[Top 10] Hearthstone Best Arena Class (Ranked)

The road from a 0-3 to a 12-0 isn't easy. But with the right tricks up your sleeve, you can succeed on this journey.

Arena is a great way to test out your skills in Hearthstone. The drafting mode offers players the choice to make a custom deck of 30 cards. Each card has to be picked from a choice of three, leading to a wildly different experience each time.

With Festival of Legends, Blizzard managed to shake up the Arena meta quite a bit. Andthere are a bunch of really interesting class choices for those that want to dabble in the mode.

So, without further ado, here are the best Arena classes in Hearthstone currently.

10. Hunter

All about going face with big beasts, this is one class that's a party animal.

So, for this expansion, Blizzard decided to go really in the “Big Hunter” direction. And news flash for them, it’s not really working out too well.

Hunter’s currently sitting at a shocking 38.1% win rate, according to HSReplay.net data, which isn’t great at all. While much of their cards don’t work well for the Arena format, there are a couple that really stand out.

The existing synergy between Arrow Smith and Jungle Jammer is quite nice.
Especially when paired up with Bunch of Bananas and Barrel of Monkeys.
These spells work well together and can lead to some pretty significant results.

In general, you’ll wanna pick Hunter if:

You’re really experienced with the class, and can perform well, even though it’s relatively on the weaker end currently.
Would like to try out the spell package Blizzard has added with Festival of Legends. The inherent synergy present there is strong, it’s not mind-blowing still.
Want to try out the new Hunter cards that have been added in the expansion like Harmonica Soloist. It may be underrated due to its poor stat line, but it can still provide around 4.5 worth of value for only 3 mana.

So, while Hunter didn't get any super powerful cards compared to other classes, they still have some solid options to work with.

9. Druid

For a class that's all about protecting nature, they sure do like to attack others a lot.

The main themes for Druid in this expansion are about gaining Attack/Armor. This is mainly doneby improving your Hero Power over the course of the game. But that’s not all, because Druids have also gotten a sizable Big package.

The reason why the class is still on the lower-end for Arena right now is pretty clear. Gaining attack/armor traditionally aren’t the best strategies.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re decent, but with other classes being powerhouse cards, simply gaining +1 Attack or +1 Armor each time you Hero Power just cannot keep up.

And with Big Druid, that’s never really been able to work in Arena because Druid traditionally doesn’t have the removal to play a late-game control class, where they can afford to miss turns due to how big their deck is. With all that said, Druid got real good cards this expansion.

Drum Circle is a big board or a big board buff.
Groovy Cat, if played early on enough, can completely change the game by making your hero power +2 attack.
Summer Flowerchild is a solid statted 5 that generally draws 2.
Timber Tambourine is a little slow, but has a ton of potential by just playing stuff on curve.

All of these cards are great cards that provide a ton of tempo or value for their cost.

If you’re looking to play Druid, these reasons should be why:

You’re sure you can draft cards that include some of the stronger options Druid has gotten, like Drum Circle.
You can play Druid well enough to succeed in the late-game, even with the class’s inability to counter strong late-game threats.
You’re not committing too much to the “improving your Hero Power” game plan, since that doesn’t lead to much success.

8. Rogue

Sneaky and secret -- Rogues are the perfect fit for people that have social anxiety.

Rogues got cards that deal with weapon damage and combos. But, weapon damage and using the dagger to gain advantage isn’t nearly as strong as it once was, and the Combo synergy isn’t really a thing in Arena.

It exists, but it’s not something you can rely on. So ultimately, looking at their FoL cards, they’re mostly mediocre. They don’t have a single card that breaks an 80, and only 2 cards that break a 70.

The class, which was once considered the king of Arena, definitely seems to be struggling against better competition these days, which is a bit of a shame. Much of this comes down to the classes’ poor additions, most notably in FoL.

Beatboxer would be much better if it were minions only, the fact it needs the combo and can hit the hero hurts its reliability, but is still the best card they have.
Harmonic Hip-Hop is a solid removal, but that’s it for top cards. This is a horrible set overall for Rogue, the worst set by far of any of the classes in FoL.
Breakdance can be seen as a 1-mana generate a card, give your minion Rush or Windfury. To me, a better Rocket Boots, which would be a low to mid-tier card.

With that said, Rogue should only be a consideration for:

Long-term players of the class who are able to make the most out of its combo arsenal.
Anyone that generally is used to making the best use out of its Hero Power.
Or for players that have the tempo-based game plan the class offers down to a T.

7. Paladin

Paladins may be blinging out with their amazing cards in Standard but Arena is a completely different disco.

The big theme for Paladins this time around is Divine Shield, but being Arena, you aren’t that likely to have much Divine Shield synergy. So it comes down to their cards being independently strong, which a lot of them are.

Disco Maul has the easiest to trigger of the Weapon Upgrades and is great on curve. Annoy-o-Troupe, even as an Epic, will be a great late-game card in the same vein as Voidlord for its repeating down on a theme.
Harmonic Disco is a great mid-game tempo swing. Funkfin and Jitterbug, while rated low by the community, do bring Divine Shield energy to the table, which is great. The class offers some really strong cards this time around.
Funkfin is particularly great. It starts as a 4/2, then becomes a 2/2 after pinging off the shield. That by itself should put it over most 3-drops with mild upside. The effect is just a bonus.
With Disco Maul, the most likely scenario is you play this on 2, hit something, play a minion on 3, hit something, minion gets +2/2. While a 2/2 on 2, it curves so well into a good power-play.
Harmonic Disco. The Dissonant version is better. It’s a lot more consistent to get, bare minimum, a 6/6, and likely a 6/8 or things with Divine Shield. The 5 mana version is also good. There are some cards that can benefit from +1/1, but there’s a lot more strong battlecry/poor stat cards that impact the overall quality.

Consider going for Paladin if:

You don’t plan on over relying on its Divine Shield energy because there isn’t a lot of it going around.
You can make a decent mid-range deck by selecting some of the important cards like Funkfin and Disco Maul.
You want to opt for more control strategies with Annoy-o-Troupe as a good late-game stabilizing tool.

6. Demon Hunter

The edgiest of edge, the Demon Hunters are a surprisingly sharp choice this time around.

DH got some really good cards this expansion. Their all-encompassing theme is removal, either from weapons or rush minions. The only card that isn’t tied to Rush/Weapons is Taste of Chaos, which is just a great removal.

Since so many of their cards are removal, you’re naturally going to get real good cards from this. Glaivetar is a Truesilver that draws a card, and can draw more with Outcast cards.

In terms of Finale, DH has bonuses and problems with this. The 1 mana Hero Power allows for more precise mixing and matching to set up a Finale, so in some regards they do this better than other classes.

Taste of Chaos remains a good all-around pick. Discover at the end of a turn is worse than Discover when you need to find an answer. Still, this is basically a Runed Orb for one mana less, and you often do have that extra mana to fill in on turns.
Glaivetar is also a solid addition to any deck. A 4/2 weapon draw a card, that’s going to be great. You probably won’t trigger the Outcast effect, but that doesn’t really matter.
Going Down Swinging, while tough to draft, is a solid addition too. Consider it a 6 mana spell that deals three damage to all enemies. Sounds good, right?

This means that you should play Demon Hunter when:

You’re confident you can make good use out of its removal package.
You’re looking for longer-games that involve you chipping away at your opponent’s minions with the DH’s many available removal tools.
You don’t mind dealing with some of the inherent issues that come with the Finale mechanic and the class’s 1-Mana Hero Power.

5. Mage

Once a king of Arena, Mage is sorta lagging behind these days.

Mage got Big Mage Spell synergy cards, while not getting Big Mage Spells. The only ones in standard after the rotations are Firelands, Arcane Defenders, and Deathbourne. Point being, even if those cards were good in Arena, which they generally aren’t, there isn’t much that they can copy.

As for the cards themselves:

Holotechnician is probably the most busted card in the set, as it’s a Vilespine you can activate every turn if protected.
Beyond that, Synthesize is great because of a lot of cards for 1 mana, plus how strong some of the RNG elementals can be.
Cosmic Keyboard is great because you pay a small cost for the potential tempo swing, much less than other classes.
And Volume Up and Audio Splitter are good for their abilities to generate a lot of cards for their value.

This makes Mage a good class in the situation that you:

Want to play a deck that curves out well, with strong initial starters like Synthesize.
Would like some good removal and draw options with Holotechnician and Volume Up.
Don’t want to opt for big spell options because frankly, there aren’t that many available.

4. Death Knight

The newest kid on the block is also one of the strongest, you can't really go wrong with Death Knight.

DK follows with its rune themes, with Blood being about hand-buffs and health manipulation, Unholy being about board spam, and Frost being about powerful removals.

This set is focused on Blood. This is a minor detriment to DK because Blood is the weakest of the three specs.

Overall, the cards are solid for DK. There are a couple of real good cards, one Blood and one Frost, but most of the cards are built around Constructed synergies that you won’t be able to get in Arena.

The blood synergies are strong, but there’s no telling if you’ll have the right combo to get them to activate, which that lack of reliability hurts when focusing on that specific spec.

Hardcore Cultist is the new Consecration on a stick. By itself, a 3 mana 2/1 that deals 2 damage is already good.
With Arcanite Ripper, assuming you’re attacking things with 1 or more attack, on breaking you get a 3/3 Lifesteal minion bare minimum, and heals do exist to buff this up.
Screaming Banshee, while not working at full Health, still gives you a 3/3 whenever it attacks. By the time it’s turn five, you’re bound to have taken some hits.

This makes Death Knight a great consideration for when:

You’re fine with playing a more control-focused strategy.
Want to make the best use of the classes' arsenal of removal and healing.
Can navigate the environment well with the new sweeping Discover changes added to the class.

3. Priest

Remember when Priest used to be the worst Arena class? Good times, good times.

Overheal is a thing now, and many of the new cards are based around this. The small issue is, there just aren’t that many cards with Overheal effects. You have 3 in the new Core, and 2 in this set, one of which is legendary.

So taking cards to bank on Overheal and its benefit isn’t worth it, so the cards need to be valued on their own. In Constructed, I could see some of these being a lot better, but for Arena, most of these aren’t that great.

To Priest’s benefit, they get one of the top 5 cards in the expansion in:

Harmonic Pop, whose only detriment is the lack of reliability due to being a Harmonic card, and it’s Rare so it’s not going to be that uncommon.
Shadow Chord: Distort is another solid removal for Priest.
Heartthrob and Fight Over Me are both good cards, and Heartthrob can be real good if you have any of the extra heal cards, including things like Sunfury Clergy.

Priest seems to be in a great position currently because:

The class has some amazing control tools available to them. Especially the new Harmonic/Discordant card.
With solid removals like Shadow Chord: Distort in the rotation, this card should be ideal for players that like the longer games.
Just be careful not to get too focused on the Overheal mechanic since there just isn’t that much support for it currently.

2. Shaman

Now this is definitely a class you wanna keep an eye out for.

Shaman got overload synergy and luckily for them, one of the best cards in the set is an Overload card. The class started off a bit weak, but certain powerhouse cards have allowed it to rise to the top of the Arena rankings for this meta.

It offers quite a lot of traditionally strong Arena cards, and with some key options that allow for “infinite value”, it’s a great consideration overall.

Pack the House is a 7 mana card that gives you, on average, 14 mana worth of stuff on the board, over 4 bodies, in a world without Flamestrike. It’s really, really overpowered.
Brass Elemental is just an incredibly versatile removal option and sustain option, allowing you to get to T7 to Pack the House.
Saxophone Soloist is also pretty amazing. Soloist’s ability to just keep on adding cards to your hand, to always let you be able to curve out, is going to be an underrated value in the card.

Opting for Shaman is a good option in general, but even better if you:

Are good at controlling the game plan till around the mid-game. This is when you play your powerhouse cards like Pack the House.
Know when to trade and when to go face, to make the best use of cards like Brass Elemental.
Can succeed in keeping a strong focus on your game plan with Soloist, since it is a nearly endless amount of value in the right cases.

1. Warrior

Hail to the king, baby. Warrior stands at the top of the Arena meta right now, and good reason.

Warriors have Riffs. Yes, they suck for Constructed, but they’re actually really good in Arena. And honestly insane with the recent buffs.

Internal set synergy in Arena generally doesn’t work, but because the cards don’t have to be in hand, they are worth paying attention to.

They also have mild Menagerie synergy, but two of the key cards are Epic and Legendary. And the rare can’t come out on curve and is more a mid to late game removal card.

Overall, their best card is Roaring Applause, because you will have various minions, and you can pretty much guarantee 2 mana draw 2, and it’s easy to draw much more.

Other than that, they still have solid cards.

Bridge Riff is a really good development + removal card.
Drum Soloist is a good removal option for when you’re behind.
Power Slider can get real good real easy in Arena.
And Kodohide Drumkit, while weak as a weapon, the fact that you can build up the deathrattle and basically dare your opponent to develop while they know you can just wipe the board easily. There are mind games you can play with that.

Warrior is mainly at the top for a few key reasons:

The recent buffs it received really put it over the top.
The class was already decent before, but now it’s one of the top classes in Arena.
The Riff package is simple to play, and can easily be added into most kinds of decks.
The other support the class received translates well for the Arena format.

Hearthstone's been out for almost 10 years and you're just now thinking of getting into it?

Hearthstone was an instant hit since its release all the way back in March 2014. But after nearly a decade, does the game still hold up?

Well, that’s what I’ll be letting you know in this review. Just a heads-up, this is a completely unbiased review. And I’ll be judging the game fairly, with the experiences of different kinds of users in mind.

So, without further ado, let’s dive right in.

About Hearthstone

Blizzard's hit digital card game offers a familiar but fresh experience to its players.

So, for those who may not know,Hearthstone is a digital card game that takes players into Blizzard’s Warcraft universe. Players can collect and play hundreds of cards featuring some of the most iconic spells and characters from Warcraft.

If you’re a long-time fan of the franchise, get ready to go down memory lane when you play this game. It’s filled with amazing nostalgia, and is honestly pretty fun. So, it’s not a surprise that the game became an instant classic when it was first released.

Fans were drawn to its simple yet interesting gameplay. And it helped that it was free to play too. This helped the game get over 10 million players in just its first month.

This number soared to about 20 million within its first year. So, the game’s popularity was nothing short of amazing back then.

But of course, 10 years is a LONG time. And while Hearthstone still manages to bring in a decent amount of players, it’s nowhere near the numbers it had during its prime. According to Activeplayer.io, the game currently has about 5.3 million active users each month. Don’t get me wrong, it's still a huge player-base for most games, but by Hearthstone’s own standards, it’s a small fraction of what the player base could be.

Hearthstone Story

Imagine a massive fiery elemental going head-to-head with an evil mind-controlled Lich and you get Hearthstone.

Now, since Hearthstone is a card game, it doesn’t really have a story to go through in the traditional sense.

There are short PVE campaigns that players can do to unlock some extra cards and cosmetic items, but that’s not exactly the focus of the game.

But hey, they’re fun enough that you’re going to have a blast playing through them. Like I said, you’ll be seeing tons of iconic Warcraft heroes and villains in this.

And Blizzard isn’t afraid to have fun with the IP either. Each of their expansions have a unique theme, and sometimes they really go crazy with it, adding Hearthstone’s very own flavor and style to each chosen theme.

Hearthstone Gameplay

Simple yet engaging: Hearthstone’s combat is the foundation on which the entire game is built upon.

A brief look at the basic gameplay that the digital card game offers.

Hearthstone’s gameplay is the definition of easy to learn, hard to master. It’s the perfect stepping stone for people who may be new to card games.

That’s because it offers a very curated starting experience to newbies, but gets progressively more complex and layered as you unlock new cards and strategies.

There are a total of 11 classes in Hearthstone currently. Some of which will be locked at first, but all of them are available to play for free. Players can make decks of 30 cards for each of these classes. And they all come equipped with their own unique minions, spells and weapons.

This adds a ton of variety in the gameplay, allowing you to try out different decks using each class’s unique set of tactics and available tools. The game also features neutral cards, which are spells and minions that can go into decks of all classes.

Because of these, you can still make a decent deck for a class you may not have a lot of class cards for. It also means that Hearthstone has near-endless replayability, because you will never really run out of decks to play and try out for each of these different classes.

That said, not all classes are always at their best. Sometimes, due to balance issues, a couple of them really become overpowered. So it becomes a matter of whether you want to play what’s “good” or what’s more “fun”. And that’s not always an easy choice to make.

Hearthstone Combat

Simple animations help to make the game's combat feel punchy but satisfying.

It's not exactly high-octane action but in the heat of the moment, it really can feel intense.

The main “combat” in Hearthstone happens between minions in the game. These are a type of cards that represent creatures that you control.

After paying a specific mana cost for them, you can place these on the battlefield. On your next turn, these minions will be ready to attack, and they can either attack your opponent’s face, or their minions.

Most of the time, heroes in Hearthstone will have 30 Health. And to win, you simply need to bring them down to 0 by attacking them with your minions enough times. Sounds easy enough, right?

Well, that’s where spells come in. These are another type of card that allows you to carry out instant effects. Take the Mage’s Blizzard spell for example, which freezes enemy minions and deals 2 damage to them.

These are a great way to remain in control during a game, while keeping your opponent’s board in check. Finally, some classes also have access to weapons. As you’d expect, these can be equipped and they let you swing to deal damage either to your opponent, or to their minions.

And some of them even come with unique effects, which make them a really cool addition to most decks.

Hearthstone Quest/Mission System

Battle Passes in a card game? Yup, you read that right.

Like many other games nowadays, Hearthstone features a Battle Pass, as well as daily and weekly quests.

As you complete these quests, you’ll get XP that upgrades your BP level, unlocking gold, cosmetic upgrades and new cards.

The Battle Pass is divided into a paid and a free version, with the free one having fewer cosmetic rewards.

Generally, the quests are pretty easy to do. They usually involve playing games with a specific class, or winning some in a certain game mode.

But if you want to progress through your Battle Pass, you’ll need to make sure you log in every couple of days and knock out these quests.

Otherwise, you’ll stay behind and won’t be able to reach Level 100 before the season ends.

Hearthstone Graphics

Flashy: Hearthstone’s colorful spell effects and unique art style help to make each encounter feel interesting.

The game keeps upping the graphics each year with improved effects.

As a card game, Hearthstone doesn’t really have the most-cutting edge graphics. But don’t worry, its unique art style will definitely keep you interested. Especially because it still holds up in 2023.

Each card in Hearthstone comes with its own unique art, sound effects and animations. There are also other cosmetic additions that help to keep the game visually appealing.

Like the “battlefield” or board that changes from game-to-game. Or the different portraits for your heroes. It’s not as extensive as I’d like to be, but hey, it’s still a decent way to customize the experience.

Hearthstone Developer

Not really as big of a titan of the industry as they once used to be but they're hanging in there.

Hearthstone has been developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Yup, the same company behind other genre-defining games like Overwatch, Diablo, and World of Warcraft.

While the company’s gone through a lot of controversy in recent years, the Hearthstone team is actually one of the better ones they have available.

They often listen to their community, and this can best be seen by how vocal they are on social media platforms like Twitter or Reddit.

Whenever fans complain about overpowered or underpowered cards, they are usually quick to address everyone’s concerns with a balance patch or two.

That said, there are still issues that plague the game, most notably in the form of bugs. Hearthstone can be a mess to play on mobile devices, with frequent disconnects and glitches ruining an otherwise fun experience.

Hearthstone Price

You're going to need a bucket of gold if you want to get all the best cards each expansion.

This is the biggest negative about the game. As fun as Hearthstone is to play, it’s extremely expensive. While yes, the base game is available for free, to unlock the newest, and often the best cards, you’ll have to spend quite a bit of money.

The game releases a new expansion every 4 months, and usually, the pre-order bundles cost around $50 to $80. And get this, they don’t even unlock all the cards.

After getting one such bundle, you’ll roughly get half of the new set, which isn’t a lot, considering the cost is as much as a full triple-A game nowadays.

Many have even called the game out for being paid to win, but I’d say it’s more along the lines of being “pay to have fun”. If you grind hard enough, you can probably get a decent deck or two for free.

But if you really want to have fun and try out all the different decks and strategies, the game has to offer, you’re going to need to spend a pretty penny.

The game also offers cosmetic purchases, as well as an in-game Battle Pass system. And all purchases you make are kept on your account, whether you’re playing on PC or on mobile.

FINAL VERDICT

Overall, Hearthstone is still a great choice for those looking to dip their toes into the digital card game genre. It offers the excitement of slinging cards with epic effects, while offering the simplicity that others in the genre lack.

But starting out in 2023 can be tough for beginners, especially with the frequent expansion releases. If you’re a F2P player, you may need to limit your expectations based on what you can and can’t play.

Pros

Simple to start playing.
Offers a diverse set of classes with unique strategies.
Great art style, sound effects and animations.
Frequent balance updates that keep the meta interesting.
Lots of unique modes that allow players to change their style of playing.
Doesn’t require knowledge of card games.

Cons

People who aren’t fans of the Warcraft universe may not find the setting as engaging.
Suffers from glitches and bugs, especially on mobile.
Not very F2P-friendly, especially for newer players who don’t already have a large collection.

Diablo Immortal vs Diablo 3: Top 10 differences

At present, there are two games from the series that stand out, and I am referring to Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal. Released in 2012, the third instalment of this series (Diablo 3) broke records as it garnered 4.7 million players on the very first day of its launch! Continuing to break the barriers in this rapidly evolving tech world that we live in, Diablo Immortal has infiltrated the mobile gaming space as well. It has been nominated for the Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2022.

Both games are truly successful, however, you can’t help but wonder what their differences are, which is why you are here. As Diablo 3 was fully a PC game and Diablo Immortal isn’t, it was bound to have some reconstruction, making it even totally distinct if you look into the gameplay of both worlds.

10. Game Progression

Diablo games are known for their punishing campaigns, and this is what Diablo 3 delivered to the fans. It also had dungeons where players could farm items in the quest to obtain legendary pieces. The newer Diablo Immortal still has the same two concepts, however, they have added Elder Rifts which drops legendary gems, Challenge Rifts that enable increased drop rate/rewards according to character level, and also the Helliquary wherein players are to team up to beat the weekly bosses in hopes of obtaining rare armour and weaponry, and to build their combat rating as well.

9. Seasons Galore

Diablo 3 is still an active game to date as it caters a system which pushes players to try out various classes, as the heroes reset on each season. On the other hand, Diablo Immortal does not have any resets as it just gives out frequent patches and adds up content along the process.

8. Genre Distinction

RPGs and MMOs do have their similarities and differences as well. Diablo 3 tends to be a more casual game, compared to Diablo Immortal which functions more as an MMO that requires players to grind on a daily basis if you don't want to get left behind.

7. Formidable Content

As it focuses more on the campaign side, Diablo 3 is invested on the PvE (Player-versus-Enemy) aspect, making the quest runs sometimes nearly impossible to conquer. Whereas Diablo Immortal does not feel to have the same level of difficulty as that of Diablo 3.

6. Hero Customisation

It is quite handy to be able to customise your character the way you want them as it makes you stand out even more. Not just on the visual aspects of customisation but rather on the paragon builds of the game. Diablo 3 offers more versatility with this compared to Diablo Immortal wherein there still is some room for customisation but it is just minimal.

5. Money Matters

In Diablo 3, everything that the players would achieve is obtained from their struggles in the game. If you have been playing Diablo 3 prior to Diablo Immortal, this might be one of the issues that could discourage you from playing any further, as sadly, Diablo Immortal has a Pay-to-win structure and the game is dominated by the big whales in each server.

4. Assault the Arena!

Don’t let your guard down just yet, because Diablo Immortal has something to offer that the previous series didn’t have, and this is Player-versus-Player battles! This is indeed one of the best highlights in Diablo Immortal as players team up and just assault other characters in a brawl where a team guards the ancient heart of the base and the opposition pushes to infiltrate them.

3. Experience express

Winston’s weapon in its golden form can be quite intimidating. It is very noticeable during fights, especially when he dives toward your team. The Werewolf legendary skin has a great design for the weapon with its wooden design, and I think adding a mix of golden gun skin to it makes it look great.

As far as dual-wielding weapons go, Reaper’s golden gun looks sick during highlight intros or even in-game. Even with legendary skins, the golden skin is a pretty nice touch to add. although it can be a little bit too gold. For the screenshot, it is under the Cursed Captain, which kind of adds the golden gun skin nicely, lore-wise. Although, as for the default Overwatch 2 skin, it has a great balance of gold for the skin.

18. Cassidy

Cassidy’s revolver is a well-designed gun, even if you do not have the golden gun skin. It still looks amazing. If you add the golden gun skin on top of it, I like that it retains the handle color, so the color is not too gold but blends the gray perfectly with the gold. A legendary skin was used for this, and the default skin for Overwatch 2 does look decent as well.

17. Lucio

Lucio, despite having a small weapon, actually has great golden gun skins, even for default skins. This one is under the Ribbit legendary skin, and it perfectly blends the green and blue with the gold skin. The same is true for Lucio's other skins.

Ana’s golden gun skin is well done, and it actually blends nicely with the blue overlay that remained from the basic skin. It is not too gold to hurt the eyes; it is just very nicely done for the most part. It is also a definite step up from the Overwatch 1 golden gun skin.

There are only a few flying heroes in Overwatch 2, and if you are intermediate at flying, you can be an unstoppable hero even if the team has hitscan attacks.

Overwatch 2 is a 5v5 team-based action game in which squad lineups and outstanding teamwork are both required to win games. Whether you are defending your team as a tank, healing or boosting your squad as a support, or dealing all-out damage with a DPS hero, each role requires complete dedication because missing even one player would most certainly ruin the team.

If you are new to Overwatch 2, the large roster can be intimidating because each hero has their own set of skills. However, after you get into a groove after a while of playing, it is truly enjoyable, especially if you play with others.

Here are some of the best team lineups for Overwatch 2.

5. Moira + Winston/D.Va + Sombra + Reaper + Junkrat/D.Va (Open Queue)

This is what I call a Solo Healer Team Lineup, and it actually works quite well in open queue, since I achieved platinum V as a solo support in Overwatch 2. Due to the fact that you have two tanks or three DPS heroes, this lineup works only in Open Queue quick play or competitive matches.

This team's main tactic is to keep pushing and diving with D.Va or Winston, both of whom are quite mobile for a tank. D.Va can put pressure on characters like Widowmaker, Junkrat, or even the opponent team's support. Sombra and Reaper excel at attacking the enemy from behind. A good Sombra can even play the entire game without dying if she knows when to withdraw. Reaper, on the other hand, possesses the most powerful ultimate, Death Blossom. If properly positioned, this can wipe out the entire opponent team, but if he is still filling up his ultimate, he can also flank with Sombra.

Junkrat and D.Va, the remaining characters in the team composition, can truly put pressure on the opposing team because these two heroes are very annoying to be up against. Solo Healer Team Lineup details:

Moira (Healer) - The most important hero in this team. Highly recommend to throw Biotic Orbs that heal teammates as her heal gets emptied out easily on clashes. Chip away enemies with her damage, and be patient with her ultimate as it can be crucial in healing the whole team, or destroying the other team.
Winston and/or D.Va (Tank) - Winston and D.Va are great for diving. If the team is planning to use both, they can add tremendous pressure against the other team, especially with Winston since despite the range of his weapon, it is pretty powerful in close combat. As for D.Va, she can easily maneuver on higher ground to chase away DPS or healer that is hiding. Her ultimate is essential in clearing an objective as well.
Sombra (DPS) - Sombra is one of the best heroes in Overwatch 2 as she can flank very well, and escape unharmed most of the time. She can disable enemies’ skills, which can open up many openings for the team to dive.
Reaper (DPS) - Another hero that can flank well is Reaper, and his ultimate is possibly one that can wipe a team if done correctly. He can easily escape after flanking with his wraith form.
Junkrat (DPS) - If the team is not planning to use two tanks, Junkrat has a versatile skill set. He can lay traps to avoid flanks, and he can fire while being hidden from view. His ultimate can also wipe a team. He is very good at pressuring the other team.

This team lineup is another Open Queue game mode exclusive. It is well known as the Unstoppable Two-Tank Team Lineup, and it is very adaptable, but the team composition in this article is the most optimized.

The core tactic consists of two tanks, two support tanks, and one DPS. Why, you might ask? If you are defending a checkpoint or an objective, having tanks that can be backed from afar by Ana will make you the team invincible, and Orisa's Fortify skill and Sigma's Experimental Barrier are both quite effective at preventing attackers from advancing to the checkpoint.

Again, this team lineup is fairly customizable because Sigma and Roadhog can be swapped out. Furthermore, whether to use Soldier 76 or Mei is dependent on the situation. Mei excels at protecting and flanking opponents. Soldier 76 is a self-sustaining DPS who might be useful with his auto aim ultimate, Tactical Visor. Moira and Baptiste are interchangeable as other supports aside from Ana, but Baptiste can be a superior support while Moira can be a better attacker.

This is one of the greatest defensive team compositions you can utilize, especially on payload matches because the two tanks can easily contest a checkpoint. Ana's Sleep Dart and Biotic Grenade can even prevent flanking. The other support can focus entirely on healing the tanks and DPS on the frontlines.

Unstoppable Two-Tank Team Lineup details:

Orisa (Tank) - With her rework from the first Overwatch game, she became a very powerful tank that can hold an objective on her own. Keep spamming her Energy Javelin, although it is best used to stop enemies from using their ultimate. Javelin Spin enemies to push them off the objective.
Sigma/Roadhog (Tank) - Sigma can be used to support Orisa with his shield and can negate incoming projectiles. Roadhog, on the other hand, is mostly used to pressure enemies. He can be self-sustained with his Take a Breather skill, and his hook can kill the support from the other team easily.
Soldier 76/ Mei (DPS) - Soldier 76 is best used against enemies that are far away. It means the team is up against Widowmaker, Echo, or Pharah, then Soldier 76 is needed to be in the lineup. On the other hand, Mei can be great at flanking enemies and be an annoying hero since she can turn into ice with Cryo-freeze, and her ultimate works well with Moira.
Moira/Baptiste (Support) - Moira, as seen on the other lineup, is a great support and can be a great DPS as well. She can support Mei or chip away from enemies from behind. On the other hand, Baptiste can support both tanks very well, and his ultimate can be quite a team wiper if done right.
Ana (Support) - Ana is great at healing both tanks and the other support. Her Biotic Grenade can do AoE healing, while enemies that are caught in the bomb cannot be healed. She can also perform anti-flank with her sleeping dart. Her ultimate can complement Moira's ultimate.

3. Lucio + Zarya + Baptiste + Genji + Sojourn

Moving on to the role queue, it is actually more difficult to win in this queue than in open queue because compatibility with the team is required, and each member must be able to play their role very well.

Given from the name of the lineup, Genji and Sojourn should consider using their ultimate whenever Zarya uses hers as it can wipe two enemies at once, or even the full team. Sojourn can be more confident as she can use her ultimate to pressure enemies from afar, but Genji will undoubtedly benefit alongside Zarya's ultimate. Baptiste's skill sets are excellent at holding a checkpoint, and the immortality field is a welcome addition given Lucio's slow heal if not boosted.

Ultimate Killer Lineup excels in:

High output damage from both DPS. Both Sojourn and Genji can wipe a team easily with their ultimate.
Zarya is a great tank for both attacking and defending, so she is very versatile on any map. Her ultimate is great at controlling enemies as well, which works well if she has a 100% particle cannon as she can wipe the team as well.
Lucio is one of the most used heroes as he can be played by anyone, and his skill is AoE so all you have to do is shoot and use his skills to speed up or heal allies.
Baptiste complements the team very well. His skills can stop his allies from dying, while his ultimate can wipe the other team.
This team composition is highly compatible with each other considering Zarya and Genji ultimate combo, for example, can easily wipe a team with ease.

Ultimate Killer Lineup details:

Lucio (Support) - the main point of Lucio is to survive. His speed boost can help his allies to reach objectives faster, while his healing boost can sustain everyone inside the circle. Ride the walls as much as possible to evade enemies’ attacks, and spam Soundwave as much as possible, especially if people are on edge to push them away successfully.
Zarya (Tank) - a highly versatile tank, which can create barriers for herself and others. These barriers can increase the damage output of her particle cannon as long as it is being shot at by enemies. Make sure to reach it until 100% before she starts firing to release the maximum damage output. It can actually wipe out a team if Zarya manages to kill the support first.
Baptiste (Support) - Baptiste complements this team very well. For one, his immortality field is really handy once Genji retreats back to the team’s location. His ultimate can increase the damage output of all allies.
Genji (DPS) - a very powerful DPS that can wipe teams with his ultimate, Dragonblade. Flank enemies from behind, then retreat swiftly. Do a hit n’ run tactic, and avoid engagement against heroes that can lock their aim at you. Keep using deflect and aim it towards the enemies to try and kill them instead.
Sojourn (DPS) - although a new character, Sojourn skills are very helpful, especially her Disruptor Shot that can deal AoE damage, and it is quite powerful. She is best played to complement Zarya and your healers. Her ultimate, Overclock, can wipe a team, especially if each charge is a headshot.

2. Junker Queen + Lucio + Brigitte + Genji + Sojourn

Overwatch 2 is a fast-paced game, a swift team will undoubtedly have an advantage, hence this is known as the Aggressive Team Lineup.

The key strategy is to move fast and overwhelm the opponent side with swift attacks, while maintaining overall team sustainability. This lineup performs best on attack payload and pushes the robot game mode in the role queue. Junker Queen will be the main hero because her abilities can buff her teammates as well, therefore having Lucio as a support would be fantastic. Her abilities also cause wound damage, triggering her passive healing. Brigitte must stay close to Junker Queen in order to heal her as much as possible, as Junker Queen has lower health than other tanks.

Genji and Sojourn's strategy is similar to the Ultimate Killer Lineup in that they are both extremely powerful DPS in their own right. If you are playing as the DPS, keep in mind that Brigitte and Lucio's heals aren't always as quick as others. Lucio and Brigitte ultimates can help both teams defend and attack, which is ideal for an aggressive composition.

Another approach for this team is to use Brigitte as a small tank alongside Junker Queen. Her skills and shield can certainly mitigate some of the opponents' damage, but Junker Queen should body block shots away from Brigitte. Lucio's survivability is constantly high. This team is one of the finest in clashes since Genji, Brigitte, and Junker Queen are all excellent in close range confrontations, and Sojourn and Lucio can apply pressure to the enemies effectively behind Junker Queen.

Ultimate Killer Lineup excels in:

Going quick and taking over the objective once the initial battle is done. For the payload objective, it can easily push the payload as you keep pressuring the enemies.
Junker Queen, Brigitte, and Lucio complement each other very well with their own buffs, and it actually trinkles towards other allies as well.
Powerful DPS to wipe out the team, and with the help of Lucio and Brigitte, you can easily win clashes of ultimates.
Brigitte can work as a mini tank, thus, it is like having two tanks in the lineup. This works well considering this team works best on being aggressive attackers, and Junker Queen and Brigitte both excel on close-range battles.
Being one of the best attacking lineups, if you want to keep pressuring enemies off, while they are regrouping. Unfortunately, it may not work best as a defending lineup considering Junker Queen has a lower health than other tanks.

Ultimate Killer Lineup details:

Lucio (Support) - Lucio will be great at supporting all allies with his healing boost. Counter enemies with Sound Barrier when they use their ultimates. Use speed boost when retreating, and keep riding the walls to avoid getting attacked.
Junker Queen (Tank) - Keep attacking and spam your skills to wound enemies. Wound damage triggers your passive healing. She is a very powerful close range battles, and her skills actually buff other heroes.
Brigitte (Support) - Get close with Junker Queen as much as possible, while supporting Lucio. You can be a mini tank by using your Barrier Shield and Shield Bash. Use the ultimate, Rally, to buff your allies when attacking key objectives.
Genji (DPS) - Genji is one of the most powerful DPS out there if done right. His ultimate, Dragonblade, can be used to wipe the team, and with buffs coming left and right, it increases that chance to dominate a battle.
Sojourn (DPS) - Similar to Genji, Sojourn has high output damage, especially her secondary fire. She can also slide, which helps a lot when trying to retreat. Spam Disruptor Shot on locations where enemies may push or defend.

1. Winston + Kiriko + Lucio + Sojourn + Reaper

There is a lineup that has recently dominated the Overwatch 2 League (esports), which we will refer to as the Pro Team Lineup. The majority of the heroes in this lineup have an usage rate of around 90%, and they dominated the league tournament a few weeks ago.

However, this seems to stem from the fact that this team counters each other. Winston can counter Sojourn, while Reaper can counter Winston. Lucio and Kiriko can support Winston's dive since Kiriko can teleport to a nearby ally, and Lucio has always been a staple in Overwatch with his high survivability.

The main strategy with this team is to dive with Winston while Reaper flanks the enemy from behind. Kiriko has a Swift Step, which makes her very mobile to support her teammates, so she can support both Winston and Reaper, although it is best to utilize Lucio for healing everyone within his range while Kiriko is focused on priority healing or whoever has low health. Sojourn, as seen on the list above, can hold her own considering she can slide away from conflict to get better positioning and that her skills are quite powerful and can disperse enemies.

Given that this is the lineup that the majority of pro players used during the esports Overwatch 2 league tournament, it is safe to say that this will be the meta until major changes are implemented after this season.

Pro Team Lineup excels in:

A perfect balance considering Winston and Reaper are great at close-range battles, while Sojourn works best on midrange and long-range battles.
The supports can heal allies such as Lucio with his own healing boost, which is an area of effect. Kiriko, on the other hand, focuses on debuffing allies and healing one ally, and it is usually the one diving or flanking.
Diving and picking off enemies one by one. Sojourn’s Disruptor Shot can scatter enemies quickly as it can be quite overpowered, then Winston and Reaper can pick them off easily.
Lucio speed boost and Kiriko’s Kitsune Rush can help the team be aggressive attackers, especially on clutch.
A straightforward team that can be used in all maps, and can easily be mastered even by new players

Pro Team Lineup details:

Lucio (Support) - As one of the best support out there, Lucio has a very high survivability, which is great when you are contesting objectives. His buff in speed and heal can really affect the outcome of the game, especially the Sound Barrier. Stick close with Sojourn and Reaper since Winston will be diving a lot.
Winston (Tank) - This tank can counter most of the long-range heroes such as Widowmaker or Sojourn. His Barrier Projector is quite sturdy and can block multiple attacks to defend a spot as well. His attack can disperse enemies quickly, which can help Reaper kill them off one by one in a flank maneuver.
Kiriko (Support) - Despite being a new hero, Kiriko is a great support with her Protection Suzu skills, and Swift Step that teleports her directly to an ally.
Reaper (DPS) - Reaper is great in close-range battle, and he is a great hero for flanking. He can self-sustain himself since he steals health from enemies every time he damages them. His wraith form can help him escape or go to an ideal placement to do his ultimate, Death Blossom, to wipe the team.
Sojourn (DPS) - is currently one of the most popular DPS right now, and it is because she is quite overpowered right now. She can powerslide, which makes it fun when maneuvering around your enemy. Her Disruptor Shot is powerful enough that enemies run away from it as it can easily kill them. Her secondary fire and ultimate, Overclock, can wipe a team.
