put WCW on the top of the food chain. It was like nothing we had ever seen. Everyone loved Hogan so much that it felt like they were betrayed.

There are three versions of Hogan in this game, but the most unique is the 2002 version. Hogan came back in 2002 to reclaim his good guy status. He was immensely over and gave new wrestling fans their first experience with Hulkamania.

Hogan came back at No Way Out as part of the NWO. He feuded with Rock and lost a match to him at WrestleMania 18. Their feud rekindled the Hogan fire of old and gave him an epic run.

Hogan defeated HHH for the undisputed title (although he lost it to Taker the next month). He won the tag titles with Edge. He tapped out to Kurt Angle (the only time in his career). It was a great, fun run that filled in for the absence of Rock and Austin. 2002 Hulk deserves his own version.

Why 2002 Hulk Hogan is awesome:

Have him face off against the ’03 Taker like he did at Judgement Day or Kurt Angle at King of the Ring. He also never got the chance to compete against Stone Cold, RVD, or Shawn Michaels.
He has his classic moves: the straight punch, the big boot, the elbow drop, and the leg drop.
He comes with all his classic taunts, and Hogan is the king of taunts. Play up to the crowd by flexing for them.
I was too young for the original Hogan, and did not watch WCW, so 2002 Hogan will forever be my Hogan.
Hogan came back later the next year as Mr. America (WWE, please add this character to your game).

2. The Hurricane

The Hurricane was way more over than he should have been. His amazing in-ring ability had something to do with it.

Stand back, there is a hurricane coming through. When you heard those words blasting, you knew fans were about to pop. Hurricane started his career in WCW as Gregory Helms where he won the hardcore and ccruiserweight championships.

After the WCW/ECW Invasion, Helms came to WWE as the Hurricane. He recruited many accomplices along the way. Molly Holly, Stacy Kiebler (Hurricane was a ladies’ man), and Rosey all joined Hurricane and became his sidekicks. He would deliver promos as Gregory Helms daily reporter. He would be over with fans ten-fold today.

Hurricane had a great persona and awesome in-ring talent. He was the first cruiserweight (maybe the only) to use the chokeslam as a finishing move. A move he unsuccessfully performed on Kane and Big Show. He was a classic high-flier. Always leaping off the top turnbuckle or over the top rope.

Why Hurricane is awesome:

One of his finishing moves is the vertebreaker. It is brutal and is currently banned in the WWE. The move is a reverse sit-down neckbreaker.
He teamed with Kane and won the tag tteam championship. They defended the titles in the only ever Smackdown Four-Way Tag Team Title TLC match. I suggest you go to Peacock and check it out.
He is still the longest-reigning Smackdown brand champion ever. I am not talking about pre-draft or titles represented on both brands, but he is the longest reigning Smackdown-specific champion ever.
He feuded with the entire cruiserweight division twice. Teddy Long did everything he could to get the belt from him.
You could also create Gregory Helms, or Reporter Helms CAW, for his alter ego. You could also create a Super Rosey CAW or turn Steve Austin into Super Steve to team with Hurricane.

3. JBL

Bradshaw was always a hard worker and showed up every night for the fans. I am happy he got his long title run.

JBL is the only version of Bradshaw in this game. That is crazy! Most people know him as Bradshaw! Part of the Acolytes Protection Agency (APA) with Farooq.

The APA was drinking beer, taking money, and kicking a** together for 5 years. They had a solid reign as tag champs. Their friendship turned into hatred after Farooq was fired and Bradshaw failed to stand up for him.

He returned as the JBL character and became a main event star. I loved his reign in the main event. He defeated Guerrero in a Texas bull rope match (something they should add to 2K) for his only title, but had a very successful title run. He defeated Undertaker, Booker T, Guerrero, and Angle.

He always found an odd way to win. JBL had a cage match with Big Show. In the match, Big Show chokeslammed JBL off of the top rope and through the ring. JBL then crawled under the ring and to the mat for the win.

Although you need to create a Bradshaw CAW, JBL is still a great addition.

Why JBL is awesome:

He has his classic move set and his patented Clothesline from Hell (JBL renamed his clothesline the Clothesline from Wall Street, but quickly changed it back).
He created the Cabinet faction during his title run, and it was fairly successful. You could recreate his stable for MyFaction mode; although, you may need to upgrade the roster. It was originally Orlando Jordan and the Bashams-not a great group.
JBL also had a solid run as the US champ and fits the standard for the American gold.
He also had a short reign where he wore a bull rope and cowboy hat. This happened right after he separated from Farooq. You can create this CAW and have him chase the hardcore gold.
He carried his own version of the Hardcore title with the state of Texas outlined on it. You can recreate his title and give him an epic run.

4. Logan Paul

It was said in a recent interview that Paul trains hard and wants to be good at wrestling. Everyone can see it is paying off.

I have not listened to Logan Paul’s podcast. I heard some of it, but it is not something I am going to listen to daily. I feel like Paul should stick to wrestling.

He is an athlete. He is a risk taker and a high-flier. He held his own against Roman Reigns in a title match. It was something no one ever thought possible. A celebrity holding the world title was just offensive until Paul (no offense to David Arquette).

He is a real heel. He loves the hate people give him. If I asked Logan Paul if he would rather be booed or cheered, he would pick booed. People love to boo him because he is a d***. He has real heat. Something that is hard for a WWE star to build.

Why Logan Paul is awesome:

He is the first celebrity that fans feel is worthy of a title. Logan holding the US Title or Intercontinental Title is something worth watching.
His first ever match was with The Miz at WrestleMania against Dominick and Rey. The Miz taught Paul the skull-crushing finale. It is one of Paul’s finishers in the game.
Paul’s hatred for Rey led Logan to incorporate some of Eddie’s moves. Paul performs the Three Amigos as well as the Frog Splash.
One of his signatures is jumping off the top turnbuckle through the announce table (one of my favorite things to do).

5. Andre the Giant

I never knew Andre was from France, but I guess that explains the accent.

There is something in giants’ DNA that makes people love them. Giants know they can crush us whenever they want, so they live life without fear. We are all little children to Big Show and Andre. They probably think we are cute.

Andre always lived life to the fullest. There are legendary stories of Andre drinking 100 beers in one sitting. For exercise, he would move his friends’ cars into annoying positions (as opposed to lifting weights).

He farted all over opponents in the ring and let out a 30 second fart in the middle of taping The Princess Bride. The director stopped filming and asked, “Are you okay, Andre?” To which Andre responded, “I am now, boss.”

Andre’s personality was so big that it bled into the ring. No one is going to compare Andre to RVD anytime soon, but he knew how to tell a story and put on a good show for the fans. ‘

Why Andre the Giant is awesome:

Andre is the only giant in this game. Big Show turned to the dark side and joined AEW. This marks the first time Big Show has been left out of a WWE game since he entered the company.
Andre and Hogan, in the Pontiac SilverDome (my hometown), turned the wrestling world upside down. It is still looked at as the most pivotal moment in WWE history.
The game equips him with his classic arsenal. He has the elbow drop, the butt drop, and the big splash. Dropping his big body on his opponent was all he ever needed to do.
He also has the tombstone as one of his finishers, which I never knew he was famous for. I did find one video of Andre performing the move.
Create the Big Show CAW and battle Andre for the Super Heavyweight Title.

6. Shane McMahon

I wonder how much they pay Shane to wrestle? Maybe, Vince just gives him an 'at a boy.'

There was a time when Shane did not deserve to be on this list. He is the owner’s son. He was given a silver WWE-shaped spoon. However, Shane has proven himself to be a legit talent.

I have seen this man jump off the top of HIAC, fall off the top of the Titantron, and destroy more announce tables than I can count. The downfall of Shane in 2K23 is that there is no younger version of the character. 2K should have a preloaded 90s version.

Shane was always Mr. McMahon’s lackey, but he was never afraid to take a sick bump. He deserves a shot at HHH to take back the company as true heir.

Why Shane is awesome:

Shane has the best move set in the entire game! He is currently rated a 79, but a younger version is, easily, an 84.
His move set includes: the Shooting Star Press, the Coast to Coast, the Elbow through the announce table, and the Rope a Dope Shuffle. The Shooting Star Press is currently banned from WWE (after the Brock debacle).
Shane had a few pointless title runs. Once with the Tag, Hardcore, and European titles, but he deserves a real run. Shane against Logan Paul seems like a great IC title feud.
You can recreate the Corporation and take the WWE back from HHH. Use the Corporation to dominate online MyFaction mode.

7. Super Cena

How can you catch what you cannot see?

John Cena’s Superstar mode is a game changer. If 2K continues this trend with Undertaker or Steve Austin, we are in for some awesome sequels. I imagine a Superstar mode with Good Ole’ J.R. where he talks about his favorite feuds or matches, giving us fans the greatest rivalries from across history.

There is a built-in superhero mode for John Cena in 2K. Super Cena is too cool and too fun not to make this list. John Cena is a superhero in his show Peacemaker (which I suggest you watch on HBO), but I feel Super Cena would kick his a**.

Super Cena is an invisible character, so you literally cannot see him. It is impossible to know what he is about to do next because all you see is his floating shirt.

Why Super Cena is awesome:

He is the only playable character rated 100.
To unlock Super Cena, you must go through all 19 matches of the John Cena Showcase mode.
It is a bit difficult to face him because you cannot see what he is doing. It could be a punch. It could be a grapple. This makes it difficult to reverse and you may get caught in a flurry.
He is invisible for his entire entrance, and it is hilarious.
He still has all of Cena’s classic moves. He has a few different AAs, including a top rope AA, and the Five Knuckle Shuffle 1 and 2.

8. NWO

You can make NWO as deep as you want in 2K. You can stick with the originals or add part timers like Booker T.

There are multiple versions of different superstars in this game. Randy Orton, the Rock, HHH, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena, all have more than one version of themselves. Each represents different periods in their careers. Three men that have multiple versions are Hogan, Hall, and Nash: the NWO.

Fans are excited to have the entire NWO. There is no need to download janky CAWs. They also have their entire original team’s entrance.

These men created the attitude era, even if it was for another company. They dominated every night on WCW. No one knew what they would do next, and everyone hated them. Everyone remembers fans throwing trash into the ring because they were legitimately pissed.

Why the NWO is awesome:

Syxx also has an NWO version. You can have X-Pac join the NWO from DX, or vice versa.
Including these NWO versions, there are 3 versions of Hogan, 2 of X-Pac, 3 of Scott Hall, and 3 of Kevin Nash
You can use the NWO to dominate MyFaction mode online. You can, also, have them go toe-to-toe with the Bloodline and DX.
NWO Hulk Hogan would be a contender to Roman Reigns’ title.

9. Chyna

Chyna was a warrior for the women's division and is looking down with a smile knowing what she did mattered.

There is a storyline currently going on in the WWE’s women’s division surrounding Lita and Trish returning to the ring. Trish is claiming she legitimized the women’s division. Lita and others are fighting back, saying it was her. Let's face facts, Chyna started the women’s revolution.

From the very start, everyone could see Chyna could hold her own. Her first day on Raw, she bearhugged Marlena. and it looked like an angry lady shaking a rag doll. Marlena said she woke up the next day and could barely move because of the bruises.

HHH recruited her to be the enforcer for DX, and she quickly became a star. Her feud with Jericho for the IC title is legendary. She sadly passed away on April 17, 2016. Adding her to this game is a great homage.

Why Chyna is awesome:

She is the only woman to hold the IC title.
She is the only female to ever truly hold a major men’s title. All the others (Trish, Molly, and Carmella) were hardcore gimmicks. The only one that comes close to Chyna’s run is when Jackie held the cruiserweight title.
Chyna brought that perfect serious tone to level out DX’s silliness.
Chyna has an awesome entrance where she shoots pyro into the sky.
She has a great arsenal, including the powerbomb, the flipping elbow into the corner, the pedigree, and the pedigree from the top rope.
She would make great matches in today’s women’s division against Charlotte and Becky.

10. Bruno Samartino

I have not watched any of Bruno's matches, but after researching him, I think I will head to Peacock and check a few out.

Everyone calls Hulk Hogan WWE’s first superstar, and it is hard to argue otherwise. He was such a showman. Hogan was such a larger-than-life character. People like Shawn Michaels, The Rock, John Cena, and HHHall kept the flame lit, but they didn’t ignite the torch. Those with a few more gray hairs may call Bruno Sammartino WWE’s first wrestling superstar.

He won the title from Nature Boy Buddy Rogers after Rogers had heart trouble. Bruno has been in multiple matches of the year and match of the year candidates. He even returned to WWE after a 3-year hiatus (1981-84) and was a color commentator.

He feuded with the greats like Macho Man and Rowdy Piper, meshing two different decades together. Much like the 2002 Hulk Hogan.

I have not seen many of his matches, but I still thank him for all he did. Sadly, he passed away on April 18, 2018.

Why Bruno Sammartino is awesome:

Bruno is unlocked after you defeat Bruno, Hogan, and Austin in a fatal four. It is difficult when you add challenges within the match. For instance, you must personally eliminate everyone from the match.
He has a longer title reign than Reigns current run. It is a length Roman is trying to surpass. Bruno held it for 1,237 days.
His moves include: the double fisted punch, the bearhug, and the back bender submission. In this submission, he puts the man on his shoulder and bends his back while jumping and squeezing.

[Top 10] WWE 2K23 Best Finishers That Are Awesome!

Finishers are the climax of most matches. It is the end of the story. No matter the story, when someone kicks out of a finisher, it is the twist in the movie that shocks us all.

It is when the little boy in The Sixth Sense tells Bruce Willis he is dead. It is finding out that Vader is Luke’s dad. If it is timed right, it changes the entire epicness of the match.

Most of us want to end our matches with a finisher. It feels incomplete to end it with a belly-to-belly or a Russian leg sweep. When the computer kicks out of a finisher, I feel the adrenaline of the match. It gets kicked up a notch.

These are WWE 2K’s top 10 finishers and how to perform them. For most of them, your opponent will not be kicking out.

1. John Cena Double Attitude Adjustment

The only thing better than one AA is two AAs.

I must start with the finisher of WWE 2K23’s poster boy, John Cena. The attitude adjustment had many revisions and changes to become what it is today.

Cena’s first persona in OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) was similar to Mr. Perfect. He called himself the Prototype and, instead of the attitude adjustment, performed a modified sit down powerbomb called the proto-bomb (there is a Cena Prototype version in 2K23 with the protobomb). It was not long before he moved on to his Thuganamics character.

Cena changed his finisher from the Proto-Bomb to the FU, the original version of the AA. I assume Brock modified Cena’s move and changed the U to a 5. There was a point when Cena did the FU and Brock did the F5 at the same time.

Cena once again changed his character. He lost the hate, kept the jersey, and became the cool All American we know today. The All-American family man could not have a finisher called the FU, so it changed, for the last time, to the AA.

Cena is known for his feats of strength, and that is why this move is so awesome. He lifts not one but two men onto his shoulders and throws them like rag dolls.

How to do it:

There must be at least three men involved in the match for this move to work. Make sure one of the opponents is stunned, but having both stunned will not hurt. Irish wipe the stunned opponent into the corner first. As quickly as you can, irish wipe the second opponent into the same corner, and they will be stacked on top of each other. Walk up to them and press R2/RT along with A/X. Cena must have a finisher stored.

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finisher:

It will deplete an entire green bar of stamina from two opponents, making handicap matches not only winnable but advantageous. It helps increase that unstoppable feeling Cena, Austin, Brock, and a few others, have had throughout WWE.
You only need one finisher, even though it affects two opponents.
It shows the great feats of strength Cena is capable of. When Big Show was asked who the strongest person in WWE history was, he instantly said John Cena.
He has performed it on top of a ladder, off the top rope, and on top of a hot rod.
5 superstars have shocked the world and kicked out of the AA: Orton, HHH, Batista, Sami Zayn, and the Miz (yes, that is right, the Miz).

2. Bret Hart Turnbuckle Figure Four

Submission matches are few and far between. Create the Submission Championship and have them every month.

Bret Hart is one of the greatest submission specialists of all time. He had a submission match with Austin that is constantly ranked number one on top ten lists. It was hard not to add the Sharpshooter to this list, but this move is just too cool and unique.

First added in WWE 2K14, this was one of Hart’s signature moves throughout the 1990s. Legends like Flair, Shawn Michaels, and Steve Austin have all fallen victim to it. Bret would weaken the leg for the sharpshooter. I love old-school wrestling (to be fair, I also love new-school wrestling).

Anytime a gigantic steel bar is required for a move, you know it will be awesome. It shows innovation and ruthlessness. What that era was all about.

How to do it:

Bret Hart needs to have a full blue momentum bar. Irish wipe your opponent into the corner. While the opponent is stunned, press RT/R2 and Square/X. The move will go to an animation of Bret wrapping the opponent’s leg around the ring post and doing the Figure Four.

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finishing move:

It shows the ruthless aggression Bret Hart had.
You do not need a stored finisher because it is a signature move.
It makes it easier to get a submission with the sharpshooter. The leg will be weakened (sweep the leg).
Bret Hart, arguably the best ever, invented it.

3. Cody Rhodes Cutter

Cody is one of the funnest superstars in WWE today. His arsenal makes every match a little more exciting.

Cody’s best move shows off his speed and agility. The two attributes that make him who he is.

Cody has always had a wide arsenal at his disposal, even when he was Stardust, but after joining AEW, he turned himself into the 2023 version of Shawn Michaels, or RVD. You never know what move he is about to make, when he is about to do it, or how he is about to do it.

Cody Rhodes has gone from Randy Orton’s lackey and a knockoff of Goldust to turning into a true main eventer. This move is a springboard RKO and is just fun to do.

When performing the move, Cody leaps onto the middle rope, bounces back to his opponent, grabs his neck, and slams them to the ground.

How to do it:

First, fill up your signature move bar. Then move Cody near the ropes, hit LB/L1 and X/Square while your opponent is near you, and you will perform the signature, cody cutter.

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finisher:

It uses the rope as a springboard, and not many other moves do that. While it has been in WWE games for a few years, it is still an awesome feature that is fun to watch.
It is a signature as opposed to a finisher. His finisher is the cross rhodes.
It comes out of nowhere, like the RKO.
A trend across 2K23 is assigning the secret cody cutter to Rhode’s move set. This is a top-rope springboard version of his signature. It can be done as many times as you want, as opposed to his normal signature cutter, but it may get reversed. I suggest you add it in.
Cody’s first ever match was against Randy Orton. Orton was also Rhodes mentor in a revamped version of Evolution with only legacies allowed to join. I assume Orton gave Cody the idea for this move.

4. Seth Rollins Curb Stomp

Have you ever seen the beginning of American History X? That is what the curb stomp reminds me of.

I’m not sure which move would cause a concussion faster, Seth Rollins’ curb stomp or Randy Orton’s punt. These two would make an awesome Last Man Standing match, with each trying to hit their finisher to get the knockout. I decided to put Rollins’ curb stomp on here,though, because the punt is currently banned from the WWE (while the Stomp has been reinstated from its’ banishment).

It may be a matter of time before the curb stomp is banned once again. Vince will probably reapply the ban after some kid stomps his friend’s head into the ground during some backyard wrestling. The curb stomp is the most lethal, legal move in the WWE. And probably the best finisher that does not involve HIAC or tables.

How you do it:

Simply hit the finisher buttons:R2+X or RT+Square. The opponent can be on the ground, or Seth will throw them down before he stomps their head.

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finisher:

This is the most lethal finisher out there and looks like it could seriously injure someone.
It will decrease an opponent's entire red bar and put them down for good.
It was also banned from the WWE for a while when it was originally named: “The Blackout.” It was allowed back after some Seth begging and renamed the curb stomp.
The curb stomp is a protected finisher, meaning not many people are allowed to kick out of it. If someone is to kick out of the curb stomp, it must be a huge moment or a mega superstar. The only people that I know of that have kicked out of it are John Cena (Rumble ’15), Orton (WM 31), and Dean Ambrose (FCW ’11).
Seth Rollins' other finisher is the Pedigree. He has special permission from Triple H to use it in his arsenal.
The most effective way to do the curb stomp is to drag your opponent to one of the turnbuckles, hit your finisher buttons, and Seth will climb to the second rope to perform the move.

5. Edge’s Spear through a flaming table

Everytime I watch this it makes me smell bacon. Is that weird?

Edge has a long and storied career. He started his rise as part of Gangrel's Brood faction, which led to the formation of E and C and his becoming a full-blown star. Then, during the 2001 Invasion, they separated E and C, and Edge became the biggest star in WWE.

When many tag team specialists start out, they don’t always have a legit finisher of their own. Edge’s first popular finisher was a lifted DDT called the edgecution. The spear was more of a dropkick or clothesline for Edge at first. A tough, quick move to swing momentum. He quickly made it famous, and people expected it from him.

While the spear itself is awesome, doing it through a flaming table turns it into a “Holy S***!” moment.

How you do it:

You will need two finishers. Go to the outside of the ring and pick up a table by pressing LB (Xbox) or L1 (PS). Make sure to position it at the correct angle needed for the spear.

Set the table down by pressing A/X. There will be a prompt to ignite the table; do so with your first finisher by either pushing RT+A or R2+X. After the table is lit (I love the look of the blaze!), get back into the ring with your opponent. Hit him into the ropes near the flaming table until he leans on the top rope.

Hit the finisher buttons, and there will be an animation of Edge dumping his opponent over the rope. Your opponent will stand up outside the ropes, and Edge will spear him through the ropes and through the flaming table.

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finisher:

Edge Spearing Cactus Jack through the flaming table is one of the most iconic moments in WWE history. That WrestleMania 22 Hardcore match is one of the most gruesome matches Foley has ever had (and that is saying something).
Edge’s Spear had another iconic WrestleMania moment when he speared Hardy from the top of the ladder. I’m sure you’ve seen it a few hundred times.
We know Roman Reigns hypes up the crowd before the Spear, but Edge originated the pre-Spear pop.
This is another move that looks like it hurts. Cactus had to have suffered thirddegree burns.
While Edge has the edgecution as a finisher and edgeucator as his submission hold, the spear is his most iconic move.
Getting burned hurts, and I can only imagine what it feels like to smother a fire with a human’s body.

6. Rock Bottom from top of ladder

Rock is a well known actor, musician, and a** kicker.

The Rock Bottom was good-looking last year, but WWE 2K23 has increased its’ motion tenfold this year. You can see Rock lifting his opponent, trying to get them as high as possible.His opponent’s legs and arms flail in the air, and he slams them down. I had the Rock bottom delivered to me during backyard wrestling, and it knocked the wind out of me.

While the Rock bottom is sufficient on its’ own, performing it off the ladder is just that much better. Not everyone has the ability to perform their finishing move from the top of the ladder, which makes this finisher a little extra special and unique to the Rock.

This is the only move from the top of the ladder on this list because it is that good.

How to do it:

This one requires a little help from your opponent because they have to climb the ladder. Carry the ladder with LB or L1 under the belts so your opponent will want to climb it. Set it down by pressing X (PS) or A (XBOX). Let your opponent start to climb the ladder (don't worry, they will not be able to grab the belts fast enough to win). Then you start to climb, and when you are both at the top, perform your finisher by pressing RT+A or R2+X.

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finisher:

There are many iconic finishers across the WWE, and this is one of the few that has yet to be passed down. Rolins uses the Pedigree and KO the Stunner, but will anyone be able to use the Rock bottom?
Try putting a table underneath you at the right angle and lighting it on fire, to up the ante.
This move has been in wrestling for a long time, but 2K23 has perfected it.
Stone Cold, Angle, Brock, Hogan, and Goldberg (quite an impressive list) are some of the few men to ever kick out of the Rock bottom. No one has ever kicked out of one from the top of the ladder.

7. Spear through chamber in Elimination Chamber

Elimination Chamber is the best match WWE has to offer. There are many different ways to use the cage as a weapon.

I still vividly remember watching the first ever Elimination Chamber. Believe it or not, it was Eric Bishoff who teased the crowd. Telling them how he created the most brutal match ever. A little bit of HIAC, a little bit of WarGames, a little bit of King of the Mountain, the right finances, and you get the Elimination Chamber. My personal favorite match.

It was Survivor Series 2002, and HBK regained the WWE title for the first time in over five years (fun fact: HHH actually broke something in his neck after an RVD Frog Splash from atop a pod). No one was speared through the chamber in this match, but Kane did throw someone through it, and HHH was slingshotted through one. It was not until 2003 that Goldberg speared Jericho through the plexiglass.

I have never been a fan of Goldberg, so at least I can recreate this moment with a more high-class superstar.

How you do it:

Make sure your opponent is stunned. Grab him by pressing Circle/B and LB/L1. When you get to the pod, it will prompt you to hit Square/X. After that, perform a heavy attack by holding A or X, and you will spear someone through the pod.

I would make sure your momentum bar is full and you have a finisher stored. It may get reversed, and it is not easy to do.

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finisher:

That plexiglass looks extra painful when someone smashes through it. You can see the force required to drive someone through the glass. It does not break as easily as a table.
You can perform this as many times as you want. You can even walk around and destroy every pod on both sides if you feel so inclined.
This one is nice because it can be done with a variety of superstars; almost everyone can spear someone through the glass.
There is a new animation where your opponent reverses the spear, causing you to crash through the glass.

8. Undertaker’s Chokeslam from top of HIAC and Last Ride through HIAC

Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker was the first ever HIAC match. It is most famous for Kane ripping off the door.

I know the first thing you think of when you think of a chokeslam from the HIAC, Rikishi! For those who do not remember, Rikishi too was chokeslammed from the top of HIAC. It happened in the only ever 6-man HIAC match. (Note: Kurt Angle actually retained his belt against Austin, Taker, HHH, Rock, and Rikishi, which is impressive.).

2K gives us the opportunity to perform this feat on any WWE star on our hit list. Tired of Lesner? Do a HIAC chokeslam. Upset at the Goldberg/Taker last match? Do a HIAC chokeslam. Are you upset at some of the things Hogan has done? Do a HIAC chokeslam.

Pissed at your boss? Wait, how did that get in there? Give him an animated HIAC chokeslam.

If you position yourself correctly, your opponent will go straight through the announce table. Then bring them back up the cell and give them a last ride through the top.

The last ride is specific to the Undertaker. Other wrestlers use a powerslam to break the top. Undertaker created the last ride after an 8-month hiatus. Taker came in with his new, unexplained persona and beat the crap out of the McMahons. Then he gave his first last ride to HHH.

How to do it:

Climb up the cell with R1/RB. After you get to the top. It's all about positioning. Get your opponent as close to the edge as possible and hit X/A. It is convenient that you do not need a finisher stored up. So, you can technically hit a finisher on top of the cell and then chokeslam them to the ground.

To complete the "Mankind Special,” you are going to have to put someone through the top of the cell. There are four breakable squares at the top of the cage. You will see it breaking as you slam opponents onto it.

Press the Circle/B button and R1/RB button, which will allow you to carry your opponent to where you need it. Press L to change the position of the carry, and then R2/RT and X/A to last ride them through the top of the cage to the ring below. Follow your opponent down with R1/RB and pin them to put them out of their misery.

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finisher:

Mankind is the only man to go through the top of the cell, but you can change that.
Putting someone through a cage will almost deplete their entire red bar (though I think it should be much more).
Undertaker is one of the few people with three distinct finishers.
This last ride through the HIAC is one of the few moves that looks like you killed a man.
There are four different versions of Taker, so use the ’98 for the Chokeslam and the ’03 for the last ride.

9. Shane McMahon’s Elbow Drop onto the announce table

Shane will always be the owner's son. Shane will, also, always be one risky son of a b****.

Shane McMahon is no wrestler, but he is responsible for some of the best spots in WWE history. He is in one of my favorite matches with Kurt Angle at KOTR. He was belly-to-belly suplexed through glass and angle slammed from the top rope.

In a different match, he fell off the Titantron 100 feet in the air after Blackman hit him in the back with a kendo stick. He also jumped off the Hell in a Cell, missing the Undertaker and crashing through the announce table.

That is why this move has to be on the list. Not only is it awesome, but it fits Shane’s persona. He is right on top of the list with Mankind and Jeff Hardy as the biggest risk takers in WWE history. Shane diving from something high and smashing through a table is just his style.

How to do it:

Beat down your opponent and stun him first. Clear the announce table of monitors and the tabletop by pressing R1/RB. This is a nice, newly added feature.

Irish wipe your opponent into the table until the finisher icon appears. After that, just hit RT+A or R2+X. It will do an animation of Shane putting his opponent onto the table, punching them, then going to the top turnbuckle and dropping the elbow!

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finisher:

It is a unique finisher in that it is outside of the ring, and you cannot go straight into a pin afterward.
There is the bonus of being able to smash a table in a normal match.
Jey Uso was also a consideration with his diving splash.
Another of Shane’s high-flying finishers is the coast to coast and the shooting star press.
Shane first dropped the elbow onto Test at Summerslam 1999. He also dove off the top of the TitanTron onto Big Show with the elbow drop to win a Last Man Standing match.

10. Claymore by Drew McIntyre

I know the leg slap is in controversary right now in wrestling, but I for one, love it.

This move made it onto the list alongside The curb stomp as the only two standard finishers. They are each too awesome to leave off. Another straight shot to the face that would knock anyone out.

The claymore was actually made by accident. Drew was part of a rock n’ roll tag team called 3MB and part of his shtick was that he had to wear tight black pants. He was trying to do a big boot but could not get his other leg up, so it turned into the first ever claymore kick.

How to do it:

This one is easy. Simply store up a finisher and hit RT+A or R2+X.

Why this is a 2K23 Top 10 finisher:

It is a straight kick to the face and would loosen anyone’s teeth.
He is part of a great tag team with Sheamus, who also has a spinning kick as a finisher. Sheamus and McIntyre are close friends in real life. McIntyre was even Sheamus’ best man.

10 Most Exciting WWE 2K23 Gameplay Features

Most people call the N64’s No Mercy the best wrestling game ever.Others say Raw vs Smackdown 2009 is the best. The oldies but the goodies might say WWF Super WrestleMania, but there is a new WWE game in town, and it deserves its’ day in the sun. I am going to look at the top ten most exciting gameplay features WWE 2K23 offers.

1. Weapons

Now you can jump off the ladder or put someone through it. Weapons are more realistic than ever.

Weapons are a staple in WWE television and WWE gaming. They bring an extra element and make a dull match exciting. WWE has introduced new ways to punish opponents in 2K23 to help create instant classics.

Using Hell in a Cell as a weapon has always been a fan favorite, and 2K23 gives the user even more options for destruction. Superstars can now use their finishers, or signature moves, to smash their opponents through the cell fence. Also, after you climb to the top, 2K23 allows you to use your finisher to throw opponents from the top of the cell onto the announce table. ManKind, eat your heart out!

Hardcore matches have become a mini game in themselves trying to find different ways to hurt your opponent. All the classics are in: garbage cans, chair shots, and being put through a table. Some fun new editions are:

The ability to spear someone through the barricade.
Throwing a man from a balcony into a stage light, causing an electrical explosion.
You can break a ladder in half by throwing an opponent through it.
You can light a table on fire before putting your opponent through it, and the fire looks awesome!
As long as one opponent is a heavyweight and one is a super heavyweight, a top rope superplex causes a ring explosion.

2. WarGames and other match types

WarGames has been on fans wish lists for over a decade. 2K23 finally delievers on the goods.

WarGames, the match that made Sami an honorary Uce, is in WWE 2K for the first time. This has been a long time coming. WWE has finally gotten over itself and acknowledged a good idea when it sees one (even if another company invented it). Thank you, Triple H!

WarGames can be either a 3v3 or 4v4 match. WarGames starts with one player each, and the other players come in at timed intervals (30 seconds-5 minutes). At points, one team will have an advantage, but don’t worry; you can only win or lose the match after all opponents have entered. Your superstar is allowed to grab one or multiple weapons on their way to the cage.

This match mode allows for a whole new dynamic. You must take into consideration your teammates health and their position in the cage while, at the same time, figuring out which opponent you want to exploit and where. What if a pin happens and you are not even in the same ring?

If you are playing alone, you can switch between superstars to make sure no one is permanently cornered. WarGames allows up to eight different online players at once. Building a team and taking down your best friend is half the fun of this match mode.

WWE 2K23 still has your favorites: ladder, TLC, cage, hardcore, tables, etc. It, also, has a custom match creator. There is a lengthy list of options when creating your own match, such as titles, types of weapons, and how it ends.

You could create a US Title Chair match that only ends when you do your finisher. This custom option is great in Superstar Mode when you want to end your feud with the perfect gimmick bout.

3. John Cena Showcase

John Cena and the developers take Showcase mode to a new level. It takes you through John Cena's career and gives a new look to the man, the myth, the legend, John Cena.

Showcase Mode has been a fan favorite since its’ induction in 2015. It gives the user the chance to relive a specific feud or wrestler’s journey through the WWE. Including DLCs there are 20 Showcase Modes in WWE 2K. 2K23 does its best to differentiate itself from the pack.

This is the second Showcase mode featuring John Cena (the first was with CM Punk in their feud back in 2011), but the developers decided to change the status quo by focusing on John Cena’s motto, ‘Never Give Up.’ This showcase highlights the losses in Cena’s career and how they pushed him to become better.

The creators changed the dynamics after complaints of playing with the same superstar for 15-20 matches and now allow you to play with 17 different superstars. The showcase spans nearly 20 years, from Cena’s first match against Kurt Angle (Smackdown 2002) to his last WWE title match with Reigns (Summerslam 2021).

John Cena, in a fancy suit, editorializes before and after the match, giving his thoughts and feelings. The goal is not to win the match, because you know who wins, but to complete challenges throughout the match. These challenges are to hit highlight moves and spots that happened in the real match.

Depending on the length of the match, after you complete the challenges, the match will go to a cut scene and show a segment of the real match in real time. The transitions are flawless, making it feel like you are in the same match Cena was in. If you ever wanted to be John Cena, this is your chance.

4. Pinning (a mini-game)

This is the first time the pinning system has been upgraded and it is long overdue.

Anyone who has ever played a video game knows the feeling of smashing the B button over and over in order to overcome some sort of challenge. I have personally hit the B button for Mario Party well over half a million times. These controls have been the standard method of kicking out since the Stone Age, but 2K23 has created a more challenging system.

The new system may remind you of kicking a field goal in Madden or defusing a bomb in 007. There is a large bar moving right to left while your cursor moves left to right, and you must land your cursor inside of the moving bar.

The longer the match goes on and the more damage you take, the smaller the bar becomes. This system adds realness to pinning and makes matches more authentic. If you kick out of a Hell in the Cell chokeslam and the bar is no bigger than the cursor, you may have Cole screaming, “Dear God! How did he kick out of that!”

5. Universe Mode

I take hours crafting my WWE universe, roster, titles, and fueds. I hope you are as big of a nerd as me.

Universe mode allows the user to be the god of WWE. My first commandment when going into my universe is, “Thou shalt not recreate the Invasion angle of 2000”. This mode is for those who want to tediously create the WWE world they envision in their minds.

There is a laundry list of options to alter the WWE to your liking. Some try to keep their universe as close to real life as possible, while others take the opposite approach and recreate everything from top to bottom. If you wanted WCW to win the Monday Night Wars, you could create a world where that happened.

The following is my universe to help give an understanding of everything that can be accomplished in Universe mode. I run two shows a week, Nitro on Mondays and Velocity on Thursdays, as well as a PPV every fourth Sunday. King of the Ring is back and leads to a title shot while The Great American Bash is the summer’s new number one PPV.

Edge is the Undisputed Champion (the belt he holds is the original undisputed title), and Cody Rhodes is the number one contender. My hottest feud is Shawn Michaels vs. Seth Rollins, which is set as a long-term feud with low intensity.

Low intensity allows more cutscenes to choose and navigate from which is what I prefer. I like to craft a complex, lengthy story with my rivalries. I have also edited the ring look and the factions, and Otis has the MITB briefcase.

After the universe is set to your liking, you can play all the matches, play some of the matches, or allow the computer to take it away and see where the chips fall. I feel like many of us can do a better job than Vince McMahon, and this is your chance to prove it.

6. GM Mode

2K has not perfected GM mode, but this is the best version WWE has ever created. It is not easy to complete all the challenges and remain a number one show, so be ready to put in the work.

Eric Bishoff (Raw) and Stephanie McMahon (Smackdown) had a GM feud back in 2002 that made for great television. Together, they helped create the WWE Draft, stole titles, stole superstars, and made trades. WWE GM Mode allows you to compete against your friends (up to 4) or against yourself, to create the best show.

GM Mode now has more playable characters than ever. The GM oversees a single show and the specific superstars assigned to that show, acquired in the WWE Draft. Each superstar has statistics, characteristics, and style that factor into your drafting. You don’t want to have 15 faces and 2 heels on your roster.

After you choose your inaugural champions, Triple H and others will chime in to give you different challenges, such as “Book a cage match.” Along with completing Triple H’s requests, your job is to create every match and its stipulations, rivalries, titles, and promos.

The show is simulated, and each segment is rated on a scale from 1 to 5 based on 10 different attributes. At the end, your entire show is rated and given a financial statement, fan count, grade, and story arc. Your story arc should create a clear vision (start strong, then stay level, then end with your strongest segments).

7. Budgeting and Challenges in GM Mode

Keeping the budget balanced is an essentail part of any owner's life. Make sure not to spend it all in one place.

Budgeting as an adult is lame and boring. I want to buy the giant sombrero, but then I remember that I have a gas bill. However, in this case, the 2K23 budget is an awesome extra challenge in GM mode that keeps you humble.

You start with a budget of $2.75 million, and it is essential to be smart with your money. During the draft, each superstar costs a certain amount of money (Brock is the highest at 275 thousand!). While building your show, certain promos, special effects, and specific match types will also factor into your cost. At the end of the show, your financial statement will reflect your profits and losses.

The fan base is another crucial element in GM mode. There are a few things to consider when trying to keep your fan base high:

Your overall story arcs.
Studying the show notes you are given at the end of each episode.
Keeping your superstar’s stamina high for PPV events while keeping your weekly shows at a high level.

Do well enough, and you can complete accomplishments like “increase your fanbase to 10 million,” eventually leading to a hall of fame career.

8. Superstar Mode

Superstar mode gives you the chance to follow your favorite superstar in the universe you created. You can put them through the ringer to see if they can survive. Play each of their matches yourself or let the computer do the work.

My favorite superstar has been Edge since he won the IC Title from Jeff Jarret in 1999. What if Edge never got injured in 2011 and was able to compete for the World Title against Christian or take on the Shield? These are questions I get to answer in WWE 2K23.

I can recreate the 2011 WWE universe, pick Edge as my superstar, and watch how his career plays out. The computer simulates the rest of the events, and I must adjust accordingly in my Edge Butterfly Effect world.

As Edge, you can cut a promo, attack a superstar to start a rivalry, demand a title shot, and do many other things superstars like to do. As the intensity of your rivalry increases, different stipulations and scenes will be unlocked, for example: ‘loser leaves town’. If you lose, you are kicked off your show and become a free agent.

9. MyRise

MyRise has a great storyline and brings authentic WWE voices and scripts to the table. It is one of a kind and will bring a smile to any WWE fan's face.

Every WWE game needs to have a good underdog story mixed in, and that is what 2K gives you in MyRise Mode. Daniel Bryan’s rise and Kofi Kingston’s title run were lightning in a bottle and what 2K gives you in MyRise.

To begin, the user can choose between “The Lock” (men’s division) or “The Legacy” (women’s division) storylines. In “The Legacy,” your aunt is former 6-time world champ Justine, and while she is on her way out, you are on your way in.

You debut as a mystery partner for a Survivor Series team. After your aunt leaves your side, you have to navigate the WWE yourself and become your own Superstar.

In the male version, you are a world renown star who has come to WWE, and they have changed your gimmick to their liking, calling you “The Lock”. Not too happy with this image, you fight to be who you really are (whatever superstar you have created in Create-A-Superstar mode). Throughout, you will have different choices in factions, teams, titles, promos and more.

In each mode, it is up to you to build your legacy and become the face, or heel, of the company. Your choices and victories will have a major impact on how the story plays out and you will have no one else to blame but yourself.

10. The things they could fix

Not everything in a game can be perfect, but they try to get better every year.

2K has great new additions, making it one of the best wrestling games of all time. The immersion they accomplish is next level, and I know I will be playing it for months. Perfection, however, is impossible to achieve, but if they tighten a few screws, this game may reach that status.

If WWE adds weapon grappling it can bring a whole new level of excitement and thrill. In the move editor, there should be an option to create unique grapples for each weapon. It would be awesome to perform the “Whisper in the Wind” with the Hardyz through a table or a 619 from the top of the ladder.

There are also a few technical glitches. Sometimes, the wrestler’s hair will stretch across the screen, primarily in online mode. Although the in-game loading is near flawless, they could work on the online side. That, along with not being able to make Triple Threat or Fatal Four Way title matches in GM mode, takes away some of the thrills.

These are small details, but that is what made N64’s No Mercy so special. Not only was it titled an obscure PPV, but they made sure all the kinks were out before giving it to the fans. This is still an amazing game and deserves a play from any true fan.

[Top 10] Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Best Scenes

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth installment of the series, is action packed and full of suspense. The ministry has interfered at Hogwarts, and those who believe in fighting for themselves stand up against the government and rally behind Harry. So, whether you’re here to refresh your memory while waiting for more news about the Harry Potter reboot, or simply want to relive some of your favorite scenes, let’s dive right into the top ten best scenes of the fifth movie.

10. Dementor Attack

“Dementors, in Little Whinging?”

Unexpectedly, at the start of the movie, dementors make an appearance in the muggle town Harry grew up in. While Harry is confronting Dudley and his friends, the sky darkens and the tell-tail cold the dementors bring with them settles over the area. Harry and Dudley run for cover, but not soon enough.

The dementors attack, and Harry is forced to use the patronus charm to fend them off and save Dudley. But Harry is still only fifteen, and casting magic while underage, no less in front of a muggle, is highly illegal.

This is one of the best starts to the franchise. The stakes are high, now that Voldemort has returned, and this goes to show that Harry isn’t safe, even in the muggle world. The muggles are not safe either, since the dementors are attacking them as well.

9. Grimmauld Place

Harry is reunited with his friends and Sirius at Grimmauld Place. After the dementor attack, Harry gets to escape his life at the Dursleys and be with the people that matter to him. Most importantly, he is in a place where people believe him and they are planning on doing something to stop Voldemort.

This scene is heartwarming, which is why it’s one of the best. The look on Harry and Sirius’s face whenever they get to see each other after being separated for so long is enough to make a grown man cry. While Harry has a found family, Sirius is the father he never got to have.

8. Harry’s Hearing

Harry has to face the consequences of his actions. You know, the part where he saved his and Dudley’s life?

While the stakes are high, since Voldemort has returned, the Ministry of Magic still doesn’t believe him. They hold a hearing to convict him of using magic and Dumbledore swoops in to save the day. He defends Harry and brings in a witness to convince the jury that Harry isn’t lying.

While there hasn’t been much about politics in the series, we are finally introduced to the political wizarding world, which adds a level of depth to the world and to the conflict. Politics, wherever you go, remain the same, and people are always ruled by fear. Even if some characters are frustrating, this scene does a great job at establishing those characters and making the internal political struggle very real.

7. Harry vs Umbridge

Everyone loves a sassy Harry almost as much as they hate Umbridge.

Umbridge, one of the people who voted to convict Harry, is now teaching at Hogwarts and won’t let students use magic. Despite the threat of the Dark Lord, those living in fear and disbelief decide to interfere at Hogwarts. Harry argues against Umbridge, telling her that Voldemort has returned and has already killed a Hogwarts student, Cedric Digory.

While Umbridge is one of the most infuriating characters in the entire series, it is done so well by the writers and the actress. This scene is one of the best because we get to see Harry argue for what he believes in, in a sarcastic manner akin to his personality in the book.

6. Dumbledore’s Army Formation

The Ministry has taken steps to prevent students from learning how to defend themselves during a time where learning to fight is most important.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione plan a meeting with a mixture of students from other houses to form a plan. Gathering at the Hog’s Head Inn with other students, Harry tells them that they don’t know what it’s like to be an inch from death, that he is no hero, and that he just got lucky. The others are hesitant at first, but once they see how honest and humble Harry is, they decide he is the leader for them.

This scene is powerful and moving. We finally get a glimpse at how Harry really feels about everything that has happened to him, and how the other students perceive his actions. Harry has been going around saving the school and other people for years, and it’s about time other people see that.

5. Dumbledore’s Got Style

After the students get caught learning how to defend themselves, the Minister goes after Dumbledore, believing he is creating an army to take him down. Of course, he seems to have forgotten that there is a threat bigger than him, and that Dumbledore is not some meek old wizard. Dumbledore refuses to go quietly to Azkaban and, with the help of Fawkes, makes a grand and fiery exit.

While it is known that Dumbledore is one of the most powerful wizards, seeing him in action, and defying the government, is pretty awesome. He takes the blame for Harry’s actions, protecting him once again, and makes an escape so spectacular that the enemy can’t stop themselves from being impressed too.

4. Snape’s Memories

While we know a bit about Snape’s past, and his distaste for Harry, we don’t know much until we get to see it for ourselves.

Snape has been trying to teach Harry how to protect his mind from invaders. Now that they know Voldemort and Harry’s minds are connected, it is highly possible for Voldemort to control and manipulate Harry. But, after Harry and Snape argue, Harry casts a protection spell and Snape’s mind reading spell backfires.

Harry then gets to see one of Snape’s worst memories during his time at Hogwarts, and why he hates Harry’s father so much. Harry’s father and friends, Sirius, Lupin, and Petigrew, bullied Snape relentlessly.

This scene is one of the best because we finally get to know more about Snape’s character and Harry’s father. We have always seen Snape as the bad guy because of his attitude, but now our perspectives have been challenged. We see that James, Harry’s father, wasn’t necessarily a good guy either.

3. Fred and George’s Exit

Justice has never tasted so sweet.

After an entire school year of Umbridge’s oppressive reign, she finally gets what she deserves. During the fifth year’s OWLs, Fred and George barge in on broomsticks, using fireworks to put on a fantastic display. Umbridge is chased by a fiery dragon, and all the rules posted in the foyer are destroyed.

This scene is one of the best ones in the movie, because nothing has ever felt so satisfying. Fred and George’s pranks have always been hilarious, but they finally use it for a greater good by driving out one of the most hated characters in the series and ending their final year at Hogwarts with a bang.

2. Death Eater Attack

With Dumbledore on the run, and the Ministry refusing to do anything about Voldemort, Harry and his friends must act on their own.

Led to believe Sirius is in danger due to Voldemort’s manipulation, Harry and his friends make their way to the Department of Mysteries to save him. They are greeted by Death Eaters, Voldemort’s followers, and the woman who tortured Neville’s parents, Bellatrix Lastrange.

After the students battle the Death Eaters and flee, the original members of the Order of the Phoenix arrive to save them.

This scene is intense, and everything leading up to a certain character’s death, is full of action. After a certain someone’s death, Harry’s reaction is heart wrenching and we see him nearly lose it to the dark side, even going so far as to cast one of the unforgivable curses on Bellatrix. This entire sequence amazing because of how powerful, moving, and heartbreaking it is.

1. Dumbledore vs Voldemort

Dumbledore fighting against Voldemort is one of the best showdowns and displays of magic in the entire series.

Coming to Harry’s defense once again, Dumbledore battles Voldemort in a display of power unlike anything we’ve seen before. Dumbledore is one of the only wizards Voldemort fears, and now we know why. They counter one anothers attacks perfectly, matching one another in strength, and ending the battle with no injuries.

This scene is epic. The CGI, the action, and what follows is amazing and it’s the battle we’ve been waiting for. Five movies worth of build up led to this moment, where good and evil collide. And finally, after all this time, the Minister of Magic sees Voldemort and learns he has been a fool this entire time.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire does an amazing job at setting up the tone of the movie from the very beginning. Voldemort’s presence hangs over the wizarding world, even if they are distracted by the Triwizard Tournament and foreign schools that are participating alongside Hogwarts. Some of the best moments from the movie range from comedic to terrifying, so let’s refresh our memories with ten of the best scenes from the fourth installment of the franchise.

10. The Dark Mark

From the very beginning, the fourth movie doesn’t hide that it has taken an even darker approach to the wizarding world than the previous one.

After the Quidditch World Cup celebration is interrupted by an attack from Death Eaters, Harry, Hermione, Ron, and his family flee the area, along with hundreds of other wizards. Unfortunately, Harry is knocked out during the stampede. He wakes up to find a mark in the sky- a skull with a snake inside its mouth.

While dark, this scene is one of the best because it does a great job at setting up the ominous tone of the movie. After not hearing much about Voldemort in the Prisoner of Azkaban, it seems fitting that we would be given such a strong reminder. Casting Voldemort’s mark in the sky is metaphorical as well, since the Dark Lord’s presence hangs over them.

9. Foreign Schools Arrive at Hogwarts

So far, we have only heard of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and nothing about any other schools.

This changes when students from other schools arrive at Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament. The students of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, who are from France, put on a beautiful display upon their arrival, showing off their elegance and magic. Durmstrang Academy is located in northern Sweden and Norway, and their performance displays dominance and strength.

While there are not many words spoken during this scene, seeing the way different magical schools dress, perform, and use magic is a testament within itself to the different cultures. Seeing other wizarding schools expands the scope of the wizarding world greatly, making it one of the best scenes.

8. Fred and George Grow Old Together

Leave it up to Fred and George to try and challenge Dumbledore.

Being in their sixth year at Hogwarts, the twins can’t participate in the Triwizard Tournament and they won’t get the chance to ever again. They cleverly devise an aging potion so they can get past the spell Dumbledore has placed around the Goblet of Fire. They managed to get past the spell, put their name’s into the goblet, and then their spell backfires.

They age far more than they intended, growing gray beards, and they blame one another for the spell going wrong.

This scene sticks out so much because it is funny and, when rewatching the series, it’s bittersweet. The twins get to grow old together, even if they are not happy about it in the moment. Their bickering and fighting has always been one of the best things about the series.

7. Moody Transfigures Draco

Moody may be breaking the moral rules set in place at Hogwarts, but it’s worth it.

Draco has always been the annoying bully ready to pick on Harry and his friends at a moment's notice. After hearing him call Hermione “mudblood” so many times throughout the series, we’ll take whatever humitation comes his way. This time, it’s in the form of a ferret.

Moody notices Draco about to cast a spell on Harry after he turns his back. Seeing this as a cowardly act, Moody transfigures Malfoy into a ferret, tosses him around a little bit, and sticks him down one of his friend’s pants.

This is, by far, one of the best moments in the Goblet of Fire. Everyone loves seeing cute animals, but watching Draco get humiliated is a close contender. While the ferret, aka Draco, is unharmed, we know he will carry with him the moment he ended up in someone else’s pants as a small animal for the rest of his life.

6. Harry Chased by Dragon

The moment we’ve all been waiting for.

As the first trial begins, we already know Harry is at a disadvantage. The Hungarian Horntail is said to be vicious, and Harry is not as skilled as his peers. While powerful and clever, he doesn’t have the extra three years of schooling that the other contenders have.

Luckily for him, all he needs is Accio and his broomstick. Summoning his broom, Harry has to flee the dragon that has broken from its chain. It chases him away from the stadium and all the way to Hogwarts.

Dragons are a big deal in many fantasy movies, and getting to see a fully grown one is terrifying and exciting. More so terrifying for Harry. This scene is action packed and suspenseful, making it one of the best.

5. The Yule Ball

It is common for schools to have dances, like prom, and plenty of us were probably wondering what a dance at a wizarding school would look like.

After Hermione’s eye-catching entrance, the celebration begins. Unfortunately for Harry and Ron’s dates, the two boys have other things on their minds and don’t care much to enjoy it. Sticking with typical school dance fashion, there is a little bit of drama mixed in and Hermione ends up crying by the end.

Getting to see the character’s we’ve watched grow up over the last few movies dress up is cool and all, but getting to see the emotions between characters gradually start to build and shift is another thing. While it’s obvious Harry has a crush on Cho, we can’t help but wonder where exactly Ron’s concern for Hermione stems from. Is it friendship, or the first sign of his romantic feelings for her?\

4. The Merpeople

The Second Task (Part 2) | Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

The second trial, of course, has to amp it up. What better way than to put the people you love in danger?

The second trial, which is an underwater timed competition that requires the participants to save their friends, gives us more insight on the wizarding world. We are introduced to the merpeople who reside in the Black Lake. While not much is known about them before, in this one trial we get to see that they are not like the Disney mermaids we are used to.

This scene had us waiting with bated breath to see if Harry could save both his friends and it does a great job at introducing a whole new society of people quickly. We see that the merpeople are harsh, violent, but allies of the wizards, otherwise they wouldn’t have participated in the trial. The ever expanding world of wizards and witches keeps growing.

3. The Pensive

Leave it up to Harry to fall into someone else’s memory by accident.

Harry’s curiosity gets the better of him and he investigates the pensive in Dumbledore’s office, a basin that holds a magical water where memories can be relieved. The memory in question is one of Dumbledore’s and it shows Barty Crouch when he was still alive, holding a trial for Igor Karkaroff, the current headmaster of Drumstrangm who came with his students to Hogwarts. However, the trial takes a turn and Barty Crouch Jr. reveals his allegiances.

The pensive is an important part of one of the upcoming movies, which makes this a memorable scene. It's filled with a great deal of foreshadowing, especially since we haven’t seen the last of Barty Crouch Jr. Dumbledore knows the enemy is inside Hogwarts, and he is so close to the truth.

2. Voldemort’s Return

Fourteen years of peace comes to an end.

Voldemort has haunted the wizarding world, figuratively and literally, since the very beginning of the series. He was a shadow that Harry only crossed paths with in the first movie, but after all this time, his allies have found a way to revive him.

The snake-like human that comes to life is a terrifying reflection of evil incarnate. As sad as this scene is, from a beloved character dying to the Dark Lord’s resurrection, it is also one of the best. Voldemort’s return was inevitable, and the way in which he returns will haunt us.

1. Mad-Eye Moody

If you thought Voldemort’s return was the last shocking part of the movie, then you’re in for another surprise.

Mad-Eye Moody, considered one of the best dark wizard hunters, begins acting strange when he takes Harry away from the maze. He begins to show signs that he might not be who Harry, and everyone else, thought he was this entire time. As the polyjuice potion wears off, Barty Crouch Jr. is revealed.

Luckily, the professors and Dumbledore show up in time to capture him and save Harry. It is revealed that the real Mad-Eye is at the bottom of a magical trunk and the last of the missing puzzle pieces come together.

This last scene is one of the best, because it really gets us thinking. Every interaction since “Mad-Eye” showed up at Hogwarts was not the real Mad-Eye. Even the moments where he and Harry were bonding, Harry was unknowingly bonding with a Death Eater.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban marks a turn within the series. The lighthearted and innocent tone apparent in the first two movies begins to fade. Darker themes and creatures, like the dementors, set this movie apart from the earlier films, making it a favorite for many. The Harry Potter movies knew how to grow with its audience, and that is exactly what this movie did. So, whether you’re refreshing your memory or wanting to relive some of your favorite moments, let’s take a look at some of the best moments from the third installment of the franchise.

10. Harry “Blows Up” is Aunt

One of the most memorable starts to the Harry Potter movies comes from the third installment. We can all feel Harry’s frustration whenever Marge keeps saying horrible things about his parents, but what follows is completely unexpected.

Out of anger, Harry unintentionally uses magic to inflate his Uncle's sister like a balloon. Not only does she increase in size, but she begins to float as if she were filled with helium. Unfortunately for her, she bounces through the opened doors and continues up and up into the sky.

This scene is hilarious and we get to see a different form of magic that we haven’t seen Harry use since the first movie. Witches and wizards are able to use magic without wands, but it is uncontrollable and usually only works when emotions are high. For Harry, that emotion is anger.

Even so, Marge deserved it and thankfully Harry doesn’t get in trouble for using magic by accident.

9. The Knight Bus

So far, we have only seen a few modes of transportation in the wizarding world, so getting to see a wizarding bus is pretty cool.

This double-decker bus, the Knight Bus, weaves its way through Little Winging and the surrounding area unseen. It uses magic to narrowly avoid collisions. For instance, in one scene, the bus uses magic to stretch vertically in size and squeeze between two other buses.

And boy, was Harry in for a bumpy ride. He somehow manages to leave with his nose and glasses intact. Any scene that introduces new aspects of the wizarding world is great, especially when done with a comedic twist.

8. Dementor Attacks Harry

The greatest thing you can fear is fear itself.

Dementors are introduced near the beginning of the movie. By now, we know a man named Sirius Black has escaped Azkaban, and the guards of Azkaban-- the dementors-- are after him. They board the Hogwarts Express in search of Black, but one comes across Harry instead.

The dementors feed on fear and souls. The dementor tries to suck out Harry’s soul but, lucky for him, they were in the same train compartment as the newest Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Remus Lupin. Lupin uses a spell to repel the dementor and save Harry.

Dementors are terrifying. They bring a much darker and heavier tone to the movies that didn’t exist in the first two. Their hunt for Black and Harry’s recurring encounters shows that there is more to fear in this world than just dark wizards.

7. Riding Buckbeak

We’ve been introduced to a few of the creatures in the wizarding world, like the house elves, but now we get to see more of the beautiful and fantastical beasts at Hogwarts.

Buckbeak is a Hippogriff, half bird and half horse. He is a proud creature that must be shown respect. During Harry’s first Care of Magical Beast class with Hagird, he meets Buckbeak.

After passing the hippogriff’s test of respect, Hagird decides this is a great time for Harry to ride the hippogriff. Hagrid sets Harry on Buckbeak’s back and he takes off. Harry, terrified at first, finally overcomes his fear when he sees the beauty of the castle and the lake from the sky.

This scene is magical. Riding on a magical creature over a school for magic is probably every potterhead’s dream. The beauty and freedom of the wizarding world that this moment holds makes it a favorite moment for many fans.

6. Learning Riddikulus

What would you do if you came face to face with your greatest fear? For many in the wizarding world, that is a possibility. Open the wrong wardrobe and you might just see your worst nightmare.

Boggarts are shape-shifters that will take on the form of its victim’s greatest fear. The only way to defeat this creature is by laughing at it, making Riddikulus the perfect spell to use against it. During Lupin’s Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson, he introduces the students to this creature and the spell.

Watching people’s fears become something they can laugh at is entertaining, until you come face to face with fear itself. That is exactly what happens when Harry faces the boggart and it becomes a dementor.

The most memorable moment in this scene is when Lupin steps in the way and his greatest fear is revealed-- the moon. This is a great moment of foreshadowing, since we later learn why he fears the moon so much.

5. Harry Pranks Malfoy

Everyone loves when a bully gets what they deserve.

While Draco and his friends are picking at Ron and Hermione, a snowball flies out of the tree line and smacks him in the face. Draco and his friends can’t find the culprit and begin to panic and scramble. Draco’s friends getting pantsed, pushed, and swung around by Harry under his invisibility cloak had us all dying of laughter.

This scene holds so much joy. Even later, during flashbacks, we see Harry recalling these moments, when he’s laughing with his friends. It's a beautiful moment that holds so much power, since one of the strongest themes in Harry Potter is friendship.

4. Dodging the Whomping Willow

We’ve already seen the damage the Whomping Willow can do to a car, so hopefully Harry and Hermione were good at dodgeball at their muggle schools.

After Ron is dragged into a hole by Sirius Black at the base of the deadly tree, Harry and Hermione have to dodge the moving branches in order to follow. They get hit and thrown around a few good times, but Hermione isn’t only book smart. She manages to get Harry into the hole and follow after, mostly unscathed.

This scene is action packed and suspenseful. We don’t know what is happening to Ron, and his friends might not be able to reach him in time because they are fighting a tree. This moment is one of the best because it also shows how intelligent magical objects can be.

3. Lupin’s Transformation

We’ve known something is slightly off about Lupin since the beginning. After all, no Defense Against the Dark Arts professor has been normal so far.

There were subtle nods to Lupin’s true identity throughout the film, and leave it to Hermione to connect the dots. Not only are we shown Lupin’s greatest fear, the moon, but Snape also teaches a lesson on werewolves.

It is kind of tragic, seeing someone Harry has grown close to transform into a beast that will kill him and his friends, if given the chance. Although we don’t feel betrayed, because it isn’t as if Lupin wants to hurt his students, it’s still heartbreaking. The transformation within itself looks agonizing, and is a bit more graphic compared to what we have seen so far in the earlier Harry Potter movies.

2. Harry and Hermione Go Back in Time

Throughout the film, someone has been watching over the trio, warning and helping them in certain scenes. At first, it seemed almost too convenient.

Just like there were hints about Lupin, there were also hints that Hermione was up to something. She would appear out of nowhere and was taking classes that had conflicting schedules. There’s no way for someone to be in two places at once, right?

As it turns out, it is possible with a time turner. Hermione was given one by McGonagall to attend more than one class at once, and Hermione uses it to go back in time. We watch as time rewinds around her and Harry. Then, as they follow their past selves, everything begins to make sense.

The complexity of time travel and the story in the third film makes it unique compared to the others, so of course it's one of the best scenes. You get to see the climax of the story twice, from two different points of views.

1. Harry Saves Himself

When all seems lost, who better to save you than yourself?

Harry is so sure that, when he and Sirius were close to death by the lake, his dad came to save them. He saw the stag on the shore, repelling the dementors. When Harry goes back in time, he watches the events unfold with baited breath, waiting for a hero.

When one never comes, he jumps to cast Expecto Patronum. The powerful wizard that saved himself and Sirius was Harry all along. He finds confidence and channels his happiest memory in the face of despair.

The second installment of the Harry Potter series is action packed and filled with amazing visuals for its time. So let’s take a ride down memory lane and look at some of our favorite scenes. From house elves, to killer trees, to giant serpents and spiders, this movie expands upon the wizarding world in an unforgettable way.

10. Harry Meets Dobby

For many, Harry included, finding a house elf in your bedroom would be pretty shocking, especially if it comes with an ominous warning.

At the very beginning of the film, Harry finds Dobby the House Elf jumping on his bed in his muggle family’s home. The elf gives him a warning not to return to Hogwarts, because he is in danger. Harry, however, would rather face whatever dangers lay ahead, because Hogwarts is his home.

Dobby isn’t going to let his warning go unheard. In order to force Harry to stay home, he uses magic to drop a cake on the Dursleys’ guest’s head, angering them.

This scene is a fan favorite, because we get to meet a beloved character, Dobby, for the first time, and watch a cake fall on someone, which is always satisfying. The interaction between Harry and Dobby while trying not to get caught by Uncle Vernon makes for an entertaining start to the second movie in the series.

9. Uncle Vernon Falls from Window

Well, if the Dursleys’ house didn’t feel like a prison before, it definitely does now.

After the cake incident, Uncle Vernon does what he can to ensure that Harry will never go back to Hogwarts. He attaches bars to Harry’s window, drilling them into the frame, in hopes that this will stop a wizard, but in comes the Weasleys to save the day.

Uncle Vernon grabs Harry’s leg while he is trying to escape from the window and into a flying car. This doesn’t end well for him, since when they take off, he falls out of the second story window and right into a bush.

This scene is both intense and hilarious. Seeing the Dursleys fail, or get a taste of their own medicine, is common at the start of most of the Harry Potter movies, but it never gets old. Watching Uncle Vernon fall, and knowing the only thing wounded is his pride, is one of the most memorable scenes from the movie.

8. Meeting the Weasleys

The Burrow, the Weasley family’s residence, is the definition of a magical home.

Throughout this scene, we are in awe right alongside Harry. The cramped, but cozy, home filled with enchanted items shows us how magic can be used for simple, everyday tasks. Then we get to meet the rest of Ron’s family.

So far, we’d caught a glimpse of them on platform 9 3/4 in the first film, but this time we get to see them as a whole. Their closeness, their concern, their fascinations. Molly and Arthur Weasley, Ron’s parents, happily welcome Harry into their home as if he is one of their own.

This scene is touching, because Harry finally gets to see what a loving family is like and they don’t hesitate to include him. All his life, he has dealt with looks of disdain and has felt outcasted. Staying with the Weasleys, he gets to experience what it is like to have a doting mother, an eccentric father, and mischievous brothers.

7. Ron Saves Harry

Ron always comes in clutch in the most unexpected ways.

While trying to make it to Hogwarts after being blocked on the platform (I wonder who could have done that?) Ron and Harry are nearly hit by the train while in their flying car. The car door flies open and Harry goes tumbling out, barely catching the door in time. Ron reaches out to save him while still steering the vehicle.

This scene is one of the best, because it is suspenseful. We are left wondering if Harry will fall to his doom or if he can find a way back inside the flying vehicle. Ron pulls him back in, saving Harry, who would have been fine if he had just worn his seatbelt.

6. The Whomping Willow

Rarely is it a smart idea to drive into a tree, and in this instance, it's even worse. At least in reality, the trees don’t fight back.

The Whomping Willow is a giant, magical tree that loves to smash anything that gets close to it. When trying to land the car, Harry and Ron end up crashing into the tree, and the tree isn’t very happy about this. Swinging its giant limbs, it does a great deal of damage to the car, but Harry and Ron manage to escape.

Magic can be whatever you make of it, and in this world, the author runs rampant with that idea. We’ve already glimpsed the dangers of the wizarding world, but who would have expected a tree? This scene is one of the best because, not only is it scary, it adds depth to the world and what lies within it.

5. Polyjuice Potion

Polyjuice potion doesn’t look too appetizing.

In order to get information out of Draco Malfoy about the heir of Slytherin, Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to infiltrate the Slytherin common room and trick Malfoy by posing as his friends. Unfortunately, the hair Hermione added to her potion was cat hair, so she could not participate.

That leaves Harry and Ron transforming into Crabbe and Goyle. The potion is disgusting, but their transformation is pretty cool.

Watching the transformation can be a bit unsettling, but the effects at the time the movie was released, back in 2002, are still pretty impressive. Seeing Harry’s skin bubble as his face morphs from his own to Goyle’s might make your stomach churn, but the awkward interactions that follow with Malfoy is worth it.

4. Harry is Shown the Past

The extent of what magic is capable of in the wizarding world is pretty impressive. Of course, we don’t know why Tom Riddle’s diary is able to do what it does until later on, which makes this entire scene fascinating and eerie.

Harry writes his name and a greeting in the diary he found in the bathroom Moaning Myrtle died in, not knowing that something would say hello back. At first, Tom Riddle seems like a random and unimportant character that we had never heard of, but we couldn’t be any more wrong.

Tom Riddle offers to show Harry the past, taking him back fifty years to when the chamber of secrets was opened last. Harry is shown the memory and learns why Hagrid was expelled from Hogwarts.

Getting to see the past, a younger Dumbledore, and learning the reason why Hagrid was expelled and isn’t allowed to use magic comes as a great shock. Who would have thought that the loveable, kind giant with a heart for monsters would open the chamber and allow people to die? Obviously, we trust Hagrid more than this “Tom Riddle”.

3. Following the Spiders

The lengths that Harry will go to protect his friends is admirable. Ron is just there to suffer along the way.

In order to prove Hagrid’s innocence, Harry and Ron “follow the spiders”, as per Hagrid’s instructions. They do so, and meet the acromantula that we see in the flashback Tom Riddle showed Harry. And boy, has it grown.

Aragog, Hagrid’s friend, was the one accused of harming the students the last time the chamber was opened and is the reason why Hagrid was expelled. We learn that Hagrid is innocent. Despite Harry and Ron being friends of Hagrid, Aragog’s children are hungry, and he won’t deny them a feast.

If you hate spiders, like Ron, this scene will leave your skin crawling for days. The muggle spiders are bad enough, but one the size of a bus? You won’t be forgetting that image any time soon, and that’s why this scene is so memorable, because it will haunt you.

2. The Basilisk Fight

Turns out, Tom Riddle wasn’t to be trusted after all. Oh, and he’s also the memory of Voldemort before he adopted his catchy dark wizard name.

Harry may have survived the killing curse, but can he survive a giant serpent? Well, we already know the answer to that, but that doesn’t mean this scene didn’t leave us screaming.

After fleeing the basilisk that is tracking Harry by sound, thanks to Fawkes blinding it, Harry has his final showdown with the monster standing on the head of Salazar Slytherin’s statue. He shoves the Sword of Gryffindor through the basilisk’s mouth, killing it.

This climactic scene far exceeds that of the previous movie, and Harry doesn’t even use magic. Instead, this twelve-year-old boy fights a giant serpent with a sword and prevails. Harry keeps defying the odds in order to save those he cares about.

1. Dobby is Given a Sock

Of course, we can’t forget about one of the most iconic scenes in the series, quoted by thousands.

Harry takes another risk and costs a powerful wizard, Lucius Malfoy, his house elf. Harry puts his sock in the diary and gives it to Lucius, accusing him of being the original owner. Annoyed, Lucius gives the diary to Dobby without really looking at it.

Inside the diary is a sock. House elves are freed when their master gives them an article of clothing, which Lucius unintentionally does. In a fit of rage, Lucius is about to cast a spell at Harry when Dobby steps in and defends him.

What started off as bickering and fighting between these two characters becomes a wholesome friendship in the end. Harry’s cleverness and quick thinking is impressive, and seeing how proud Dobby is of himself for defending Harry and taking down Lucius a notch makes us love him even more.

10. Dudley Falls Into Snake Enclosure

Everyone hates the Dursleys, so when Dudley falls into the snake enclosure, it feels like justice has been served. While Harry is making casual conversation with the python at the zoo, Dudley shoves him out of the way to get a better look at the reptile. Harry unintentionally uses magic, and the next thing Dudley knows he is the one in captivity.

This scene is so memorable, because not only do we get to see Harry use magic for the first time, we get a bit of foreshadowing and the Dursleys get a taste of their own medicine. Watching Dudley’s shocked face when he realizes the glass has reappeared and his parents screams of horror had us laughing with Harry.

This is the moment Dudley realizes he is trapped behind the glass, which had magically disappeared and then reappeared.

9. Hagrid Gives Dudley a Pig’s Tail

Hagrid might not be the best at spelling, but he knows something about poetic justice. In this scene, Hagrid catches Dudley devouring the cake that he made for Harry’s birthday. Already annoyed by the Durleys’ selfishness, he uses magic to give Dudley a pig’s tail.

Hagrid is one of the most lovable characters in the series. Seeing him come to Harry’s defense, when no one else had before, is one of the many reasons why we all love Hagrid. Let’s also not forget about the fact that Hagrid later tells Harry he isn’t even allowed to use magic, another bit of foreshadowing for the second movie.

8. Harry Goes to Diagon Alley

The moment Harry steps foot into Diagon Alley, astonishment lights up his face, a feeling we all felt our first time getting a glimpse of the wizarding world with him. Wizarding shops of all kinds line the crowded streets, packed full of “bits and bobs,” as Hagrid so elegantly describes. There are broom sticks, owls, potion pots, and more stuff than Harry can look at in one go.

This is our first time seeing any part of the wizarding world. Diagon Alley is the setting of a lot of scenes later in the movies and books, and it’s the place every fan dreams of going almost just as much as Hogwarts.

This is the moment Harry sees all the galleons his parents left for him at Gringotts Bank.

7. First Years Arriving at Hogwarts

It is tradition for the first years to take the boat from Hogsmeade Station to Hogwarts. They get to sail across the Blake Lake and see Hogwarts in all its glory.

In this scene, all the first years that have and haven’t been introduced yet are on their boats, led by Hagrid. Magic guides them across the water and to the castle standing high above them. The castle glows against the dark backdrop of night.

This moment is magical for so many reasons. For the characters, it’s their first time getting to see their new home, and for readers it’s their first time getting to see the castle they’ve read so much about.

6. McGonagall’s Transformation

McGonagall is stern, but she is one of the best teachers at Hogwarts. This scene doesn’t just add to the complexity of the wizarding world, but allows for a hilarious interaction.

Ron and Harry barge into the Transfiguration classroom, late for class, and they think they’ve got away with it, because McGonagall is nowhere in sight. Suddenly, the cat on McGonagall’s desk leaps off and turns into the Professor herself. Harry can only stare, jaw dropped, as she reprimands them.

Although we don’t quite get an explanation for what she is at first, animagus are important, especially in the third installment of the series. Also, getting to see McGonagall in action and the different forms of magic that exist in the wizarding world is always exciting.

5. Ron Defeats a Troll

From the beginning of the movie, Ron is portrayed as the character that’s not very good with magic. An especially challenging spell for him is Wingardium Leviosa, the levitation charm.

When a troll has mysteriously been let loose in the castle, Harry and Ron rush to find Hermione. The troll has made its way to the girls bathroom, where Hermione had been crying. She is attacked and Harry’s wand ends up in the troll’s nose. It is up to Ron, using the levitation charm, to save them.

Ron proves his bravery and capability during this scene. He comes through for the others and mends his relationship with Hermione after saying some hurtful words earlier on. This moment is pivotal, as it is the first time the trio fights together. In the face of danger, their friendship is born.

The troll, who was supposed to be in the dungeon, right before it is knocked out by its own club in the girls bathroom.

4. Harry Catches the Snitch

Quidditch takes all the stereotypical aspects of Witches and Wizards and makes an entire sport out of it.

During Harry’s first Quidditch match, he must fight off an experienced Seeker, dodge Bludgers, and try not to fall off a jinxed broomstick. Despite all the obstacles, the youngest Seeker in a century catches the snitch, albeit in an unconventional sort of way. He topples off his broom, after standing on it in midair, and swallows the golden snitch.

Shall I mention more foreshadowing?

Getting to see the Quidditch match is an exciting experience. There is so much action and tension that leaves us hanging onto the edge of our seats (brooms?) as Harry sores through the sky, which makes it one of the best scenes in the movie.

3. Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest

Everyone knows that the Forbidden Forest is, well, forbidden. But that doesn’t stop the teachers from sending students into these woods after they’ve broken the rules.

Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco Malfoy were all caught out of their rooms after hours, and McGonagall gave them detention. They serve it with Hagrid, who needs to venture into the forest to look for unicorns. After splitting up, putting rivals Harry and Malfoy together with Hagrid’s dog, Fang, they come across a terrifying scene.

This is the first time we get to see Voldemort, even if he is barely a shadow of his former self. He is found committing an atrocious act that shows how terrible he really is, since we had only heard about him through stories so far. This is the moment the trio realizes that Voldemort wasn’t killed.

2. Wizard’s Chess Battle

Wizards Chess, a barbaric form of muggle chess, is already violent enough. Now make the statues ten feet tall with deadly weapons and give them something to protect at all cost.

That is what Harry, Ron, and Hermione must face in order to stop the antagonist from stealing the philosopher’s stone. During the most epic battle in the movie, the trio faces off against these statues. Ron takes the lead here, doing everything he can to keep his friends alive while also winning the game.

This scene is creative, intense, and shows how valuable and brave each character is. During the trials to stop the thief, Harry, Ron, and Hermione all had their time to shine, but Ron’s is by far the best. Ron proves he is just as capable as his friends.

1. Harry Defeats Quirrell

Who would have expected that the thief was “poor, stuttering, Professor Quirrell”? Throughout most of the movie, the trio suspected the potions teacher, Professor Snape, whose demure was suspicious enough. Add on a few coincidences, and you’ve got yourself a villain.

Yet, it is Quirrell who stands before the Mirror of Erised, attempting to steal the stone. The stone is given only to one who doesn’t intend on using it, which is how it ends up in Harry’s pocket. Quirrell reveals himself to be a host for what remains of Voldemort and attacks Harry.

This scene is one of the best, because it is the first of many showdowns between Harry and the Dark Lord. It is another defeat for Voldemort at the hands of a child. It is also pretty dark for what is considered a movie for children since Harry, in his pursuit to stop Voldemort, ends up destroying Quirrell in the process.

Dinkum has a strong economy in place that enables players to trade goods they have mined, harvested, hunted, or made to John's Goods. Given the high demand for the special and distinctive items back in South City, John will purchase almost anything that players have to offer. But identifying the best products to sell in order to earn a decent living can take some time. Do not be alarmed; we have provided you with a selection of the best items to offer John in Dinkum.

10-Foragables

Foraging is a skill that allows the player to collect items that you can find as you explore the island all of which are collectively called foragables, and there are quite a lot of them that are common to find. Every day most foragables respawn so you can continue to collect items to sell. Some of these items, such as trees that drop wood and fruit trees, may be needed as a food source or for resources so it’s good to collect them and create a farm of trees.

What makes Foragables great for selling:

Every biome has different items you can forage, so no matter where you set your base or where you explore, you are bound to find some.
This includes sea shells, flowers, fruit trees, and the different trees and their seeds and wood.
Gum tree logs in particular are one type of wood forgeable that players can find without needing to chop the tree down. It sells for 100 Dinks per piece, and if you have a table saw to make Gum wood planks, the selling price increases to 150 Dinks.
Although most of these items only sell for a small amount of Dinks, they are good to sell when you’re first starting out.
Collecting these items also can contribute to permit points as you complete milestones and daily quests.

How to get Foragables:

Explore the island! The beach has seashells, various biomes have different types of trees and flowers, and the beach is where you can find fruit trees.

9-Buried Treasure

Buried Treasures can be found by digging in the ground with a Shovel. They spawn in Old Barrels, Wheelie Bins that look like yellow and green garbage cans, Car Relics found in the Deep Mine, and Satellites that players can find through an Investigation Task from the Bulletin Board.

What makes Buried Treasure great for selling:

The treasures are different kinds of electronic devices and components that typically can be used for crafting machines and other items but they are also great to sell as they range from a couple of hundred to thousands of Dinks. Items include hot cylinders, old gears, glass bulbs, and tin sheets.
Another component that is great to collect and sell is Shiny Discs. They can be sold to John for 1,480 Dinks, but if you wait until you meet Franklyn, the resident researcher, not only will he buy discs from you for 8,880 Dinks but he will also unlock technology for him to craft for you.
Amber Chunk is a large, yellowish chunk of amber that is a rare type of buried treasure that can be found while digging. To sell it, take it to John's Goods where John will weigh the Amber and offer a price based on its weight which ranges from 30,000 to 60,000 Dinks.

How to get Buried Treasure:

Treasures can be found randomly while digging into the ground or if Old Barrels and Wheelie Bins are sticking out of the ground while exploring.
Purchase the Level 1 Metal Detecting License from Fletch for 500 Permit Points to be able to buy the Metal Detector which costs 6,600 Dinks.
With the Level 2 Metal Detecting License, players can see a visual "X" on the ground.

8-Bugs

Bugs are collectible creatures that can be caught with a Bug Net. They actually have several uses and can be donated to Theodore in the Museum, sold to John at John's Goods, or given to Ted Selly for extra Dinks. They can be placed in a Bug Tank to be displayed around town or in your house or you could decide to let them out back to the wild.

What makes Bugs great for selling:

Some bugs appear year-round, while others only appear throughout a specific season. The most valuable bugs in Dinkum are the Emperor Dragonfly which sells for 4,172 Dinks, Birdwing Butterfly which sells for 4,100 Dinks, and Stag Beetle which also sells for 4,100 Dinks.
Bug Catching is a skill that allows the player to catch insects and arachnids that wander the island. This skill requires no Licenses. Reaching certain levels in this skill unlocks Crafting Table blueprints. The Bee House collects honey and the Worm Farm creates fertilizer every now and again.
Another perk to selling bugs or donating them to the Museum is that with every type of bug, Theodore gives 100 Permit Points each time.

How to get Bugs:

The first Bug Net is obtained from Fletch after the player places their Tent. Can be purchased from John's Goods. Buying Price Inv Dinks.png 1,100 This tool's durability is repairable in the Repair Table.
Bugs can be found throughout various Biomes; Pine Forest, Plains, Tropics, Desert, and Bushlands

7-Critters

Critters are collectible creatures that can be obtained by diving underwater. They can be donated to Theodore in the Museum, sold to John at John's Goods, or sold to Ted Selly for extra Dinks. Some can be found during specific seasons while others can be found during any season. Keep an eye on your stamina when diving underwater because it reduces and you can pass out of you have been swimming for too long.

What makes Critters great for selling:

There are over 19 critters to find, some of which can be easily seen and may be recognizable such as different kinds of crabs and prawns.
The most valuable critters in Dinkum are the Black Sea Cucumber which sells for 12,540 Dinks, Blue Sea Slug which also sells for 12,540 Dinks, and Eleven Armed Sea Star which sells for 8,540 Dinks.
Collecting and selling critters also adds to the Fishing Skill.

How to get Critters:

Critters can be found throughout bodies of water such as the Ocean, Rivers, Billabongs, and Mangroves.
With a Level 2 Fishing Licence, Critters will release a series of bubbles indicating where they are located underwater

6-Animals

In Dinkum, there are many different kinds of wild animals, farm animals, and those that are caught for the Museum collections. Animals can be captured, hunted, or kept for farming resources. Due to this, there are different ways to make some money with them!

What makes Animals great for selling:

Farm animals are great for selling because they produce great items you can sell. Chooks produce chicken eggs, Pleep produces wool, and Vombats produce milk.
Wild animals drop items upon death and besides using these items in crafting recipes they are also a good source of money, at least getting you several hundred Dinks.
A lot of animals can be trapped and sent off to the Animal Collection Point, which flies them to the animal research facility. Players are rewarded for this the next in-game day via mail as well as returning the trap.

How to get Animals:

Hunt animals with weapons and other tools.
Buy farm animals from Irwin's Barn.
The recipe to create the Animal Collection Point is learned by obtaining Trapping Licence 1.

5-Craftables

Craftables include food, tools, equipment, weapons, decorations, and more! Craft items at a Crafting Table or Cooking Table.

What makes Craftables great for selling:

There are many kinds of craftable items that players can create and sell to John’s Goods, some of which use a few ingredients and others which use many but all are worth it considering how much you will get for it.
It’s a great way to get rid of items that you may no longer have any use for such as tools that you may have outgrown.
If you have too many of certain items or duplicates such as several pieces of the same clothing or furniture, why not empty some space and earn money at the same time

How to get Craftables:

Simply craft them with the resources you have.
Another way is to find them or get them from NPCs as a gift or reward.

4-Fish

Fish are collectible creatures that can be caught with a Fishing Rod. Fish can be found throughout various water Biomes such as the Ocean, Rivers, Billabong, and Mangroves.

They can be donated to Theodore in the Museum, sold to John at John's Goods, sold to Ted Selly for extra Dinks, or be placed on the ground placed as a piece of furniture. Fish can be cooked on the Campfire and BBQ. Depending on the type of fish it will produce either Cooked Freshwater Fish or Cooked Saltwater Fish. The amount of cooked items received will vary depending on the value of the fish.

What makes Fish great for selling:

There are over 30 varieties of fish that are found in each season, with some found in all the seasons. This is great because you can go fishing anytime and be able to catch some.
The most valuable fish in Dinkum is the Yellowfin Tuna which sells for 24,600 Dinks, Marlin which sells for 20,200 Dinks, Deep Fish which sells for 15,976 Dinks, and the Barracuda which sells for 16,000 Dinks.
Collecting and selling fish also adds to the Fishing Skill as well as giving you an increase in Permit Points with every fish donation to the museum.

How to get Fish:

Buy a fishing rod from John’s Goods for 1,260 Dinks.

3-Ores

Mining is a skill that allows the player to collect valuable resources for crafting such as ores. These ores are found all over the island, typically in clusters around rock formations. They can be mined after the Level 1 Mining License has been purchased for 250 Permit Points. Then you are able to purchase a Basic Pickaxe from John's for 1,200.

What makes Ores great for selling:

Tin ore sells for 25 Dinks, Copper ore sells for 50 Dinks, Iron ore sells for 100 Dinks, and Quartz crystal sells for 200 Dinks.
You can make more money if you smelt the ores to form bars that sell for a lot more than the ores themselves. Tin bars sell for 500 Dinks, Copper bars sell for 1,00 Dinks, and Iron bars.

How to get Ores:

Explore the island and find rock formations with ore pieces sticking out, or by grinding shiny stones in a stone grinder.
Use a pickaxe to harvest the ore deposits. You can get a Jack Hammer from Franklyn to mine quickly.
When the player unlocks the Deep Mining Licence they will be able to descend into the Deep Mine for a large abundance of resources.

2-Rare Stones

Rare stones are just that, stones that are pretty rare to find. So it’s a lucky day when you find them and it’s best to make sure you save it to sell!

What makes Rare Stones great for selling:

The Amber Chunk is a large, yellowish chunk of amber. It is one of the items that is too big to fit into the inventory so it can only be picked up and carried or placed onto a vehicle for transport. Players sell it on John’s Goods scale and it ranges from 30,000 to 60,000 Dinks.
Rubies can be found in the Deep Mine. Like ore, they are found in mineable rocks, sticking out of it. It is another item that has to be carried or placed onto a vehicle for transport. The player can place the ruby onto the scale in John's Goods where John will then weigh the ruby and offer a price based on its weight. Its base Selling Price ranges between 30,000 to 99,000 Dinks.
Rocks can be found with an Opal sticking out of them. Players have a higher chance to find an opal depending on their Mining license level. Their base Selling Price is 15,000 Dinks
Thunderstones mark their arrival with a loud crack of thunder, indicating one fell nearby your character. A good thing about them is that they don’t disappear once they spawn, though do note that Thunder Eggs can only spawn in Summer & Autumn. Thunder Eggs can be sold on the scale at John's Goods or Jimmy's Boat. They can also be broken open to obtain 4 Opals. Its base Selling Price ranges between 33,000 to 99,000 Dinks.

How to get Rare Stones:

These stones are found through mining both above ground and underground in the Deep Mines.
Amber can be found while digging.
Thunder Eggs randomly spawn during a Thunder Storm.
Opals can be found in Thunder Eggs, chests in locked treasure rooms in the Deep Mines, and rarely in Shiny Stones.

1-Fossils

Described as the remains of something very old, fossils are rare items that players can discover and sell for a lot of money. This is another heavy item that cannot be placed in the inventory so it has to be carried to John’s Goods. Sell it by putting it on the scale and finding out its weight.

What makes Fossils great for selling:

It's one of the rarest items and sells for 10,000 to 30,000 Dinks.
Since it is sourced from mining, it will contribute to leveling up the Mining license as well as providing players with Permit points for completing milestones, tasks, and requests.

How to get Fossils:

They can be randomly found by breaking stone rocks or stone walls in the Deep Mine.

In Pokemon Sun and Moon (and Ultra versions) Rotom is introduced as your Pokedex and guide during the duration of your Island Challenges. And since Rotom can have 5 different forms and types (6 is you're counting it's base form), it's a very useful Pokemon to have on your team.

Levitate: Immune to Ground moves

Can take 5 different forms depending on what items it's exposed to
Each item changes Rotom’s Typing; Grass, Water, Ice, Flying, and Fire (with Electric type)

Rotom can be found in the Coronet Highlands around Sacred Plaza, Stonetooth Rows, and the Primal Grotto. It’s not hard to catch, but when it spawns, you’ll be hypnotized by Rotom’s erratic behavior. The items to get Rotom to change forms can be bought from the Ginkgo Guild in Jubilife Villiage.

9) Magneton

Magneton has three eyes...

Type: Electric/Steel

Magneton was the final evolution for Magnemite back in Generation III. This MAG-nificent Pokemon will really PULL you in with its stats. Its Special Attack is enough to make any offensive player intrigued. On top of a well balanced Defense and Speed stat. Magneton does have a high weakness to Ground type moves, but makes up for that since the majority of Pokemon types aren't effective against it.

Unfortunately you won’t see Magneton floating around any of the locations in PLA, but in the Cobalt Coastlands, Magneton will spawn during Space-Time Distortions that happen throughout this map.

8) Raichu

This Alpha Raichu better not attack, or its trainer is toast.

Type: Electric

When I finally caught Pikachu, I felt like I had just caught a legendary pokemon. Being a naive trainer, I never wanted to give it a Thunderstone. A foolish thought! Raichu has serious power! Not to mention top level Speed. Raichu, even at spot number eight, always holds a special place on my team. We even got to see Raichu as a Psychic type back on Pokemon Sun and Moon. This might not have been everyone's favorite addition to Raichu's original form, but nonetheless, it was a pretty neat type combo.

One weakness, Ground Type

Raichu will appear during Space-Time Distortions in the Alabaster Icelands. Also, you can find an Alpha Raichu at the northernmost part of the Golden Lowlands of the Crimson Mirelands.

7) Electabuzz

You've found a wild Electabuzz!

Special Defense: 85
Speed: 105

Type: Electric

Electabuzz meets us at spot number seven. Electabuzz is a solid Electric Pokemon. It has well balanced stats, and with Ground type being its only true weakness, Electabuzz can take on most Pokemon. Also, Electabuzz is yet another example of a classic Pokemon who was given another evolutionary form. But we'll get to that later.

Head to the Alabaster Icelands. This map will be flooded with Electabuzz. IF you head to Icebound falls, you’ll be sure to head into an Alpha Electabuzz. Otherwise, there are plenty to catch by roaming the entire map. In the Coronet Highlands, Electabuzz will be hanging out with an Alpha Electivire outside the entrance to Mt. Coronet.

6) Hisuian Electrode

I wish Electrode would just smile for once.

Special Attack: 80
Defense: 70
Special Defense: 80
Speed: 150

Type: Electric/Grass

Other than Rotom and its “Mow" form, Hisuian Electrode is the only released Grass/Electric type to date. This unique combination opens the door for new weaknesses. But now, having Electric and Grass types, Ground moves won't be as effective. This interesting new type combo definitely gives you a way to cover all your bases in terms of how you choose your partner Pokemon.

You can find Hisuian Voltorb scattered around the Sacred Plaza in the Coronet Highlands and evolve to Electrode using, of all things, a Leaf Stone.

5) Luxray

Luxray is trying to intimidate you. Is it working?

Type: Electric

Luxray, at spot number five shouldn't be all that surprising. Luxray has amazing stats, and can be an incredibly tough Pokemon to face if you don't have a Pokemon that knows any Ground type moves to defeat it. Right from the start of the game you can catch Shinx, Luxray's first form. And something about this electrical lion looking feline says strong, yet graceful and above the rest.

An Alpha Luxray can be caught in the Coronet Highlands near Sacred Plaza. You can also head to the Coronet Highlands and right at the beginning of the first base camp, there'll be many at Heavenward Lookout, a few along Sonorus Path, and Cloudcap Pass. There are even some around the Obsidian Fields. Especially at Lake Verity. And when I say some, I mean you'd have to be playing blind to not find one lurking around.

4) Jolteon

Jolteon is focusing all its power into a strategic, Agile Style move.

Type: Electric

Jolteon's frightening Speed and Special Attack lands it at spot number four. Jolteon, evolved from Eevee using a Thunderstone, is a crowd favorite for many Pokefans. Don't let its cute disposition and size fool you. Jolteon doesn't go down easily if you don't have a good matchup in battle. Jolteon has a great Special Defense stat. And with Ground type moves being its main weakness, it only makes sense since a lot of ground moves are Special Attacks.

High Speed stat will almost ensure Jolteon goes first on battle
STAB attacks will have great power, and should be used to hit hard and possibly paralyze tough opponents
Volt Absorb: ability will absorb Electric type moves and heal users HP by ¼… including electric moves that don't deal damage like Thunder Wave

Catch yourself an Eevee right in the beginning of the game at the Obsidian Fields in Horseshoe Plains and evolve with a Thunderstone to get Jolteon. Jolteon also will appear in Space-Time Distortions if you don't want to raise an Eevee. But who doesn't want a cute little Eevee on their team?

3) Magnezone

Psssst, look at this Magnezone and its trainer. I think they're having a pep talk.

Type: Electric/Steel

Though slower than most Electric types we've read about already, having an Electric and Steel type Pokemon can give you a leg up against several different Pokemon. However, being a Steel type also adds some more weaknesses to the table as well. Magnezone was introduced to Pokemon in the original Diamond and Pearl games for Gen IV. So it's only fitting in the savage days of the Hisui Region, that you can find and raise Magnezone.

Teaching it Steel and Electric moves will make Magnezone and heavier hitter thanks to the STAB advantage
11/18 move types aren’t very effective on Magneton

Magnezone evolves by using a Thunderstone, (only in PLA,) or by leveling up Magneton in the Coronet Highlands. While at the Coronet Highlands, you will also see Magnezone flying around between Celestic Trail, Clamberclaw Cliffs, and Fabled Spring. Craft a Feather ball, Jet, or Wing ball to have a chance in catching it while he's flying. Don't forget, if you're in a Space-Time Distortion in the Cobalt Coastlands, Magnezone might appear.

2) Electivire

Way to dodge that attack from Electivire! I'm shocked!

Type: Electric

Electivire is special since he seems to be a very physically built pokemon. Electivive falls into the same category as our other Gen IV Pokemon in the sense it was an added evolution to Electabuzz. But they hit it with a stacked, well balanced stat line up. Yeah, his Defense is its lowest stat. But in my opinion, if you hit first, everything should run smoothly.

Motor Drive: books speed after being hit by an Electric type move, and takes no damage.
Move pool is very versatile and can learn Ice Punch to help combat its weakness to Ground type Pokemon.
Since Electivire is a physically driven pokemon, teach contact electric movements to deal heavy damage.

Catch the Alpha Electivire at My. Coronet in the Coronet Highlands. In the Alabaster Highlands, you can also encounter Electivire in a Space-Time Distortion. But if you have an Electabuzz, you can evolve it into Electivire by giving it an Electirizer and have him hold it while you level him up.

1) Thundurus (Therian*)

Type: Electric/Flying

Thundurus Therian form included, take the number one spot. This sucker is quick. Slightly predictable, but if you don’t have a plan when you're trying to catch it, it’ll be tough. You have to finish the main story and then unlock the quest "Incarnate Forces of Hisui." This was one of the first tasks I actually hated doing. But it's so rewarding when you've completed it. (Spoiler: catching Thundurus does not complete the quest alone.)

Depending on which form you're battling in, either way, Thundurus has stacked stats.
In his Therian form, Special Attack power is a wapping 145! Ensure the move set also compliments its Electric and Flying types.
Using the Reveal Glass, Thundurus will transform into its Therian form.

Thundurus is but one Pokemon you have to capture while completing the quest, "Incarnate Forces of Hisui". Swim out past Sand's Reach between Lunker's Lair in the Cobalt Coastlands. Keep in mind, you can't find him as soon as you're given the quest. Thundurus can only appear during a thunderstorm. (Check your map, the weather icon should be a rain cloud with a thunderbolt). It will be a brutal batter so be sure to save your game before battling Thundurus.
