[Top 10] Eternal Return Best Characters That Are Amazing (2022 Edition)

Have you Struggled grinding rank only to get destroyed by characters who you hardly recognize? Well, I have and it sucks. So in this list I will share with you the best characters to play solo, heading into Season 5.

This list will be based off the pre season patch notes and watching various tournament placements.

10. Daniel

The Barber not from Fleet Street

Our demonic barber squeaks into the bottom of the list. He has been receiving nerfs for the last 2 patches now but all well earned. Give this man an inch and he will take much more than a mile from you.

Personally I find him slippery as a fish in water, he has high mobility, decent burst and an execute that makes him the best character to get ahead with and maintain that advantage. He is extremely viable in solo but takes a lot of practice to be played effectively.

The recent nerfs have made him a lot slower with his skill rotation and removes his ability to kite unless you can predict like a god. I know I can't, so here are the good and bad points of note.

Pros

High damage
Ultimate is an execute, escape tool, and self protection
Can dash through walls
High mobility
Good Escape tools

Cons

Almost 0 CC
Growing Inspiration (W) takes getting used to before it is used properly
Q has a relatively long cooldown so landing it is crucial
Needs to be ahead to stay relevant
Almost no catch up potential.

9. Aya

Sniper, Rifles, Pistols, all of these and more

This gun toting dame takes the 9th slot as I have averaged the performances of her three weapon styles. Each style has their own playstyle and effectiveness, however for this list we are looking at her solo performance.

I personally think that Assault Rifle Aya is the best for Solo but her performance as Sniper Aya is a strong contender depending on your play style. If you like a more ability heavy caster like build where you have to land your skill shots then Sniper is the way to go, if you want to kite and right click the enemies down then Assault rifle is for you.

She remains balanced even after five seasons of this game, stating how stable she is as a character.. However with the changes to the scaling of weapon mastery we can expect a big change and buff to her already strong sniper build.

Pros

Has a build for almost any occasion
Strong ranged damage and a kit that attacks from a safe distance
Gains a shield when she attacks making her tankier than expected
Can dash over walls and attack while moving
Fast Build that can be completed in 3-4 zones

Cons

She can only do 1 thing at a time either burst or DPS
Ult is a liability as it makes you stand still
Still really easy to kill once caught
Needs room to fight/ needs to kite
Has to be ahead or else is too weak

8. Echion

Faster than the eye can see

This character uses a unique weapon, the VF Prosthetic. Along with mana he also has a blood gauge to manage while fighting. He may seem weak but you better watch out because this guy has a lot more than meets the eye.

Personally I find this character an extreme nuisance when fighting against. While he takes awhile to get to full build and requires a lot of the rare materials like meteorites, or Trees of Life, even at a disadvantage his skills are strong enough to win convincingly.

He is one of the newer characters introduced before season 5 and takes a surprising amount of skill to learn and play competitively. However once you have learned his basics you will only win more as you master him. He is by no means a simple character but he rewards hard work well.

Pros

Extremely high mobility
High consistent damage
Good burst potential
Can survive burst from 1 character
Really good at 1 vs 1

Cons

High skill floor
On the slower side for building (5-6 zones)
Needs to get lucky with Meteorite/ Tree of Life
Weak when VF meter is empty
Most abilities are hard to aim and land while moving fast.

7. Jackie

Here's Jackie!

This crazed axe murderer goes around with a chainsaw and has 4 styles of play, however the stronger ones are the Axe and Two handed sword. She is a tanky bruiser with a Sword, and a damage dealing tank with the Axe. So let's see what makes her tick.

Recent changes have buffed her so that when she uses her ultimate and pulls out the chainsaw it is near impossible to beat her in a duel. Along with her passive that gives her flat damage she hits like a truck and moves like one as well.

I played Jackie a lot when I was getting out of silver and even when it is your first time playing her it is hard to get punished as your basic abilities gather a lot of mileage even with only a few points of investment.

Pros

Easy to Learn and master
Hits hard and fast
Can jump over walls
Skills have relatively low cooldowns
Tanky and depending on weapon either mobile or hits harder.

Cons

Slow build (5-6 Zones)
Easily Kited once movement is on cooldown
Hard to stick to enemies (no slows or stuns)
Needs to auto attack for damage
Lacks Complexity for outplaying

6. Aiden

Lightning Fast, and just as deadly

The most recent addition to the Eternal Return roster (as of this article) this lighting wielder is an interesting character to play as he is both ranged and melee. Combine that with a series of skills that rely on landing them for the damage half to be dealt leads to a bruiser with the potential to chase characters down to the end of the earth.

I have not played as Aiden much but I have played against plenty of Aidens. He is the kind of character where if you dodge his skill shots then he does no damage, but if lands them in succession then you will see that gray screen faster than you can even type GG.

As he is new there are no changes made to him yet, but because he is new they are testing new mechanics and his transformation mechanic is on the strong side. As you fight with him he will slowly gain energy to turn into a ranged character, and once you try to escape him he will shoot you down.

Pros

Good CC
Can fight from melee and ranged forcing duels to the death
Strong abilities and Ultimate
Can cut off Escape routes
High chase potential

Cons

Relatively long cooldowns
Needs to land skills otherwise low damage
Can get chased down if he does not win on engagement
Sometimes the change in attack range causes a crucial skill to miss
Loses to characters who can sustain or out damage him

5. Luke

Always Stuck on Cleanup Duty

This Janitor- assassin is here to clean up the competition. If you have ever wanted to play a secret agent who is great at finishing enemies off then this man is the one for you, He has only 1 weapon so his builds are relatively similar and are quick to finish.

While at first he seems complicated with his evolution mechanic it is deceptively easy to learn his kit and how to best apply it. His entire kit screams “let me at them” as he has no utility in his base skills, so when you go in, be confident that you will win the fight.

Unlike the other assassin on this list, this janitor does less sneaking around and escaping, he focuses more on deleting the enemy off the map and pressuring them into engaging into him.

Pros

Has a skill with siphon (Lifesteal) with big damage
Skills literally evolve while leveling up to gain more utility
High burst in a 1 vs 1 situation
Has a slow and a stun along with high damage
If combo’d correctly he can repeatedly cast his skills until the target is dead.

Cons

Cannot escape if in a bad engagement
Must constantly be farming, (weak if animals are denied)
Can be killed easilyif any of his skills miss
Deceptively squishy (He survives with his Siphon)
Has no dashes

4. Adela

A little castling never hurt anyone

The chessmaster is here to play 4D chess while everyone else is still playing checkers. Once mastered this lady will destroy anyone who comes her way both in melee and in mid range. If you want to show how much larger your brain is, and enjoy predictions and preparations then this lady is for you.

She is a difficult to learn and master character however the pay off is immense as the depths of skill she can go and setup into will absolutely destroy any unready competitor.

While you could say that she is a duelist, she is much more vulnerable to attacks and more often then not tries to avoid those close encounters.

Pros

High CC
Can CC lock certain characters to death
Has a skill that grants invulnerability
Turns into a mid ranged character once leveled
Good survivability and self protection

Cons

Easy to kill once skills are on cooldown
Requires a lot of prediction and planning to use skills properly
A misclick will ruin the entire combo
High skill floor
Can run out of mana fast in an extended fight.

3. Chloe

Playtime's just started

The puppeteer never fights alone, with Nina at her side any 1 vs 1 easily turns into a 2 vs 1. While gathering resources or crafting, Nina is always available to kill animals or scout out any enemies you may hear heading towards you.

I think that she requires a lot of micro control, something I am horrible at. However her power and damage speaks for itself when in competent hands. She goes hard and hits harder so watch out if you see the small doll heading towards you.

How fast are your hands? Because if you think you are fast enough then this character will absolutely destroy people, especially with her shuriken weapon skill she can slow anyone while zooming at them at mach speeds.

Pros

Can gain weapon levels while gathering and crafting
Basically turns any fight into a 2 vs 1
High sustained damage
Can easily get ahead and maintain the lead
High movement speed and has a dash

Cons

Squishy
Gets extremely weak if Nina dies
Hard to come back if griefed early on
Requires a high hand speed and micro control
Nina is easily killed

2. Nadine

Hunter of Hunters, The Hunter Hunter even

The huntress is one of two characters who can scale infinitely in this game, so the longer this goes on the stronger she gets. Combine that and her mobility and ranged nature lets her be an absolute beast at kiting enemies till death and chasing them down if they run away.

I have played both as her and against her and I will say that a fully charged Q feels amazing to hit late game, likewise it feels dreadful if it hits you at that stage. She is mobile and has zoning tools to keep enemies from jumping on her too fast.

With the new boar mechanics in the game Nadine has an even easier time farming the animals as she can move along via boar express. She can spot animals on the minimap and knows when they are taken by enemies. So if you know how to get ahead in your farming she is the character to maintain that advantage.

Pros

Disgustingly strong poke
Good at sustained fights
Can zone and slow characters approaching her
A versatile dash that can curve and juke if placed correctly
Scales infinitely

Cons

Weak early on in the game
Really squishy
More often dies when the enemy reaches her
People focus you early because it is hard to kill you later in the game
Requires knowledge in pathing (for herself and enemies) for killing the most animals fastest.

1. Xiukai

Time to cook up the competition

This is the last scaling character and unlike Nadine his scaling increases his HP and damage. It's the full set and since there is very little percent health damage in the game you can usually outlast anyone you run into late game.

Personally I find this character difficult but rewarding, relatively low cooldowns mixed with high scaling leads this guy to destroy most 1 vs 1 fights, and even against characters designed to kite he can close in and slowly whittle them down to death.

This Chef requires knowledge in the cooking recipes and where to get ingredients. So there is a level of game knowledge required to play him correctly as he scales based on the food he cooks.

Pros

Really tanky late game
Some of his skills scale based on his Max HP so it does tons of damage later on
Is always cooking so you always have food and SP regen on hand
Can easily “Wok” away if the fight gets tough
Has good CC to combo someone to death

Cons

Cooking eats up a lot of SP, so SP management is a must
Knowledge of Cooking recipes and ingredient locations are a necessity
Really weak early on
People will focus you because your food is empowered and you will scale too hard

So that is the list. While there were many contenders to make it into any of these spots, these are the characters that are fun to play and make you say “wow” when you manage to learn them and skillfully win all your matches.

[Top 5] Eternal Return Best Solo Characters That Wreck Hard!

Hello again everyone!

Now sometimes everyone gets that itch to play solo. A chance to show off your skills and really play like the pros do. After all, in solo there is no revival, so it turns the game into a true survival battle royale.

Of course, you wouldn't want to enter a solo game with a team based player right? Or worse yet a fully support focused character. To stand the best fighting chance at beating players 1 vs 1, or even 1 vs 2 if you get third partied, here is the list of the top 5 characters to play solo.

Just as a reminder before we start the list, every character is viable in all modes of play, everyone is balanced to play a certain way and while some characters may counter that play style they are also strong against other characters. No character is inherently weaker than another, some just take less skill to learn how to effectively use them.

I will also be choosing specific weapons when it comes to characters with multiple weapon builds. With that said and done let's get started.

5. Yuki

His looks are only dwarfed by his skill with a blade

It is easy to learn and looks good while playing. Yuki is the posterboy of Eternal Return; armed with a katana his best solo build is the two handed sword build. It has the health and defense that his dual sword build lacks while still having a respectable amount of damage.
This character is armed with a stun, an auto attack reset and a variety of skills that let him keep attacking, this character has enough depth that there will always be something to discover as you play him. He is a 4 zone character who gets his purple weapon at the 2nd zone, meaning that he can start fighting and gaining weapon levels early on.
Personally I think he deserves the 5th spot because of how anyone can pick him up and be effective while simultaneously a skilled Yuki player can destroy a lobby. His kit allows him to duel anyone to a victory and also escape getting ganked. He has the right balance of all kinds of skills to let anyone learn the game and win future games. While some say that a jack of all trades is a master of none, I say that it is still better than a master of one.

4. Eleven

All dressed up and ready to kill

This hamburger helper hits hard and tanks harder. While she looks friendly don't let that fool you, she can destroy anyone given enough time and keep herself topped up while it happens. In a solo game her AoE taunt may accidentally end up getting more than your target attacking you but her healing and jump more than make up for it.
Her skills all have an empowered version after being charged, and she relies on attacking enemies with her hamburger and picking up the smaller sliders that drop when she lands hits. The combination of healing from her sliders and damage from her charged abilities can surprise the unprepared due to her burst healing and burst damage.
Personally, her only flaw is that she needs to keep attacking her enemy to play around most of her kit. Even that problem is solved with her massive amount of slows and her one giant leap. Escaping is near impossible if she catches you off guard, and if you try to turn and fight she can hit her ultimate and give you a good beating for even trying. So I would put her 4th here because she can beat just about anyone in the lobby so long as she can get her items.

3. Echion

Armed, hehe, and ready

This VF blood based duelist is exceptionally strong in solos; in good hands he can 1 vs 2 and sometimes 1 vs 3 as his mobility lets him gather resources and fight sooner. His damage puts him on par with some assassins and has a shield to make him deceptively tanky. One of his only weaknesses is his vulnerability to CC but assuming he can see it coming he could dash away from it with one of his 2 dashes.
Echion makes it back to this list because of his complexity and high damage. To a new player he may not make too much sense but to a practiced player he turns into a lethal weapon with massive amounts of damage he can dish out in an instant. Powered by his VF bar, it takes mindful management to make sure that he does not empty the bar before a fight. When it is full he enters an empowered state that lets him duel just about anyone in the game right now.
Personally I put the top 3 in interchangeable positions depending on what play style you like playing more, Echion is my least compatible having to be extremely fast and reactive to dodge skills and activating his skill combo requires aiming and prediction with a small window of pause to give the enemy minimal time to react to it. He strikes strong and swift, but only in the hands of someone equally fast.

2. Chloe

All Dolled up for this moment

This doll master comes in at 2nd due to her innate advantage over everyone else: her doll. Fighting the two of them is similar to fighting 1.5 characters. Always at a numbers advantage she can multitask, both fighting and gathering at the same time. Her build is also quite fast to complete so she can get to the fighting earlier than other people can even dream of.
Her abilities revolve around piloting Nina to attack while timing her defensive buffs to when the enemy begins to counter attack. Her attacks timed with Nina’s can stun or knock up enemies to keep them away from her. With her ultimate she can cleanse all debuffs on her and Nina and make that chain that connects them do damage as well.
Personally she can progress herself at immense speeds and protect herself from would-be harassers. She can harass safely and if ever Nina dies she can be revived at the cost of health. She goes fast, and can dash over walls in a pinch. With her and Nina it would be hard pressed to ever put them on the back foot.

1.Jackie

The only Chainsaw I need is mine.

Taking the top spot would be Jackie, the chainsaw wielding psychopath. As a solo she can basically beat any character one on one so long as you are relatively close in levels and gear. Her kit maximizes her damage and damage output while also healing her each time she auto attacks.
Her axe build is the best for solos, as it lets her survive attacks and dish out damage to heal herself once again. Her axe ability combined with her blood rage speeds up her normally abysmal attack speed to a comparable level of a sword.
Personally I like her play style, with her W and passive she can deal the most damage per auto attack in the game. Combined with the fact that her upgrades are easy to attain so long as you can get either a VF blood or a Tree of Life she is the premier duelist in Solos in my opinion.

And that is the list of characters I believe to be the best at Solo. This is excluding personal skill of course because an extremely skilled player will usually trump a noob at the game no matter the character.

We’re back and this time I hope you’ve got your buddy with you because we will be going over the best duo teams to play in this new season.

With the recent changes to revival, mechanics expect the characters in this list to take advantage of that while your partner or you wait to get revived. Now onto the list.

10. Silvia + Leon

A Surfer and a Cyclist walk into a church, ever heard that one?

Let’s take a look at the 10th best pair and consider it the benchmark for future pairs. Silvia is the racer, a girl riding a motorcycle who can switch between ranged and melee. She has good aoe damage, as well as slows and speed ups to go along with her motorcycle. Leon on the other hand is a bruiser with a knack for CC, though requires a little bit of setup to land them guaranteed. He also has a shield and a big aoe push that carries enemies along with him for the ride.
How this pair works is that Silvia can engage while Leon protects her and targets his CC while the enemy is distracted by Silvia going in on her motorbike. Once she has dished out her AOE damage, Leon takes over as the main tank landing his CC and carrying them further away from Silvia who will shoot them from afar.
There is great synergy between the two because Silvia creates an opportunity for Leon to gather and CC the opposing group then dish out the damage while they are still being controlled by Leon.
I would rate this team a 5/10 as the baseline because a tanky enough squad will survive and then lash out, or their CC could be avoided, their characters could also get straight up killed by a higher damage team if they mess up their timings.

9. Zahir +Hyejin

Mystics and Magicians unite

This pair are both ranged characters, both deal good amounts of damage, and both have CC in one form or another.
Zahir is a ranged caster who can spam his Q and W to deal large amounts of poke while also setting up for his E to knock up enemies in case they approach him. Then when CC’d he can combo his skills with his ultimate to create a large AOE damage zone.
Hyejin on the other hand has a small area root, an inbuilt fear, and high damage as well as a dash to get out of a sticky situation. While her poke is not the best she makes up for it in free hitting as the enemy is CC’d or feared preventing them from hitting her.
This pair does a lot of damage and has skills on relatively low cooldowns, so once they have their weapons going they can abuse other pairs who may be still scavenging for the right resources to create their weapons. Pair their harass with an anti engage fear and this pair becomes a nuisance to deal with.
I would rate this team a 7/10, they lost to mobile enemies who can avoid their skills or enemies with control immunity or the ability to become invulnerable as in a sustained fight Zahir will eventually fall off in damage as he runs out of Q’s to throw and Hyejin cannot out damage 2 people at once.

8. Aya + Isol

Guns and Traps, Perfect Harmony

Again two ranged characters here, maybe we’re seeing a pattern? Anyway, both of these characters can initiate a battle from far away and continuously kite until their attackers die due to their control of the range.
Aya is played as an assault rifle in this duo as that sustained damage is more sought after over her bursty sniper build. With her dash and high attack speed, she can easily outrun and outgun anyone who chases her.
Isol on the other hand can start a fight with her conic W shooting everything in range then quickly repositioning with her E to go invisible and roll away. Combine that with a plethora of traps and you can set up a minefield that the enemy must slog through to even hope and reach you.
Combined they can turn any position into a deathtrap if you are unprepared. Conversely, playing as them requires a lot of farming and a good idea of how far you need to be to fight effectively. The two of them can kite enemies out, and with Aya acting as an emergency tank with her inbuilt shield, both characters have free reign to attack anyone at their leisure.
I would also rate this a 7/10 because without traps they have to play near perfectly to avoid getting caught by an enemy and they are weak to ambushes. Aya’s shield can only protect her from a middling amount of damage so concentrated fire can and will absolutely tear her to shreds.

7. Chiara + Aiden

Dark Magic and Lightning, are a perfect combination to make a sorcerer.

Double melee this time with a twist, as both of these characters, can become ranged if given the right circumstances.
Chiara is an assassin posing as a bruiser with her life steal and exploding shield. When she uses her Ult she turns into a fallen angel, becoming ranged and gaining access to execution when the enemy is low enough.
Aiden is a bruiser with good chase and CC potential. He can lock off zones with his ult making enemies think twice before entering his lightning storm and walk right into his sword’s waiting arms.
Combined they are a powerful ambush team and can play on the back foot as well having great single target damage burst to quickly turn a 2 vs 2 into a 2 vs 1. With Aiden’s CC and Chiara’s slows and roots, no 1 target can get away from whoever they set their sights on as they focus down any pair one person at a time.
I would rate this team an 8/10, with the recent changes to revival they have to spread their CC out more otherwise killing 1 member of the pair and letting the other go lets them revive 30 seconds later. However, this does introduce an angle to farm that pair as they will now be on the backfoot and easily killed for weapon levels.

6. Magnus + Zahir

What do a Biker and a Magician have in common? Blink and you'll miss them.

One melee and one DPS; an age-old pair that still stands strong even today. Magnus plays as the tank with slows, stuns, and armor reduction while Zahir has knockups, and large burst making this pair a threat to run into.
Magnus in this team builds half tank half bruiser, his role is to keep the enemies near him while Zahir does most of the damage for him. His Q slows while his W reduces armor, and under the right circumstances his weapon skill as well. He can stun with his E and chase down enemies or even finish them off with his ult.
Zahir returns to this list one more time as the damage of the pair. With consistent chakrams being thrown and the occasional tornado to ensure that Magnus can lock down the enemy this pair is terrifying to fight and a nightmare to accidentally encounter.
As a pair, they form the traditional DPS and tank pairing where one locks down the enemy while the other does the damage. It is not like the enemy wants to let the Zahir hit them for free but rather they cannot do anything about it.
I would rate this pair an 8/10, much like the last pair with the new revival mechanic it will be difficult to eliminate a pair early as most of Zahir’s damage is single target but it is difficult to overcome this pair as Magnus can provide enough peel to let Zahir attack freely.

5. Zahir + Rio

Shoot fast, then maybe Shoot faster.

Zahir is here once again and this time with the archer Rio. Rio is a great poke archer who can also deal consistent Dps at midrange. Fighting the two of them involves dodging a great many skillshots and hoping that your HP will last you as you try to get into attack range.
Rio can switch between her long-range damage form and her mid-ranged sustained damage. Combine that with 2 different poking abilities and a dash and this lady is as slippery as an eel.
Zahir, well everything has already been said about Zahir already but as a quick summary, he plays as damage and pokes in this pairing.
As a pair, they will whittle you down as you approach them and make sure that you will never touch them as they kite you and CC you to death. Even trying to escape won't do anything as Rio can snipe you from a screen away.
I would rate them 8/10. I have fought with a good Zahir Rio pair once before and I have never felt more miserable watching my health whittle away while they slowly kite me to my death. It's a good pair.

4. Cathy + Celine

Two bombshells throwing bombs how ironic.

This pair is interesting, I personally would not have believed in its effectiveness unless I saw it first hand and I have to admit that this team messed me up.
Cathy is an assassin, while she does have some minor healing when casting her Ult most of her kit revolves around landing her skills on the same target for a big burst of damage.
Celine on the other hand throws bombs all over the place. From regular explosives to pushback bombs to bombs that combine into one massive bomb, this explosives expert is a tough character to reach unharmed.
Combined Celine can dish out damage fast and while the enemy is trying to focus her down Cathy can stun the pair with her E or vice versa can throw her whole combo at the enemy while Celine sets up her massive bomb.
I would rate this team a 9/10. Aside from the surprise factor, they can come online quite early into the game and have so much burst damage in an aoe that a caster or another assassin will 100% die before they even realize what hit them.

3. Isol + Celine

You can never have enough explosions.

Welcome back to Saw, the character pair. Both of these trappers can set up traps pretty fast and can plant bombs in a heartbeat. It is something to keep in mind as you try to fight them.
In this Isol is the consistent source of DPS, and her traps are more like a bonus to this pair’s destructive force,
Likewise, Celine here is more likely to chain her bombs together rather than build that one big bomb for burst. Throwing her bombs out to corral the opponent rather than aiming to kill them in one cycle, but if they offer themselves up then she will 100 to 0 someone.
I would also rate this team a 9/10, you never want to fight them in the final zone due to how much of the map they can control at that point, and you never want to chase them either due to the possibility of walking into their collective minefield. A strong team if not an annoying one.

2. Hyunwoo + Silvia

Go fast and kick A**

This pair functions like the Silvia Leon pair but much better. Hyunwoo replaces Leon and is tankier as well as does more damage given the right circumstances. Those circumstances are given to him by Silvia in this pairing.
Hyunwoo is a character whose abilities get stronger the more health he has. He has a slow, a dash that can stun, a shield that gives CC immunity, and a windup ult that does massive damage if it lands.
Silvia in this team plays melee more than ranged as she slows and AOEs the enemies down to set up for Hyunwoo’s massive punch.
I would rate this pair a 9/10, they are honestly really strong even if their only hard CC is Hyunwoo’s stun. With how Silvia functions it is really easy for the Hyunwoo to stun the enemy then hit his fully charged ultimate to deal 50% of both enemies' health bars. It even helps that if they need to escape Hyunwoo can just casually walk out while Silvia rides away on her bike.

1. Luke + Sua

A janitor and a librarian. The perfect cleanup squad

Our Final pair stars 2 melee characters. Luke the assassin and Sua the melee caster. Their CC and burst damage make them a headache to fight as you have to hope to either avoid everything or kill one of them first before they can combo you to death.
Luke can engage with his Q, running up to the opponent hit by it, he can also sustain in the fight by using his Q as it heals him for a percent of damage dealt. Every one of his skills deals damage to a single enemy and lowers his Qs cooldown when upgraded.
Sua has CC for days, with a stun, a blind, a knock-up, and her ultimate which repeats any one of her skills again with a slightly longer cooldown. She can also give someone CC immunity if she doesn't want to blind the enemy.
Combined it either creates the perfect situation for Luke: an engagement on a CC’d enemy or lets Sua dish out her bursty damage while the enemy is distracted by the mop in their face. In either scenario, once one of their skills land on you you have to hope that your teammate can get away so you can revive later.
I would rate this team a 9/10, while on paper this pair seems extremely strong, it requires a skilled pair to time all of their CC like this together so that the enemy has no chance of responding. It also hinges on the enemy not having sustain or any way to escape this CC lock such as Sua’s shield.
That is the list of pairs I believe are the best. Of course, people who are skilled in a particular character can pair together and trump these pairs as a skill that will always triumph over in-game mechanics. But these are easy to play together and are extremely pleasing to see work.

[Top 10] Eternal Return Best Food That Are Excellent

Welcome back everyone, are you feeling hungry for that Win? Well In Eternal Return food may be more impactful than it seems. The regen may actually play more of a part in combat than most would be led to believe.

These foods are based on how easy it is to gather the ingredients, the amount restored, and how much experience you gain from crafting these items. After all, if you come into a fight with a higher level and higher regen, then it is more often than not in the bag.

With that let's get to it.

10. First Aid Kit

Simple to use, Harder to find.

Taking the 10th spot on our list is one of the few items that heal you for a good chunk of HP 1000 points in fact. While this amount may seem like a lot. The difficulty lies in obtaining this item.

When it comes to late game the burst healing that this item can offer is second to none, however, there is only 1 copy of this item in every match you play.

What makes it good

There is only 1 so no one else can have another

How to make it

Kill Wickelene and obtain it

So if you are in the lead usually you would not have to use this item as with the Wick buff and with generally higher weapon levels you would save this for an all-in fight. Of course, you must still respect the 1000 HP regen it provides as the next closest item recovers 740.

9. Tear of Selene

The moon isn't the only thing crying

Taking up the 9th slot is an item that is more common than the last and provides a massive SP regen it even gives you attack power which is a rare effect in Eternal Return on food and beverage.

This item can get your SP back to full in no time, however, it does pose the problem that normally you would never hit that low of an SP count even if you were constantly fighting because you would have been drinking other beverages to give you that SP you need.

What makes it good

Gives a stat buff of +10 Atk
Heals 1080 SP
Highest SP regen in the game
Will get your SP to fighting levels in a few seconds

How to make it

Gather stones from any location
Water can be found from Starting inventory, Pond, Hotel, Cemetery, or Forest
Meteorite can be found from random drops, blue boxes, and Wolves and Bears over level 14

So with the exuberant cost of a meteorite, it is an item that is hard to make, and if you do get a meteorite why not craft it into a permanent item? Of course, if you are full build and using it to deny the item from others then this is still nothing to scoff at.

8. Holy Water

Water with the Hell boiled out of it.

Aside from being an essential item to Johan, this item is the other stat-giving item in the game. It is much simpler to make compared to the previous however it does come with the drawback of an even rarer material, Mithril.

Usage wise this item is best for denying Mithril, on Johans for their passive, and for a quick burst of healing while in a brawl with other players. While it may seem deceptively simple to make there are many other things that Mithril can be used for, as well as the late spawning time of Mithril making it difficult to get yet wanted by many.

What makes it good

Gives a stat buff of +10 Def
Heals 750 HP Regen
Keeps you alive longer with the combination of healing and buff
Also good to use in preparation since the defense buff lasts for a while.

How to make it

Water can be found from Starting inventory, Pond, Hotel, Cemetery, or Forest
Mithril can be found from Alpha, Wiickeline, Bears, and Wolves over level 14

So due to the first Mithril spawning on Alpha, it becomes hard to get a hold of one, and there are even games where you will never see one because it has been crafted into a permanent item. However, no one can deny that putting this on a tank makes them that much more effective.

7. Iced Coffee

Perfect for those hot days on Lumia island.

What puts this drink higher up on this list is the ease of access paired with the relatively high SP regen this item provides. It also is commonly found in the locations that caster type characters and skill scaling characters tend to go through to find their gear.

While it is an uncommon item, meaning the crafting exp it gives is low, the item is created exceptionally fast and can be found along the way. The only drawback is that if you are aiming to craft this in the late game, it is almost impossible to find as Ice is commonly used by most casters for their extension item.

What makes it good

Both items have 1 spawn location they share and 2 others they don’t
Restores 380SP
When crafted comes with 2 charges
The lower-ranked you are the more likely these items are untouched
It will sustain you for the early game

How to make it

Ice is found in Hospital, Hotel, and Cemetery
Coffee is found in Uptown, Dock, and Cemetery

Overall this is a good early game item to make if you are moving through the cemetery as your first to the third zone. If you need to use ice for crafting this is, even more, better since ice is found in 2s meaning one can be used for your item and the other for this drink.

6. Soju

Just a little sip won't hurt.

Moving on to SP regen this does not apply to every character as some naturally regen faster and use less as they go along their predetermined routes. Of course this means that for casters and high usage characters this item would be a godsend in terms of ease of access and can be made into a healing item if the situation demands it.

Made from Alcohol and Water, this item only takes a few seconds to craft and gives enough SP regen that you can focus on gathering rather than having to sit down and recover SP that way. Most characters even pass through zones with Alcohol in it so if you need a drink pick this item up.

Alcohol is less used than other materials

With how often characters spawn in Hospital or School this item is easy to make if you remember it and if you find 2 alcohols all 4 Soju can stack only taking up 1 slot instead of 2 for inventory space.

5. Oriental Concoction

Secret Mixtures and Tonics for All.

Secret Medicine and herbal spices this healing item falls into the rare category but is quite easy to make and is usually accessible by anyone keeping an eye out for it. It has a good HP regen for the early game and can carry you to stronger items mid game while you fight both animals and other players.

This item is crafted from oriental herbs, water, and a lighter. Now Lighters are one of the most sought-after items in the game, mostly due to how many food combinations are made from lighters. So if you are starting in a zone with a lighter such as Factory, Alley, or School make sure to pick up a few of these along the way.

What makes it good

Lighters are found in bulk around starting spawn locations or second zones for most characters.
Restores 525 HP
Comes with 3 charges
Denying lighters prevents other players from cooking and making higher tier equipment
Most ignore Oriental Herbs early on so they are usually abundant in Forest and Temple.

How to make it

Lighters can be found from Dock, Factory, Alley or School.
Water can be found from Starting inventory, Pond, Hotel, Cemetery, or Forest
Oriental Herbs can be found from Forest, Pond or Temple

In total that is a 525 HP Regen item that is simple to make and usually found along the way. Can be used thrice before running out and can be used in the later stages of the game as the regen it provides is sizable.

4. Baked Carp

Cooked? Grilled? it's all the same when eaten.

This item makes it on the list over its Seaside brother because it restores a little more HP while being virtually the same item. Fish and stones are a never ending resource so long as the game goes on long enough and lighters can be gathered early on.

While this item may seem bad because you must drop everything to fish up Carp; if you look at the mid to late game you are most likely going to be pushed inland meaning that rather than waiting for something to happen you can fish and cook these instead.

What makes it good

Can always be made at any point in the game
Heals 525 HP regen
Comes with 3 charges
The crafting recipe essentially allows you to make this item twice so 6 charges

How to make it

Carp are caught in Forest, Pond, and Cemetery
Stones are gathered from any location
Lighters can be found from Dock, Factory, Alley, or School.
Heated Stones can drop from green boxes, Bears, and Wolves at all levels.

From early game to late game you can always attempt to create this item as animals also drop the completed heated stone required to cook the fish, so long as the zone is not closed you can always fish up more food to cook for yourself.

3. White Russian

Milk? I've got the next best thing.

Coffee, Alcohol, and Milk make for a good time. Even in Eternal Return, this drink allows you to regen SP fast enough to keep with a full-on fight for that little bit of time needed to secure a kill.

While these items are not necessarily next to each other, they can be collected along the way when walking from one zone to another. The SP regen is massive and it gives a good chunk of crafting exp as it is a rare item.

What makes it good

Meant for late game but can be collected early
Restores 750 SP
Comes with 4 Charges
Its components Coffee Liqueur and Milk comes in 2 charges each so you could make 8 white russians, but the maximum capacity is 6

How to make it

Coffee is found in Uptown, Dock, and Cemetery
Alcohol is found in Hospital, Factory, and School
Milk is found in Chapel, Avenue, and Hospital
Coffee Liqueur can be found in green boxes.

What makes this item placed so high is that its SP regen paired with the common materials used to create this makes it a low investment high reward item that can be found and crafted at any point in the game so long as you keep moving and playing the game.

2. Fried Chicken

Still Finger Lickin Good

This item is easy to make so long as you keep on hunting and powering yourself up in the game. Because of its ease of accessibility, most players would tend to have the materials in their inventories or pick them up right from the start so you either have to do the same or kill players who are weaker than you to get these items.

This item has a great payout when it is crafted, it can even be cooked straight from the Bear’s inventory if you are lucky, saving you precious inventory space. While not the highest healing in the game it stands over its heated stone counterpart Steak due to the additional health regen it can provide.

What makes it good

Easy to craft, and others will also likely have either the heated oil or fried chicken.
Heals 550HP Regen
Comes with 2 charges when cooked
Meat is easily gathered so you can make more chicken.
550 is just at the threshold of being able to sustain most people in a fight.

How to make it

Lighters can be found from Dock, Factory, Alley or School.
Oil can be found from Archery Range, Factory, Uptown, and Avenue
Meat can be gathered from Boars, Wolves, Bears, and Chickens.
Heated oil can drop from Bears, Wolves, and green boxes.

With how often you have to hunt animals you could get lucky and chance on heated oil to make this craft easier to accomplish, along with the meat that comes from those animals its practically served to you on a silver platter.

1. Choco Pie Box

A little Chocolate goes a long way

This item is easy to make and gives a good amount of healing at the same time. It has a quick crafting time as a rare item and more HP Regen than most of the other items in the same category. Of course it has its own drawbacks being its relatively difficult to collect materials and distance between collection points.

Made from Bread, Chocolate, and a Box this item starts out with you already 1/3rd of the way there. So long as you are able to keep your bread and make your way to some chocolate you can make chocobread which can heal in an emergency but combined with a neat little box and you’ve got yourself one of the best healing items in the game.

What makes it good

Items are easy to collect early and are found next to each other
Heals 622HP regen
Comes with 2 charges when cooked
Ingredients are not often picked up due to their lack of options

How to make it

Bread is found in the Starting Inventory, Hospital, and School
Chocolate is found in Uptown, Avenue, and Archery Range
Box is found in Dock, Pond, and Chapel

This item is deceptively easy to make as collecting the ingredients is as simple as moving to the next zone rather than having to teleport across the map. It has good HP regen and comes with 2 charges which puts it at the top of my list.
