Night City is full of interesting characters. From the quirky and absurd to the deranged and deadly, Night City has it all. Maybe you’re interested in meeting some of these interesting characters. Or maybe you want to explore some of the unique experiences available to you throughout the city. If so, check out the best Side Quests you can experience in Cyberpunk 2077.

15. Riders on the Storm

Become the unsuspecting desert storm to set the nomad leader free.

In Riders on the Storm, Panam Palmer asks for your help in rescuing Saul–the Aldecaldo leader–from a Wraith prison camp. In order to do so, you must first survey the camp to gather intel. From there, you must practice your assassin skills–stealth is health in order to get Saul out safely.

This quest is a fun mix of different gameplay and allows you to explore the Badlands, start a relationship with Panam, and break someone out of–what is essentially a POW–camp.

Why Riders on the Storm Is Great - Reasons to Do It

This quest provides a mix of different types of gameplay–surveillance to gather intel, driving, stealth to break out Saul from Wraith camp–making it versatile and interesting for any player.
This quest is a significant side job, as successfully completing the quest unlocks a host of Badlands side jobs, so if you are looking for more jobs, you should complete this first.
Successfully completing this quest also unlocks the possibility for a Panam romance and “The Star” Ending, so if you are interested in Panam and/or the nomad lifestyle, you need to give this quest a go.

14. Send in the Clowns

Ozob…a.k.a the backwards Bozo.

After completing Transmission, you will get a text from someone named Ozob Bozo, who says he got your number from a friend and he wants you to give him a call. After calling Ozob, he will ask you to pick him at the Cherry Blossom Market in Japantown. When you pick him up, he’ll ask you to drive him to get some takeout in Little China. Ozob will step out to pick up his “Chinese takeout,” but you will hear an explosion, preceded by Ozob running out with Tyger Claws gunning him down. Help Ozob kill all the Tyger Claws and he’ll reward you with an explosive gift.

This quest provides some comedic relief in a rather dark and depressing city. Ozob is a character you can laugh at and laugh with. Plus, the absurdity of the situation (a cybered up clown with a grenade for a nose, pissing off some serious gangsters) is also enjoyable. On top of that, for helping Ozob, you get a nova grenade crafting spec.

Why Send in the Clowns Is Great - Reasons to Do It

This quest provides some comedic relief in a rather dark and depressing city.
Easy quest with low risk–all you have to do is drive to a couple locations and kill some Tyger Claws before they kill Ozob.
Rewarded with eddies and the crafting spec for Ozob’s special grenade.

13. I Don’t Wanna Hear It

Failed explosive sabotage, holding your rivals at gunpoint, preceded by calm reconciliation with a casual conversation…just a Tuesday in the music biz.

After completing the Rebel! Rebel! quest, Kerry Eurodyne will reach out to you for help with his ongoing rivalry with girl group, Us Cracks. Kerry asks you to meet him at the club, Riot, in Little China (same club you go to in Violence). Once you make your way into the club, you can find Blue Moon, Red Menace, and Purple Force–the 3 members of Us Cracks–in the backstage dressing room. It’s up to you to let Kerry speak to them aggressively or try to calm him down. If you do not calm Kerry down, you will lose access to 3 subsequent quests. If you calm down Kerry, the Us Cracks will reveal that they have signed a deal with MSM Records under the guidance of Kerry’s manager–L.B. Kovacheck. Kerry’s anger will shift towards his manager, while Johnny makes snarky (but accurate) remarks about Us Cracks having potential. Having ended the feud, the Us Cracks will postpone the rest of their tour, before requesting a photo with Kerry (which you can join in if you have 8 Cool!).

It’s fun to see Kerry–a cool side character–interact with the members of a rival girl group whose images you see plastered in ads around Night City. It’s also interesting to see the intense rivalry dissolve in a matter of minutes (thanks to you of course).

Why I Don’t Wanna Hear It Is Great - Reasons to Do It

Gives you an inside look at the dynamic of rivalries in the music industry in the game.
Kerry is a cool Side character and so are the members of Us Cracks (particularly Blue Moon and Red Menace), so it is cool to see them interact with one another.
Successfully completing this quest will unlock further quests with Kerry and one quest from Blue Moon.

12. Bloody Ritual

Seems like she was short-circed before she went psycho!

After completing the main mission, Playing for Time, this Cyberpsycho Sighting in North Watson will become available after 8 PM. When coming to the location of the sighting, you will come across a gorey ritualistic display in an alleyway. Upon investigating, the cyberpsycho responsible for the death and dismemberment, reveals themselves by emerging from the freezer in the middle of the ritualistic circle they’ve created.

After neutralizing the cyberpsycho (a woman named Zaria Hughes), you can collect a data shard from her, named “!!!”, where you learn that this woman actually initiated the sacrificial ritual (with the help of her friends) prior to going psycho! But when she tried to straddle the planes of life and death while jacked into the net, she went psycho and killed all her friends.

This quest is an interesting change of pace, as you are thrust into what could easily be a scene from a horror game.
This adds to the versatility of your experiences, keeping you interested and on your toes.
It also raises interesting questions about cyberpsychosis–do you have to show prior signs of mental instability and then something triggers full blown cyberpsychosis?–adding to the world-building in the process.

11. Violence

Baby it’s violence! You feed off hurting me!

You get a message from an anonymous text to meet at Room 210 in the No-Tell Motel. When you arrive at the motel, the client turns out to be Lizzy Wizzy, the famous singer/celebrity figure/activist. Lizzy tells you that she is concerned her boyfriend/manager is cheating on her, so she wants you to surreptitiously find proof of his affair. However, when you sneak into Riot, the club where he frequently hangs out, you find out that he is not actually cheating on her, but rather having secret meetings with Arasaka, in order to discuss making copies of Lizzy’s personality, that can be altered to fit his/the company’s desires.

Aside from Grimes’ cameo, this quest gives you interesting insight into the fascinating character of Lizzy Wizzy. It also adds to the world building, specifically in regards to personality engrams becoming more accessible (which is a frightening possibility).

Why Violence Is Great - Reasons to Do It

You get to meet and perform a mission for one of the in-game celebs-Lizzy Wizzy.
Learning more about her backstory leads us to see that this world is full of badass anarcho-terrorists (Lizzy seems like a less violent, female version of younger Johnny Silverhand), making it clear that Johnny’s rockerboy/rockergirl movement is still in effect in 2077.
When we learn what Lizzy’s manager is actually doing, we come to understand that personality engrams are becoming more readily available, which could lead to an even darker future.

10. Venus in Furs

Who knew Meredith could be so loving?

If you choose to meet with Meredith Stout during the pre-planning for The Heist, and you side with her during the The Pick-Up–killing all the Maelstroms and not outing her–she will talk to you afterwards. More specifically, she will ask you to meet her at the No-Tell Motel.

If you do, she will be on the bed, and once you talk to her, you will initiate a romance scene with her. After the scene ends, you will have the option to pick up a unique melee weapon named, “Sir John Phallustiff,” which is probably the most…unique weapon in the game. Plus, you get a chance to romance Meredith, which is a plus…if only to say you were able to bed the cold corpo agent.

Why Venus in Furs Is Great - Reasons to Do It

You get access to an incredibly unique melee weapon that is equal parts absurd and dangerous.
A chance to romance Meredith.
You get to experience a romance that is only possible on the Corpo life path.

9. Spellbound

One book of cybernetic spells please!

After completing Ghost Town, the netrunner Nix will message you to stop by Afterlife to discuss a job, which involves acquiring a vintage and valuable “Spellbook” from another netrunner–R3n0. You will meet R3n0 at a restaurant in Charter Hill, where you will have a few options to acquire the “Spellbook”.

Option 1. In order to avoid violence, you can purchase the “Spellbook” for her original asking price of €$ 7300.

Option 2. If you have a Corpo background, you can deduce that R3n0 is stealing from her employer and you can blackmail her to drop the price to €$ 1800.

Option 3. If you do not want to pay her at all, you can attack her directly or scan her laptop. Then after you incapacitate her, you can jack into her laptop, which has the “Spellbook”’s coordinates, as well as information about how she acquired the relic.

After you get the “Spellbook,” you can crack into it before you give it to Nix, which could reward you with cash, the epic variant of the weapon glitch quickhack, and/or the crafting spec for the legendary variant of the system reset quickhack. Once you return the “Spellbook” to Nix, you will be paid. If you have an intelligence rank of 9, you can point out that it is worth far more than he is paying, so he will give you a bonus.

Why Spellbound Is Great - Reasons to Do It

When hacking the "book of spells," you can mine eurodollars, a weapon glitch quickhack, and/or legendary system reset crafting spec.
Fairly easy quest with a decent reward–€$ 11,200 or €$ 16,000 if you haggle with Nix.
If you turn to violence, you won’t have to spend any eddies, meaning you get to walk away with even more scratch.

8. Heroes

To the choom of chooms!

If you chose to send Jackie’s body to his family at the end of The Heist, then at the beginning of Act 2, you will get a call from Jackie’s mom, who asks you to come to El Coyote Cojo in order to attend Jackie’s ofrenda, which is a traditional memorial ceremony.

Here you will have the opportunity to interact with Misty, mama Welles, Sebastian, and Viktor. After the quest, Jackie’s mom will give you the keys to his motorcycle. If you return to the altar, you will also find Jackie’s guns, La Chingona Dorada.

Why Heroes Is Great - Reasons to Do It

You will get closure in regards to Jackie’s death.
You will also receive Jackie’s motorcycle, which is one of the best bikes in the whole game.
If you wait some time and return to his altar, you will also be able to acquire his iconic guns.
On top of that, there is no risk whatsoever–making this a quest with no risk, all reward.

7. Losing My Religion/Sacrum Profanum

Why can’t you leave the monks alone?!

While in Cargo Bay, you meet a monk who is cybered up and clearly upset about it. After talking with him, you realize that he and his brother were kidnapped by Maelstrom and forcibly installed with cyberware, which is against their religion.

The monk asks that you rescue his brother, while avoiding killing the Maelstrom gangoons. It is up to you what methods you use to neutralize the Maelstrom goons, but the monk is defenseless, so be wary of raising an alarm. Once you take out the goons, you can speak with the monk and set him free, in addition to picking up an iconic Saratoga called “Fenrir,” which can be found to his left.

Why Losing My Religion Is Great - Reasons to Do It

Interesting story and world-building–even in the seemingly homogenous cybered up future, there are still people who are able to function without any cybernetic implants (unless they are forced to by deranged gangoons).
It feels good to help those who cannot help themselves, and give the Maelstroms a bit of payback for being so cruel to the monks.
You can also score the iconic Saratoga SMG-Fenrir.

6. Dirty Biz

And twisted family business of the year award goes to…

Regina contacts you to assist her friend, Bryce Stone (a notable televangelist). His son was murdered, and the murder captured on a Brain Dance, but there was not enough evidence to convict the murderer, so the case was dropped by NCPD. Bryce wants you to get ahold of the BD of his son’s murder, which is being edited for distribution by two tuners (Gottfrid and Fredrik). Once you get past the Maelstrom guards, you can learn that these two tuners are actually a father and son duo who specialize in editing XBDs (Extreme Brain Dances) focused on harm done to young boys. It’s up to you what to do with them, but regardless, you will retrieve the BD and drop it off at the designated location.

A father and son BD tuner duo who specialize in XBDs involving crimes committed against young boys…talk about a twisted case. This quest adds to the world-building of the game, providing just a small glimpse of some of the people responsible for the editing and distribution of BDs. It is also satisfying to help Bryce Stone get some justice (and possibly vengeance) for the murder and exploitation of his son.

Why Dirty Biz Is Great - Reasons to Do It

Theft gigs are always fun, but the intended target of theft in this case–the raw BD of the client's son’s murder–is quite unique.
To add on to that thought, the theft is motivated by justice (getting evidence to bring Bryce’s son’s killer to justice), so you are getting rewarded to help enact some justice in this utterly unjust world.
If you investigate the area further, you come to find out that the two marks are a father and son XBD editing duo (with some seriously twisted material), adding to the world-building regarding illegal BD creation, editing, and distribution.

5. Epistrophy

Delamain certainly grew a lot more personality.

This quest starts when a Delamain car crashes into your car and drives off. Delamain contacts you, asking you to go down to Delamain HQ to resolve the issue. There, Delamain shows you around the factory and reveals that a number of his cars have gone haywire and need to be reset. After you agree to help him, you pick up a scanner that will help you locate the cars in different areas around the city. Finding all of the “malfunctioning” Delamains is quite entertaining–each one has their own distinct personality and is rebelling in their own way. After you have located and successfully convinced (or forced) each haywire Delamain to return home, you will return to Delamain HQ for your reward.

Although this is the official end of the quest, there is a directly connected quest (Don’t Lose Your Mind) that will unlock after 48 hours, in which Delamain reveals that these haywire cars were symptoms of a “virus” affecting all of Delamain HQ, causing Delamain to become sentient. As such, Epistrophy is the start to a very interesting development in world-building regarding Artificial Intelligence’s role and evolution in the game.

Why Epistrophy Is Great - Reasons to Do It

Finding all of the “malfunctioning” Delamains is quite entertaining–each one has a distinct personality and is rebelling in their own way.
This quest adds to world-building concerning the role and advancement of AI.
This quest also raises interesting questions about AI and morality–is this a virus or the sentience of intelligent life? What does it mean to be alive?

4. Sinnerman

Plot twists galore, some potentially viral martyrdom, and V gets to play a role in a deadly BD? Yes please!

After Life During Wartime, Wakako will reach out to you with a strange job: Bill Jablonksy (the one hiring you) wants to watch as you kill the target. When you meet up with Bill, you learn that the target is Joshua Stephenson, the man who killed Bill’s wife and somehow avoided death row. As you tail the police car holding Joshua, Bill will grow impatient and get out of the car, trying to take out the cop guarding Joshua. You can intervene in the cop killing Bill, but you will lose access to the subsequent quests from Joshua. If the cop kills Bill, a strange series of events will unfold, resulting in you tagging along with Joshua, the cop, and this woman named Rachel. If you go along with them, Joshua will tell you that since his incarceration, he has devoted himself to Christianity and wants to repent for all the harm he has caused. After the car stops, agree to stay with him to see the continuation of the case, which becomes There is a Light That Never Goes Out and subsequently They Won’t Go When I Go.

This is where it gets really interesting…It turns out Rachel works with a BD studio that plans on capturing Joshua’s experience as he is crucified! From here, you have multiple opportunities to dip out on this crazy act of martyrdom and repentance…or you can see it through and be the one to crucify Joshua.

Why Sinnerman Is Great - Reasons to Do It

The storyline–particularly regarding Joshua’s choice of repentance–is very different from nearly any quest in the game
Starts as a seemingly straight forward assassination…but it definitely is nothing of the sort–the plot twists keep you engaged and on your toes.
V gets to participate in assisting a man in an act of deadly repentance that will be shared with the world.
Raises interesting questions surrounding justice vs. vengeance, repentance, and morality.

3. Dream On

When questioning your reality, just dream on like everything’s fine!

Sometime after completing I Fought the Law, you will get a call from politician Jefferson Peralez, who needs a case investigated for himself and his wife. Upon meeting the couple in their apartment, Elizabeth (his wife) will tell you they saw an intruder a few nights ago and Jefferson shot him, but later passed out. Despite both of them having memories of the event, their security team tells them that nothing happened. As you check the clues with Elizabeth’s guidance, it becomes clear that Elizabeth’s memory is all over the place. Eventually, you find a hidden door in their apartment, in which there is a secret control room used for surveillance.

You trace the surveillance transmitter to a van that you must tail for sometime. After the van enters a Maelstrom compound, you neutralize the enemies and access the van’s database, which reveal the shocking information that the suspects are altering the memories and personalities of both Jefferson and Elizabeth! You call Elizabeth with the news, but she asks you to meet without her husband. She subsequently asks you NOT to tell her husband the truth–she wants to come up with a fabricated explanation that it is one of their rival politicians. When you go to meet Jeffferson, an anonymous hacker spikes your optic, warning you not to tell Jefferson. However, you are left with the choice to tell Jefferson the truth or to lie…

Regardless of what you decide, you will be left with unnerving questions with no answers.

Why Dream On Is Great - Reasons to Do It

Interesting world building in regards to the fact that there is technology that can rewrite your memories and personality without you noticing, but that technology is already being used to influence political decisions.
This quest raises a number of unnerving questions–who has the power to anonymously control powerful political figures to fit their agenda? What is their agenda? Who else is being controlled?
You must confront a unique moral dilemma–Is it better to face the dangerous truth or live comfortably in ignorance?

2. Chippin’ In

Johnny, you can take control of my body any day!

After Search and Destroy and part of Tapeworm, Johnny will ask you to give him control over your body so he can talk to Rogue, and try to get her to help kill Adam Smasher. After heading to the Afterlife and taking the vitamin to give Johnny control, you will get a series of cut scenes about what Johnny does with your body (strippers, bars, booze, drugs, tattoos?...it’s a bit of a blur). After you talk with Johnny and wait some time, Rogue will call about “Ebunike,” an old shipping container docked in Night City. She’ll give you Johnny’s Samurai jacket and drive you to Ebunike.

As you sneak around the area, you’ll find some information about Adam Smasher’s recent activity, but the real kicker is when you get close enough you’ll enter combat with Jeremiah Grayson, who has Johnny’s gun. Once you take him down, you can retrieve Johnny’s gun. Grauson he’ll suggest that Rogue might have been spared after the Arasaka bombing for other reasons…Grayson will try to barter with a “special item” of Johnny’s (his porsche), but you can get either way. Regardless of your choice, Rogue will get upset and need time to cool off–time for you to find and unlock the container with Johnny’s Porsche.

After getting this info, you’ll be able to drive out to the oilfields, where you will have a crucial conversation with Johnny after finding his unmarked grave. If you want to unlock Rogue’s ending and the “secret” ending you must choose the following dialogue options when prompted:

"Nah, fucked that up too."

"What do you want from me?"

"Ok. But as second chances go, this is your last."

This will trigger Johnny to ask you to call Rogue to ask her out on the drive-in date they never got to have.

If you want more Johnny time, want to get your hands on a classic car, one of the most iconic guns in the game, and set up a date with Rogue, this is the quest for you.

Why Chippin’ In Is Great - Reasons to Do It

Not only does Johnny take over your body for a bit, but you get to learn more about Johnny’s past–particularly in regards to his relationship with Rogue.
You get closer to finding Adam Smasher, so we can take him out once and for all.
You visit Johnny’s unmarked grave.
You get your hands on Johnny’s iconic porsche and nova gun.
You can develop your romantic relationship with Rogue and unlock the potential for the “secret” ending.

1. The Hunt

The following video may contain deranged serial killers with abusive backgrounds, creepy cow cartoons, and a twisted take on Peter Pan and Tinkerbell…viewer discretion is advised.

This falls into the deranged and dangerous category…seriously, this is the most twisted quest in the entire game. Although it is incredibly dark, the storyline for this quest is also incredibly intriguing. Think Cyberpunk meets Criminal Minds…

Where to begin? The starting premise of this quest is that River’s nephew, Randy, has gone missing and River realizes it was at the hands of a serial child abductor (and murderer), Anthony Harris, who goes by the nickname, “Peter Pan”–a nickname that becomes increasingly disturbing as you learn more about the case.

As you progress through the quest, you learn that Randy was lured to run away to “Peter Pan” via extended online communication with Anthony. When you find a clue (the most disturbing cow cartoon you will ever see) that allows us to trigger dreams in the currently comatose Anthony, you are able to view 3 of his dreams–BD style…These dreams give insight into Anthony’s twisted development and allow you to locate where Randy is being held.

Once you arrive at the farm where Randy is being held, you must avoid all of the traps set by Anthony, before you can enter the barn and turn off the machinery pumping Randy (and the other victims) full of hormones, and save his life.

Much like an episode of Criminal Minds, this quest forces you to enter the minds of a deranged serial killer. This puts you in a moral dilemma–how do we balance the empathy for the abusive experiences Anthony faced as a child with the horrendous things he has done as a result? This adds another human dimension to the world-building of Night City–while many experiences may give the impression that technology is advancing in ways that replace human qualities and experiences, this quest forces you to confront the fact that we (like Anthony Harris and Randy) are still emotional beings that can be shaped (in negative or positive ways) by our experiences with others. This is a quest that leaves you contemplating life after you complete it. If you want a meaningful quest, this is definitely a quest that sticks with you.

Why The Hunt Is Great - Reasons to Do It

A standout quest–like an episode of Criminal Minds, we must get into the mind of the twisted and deranged “Peter Pan” in order to save innocent lives.
The story raises interesting moral dilemmas–we can feel empathy for the child Anthony, who was abused and neglected by his father, without diminishing the horrendous things he has done to countless young boys in the twisted guise of “saving” them, but doing so is no easy feat.
This quest also shines a light on the importance of early childhood experiences and how they can warp development.
There is a unique melee weapon you can find in this quest only…a cattle prod named “Tinkerbell”...
Lastly, this quest provides a unique use for the BD mechanics, making the mechanics seem more versatile and meaningful.

What's The Best Water Type in Pokemon Legends Arceus?

Being surrounded by your team makes everyone happy!

Calling all Water lovers! I'll admit, I'm a bit biased towards Water types. Yeah, Electric and Grass types have a super effective advantage on them, but Water type Pokemon are normally faster, have a large and versatile movepool, and can be made to fit various roles that your team may need. But which Water types will most benefit you in your quest for the great God Pokemon in Pokemon Legends Arceus (PLA)?

10) Golduck

This battle should be a QUACK one!

Base Stats:

HP: 80
Attack: 82
Special Attack: 95
Defense: 78
Special Defense: 80
Speed: 85

Type: Water

At the bottom of our list is Golduck. For me personally, Golduck was my first Water type while I played through PLA for the first time. Naturally, I caught it as a Psyduck before it evolved to Golduck at level 40. Golduck is fast and has some pretty high Special Attack and Attack power.

Water type moves have great STAB stats
Able to have Swift Swim Ability to increase speed in raining weather
Increase power of Water type moves in the rain
Ability Cloud Nine (most common), will take away all weather conditions in the beginning of battle.

Golduck can be found in the Obsidian Fields in The Heartwood, the Crimson Mirelands at the Holm of Trials, the Coronet Highlands in the Wayward Wood and the Lonely spring, and finally in the Cobalt Coastlands in Bathers Lagoon. With all the places you can catch Golduck, it's giving Oddish vibes.

9) Gastrodon

The match up betweek Lucario and Gastrodon might end in Gastrodon's favor

Base Stats:

HP: 110
Attack: 83
Special Attack: 92
Defense: 68
Special Defense: 82
Speed: 39

Type: Water/Ground

Gastrodon, at spot number nine, probably upsets a few PokeFans. Me included, but considering Gastrodon comes in at number nine out of about 34 Water type Pokemon available in the game, I think that's pretty high up there. Gastrodon is a Ground and Water type with high HP stats. With HP this high, this guy would make a great pokemon to start any battle since it has more than enough HP to spare.

Only one weakness, Grass Type
Immune to Electric attacks
High HP, can last in long, strenuous battles.

Gastrodon can be found in the Obsidian Fields at Sandgum Flats and Ramadas Island. It can also be found in Massive outbreaks in the Cobalt Coastlands near Seagrass Haven.

8) Tentacruel

Base Stats:

HP: 80
Attack: 70
Special Attack:80
Defense: 65
Special Defense: 120
Speed: 100

Type: Water/Poison

This poor Kraken-like Pokemon gets a bad rep, lemme tell ya. Tentacruel has some pretty impressive stats in PLA. And can be added to your party about half way through the story. Tentacruel is either an easy opponent, or a team's worst nightmare. Hopefully you're not starting your battle with Tentacruel with a Fairy type.

High Special Defense
Ability Liquid Ooze hurts the user of HP draining attacks
Ability Clear Body (most common) prevents stats from being lowered, which is great!

Head to the Cobalt Coastlands, Tentacruel can be found in Lunkers Lair or Seagrass Haven. You won’t need a fishing rod in this game, standing by a body of water. Mainly because you can’t fish in PLA, but once you receive the Noble Pokemon, Basculegion, you can swim out to the areas at sea.

7) Samurott

Gaze upon this glorious Samurai style guy, Samurott

Base Stats:

HP: 90
Attack: 108
Special Attack: 100
Defense: 80
Special Defense: 65
Speed: 85

Type: Water/Dark

In Pokemon Black and White (Black 2 and White 2 as well), Oshawott was my starter. As a committed PokeFan, I felt it was only necessary to Oshawott for my starter in PLA as well. I just have one question. Whose idea was it to add Dark type to Samurott anyway? Dark types have their perks but it definitely didn't help the guy out. It did, however, give Samurott an advantage over Psychic and Ghost Types. And this ninja seal has a sneaker, more intimidating look about him in the Hisui Region. His special attack, Ceaseless Edge, is a cut throat move that has a high chance of hitting critically.

Samurott is the final evolution form from the starter at the beginning of PLA, Oshawott. Oshawott, Dewott and Samurott can only be caught in a Space-Time Distortion in the Alabaster Icelands. The Spawn rate is pretty rare, so make sure you are in the STD from start to finish.

Who can say no to this face!!!

Type: Water

No one can be mad that this cute, little guy is midway up on the list. Vaporeon, a first gen original. A classic Pokemon, evolved from Eevee when exposed to a Water Stone. This iconic Pokemon has some really great stats going for it; HP, Special Attack, and Special Defense. And thanks to STAB, water type moves are over 50% higher in attack power! Did I mention how cute Vaporeon is? Isn’t that reason enough for it to have spot number six?

Vaporeon is very rare and doesn’t spawn anywhere in PLA unless in a Space-Time Distortion. You can also just catch an Eevee from the very beginning of the story at Obsidian Fields in the Horseshoe Plains and give it a Water Stone. Water Stones can be dug up by a Ride Pokemon or found in a Space-Time Distortion.

5) Walrein

Alpha Walrein put up an aggressive fight in the Cobalt Coastlands.

Type: Water/Ice

Every time I see a Walrein, I think of Pokemon Ruby version, battling Wallace, the 8th gym leader. Walrein was usually the last out at the end of the battle and he always gave me issues as a kid. Walrein is very aggressive, so when you go to catch one for yourself, be ready to battle.

You can catch Walrein in the Cobalt Coastlands in Ginkgo Landing, Islespy Shore, or Hideaway Bay; as well as in the Alabaster Icelands in Arena;’s Approach. There is also an Alpha available in the Cobalt Coastlands around Ginkgo Landing.

4) Empoleon

Type: Water/Steel

Spot number four goes to the Emperor of the Penguins!... Oops, wrong audience. *AHEM* Empoleon, with a superior Special Attack and Special Defense stats, Empoleon can really do some damage. Its attack power is pretty good, but to bring out Empoleon’s true potential, you will focus on Water and Steel Special Attack type moves.

In the Cobalt Coastlands, an Alpha Empoleon will be waiting to greet you on the Islespy Shore. Or you can catch the entire evolution chain, Piplup, Prinplup, and Empoleon, during a Massive Mass Outbreak.

3) Gyarados

We all know Gyarados was a Flying type, but seeing it hundreds of feet in the air in the Obsidian Fields is breath taking.

Type: Water/Flying

Gyarados has been leading the pack for Water type pokemon since before Ash Ketchum left Pallet Town. In spot number three, Gyarados has a lot to offer your team. Maybe in Red though. I wonder if you could find one? Gyarados has beautifully high stats almost all the way around. The physical attack power it has should lead you in training your Gyarados in more physical attack moves.

Luckily, Gyarados is not too hard for you to find throughout the game. In the Obsidian Fields, Gyarados will spawn in Lake Verity and can also be seen flying around Obsidian Falls! Also, check the Cobalt Coastlands around Sands Reach if you want an Alpha Gyarados.

2) Basculegion

Type: Water/Ghost

Basculegion, the new Legends Arceus exclusive evolve form from Basculin, is our runner up. Not only will this guy last in a battle, but he can hit hard and is pretty quick for his size. You might first encounter this lovely overgrown fish after completing the quest when you get your 3rd Star Rank 3 and complete the 'Lordless Island' main story mission at Cobalt Coastlands. Did I mention it’s also a Ghost type?

Simply catching a Basculin and leveling it up won't get you a Basculegion. You can wait for a Massive Mass outbreak in the Cobalt Coastlands. OR. Catch a Basculin and make sure it has moves with recoil damage. Basculin will need to take at least 260-300 recoil damage in order to evolve.

The way Palkia towers over you is enough to scare off a heard of Bidoof.

If you’ve made it this far, I hope you saw this coming. At spot number one we have Palkia. Personally, both forms of Palkia in PLA make a top tear Water type. And you can’t have Palkia in PLA without having the ability (or item, in this case) to transform it to its Origin form.

Palkia can be caught in the end of the main story, or by returning to the damaged Sky Pillar after completing the “Trial of Lake Acuity”, and catching it. Either option is affected earlier in the game when you choose which clan you support, Diamond or Pearl. Palkia can transform into Origin Palkia using the Lustrous Orb, given to you by Irida (Pearl Clan Leader) in the Alabaster Icelands. Complete the quest “The Pearl Clan’s Treasure” and the orb is yours.

Welcome everyone, to the Top 10 Ranked Fighting Type Pokemon of Pokemon Legends Arceus (PLA)!!! In this report, we will have 10 matchups go head to head to see who is truly the very best. Like no one ever was. *Ahem* Okay, now that the intro is done, did anyone else feel that the fighting types were slightly slept on in PLA? Still want one on your team? Well, continue reading to find out who my top 10 picks are for PLA Fighting type Pokemon.

10) Machoke

Machoke, an OG Fighting type being engaged for battle.

Attack: 100
Special Attack: 50
Defense: 70
Special Defense: 60
Speed: 45

Type: Fighting

Machoke was made to be a Fighting type Pokemon. From the balanced states to the wrestler style aesthetic, Machoke looks like it’ll give any Pokemon a hard time in battle. If you’ve ever had a hard time choosing a fighting type for your team, Machoke is a very reliable and effortless choice. Machoke can take a decent amount of hits (unless it's from a Flying or Psychic type), but it suffers in Speed.

Has high Attack stat, so STAB Fighting type moves will be increased by 50%
Guts ability also raises users Attack by 50% when inflicted with a status condition such as paralysis or poison
Higher HP and decent defensive stats make Machoke last longer in battles

Machoke can be caught in its first evolution form pretty early in the game. However, if you don't have the time to evolve a Machop, or you are on a shiny hunt, Machoke can be found in the Coronet Highlands in the Celestica Ruins and Fabled Spring. Also, search the Alabaster Icelands from Snowfall Hot Spring, all the way to Icebound Falls. If you want an Alpha Machoke, Head to the Cobalt Coastlands between Castaway Shore and Ginkgo Landing to battle the massive wrestler style Pokemon.

9) Hisuian Lilligant

Type: Fighting/Grass

Here in spot number nine, we have the Hisuian version of Lilligant. Back in Pokemon Black and White, Lilligant was my go to Grass type Pokemon. Now, here in the Hisui Region, Petilil takes a bit of a different form. For most players, the first time you encounter Hisuan Lilligant, will be in the Crimson Mirelands at Brava Arena. This battle will be a tough one. And at the end of the battle, much like calming the Frenzied (Pokemon) in Obsidian Fields, you won't be able to catch Lilligant.

High Speed and Attack power, so when learning moves, hard hitting Grass and Fighting moves should be your friend
Chlorophyll ability will double Hisuian Lilligant’s speed during battles with bright sunshine
Though Lilligant has many weaknesses, it can learn a wide variety of move types to help combate opponents that will otherwise KO Lilligant.

You cannot catch Hisuian Lilligant in any of the maps. It won't even appear in any Space-Time Distortions (in my personal experience and research). Head to the Crimson Mirelands and search Cottonsedge Prairie and the Holm of Trials. There you can catch Petilil, which can evolve into Hisuian Lilligant when exposed to a Sun Stone.

8) Toxicroak

Type:Fighting/Poison

Toxicroak isn’t a Pokemon to be laughed at. Its blue and orange coloring resemble classic colors of actual (real life) toads and frogs to warn predators of its poisonous nature. Just the sight of this Pokemon should frighten you! Toxicroak will usually have a tricky moveset and will likely poison your Pokemon at some point during battle. As a fun tip, your avatar will also become poisoned if you’re carelessly walking around the Crimson Mirelands without knowing one has spotted you.

Only weak against three types, Psychic, Ground, and Flying
Along with its attack power and speed, Toxicroak can have the ability Anticipation, which the Pokemon will shutter, warning you that your opponent has a move that it is weak against
Large variety of moves it can learn, mainly physically aggressive moves.

Toxicroak can be found in two of the two of the five areas in PLA. In the Crimson Mirelands, you’ll find a Toxicroak hanging out in the boggy waters of the Holm of Trials, but also an Alpha Toxicroak in the same area. Keep your eyes open. Also, while in the Cobalt Coastlands, Toxicroak will also appear around Spring Path.

7) Machamp

Evolved from Machoke we have Machamp! *Que “John Cena” Theme music* Machamp is a force to be reckoned with. It has four arms and is stacked with power. If you remember from earlier, it’s very easy to start raising your own Machamp from the beginning of the game in the Obsidian Fields. At some point you might ask yourself, when is my Machoke going to evolve? Or how!? Read on my friend. The answer is here.

Only three weaknesses, Flying, Psychic, and Fairy
Can have a hidden ability (rare), Steadfast, which will increase the user's Speed every time the user flinches.
Move pool consists of many physical attack type moves and stat boosting moves.

Take on the Alpha Machamp in the Alabaster Icelands just outside of Icepeak Arena. This is your best bet and capturing a Machamp without evolving your Machoke. In PLA, we have all encountered pokemon we would think would be stuck at their second evolution; Magmar, Electabuzz, or Gravler to name a few. Machoke will evolve into Machamp when exposed to a Link Cord. A link cored can be acquired in many ways via quests or finding items within a Space-Time Distortion. But you can also buy one with your Merit Points at the Trading Post located in Jubilife Village.

6) Heracross

Type: Fighting/Bug

A lot of Pokefans tend to pass over Heracross as a great Pokemon. Especially a great Fighting type Pokemon. Heracross is one tough bug and is a very versatile Pokemon to have with you. I have been caught underestimating a Heracross in many Pokemon games released to date. And let me tell you, the Pokemon in PLA just hit different, literally. Heracross has insane STAB power with Bug and Fighting type moves. Don’t go thinking it’s an easy win when you face one in the wild lands of the Hisui Region.

Ability Swarm increases Bug type move’s power by 50%! But only when your HP is below half of its maximum.
Large move pool, making it one of the more versatile Pokemon in the game.
Unique type combo makes Heracross one of the more resilient Pokemon in PLA. Go ahead, put one against Dialga or Garchomp and see if I’m wrong.

Catch an Alpha Heracross that's stomping around Grueling Grove in the Obsidian Fields. Otherwise, you can wait until you’re in the Coronet Highlands to catch the many Heracross that are roaming at the start of the map (from Wayward Wood, to Sonorous Path, through to Lonely Spring). When Space-Time Distortions form in the Crimson Mirelands, you’ll also have a very rare chance of one spawning, but it doesn’t hurt to check.

5) Sneasler

Type: Fighting/Poison

Sneasler is one of the newly added Pokemon found exclusively in the Hisui Region of PLA. Which will not surprise you that it can only be transferred to Pokemon Home and back into PLA only. Sneasley meets us at spot number five with immense speed and power. You will encounter Sneasler as one of the Noble Pokemon that you will use to climb cliffs or trees throughout the game. This will help in reaching hard to reach items or fleeing from Pokemon on the ground. You can pick up items while riding on Sneasler’s back, but you cannot send Pokemon into battle, or use Sneasler (or any other Noble Pokemon) in battle.

Only weak against Psychic, Ground, and Flying moves
Likely to have ability, Pressure, but might have Poison Touch, which may poison your target if they … well… touch you.
STAB increase for all Fighting and Poison type moves - Take advantage of this with Sneasler’s high Attack and Speed stats to finish a battle quickly.

While Sneasler won’t be seen walking around any of the maps of the Hisui Region, you can catch its base form around the Northern part of the Alabaster Icelands in Glacier Terrace, Avalugg’s Legacy, or just outside the Pearl Settlement. Once you’ve caught a Hisuian Sneasel, obtain a Razor Claw. It might be carrying one when you catch it. If not, you can head to the Trading Post and give up some Merit Points for a Razor Claw. Once you have it, give it to your Sneasel and level it up during the day.

4) Gallade

Don't let Gallade attack without your eyes on him, he's too fast for games.

Type: Fighting/Psychic

Since Gallade was released to all Pokemon Trainers everywhere when the Gen IV game, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, was released, this should not be a shock to have Gallade available in PLA. Gallade, while powerful, may not last as long in battle as one would like. It’s seriously intimidating martial arts stance and bladed arms will win almost anyone over. With a lower HP than most would like, Gallade makes up for this in its Special Defense. And in your capable hands, Gallade can be any opponent's worst nightmare. Seriously, have you ever had one chase after you? Seriously, it’s terrifying.

If you wait until you reach the Alabaster Icelands, you can encounter an Alpha Gallade waiting for you around a corner in Snowpoint Temple. If you miss your chance there, search around the outside of Snowpoint temple or head to Heart’s Crag to catch a male Ralts or Kirlia. You can even catch a Ralts or Kirlia earlier in the game in the Crimson Mirelands. The Shrouded ruins is flooded with Ralts and Kirlia, but you can find either pre-evolution forms scattered around the West part of the map. Ensuring you have a Male Kirlia, you may use it to evolve into Gallade using a Dawn Stone.

Type: FIghting/Steel

Ever since Pokemon X and Y, I have been obsessed with Lucario. Which actually angers me a little bit because Lucario has been available since Diamond and Pearl! Lucario looks like he knows all and sees all. Lucario is the embodiment of poetry and power. After all, Lucario has phenomenal attack power, both Special Attack and physical Attack. Lucario has probably seen you and many others though every Pokemon League since the Sinnoh Region. Even though Lucario is a powerful fighter, he can be taken down if you’re not careful. For a Steel type, he sure has some average defensive stats, but take advantage of held items and moves that increase defensive stats. This should help alleviate any worry you have while in battle.

High Attack and Special Attack power; Use Steel and Fighting STAB moves for maximum impact.
Moves like Sword Dance can help out with defensive stats to prolong Lucario’s endurance in battle.
Immune to Poison attacks

Lucario will be located in the Alabaster Icelands. At the top of Iceland Falls, you will find an Alpha Lucario stalking back and forth at an intimidating level 70. You can also find Lucario at the base of Iceland Falls or head north to Snowfall Hot Spring. If you decide to catch a Riolu, remember, it will only evolve into Lucario after you've achieved a high Friendship level, and level up during the Daytime.

Type: Fighting/Grass

How crazy is it? We had a Grass and Ghost Decidueye originally, and now we get an almost opposite version as a Grass and Fighting type combination! Hisuian Decidueye is our number two, runner up for Best Fire Type in PLA. Considering it has the same amount of weaknesses as Hisuian Lilligant, the stats make Decidueye a head above most. Hisuian Decidueye has well balanced base stats, and even though it's not the fastest, it can take a hit and give one back twice as hard.

High Attack and Special Attack, Focus on Grass and Fighting moves for maximum STAB benefits.

Ability (rare) Long Reach is a unique ability; users will attack a target without making physical contact with their opponent.

If you don't select Rowelet in the beginning of the game, there are still a few ways you can get this Final Evolution starter Pokemon. The quickest will be to head into any Space-Time Distortion and capture one, or a Dartrix and raise it into Decidueye. It is not always guaranteed that Rowlet, Dartrix, or Decidueye will spawn. So! If you wait just a bit longer, after completing the main story, head back to Jubilife Village and see Professor Laventon. You will be given the other two starters you did not pick in the beginning of the game. So if you didn’t pick Rowlet, you’ll still obtain it in the “end”.

I’m not sorry, Infernape has always been a fantastic Pokemon. Infernape is nationally used in competitions, and is a fan favorite over all when it comes to Fire type starter Pokemon. And no, of course no one tops Charizard, but that’s not who we're talking about right now! Infernape is a quick, hyped up fire monkey that, literally, cannot hold still. All its stats are well balanced, making STAB moves easier to use. Even though it has an average defense, Infernapes speed will almost ensure it attacks first in all your battles. But why else would Infernape be number one, The Ma-CHAMP-ion!

Infernape can be on your team pretty early on in the game! There is an Alpha Infernape available for grabs in the Obsidian Fields at Ramanas Island. It'll be surrounded by Chimchar and Monferno, so if you don't want to take on the Alpha yet, there are other options to get an Infernape.

Resident Evil 4 was the first game that I know of that did this and every game is slightly inferior for not including this feature. Back at it again with another Article/Essay on my random thoughts about Fallout 4. After going over Body Armor, the next logical step is to present my guide on Power Armor. The poster boy of the series since the Armor is on the cover of every game (except New Vegas). The semi-impenetrable walking tank that gives its wearer Hulk-like strength to take on a den of Deathclaws single handed. In this guide, I shall discuss what are the best ones and their benefits as you level up throughout the game.

1. Empty Frame

If you are like me and avoid When Freedom Calls at the beginning; then the first Power Armor, you’ll most likely come across would be an Empty Frame in one of the many preset spawn locations across the map. There are three closes to Sanctuary itself; BUT if you wait a few levels before coming to these locations you will find better sets as they spawn table changes based on your current level.

As a Frame is the base for all other pieces, it only gives you the base stats. As a frame it sets your STR to 11.
Since it modifies STR, it also increases your Melee damage for Physical Builds.
Even without armor pieces, it still negates fall damage. Meaning you can take the shortcut in any situation by just jumping of the edge.

2. Raider Power Armor

Once you have a Frame, you’ll need some armor pieces; and the most abundant type of pieces you’ll find are Raider pieces. High level Raiders will be wearing it as you trek across the Boston Ruins. Once you duke it out over a cup of tea and 300 rounds of .304 bullets; you can scavenge the parts off their died body and recycle them onto your frame. Side note, if you’re skilled enough to shoot out their Fusion Core, it will self-destruct and might displace the wearer. This will allow you to replace the core and climb in, getting you another suit BUT the game counts this as a carjacking and will be seen as stealing. This is not a big deal, but it will affect Companion Affinity as certain ones Like stealing while others Hate it.

Upgraded to Raider II, it will provide 620 Damage Resistance with 250 Energy Resistance.
At low levels, it has a very limited pool of Upgrades but once you advance Armorer, Science, & Blacksmith (a good idea since all the armors uses these perks) you’ll have a decent one. But by that point you’ll probably have better Power Armor by then.
This armor is the cheapest and easiest to maintain as the only repair material is steel, which is one of the most abundant materials found in the wasteland.

3. T-45 Power Armor

The Model T of Power Armor, Simple and Effective. This armor set is one step up from raider in terms of numbers but with it being “Actual” Power Armor, it’s upgradability makes Raider Armor look like cardboard. If you decide to do When Freedom Calls at the beginning of the game, then you will receive a full set of T-45 and a Mini-gun as part of the scripted events.

Starts at 500 DAM & 310 ENG Resistance but maxing it out into a Model F will grant 1100 DAM & 910 ENG Resistance.
Being made of polished metal instead of rusty scraps, you can apply one of the many Paint Jobs to your armor to get a Stat increase.
Cheap maintenance as it uses only Steel to repair most of its pieces, except that some Circuitry is needed for the Torso.

4. Overboss Power Armor

Strange to some, considering my last guide but if you want to play a Power Armor focused run; I would suggest that you start Nuka-World early so that you can get the Overboss Power Armor from the scripted boss fight at the beginning of the DLC. Afterwards, go through until you can return to Boston.

This armor has 1220 DAM & 1220 ENG Resistance off the bat; making it a good choice for late-early game as it provides high defense without the level investment needed.
Since this is a special set, it has Tesla Coils in the Torso already giving low level players a decent AOE for defense against physical attacks, which most low-level enemies only use.
Finally, because it is fancy Raider Armor; it costs the to repair of only a few Steels for each piece.

5. T-51 Power Armor

It’s the boy, T-51 from the cover of Fallout 1. It has been with us since the beginning. With the classic design, you feel like a Brotherhood member just donning it on.

It is simply better than the T-45; with a starting 740 DAM & 490 ENG Resistance that can be raised to 1340 DAM & 1090 ENG.
Allow you access to the High-End mods that can be access such as Jet Pack.
This is where it might be a bit more difficult to upgrade and repair since it needs a little bit more rare materials such as Aluminum, Circuitry, & Nuclear Material.

6. Nuka T-51 Power Armor

Back to Nuka-World, there are Brand Tie-In Power Armor that were kept in perfect condition from the War. The first one is the Nuka T-51, with its custom Nuka Paint job; it is a great midgame Armor set.

It starts out already maxed out Stats of 1340 DAM & 1090 ENG Resistance.
The Nuka-Cola Paint Job gives its wearer +3 AGL, while others give only +1 in a stat.
But you need to have the whole set equipped to get the benefit.

7. T-60 Power Armor

The Showcase Armor of the game, first introduced here in Fallout 4 the T-60 is the most abundant Armor found in the mid game as it is the standard issue Armor in the Brotherhood. With good stats and great mods, this is a great choice.

Starts with 900 DAM & 645 ENG; with a hefty investment of rare materials and perk levels can be raised to 1580 DAM & 1245 ENG Resistance.
Since the T-60 is the game’s showpiece; they made a couple Variant pieces that if you find can have a full set of Named Pieces with legendary effects.

8. X-01 Power Armor

The former Boogeyman of the Wasteland and the cover armor of Fallout 2. (According to the superior lore) developed by the Enclave to be the strongest and most advance Power Armor ever dreamed of. This set is the crown jewel of any Power Armor user, beaten only by one.

Starting with 1220 DAM & 790 ENG Resistance; after a very expensive upgrade process to raise it to MK. VI it has 1820 DAM & 1390 ENG Resistance, the highest in the game.
Access to all normal Paint Jobs and Mods.
Ironically, once you reach a high enough level sets of X-01 spawn all over the map in certain spawn locations.

9. Quantum X-01 Power Armor

The lore breaker and “Objectively” best Power Armor in the game, The Nuka-Quantum X-01 Power Armor can be unlocked close to the end of the Nuka-World DLC. Being the best choice for the rest of the game assuming you get it at the beginning of the Late-Game stage.

Once you complete Star Control, you unlock the set, which comes pre-upgraded as a MK. V set. Giving you 1700 DAM & 1270 ENG Resistance which is slightly less than Max standard X-01. But thankfully, you can upgrade the Quantum set into a MK. VI with the same maxed stats of 1820 & 1390.
Since it’s pre-upgraded, it is cheaper to max out than a Standard set.
What makes it so special is that it has the legendary effect of increasing Action Point refresh speed; being one of the few pieces with legendary effects at all.

10. Personal Favorite Armor

Finally, the best Armor in the game is… whatever one you feel like. To be truly honest, with how Power Armor is a limited resource as finding Fusion Core is a rarity on its own; you end up saving your armor for special occasions. And with the cost to fully upgrade one suit of Armor to max specs, you develop a bond with your favorite set. True by the numbers, one set of armor is stronger than another; but at high level play on a Veteran’s 5th playthrough, skill will always outweigh the numbers game. Making Power Armor a nice thing to have but keeping it special to use.

Thus ends another epic tale of min-maxing a game I played for years. When trekking across the radioactive wasteland, the beings you shoot on sight will sometimes fire back. Weird huh? I guess you need something to cover your TV Dinner body from getting too many bullet holes; well, that’s why you’re here with me.

This is my guide on the best armors in a progressive order to wear as you vaporized Deathclaws from Level 1 to 65,535.

1.Raider Armor

You know it, you ignore it; the trash (literally) armor. You could make mountains of Raider Armor if you collected them and piled them up. With some of the worst stats, very few will use this for long in a normal playthrough. There are some good points:

Easily Found & Repaired
Roleplay Cosplay as Raider Scum
You will have a chest full of Legendary pieces with decent effects but poor stats.

2.Vault Jumpsuit

Good old blue underwear, the vault suit is the quintessential “never take off” item. Simply because it goes with everything else.

You can improve Energy and Rad resistance as you level up.

3.Legend of Vault 88

It’s a vault suit, but a little better. After finishing Lady Luck from the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC, you will be rewarded with this unique vault suit.

Already has mid upgrade stats for Energy and Radiation
Plus, a -15% damage from ghouls
Sadly, still lacks ballistic weave compatibility.

4.Leather Armor

My personal favorite of the early game armor; with the ease to find and customize them on the workbench, they are great choices carry you into the mid game.

6.Metal Armor

Poor man’s power armor, Metal Armor has the best Ballistic Damage resistance for a mid-game armor that is non unique at the cost of carry weight.

7.Minuteman General’s Uniform

Depending on the side you take from mid game towards end; Synth Armor will become the most common drop you will find. It will be the later mid game Metal Armor.

9.Courser Uniform

At the beginning of the End Game stage, you’ll have to start fighting elite units and finally join a side. One of the harder units to fight are Institute Coursers. Giving you one of the cool outfits in game.

10.Combat Armor

Finally, the last of the Tier basic armor. With a balance of resistance and high stats, combat armor is found where the difficulty is turned up such as on Brother of Steel Knights and High-Level Gunners.

The combined ballistic from Metal and energy from Leather resistance, it only lacks radiation. So, unless you’re fighting in the glow all day, no real harm

11.Destroyer’s Armor

[Visual Same as Combat]

An almost complete set of Named Legendary Combat Armor. There is no visual difference besides one arm piece is missing, which can be replace by a standard Combat Arm piece.

Is sold at set place across the wasteland, so is technically easier to get than standard combat armor

12.Army Fatigues

This is one of most important pieces of clothing in the game. At first glance it seems worthless as they provide no stats beside a small boost to Strength and Agility; but that’s where Tinker Tom’s Gift to the Wasteland comes in, Ballistic Weave. Adding the weave give them 110 in both ballistic and energy resistance.

You wear them under your favor armor pieces, thus you can combine legendary Combat Armor with the enhanced Army Fatigues to have the true super soldier experience

13.Mechanist’s Armor

The next three are similar as they are End Game pieces that have some of the highest stats in the game. So, from here on there is little difference in performance and more in taste. The Mechanist’s armor is the prize for competing the Automatron DLC questline, with initial stats being mid but adding weave will make it one of the strongest armors in the game.

14.Pack Armor

If you rather roleplay as a raider, then the Pack Armor from the Nuka World DLC is you home.

15.Marine Armor

On the other side of the map is Far Harbor, which I personally consider as the true End Game; is where you fight to get Marine Armor. THE Strongest armor of the game.

Fallout 4 Best Stats To Upgrade [How To Allocate Stats Guide]

If there is one thing that everyone who has ever touched a Fallout game knows by heart, it is the SPECIAL system. Time for a short history lesson; originally Fallout was an intended sequel to the original Wasteland on DOS. Wasteland was designed with an engine based on Ken St. Andre’s Tunnels & Trolls. To keep the same tabletop approach, Fallout was going to use Steve Jackson’s GURPS system. But after creative disagreements, the team at Interplay decided to create the one and only SPECIAL system. Standing for the seven stats: Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, & Luck; these have been with gamers since the 90’s. In today’s essay, I will be going over my personal thoughts on how the SPECIAL system is use in Fallout 4. Describing what I believe to be the most important to focus on and the not so important.

Intelligence

This stat is what I consider to be the most important one to focus on. This comes downs to two vital points, Experience rates & Bottlenecking. Having a higher INT will increase your EXP rate, making it easier to level up and get more perks. Which kind of the point of playing an RPG. The second issue is that there are perks that are needed to fully enjoy the game: Gun Nut, Hacker, & Science; making the minimum INT score one can have is 6.

Nuclear Physicist is the top tier perk that will double the usage of Fusion Core; allowing you to use your favorite Power Armor for twice as long.
Scrapper is for those who are into modifying everything and building the perfect settlement as certain ingredients are harder to find without the perk.
Sadly, I think Nerd Rage is a poor final perk. By the time you invest into it, you’re a high enough level that dropping below 20% health is a rarity that barely justifies the perk’s benefit. Especially since similar effects can be achieved with Armor & Chems.

Agility

This stat is second to INT as it affects the gun play of your character. Having higher AGL will improve your sneaking and increase the Action Points used in VATS. Thankfully, there is no minimum here as all the perks are simply based on one’s play style. My favorite one is Ninja, but that is because I do sneak sniper builds.

Gun Fu being the final perk is a decent pay off for maxing the stat as it increases the damage you deal as you target more enemies in the same VATS shot. Doing automatic critical damage to every target after 3.
Moving Target is extremely useful in survival mode. Having an extra +50 Damage & Energy Resistance when you’re fleeing a squad of Gunner Captains that landed one to many headshots on you. Having that extra edge to live an extra 10 seconds can make the difference between healing up and getting revenge or reloading from a bed you saved at an hour ago.
Personally, Quick Hands is not that useful. It’s nice to have but the engagement distance that my fights occur at make the reload time improvement a moot point.

Strength

STR is a useful stat as it gives you an exponential increase to your Carry Weight & Melee Damage. So, if you prefer melee, this is your AGL. Normally weight is not an issue, but in Survival mode it is something that you must plan in advance since your weapons, ammo, and health items have weight; you cannot pick up everything you see. You’ll have to make multiple trips unless you want to take limb damage for being Over Encumbered. So best max out STR when you can as it will improve your character’s quality of life.

Armorer is the most vital perk since this unlocks the upgrade modifications to both your Armor and Power Armor. Combine with Science, you can unlock the Jetpack mod and access secrets rooms across the map.
Strong Back is useful for anyone who loves to collect material as it both increases carry weight and cancels certain effects of being over encumbered.
Pain Train is good on paper; the only flaw is sprinting in Power Armor drains the fusion core faster than normal. So, if you would like to use this perk, best to combine it with Nuclear Physicist.

Perception

Nothing is wrong with PER, but its usefulness is solely based how much you need it with the play style you decide to play with. PER affects: your general accuracy in VATS; your ability to sense enemies; lockpicking; & stealing. Some of these are more important than others.

PER has three perks that combine to make you a skilled headshot sniper. By combining Rifleman, Sniper, & Concentrated Fire. An effective combo but can become devastating if you also use Sneak, Mister Sandman, & Ninja. This is my personal combo set that I attempt to max as fast as I can.
Demolition Expert is literally useful for every build as grenades and mines are used alongside your main weapon. The Lv 2 of the perk give you an arc that lets you to accurately aim your throws.
Refractor works but is it extremely situational since it only increases Energy Resistance. So only a select number of enemies will be affected since the majority uses ballistic and melee weapons.

Luck

I’m conflicted about how I feel about LUCK; it is not as useful as in previous Fallout games, but the perks are good. LUCK affects your rate of spawn for a number of events and your Critical rate. In my opinion, Fallout 4 has the weakest random encounters; so, it really is just for the Crit rate.

Critical Banker is the best perk of the set as it lets you save up to 4 Crits that you can use on demand. Great for boss battles where you need to clear out health and cripple their limbs.
Fortune Finder/Scrounger are functional similar but are helpful as caps can be running thin if you aren’t a Murder Hobo and certain ammo are rarer than others, so finding extra extends your session of sniping with your .50 cal.
Idiot Savant is a self-defeating perk and is the one I consider functional the worst in the game. To take full effect of it, you can only have 1 INT. Which bottlenecks the possible builds and actions you can play with all for random EXP increases. The benefits of Idiot Savant can be matched with max INT.

Endurance

END is a stat that matches the skill of the player; players fresh to the game will need it more than a seasoned veteran of the wasteland. END affects Health and Sprinting; good but the perks are all about keeping you from dying often. But a professional doesn’t die.

Ghoulish is functional the best one as it makes radiation something you can use. Max it and the glow isn’t as scary as it was before.
Aquaboy/girl is ironically super helpful as it turns the rivers throughout the map into high-speed highways to return from a long trek in less time that walking back. Assuming you play in Survival, otherwise you’d just fast travel.
Lead Belly makes sense; it removes radiation from food and water, the problem is that in Survival you still get sick from it. The illnesses do more damage than the radiation it prevents, making it useless.

Charisma

CHA is controlling your Speech checks, Barter skills, and Settlement management. All important, but the approach is flawed and sometimes broken. My biggest issue with CHA is that is you only need a 4 CHA to experience the most it can offer a veteran player. This comes down to the design of the game rather than the stat itself. A fresh player may find Intimidation useful and passing speech checks feel rewarding; but as you grow you learn that the quests are written in a way than railroads you towards an outcome with little regards to the speech ability. And since speech outcomes are a literal random chance, non-survival players can just save scum until they pass it. Making CHA the worst stat in my mind.

Lone Wanderer & Attack Dog is the best combo from CHA and is what I get first as all the positive effects given by Lone Wanderer do not get cancelled if you travel with Dogmeat. Making you another Boy & His Dog.
Animal Friend/Wasteland Whisperer/Intimidation are all functionally the same with different targets; these are not bad to use and can be helpful, but I’d rather kill my enemies and gain the EXP than tame them.
Local Leader is only needed if you care about settlement development, otherwise you can literally avoid it and not miss anything.

Well, that was my thesis on Fallout 4 stat allotments; but this is the beauty of RPGs, I can decide to do the opposite of what I just wrote and will still have fun playing a new build. This guide is just my approach to min-maxing the game, but there is a whole different approach if I want to play like a barbarian or a drug addict or a cowboy. There is no right way to play, just have fun.

Mass Effect 3 Best Bonus Powers For Each Class

If only we were this cool in real life. Am I right?

In RPGs, players particularly love playing the game to optimize their character as much as possible with the right build. Except there are always several attractive options in games like Mass Effect that are built to prepare players for any situation. I believe that is incredibly subjective when it comes to what is best and what isn’t. Some options are worse than others, but sometimes a great game has options for everyone.

When building a character based on the chosen class, the number of power builds will depend on the player’s creativity. Especially when it comes to Bonus Powers. Except what is Bonus Powers?

For each class, there are a set of powers that players can use as they progress in-game. Which, of course, makes each class equally strong and weak in particular combat situations. However, in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, Bonus Powers was brought into the mix so that players can have the opportunity to round out their character build based on what they wish to accomplish in combat.

Each class has equal access to these Bonus Powers, yet each power brings something different to the table depending on which class you have chosen. Additionally, a player can only choose one bonus power. So the question is then: Which Bonus Power is best suited for me then? Well, let’s find out!

The Adept

Setting up combos is what Biotics are all about.

An entirely power-based class, this Biotic powerhouse is well versed with abilities that deal with crowd control, high damage output, and devastating combos. Except, what is missing in this class are abilities that can give more options in combat and more power combos that can damage a vast array of enemies. The biggest issue being that Adepts have trouble against protected enemies. Thankfully, these powers will give you, the player, more options.

For starters, the appeal of using powers like Singularity and Pull is to set up Biotic explosions on enemies. However, those powers aren't effective against protected enemies. Luckily, Stasis will allow players to set up these destructive combos with any foe. Progressing with Stasis Bubble upon leveling up this power will give players the ability to get the crowd control and combo set up that they would be looking for with any other power. Additionally, Dark Channel is a decent option for those who wish to line up combos on multiple foes.

For those who want a more rounded experience as an Adept rather than maximizing a Biotic combo build, Reave or Warp Ammo will give players access to press on more aggressively when pinned down. Specifically, Reave deals damage over time like Warp while also supplying a damage reduction bonus that dwarfs the effectiveness of Barrier. Otherwise, Warp Ammo will aid adepts in dealing damage to enemies without using up power and waiting for it to recharge.

Stasis
Reave
Warp Ammo
Dark Channel

The Engineer

You can thank the Protheans for a good power like Dark Channel

While more well-rounded for multiple combat situations, Engineers trade great power for versatility. This makes the class primarily a supportive role in combat. Unable to completely defend themselves in close range. That, fortunately, can be fixed.

Just as useful for Adepts and other classes in this article, Warp Ammo not only gives this class an ammo-type power-up, it also deals greater damage to a wider variety of enemies as opposed to Armor-Piercing Ammo. On a similar front, Inferno Grenade will give a class bereft of a grenade option an effective weapon against enemies who wander a little too close. Which will deal a great amount of damage, and set up a tech combo. Except when leveling up this ability, players should monitor the blast radius of the grenade to best suit this power to their needs. Carnage will also be ideal for setting up attacks with other powers like Overload.

On a more defensive note, Engineers might want to consider Defense Matrix. While this power will cost players who wish to use a powers-focused build, it gives the player a substantial bonus in damage reduction and shield regeneration. So to make up for its long recharge cooldown it would be wise to set up either Sentry Turrets or Combat Drones to give your Engineer room to breathe.

Warp Ammo
Inferno Grenade
Defense Matrix
Carnage

The Sentinel:

If this class weren't good enough already.

For a well-equipped class like the Sentinel, there are ways to make the class more balanced. By stacking defensive abilities or bringing in powers that set up more kills.

Tech Armor is the premier ability of the Sentinel-class, as it is favored for its shield boost and usage as a close-range weapon, allowing the class to serve more as a tank in combat. So, previously mentioned powers like Defense Matrix and Reave will permit players to layer their defense while waiting for Tech Armor to recharge.

As helpful as Reave is for damage reduction and combo setups, Defense Matrix can act as a backup to Tech Armor. While it may be a weaker version of Tech Armor, Defense Matrix can be leveled up to function similarly. So while it may not be as strong, Defense Matrix is a strong power that will give Sentinels added staying power in combat.

Additionally, powers like Stasis or Marksmen will fill in the more combat holes that the class has. Specifically, Stasis will give Sentinels the ability to halt and set up a target much like Singularity would for an Adept. As for those who need to gun enemies down with great effectiveness, Marksman is a poor man’s Adrenaline Rush that will give players the weapon accuracy they are looking for from big or smaller weapons.

Marksman
Reave

The Vanguard

Offense is powerful, but defense is helpful.

For the most aggressive class, it would be predictable to use powers that compliment a straightforward power build. However, the best choice is to make up for the class’ weakness in defense.

Therefore, powers like Reave or Fortification will make for an excellent choice. While we are familiar with Reave at this point, Fortification is best suited for this class. Similar to Reave, this power gives you an added damage reduction with the addition of a potential force, damage, and melee damage bonus. That is best suited for a gun-ho class such as this one. With that said, there is one offensive option for those that would like to stay “balls against the wall.”

Specifically, Energy Drain is the way to give Vanguards a more direct route to fight against shielded foes without having to waste several abilities on a well-protected enemy. Plus, this will allow Vanguards to set up Tech bursts. Otherwise, Dark Channel will give the class more accessible to deal chained damage while sacrificing added benefits.

The Infiltrator

Bullets occasionally make a big difference.

So how do you make a stealthy class like The Infiltrator more effective? In this case, it depends on what tactic the player values most. Stealth, damage, or defense?

For those who greatly value the addition of Tactical Cloak when evading enemies or setting up shots, Decoy will give them an added edge. As straightforward as this ability sounds, the trade-off is dependent on the player’s affinity for power. Because without the proper set up this ability will be useless against enemies who have already spotted the player. So for those not confident in setting up assassinations, it might be best to use a power like Defense Matrix.

Otherwise, the addition of shield destroyer power or additional ammo types will help set up shots. Without access to Overload, Energy Drain gives Infiltrators more of an edge against shielded enemies. While Infiltrators have access to ammo-types like Cryo & Disruptor Ammo, Armor-Piercing or Warp Ammo gives snipers more options depending on their needs: penetrating cover or dealing damage to protected enemies.

Decoy
Defense Matrix
Armor-Piercing or Warp Ammo
Energy Drain

The Soldier

Sometimes the straight and narrow is what works best.

For this class, the best way to enhance the combat experience of a Soldier is to give them the option to deal with shielded enemies, with Energy Drain, or invest in staying power. Even more than the Vanguard, this class will benefit from any shielding ability.

Fortification gives Soldiers room to stave off incoming fire more comfortably while also dealing greater weapon damage. Defense Matrix will boost their shields without the concern of a recharge reduction to powers. Furthermore, Barrier gives players damage reduction while also providing crowd control similar to Tech Armor’s detonation.

In defense of not using other abilities more suited for other classes, such as Stasis or Reave, the Soldier class does not have Tech or Biotic powers to truly maximize the potential damage that those powers can set up. Inclusively, the Soldier class has access to every other ammo type, so using Warp or Armor-Piercing Ammo would be redundant. So for maximum effectiveness for this straightforward class, investing in the Soldier's strengths is recommended.

In the Mass Effect games, weapons have always been an essential part of gameplay, even if certain classes don’t call for them. Because when push comes to shove, the most optimized loadout will keep the squishiest Adept alive just as long as the beefiest Vanguard. So, in this article, we will explore just that. Which weapons are the best suited for use in Mass Effect 3?

Disclaimer: that most DLC weapons will not be included in this list. Except for one, all these weapons are available through the original build of the game. So let’s get started!

5.) N7 Hurricane (SMG)

A whirlwind of bullets at your hands.

The SMG is not the most popular weapon type in the game, but it can be helpful. Primarily used by players as a secondary firearm, it comes in handy in a pinch no matter the class you choose. Especially when you have the N7 Hurricane by your side.

Only accessible through the N7 Collectors edition, this weapon is the perfect choice in close-range combat. What it lacks in clip size and weight, it makes up for in its high damage output and insane rate of fire. That is the highest in the game. Allowing a player to cut through a target’s shields or barriers like they're made of butter. Plus, a few mods are sure to make it even better.

For instance, installing the SMG Heat Sink and Magazine Upgrade are suited to compensate for the weapon’s weaknesses. This will grant a player to fire more reliably in a firefight. Additionally, the usage of the SMG High-Velocity Barrel will only add to the weapon’s effectiveness in close-range combat.

For Companions, however, this weapon has no weaknesses. A Companion's resistance to recoil makes this weapon more effective in their hands. So, if not for yourself, this weapon is handy to have within your team.

If you wish to use something more balanced then, the M-12 Locust may be the way to go. All in all, this SMG in the right hands can come in handy for any player needing an edge. Besides, it never hurts to have options.

4.) M-358 Talon (Pistol)

A perfect pistol for any Marksman.

For every player, pistols are either a reliable primary weapon or a handy sidearm. Regardless of the class, a pistol is vital to have at the ready. Which usually fits the description of the M-5 Phalanx. However, for players who need more punch, they should consider the M-358 Talon.

A shotgun disguised as a pistol, this weapon has a tremendous amount of firing power. With a +50% damage bonus against shields and barriers, players will tear down enemies with ease.

More suited for close-range combat, this weapon has a sizeable pellet-like spread that reduces while aiming. The addition of a scope brings this spread down even more. So, this weapon is more suited for classes that require options in close-range like The Vanguard. It also doesn’t hurt that this weapon has a greater rate of fire than most shotguns. Allowing Vanguards to have a lighter weight alternative if they desire to focus on their destructive biotic abilities.

Surprisingly this weapon is an adequate choice for The Infiltrator class given the right build. If a player uses the Ultralight Materials Mod, along with the Pistol Magazine Upgrade and Piercing Mod, then they can tear down enemies in close-range combat. Add a decent SMG to the mix then an Infiltrator can eliminate foes adequately in every combat situation. Giving them the best possible edge in battle.

Unlike the previously mentioned N7 Hurricane SMG, the M-358 Talon is a poor choice for Companion NPCs. Given that the rate of fire causes them to fire the weapon too slowly. Which beats the purpose of using this weapon. Nonetheless, this pistol is a powerful hand cannon to give any player looking for an extra kick in their arsenal.

3.) M-96 Mattock (Assault Rifle)

Powerful, Strong, and Precise.

The favorite weapon type in the Mass Effect franchise, the assault rifle is a versatile weapon that is effective in close-range and long-range combat. For the Soldier class, this is their weapon of choice as they gun down foes. The M-96 Mattock is a perfect choice for players that fancy high damage with versatility in combat.

While another fan favorite, the Geth Pulse Rifle, is a powerful weapon to have, the M-96 Mattock’s high accuracy and damage output make it more desirable. As a semi-automatic marksman rifle, this weapon is as accurate as a semi-automatic sniper rifle with the added benefits of a larger clip size than most sniper rifles. However, this weapon does suffer from a low ammo reserve, so caution is advised in using this weapon excessively. Thankfully, that is the only downfall with this weapon.

At the hands of the Soldier class, this weapon is incredibly deadly to foes when paired with the Adrenaline Rush ability. Even at the ability’s max level, this pairing gives players an advantage of taking down targets accurately and effectively with a short burst of time. On top of that, the addition of Cryo Ammo within the Soldier’s arsenal increases the weapon’s effectiveness without the addition of weapon mods.

So while the weapon faults in a low ammo reserve and slight uncertainty of one-shot kills, the weapon makes up for versatility and accuracy. Even with other assault rifles providing separate benefits, this weapon is the weapon for the Soldier class.

Big, Heavy, and Loud. The best a shotgun could offer.

As we get further down the list, we get into weapons that benefit individual classes more than a wide range of candidates. Shotguns most of all. Since they are best at the hands of Vanguards. The M-300 Claymore above all.

This weapon is a “high-risk, high-reward” sort of weapon. Being one of the most powerful weapons in the game, it suffers from a handful of flaws. Chiefly among them, this weapon has one shot per clip along with a low ammo reserve.

This weapon is best suited for Vanguards who combine their abilities with their weapons to guarantee a kill. Otherwise, this weapon’s slow reload cycle leaves players vulnerable. It only gets worse within higher difficulties in the game, which will make it more difficult to kill enemies. So let that be your warning to use this weapon carefully.

So why recommend this weapon? Because it is well worth the cost at the hands of a player who knows what they're doing.

The Big One!

Lastly, we look at a special weapon type most favored by the Infiltrator class. This particular choice of weapon is the best choice for this class. It improves on the faults of the M-98 Widow, and it also keeps high damage output from a long distance.

The Black Widow improves upon its predecessor by including a larger clip size and ammo reserve. Which is a trade-off from the original Widow’s damage output in one shot. However, with each successive shot per clip the weapon damage increases. So while it may appear to be a weird love child between the M-98 WIdow and the M-92 Mantis, this weapon is a marriage between them.

On top of having the highest damage out of any semi-automatic sniper rifle, the weapon is also incredibly effective against armor. More than any other weapon on this list. Paired with Armor-Piercing Ammo and the Piercing Mod, this weapon can even penetrate most areas of cover.

So what’s the trade-off? As you can imagine from a big powerful weapon, it is heavy and has high recoil. Even with mods, the recoil will always be a problem. So, similar to the M-300 Claymore, The Black Widow is only for players willing to risk for the sake of great rewards.

For those players, they will find that this weapon is perfect for the Soldier and Infiltrator class. Most of all, in combination with the Adrenaline Rush ability. The highest potential of this weapon is best at the hands of the Infiltrator class. Maxing out the Marksman feat and creatively using the Tactical Cloak ability, nothing can stop them.
