Time to Swoon over the lovers of Heleus.

If there’s one thing that Bioware has gotten right in the past, it’s their romance options. While the romance pool in Mass Effect Andromeda was controversial during its 2017 release, the diversity of them is well appreciated now. Here’s a breakdown (never a break-up) of the romance options offered in Mass Effect Andromeda and inclusive videos on how to get that sweet, sweet ending.

MALE RYDER:

Avela Kjar

Full Romance: Avela Kjar Romance

Being one of Andromeda's shorter romances, the Repository of History curator becomes ever more interested in the Pathfinder after they complete a mission for them. They recover a pre-war helmet of an Angaran that was targeted by the Scourge on the planet Havarl. They quickly bond over history and awkward moments of our sweet Angaran not fully realizing she's being flirted with by the newest species to grace their solar system. Overall, an adorable romance with a history buff.

Cora Harper

Full Romance: Cora Harper Romance

The Asari huntress trained human is a walking badass. Cora is very much set in her ways. Those ways are the Asari code, the Initiative dream, and her plants. However, Ryder doesn't have too much trouble wiggling their way into her heart as the story progresses. Cora was a character that took a bit of time for me to warm up to but with everything that she’s been through, she’s understandably fired up, if you will. Still, Cora is a favorite amongst players.

Gil Brodie

Full Romance: Gil Brodie Romance

Our charismatic chief engineer of the Tempest gives Ryder a run for their credits and then some. Quite literally, if you participate in a poker game. Gil is a lovable character by nature so it’s easy for Ryder to fall for him. The feelings are mutual quickly and confidently with Ryder from the very beginning. The fact that Ryder and Gil are going to have sweet, potentially red-headed, babies running around? Queue the squeals!

FEMALE RYDER:

Liam Kosta

Full Romance: Liam Kosta Romance

My very first romance-play through was with our goofball Initiative security and response specialist. He is upbeat to a fault, has a particular way he wants his smuggled sofa into the Tempest and a vintage car that’s waiting for him to drive around with Ryder beside him. The date near Prodromos is delightful and bright in comparison to the harsh reality that has hit the Initiative thus far.

Dr. Suvi Anwar

Full Romance: Dr. Suvi Anwar Romance

What is there not to love about this socially awkward science girl? Her accent, her eccentric ways to see what new minerals are made of (you read that right, you just had to be there), and her belief system upholding across time and space make her a wholesome option. Her earnest feelings towards Ryder are believable and sweet.

BOTH MALE AND FEMALE RYDER:

Pelessaria (Peebee) B’Sayle

Full Romance: Peebee Romance

Easily the most rambunctious member of the Tempest, Pelessaria- or Peebee- comes in like a tornado and continues to stir up trouble for Ryder and the rest of the team. From her explosive entrance, a killer back-handed punch, and just flat out bolting from the Tempest just when things are about to get interesting. Peebee has some of the funnier commentary in the Nomad as well. If you're looking for a more chaotic, keep you on your toes but also equally rewarding romance, Peebee is your Asari.

Vetra Nyx

Full Romance (Female Ryder): Vetra Nyx Romance

Having a Turian Romance option takes us right back to the original trilogy and how all the feelings for an alien species started for a lot of us. Vetra is full-of-life and loyal to her family, blood-related and not, to a fault. My favorite moments are when she tries to smuggle the Tempest off the Nexus and every moment with her sister. That’s when you know you have a good companion. Her romance feels natural for both male and female Ryders.

Reyes Vidal

Full Romance: Reyes Vidal Romance

King of the ‘wink and walk’- Oh, I had some initial feelings about this smuggler, information broker and so much more. Reyes is introduced on Kadara and stays a solid fixture when you're there. It's easy to get wrapped up in the charisma of his character. Every scene with Reyes is filled with tension that exudes from a confident character like him. I’d have to say that of all the awesome options available, he was definitely my favorite.

Keri T’Vessa

Full Romance: Keri T'Vessa Romance

This short but sweet romance with the reporter of the Initiative is quirky to a fault. When things take a turn with her reports, the moment Ryder goes to her and states they’ll protect her is incredibly sweet. There isn’t enough of an ending to this romance but, that final excited “You always come back!” makes my heart so happy.

Jaal Ama Darav

Full Romance: Jaal Ama Darav Romance

Jaal’s romance came as a close second for me- for many reasons. His open disposition, family-oriented lifestyle, and honest admissions of affection to Ryder make him the sweetest bean. The Anagran companion has been through much in his short life. Helping the Resistance was his entire world, until Ryder and the dream of a life outside of war spurred him into happiness at last. Such a good, sweet and memorable romance for sure!

[Top 5] Mass Effect Andromeda Best Armor (And How To Get Them)

The most reliable, bullet-proof and fashionable pieces of armor in Andromeda.

Mass Effect Andromeda, released in 2017, was to be a new thread to a massive tale already woven in the Mass Effect franchise. Many things stayed similar on its release- races, weapons, and even terribly controlled vehicles. Other things got an upgrade- like hilarious banter and the Nomad (Don’t come for me- I love this vehicle so much better than the Mako!). We’ve already tackled weapons in a previous article. Now, let’s get into the gritty (and heavy) stuff- armor.

N7 ARMOR:

This armor had to make its way onto the list for nostalgia’s sake alone. It does, however, offer more perks than some of the other armor that Commander Shepard may have gotten back in the Milky Way. The newly imported N7 armor offers a buff to Biotic Power Damage, Biotic Recharge Speed, and increases your max shields. This is a huge improvement to stats if you’ve pumped a lot of skill points in Biotics early on.

Armor Merchant - Common Area, Nexus

This is an Uncommon Blueprint acquired through the Buy/Sell Kiosk- Research Room, Tempest (Milky Way)

HELEUS ARMOR SET:

Taking one look at this armor tells you right off the bat that it’s going to give your Ryder some good stats. Even more well-rounded than the Remnant Armor, the Heleus armor set increases power damage, weapon damage, and damage resistance. This is the only set on this list that only had two pieces that need crafting, which is less armor pieces you have to worry about making sure is leveled up. This is a pricey resource item to make but, it’s well worth it.

The Best of the Best when it comes to weapons of mass destruction:

Mass Effect Andromeda, the fresh start to the Mass Effect series made by Bioware in 2017, was widely popular at launch for its ability to progress Ryder into whatever class you wanted. This also included the endless possibility to specialize in whatever weapon class your heart desired. With all the new options available, it's impossible to decide what weapon will help you fight and destroy the Kett threat. This article will help you navigate the best weaponry offered to our favorite Pathfinder in Andromeda.

SCORPION PISTOL: Mini. Grenade. Launcher!

Need I say more? The Scorpion has a few setbacks that make this Rare weapon slide on the back burner for many players. Don't let the slow rate of fire and small ammo clip size dissuade you though. The Scorpion offers a heavy punch with sticky projectiles made for destruction.

WHY THE SCORPION IS THE BEST:

There’s nothing better than a weapon that brings you a bit closer to Commander Shepard- and this one does it for sure. The N7 Valkyrie takes the cake in Andromeda with this high-powered two-round burst, thermal clip assault rifle. This weapon is craftable, buyable as well as being lootable on Eos. The beauty of this weapon is how well the dual shots get through armor as well as the power it packs otherwise!

BLACK WIDOW SNIPER RIFLE: Heavy headshot damage from the start!

We all love a good sniper rifle, and while the Black Widow may be smaller in size to other snipers you may find in-game, don’t let that stop you from the potential of this weapon. The Black Widow at base level packs enough headshot damage to give you an edge in battle. Hitting that weak point on the enemy drops them in a heartbeat with this sniper.

ASARI SWORD:

This is most certainly the coolest melee weapon available to Ryder. The short-range, biotically charged blink motion of this weapon allows for heavy damage. When actively blinking towards a target, you become invulnerable to all incoming damage. The Asari knew what they were doing when they made this weapon for their huntresses.

Weapon Damage: 400-880

WHY THE ASARI SWORD IS THE BEST:

100% The invulnerable blink- this will come in handy in a pinch.

HOW TO GET IT:

- This is an Ultra Rare Blueprint:

REEGAR CARBINE:

I have a hard time considering this to be a shotgun with how this weapon fires with an arc of electric energy. This is by no means discrediting it from this list as it is a fantastic weapon for shields and even has a radial effect if the enemies you’re targeting are tightly grouped. If this isn’t in your arsenal- you need to RUN and get it. Another interesting, and heartwarming, tidbit about this weapon is that it was named after Kal’Reegar, the Quarian Marine you meet in Mass Effect 2 who sacrificed his life on Palaven in Mass Effect 3.

WEAPON STATS:

WHY THE REEGAR IS THE BEST:

Gives the effect of a shotgun when dealing radial damage to others- but in a way that’s cooler than a traditional shotgun

- This is a Rare Blueprint:
  - Requires 125 research data to craft (increasing in increments of 15 with every additional level).

CARNIFEX:

For being the only uncommon-ranked weapon on this list, it packs a punch worth mentioning. The Carnifex is a heavy semi-automatic pistol that deals a good bit of damage at base. Unlike some of the other weapons on this list, this pistol can be bought on Eos from a merchant and crafted on the Tempest.

WHY THE CARNIFEX IS THE BEST:

Damage per clip is over 1500- impressive for such a small gun
One of the few pistols in the game that is just that- a pistol, without the extra flair

- This is an Uncommon Blueprint that is unlocked automatically when the Research Center on the Tempest is activated or at Site 1 on Eos.

X5 GHOST:

Circling back to the Avenger, we have the X5 Ghost. The style of this assault rifle certainly gives the impression that they used the Avenger as their design medium. This weapon is a step better than the Avenger in every category though. It certainly earned its place on the list among the best weapons. There are also plenty of upgrades that can be made to this gun as you progress.

WHY THE X5 GHOST IS THE BEST:

Anything is better than the M8 Avenger (sorry Avenger fans!) and these stats alone prove that

SHADOW:

Laser. Beam. Sniper. Rifle. There are too many things I loved about this weapon- and why it was a no-brainer for this list. The Shadow is reminiscent of the Collector Particle Beam in Mass Effect 2 but with a scope. This sniper also has infinite ammo- bonus!

WHY THE SHADOW IS THE BEST:

Keep steady aim and you can decimate enemies with this continuous beam in seconds.

HOW TO GET IT:

This is a Rare Blueprint acquired through the Buy/Sell Kiosk- Research Room, Tempest (Remnant)
- Available after activating the Northern Monolith during A Better Beginning, a priority mission given by Jarun Tann on the Nexus
- Requires 125 research data to craft (increasing in increments of 15 with every additional level).

  - Remnant Polymer
  - Silicon
  - Lithium
  - Element Zero

KETT VAKRASH:

The damage per hit with the Kett Vakrash is nothing compared to the Krogan Hammer. The only thing that made this sword come out on top was the burning damage that’s done to targets over time. If you end up needing to shoot anyone that you’ve hit with the Kett Vakrash while the burning damage is still in effect, and you have incendiary rounds primed, the target is already prepared for a fire combo.

WEAPON STATS:

Weapon Damage: 300-660
Burn Damage per second: 110-242

WHY THE KETT VAKRASH IS THE BEST:

The total damage this weapon does per second nearly trumps any other melee weapon in the game
If the enemy is low enough health, you can take a swipe at them and move on to the next target- let the burning damage over time do the rest.

N7 PIRANHA:

I swear that there are normal shotguns in this game. However, the N7 Piranha is not one of them. The rate of fire of this shotgun makes it feel more like an automatic assault rifle. Be sure not to try and use this weapon like an assault rifle though, the heavy damage this weapon deals with is best for the up close and personal times in a battle.

WHY THE PIRANHA IS THE BEST:

Soldier:

This is a classic, tried and true, and will never let you down type of build. It can easily get you through any situation you may find yourself in. Turian Soldiers, as a unit, were always the most military advanced race in the Milky Way. It just makes sense that the best build is a Turian build as well.

Why settle for one subclass when you can have them all, right? I use this build myself quite often when I play so I’m easily able to both get into the heat of combat and deal heavy damage at a distance.

Mass Effect 3: Is It Good or Bad?

The Mass Effect Trilogy is beloved by fans, but does the final chapter cap it off well?

Nothing like a space warrior about to face off against robo-squids!

I'm enough of a fan to say that Mass Effect is one of the most impactful games ever made. They have shaped many of our preferences in gameplay, role-playing elements, as well as storytelling within the videogame industry. Of which I find to be the pillars that make or break these games for gamers. Because as idolized as these games are, no game is perfect.

About Mass Effect 3

For the uninitiated, Mass Effect is a Sci-Fi Action RPG that allows players to explore the galaxy in an effort to protect it from an ancient evil known as The Reapers. However, you aren’t expected to do this alone. Because the game allows you to assemble an elite team of the galaxy’s finest that will accompany you on missions to uncover hidden secrets of The Reapers and unite the galaxy in wake of their arrival. In a three-part saga, Mass Effect 3 picks up the tail end of a long and emotional journey that concludes the survival or the destruction of the galaxy as known.

Initially set to be released in 2011, EA decided to push back BioWare’s anticipated final addition to the Mass Effect trilogy to March 6, 2012, in order to remain competitive. This, of course, left fans disgruntled as they anxiously awaited for the most anticipated ending of a Sci-Fi fantasy since Star Wars. This may be an exaggeration, but numbers suggest otherwise.

Within the first 24 hours of release, the game sold 890,000 copies and 3.5 million in its first month. This resulted in Mass Effect 3, with a budget of $40 million, becoming Bioware's best-selling game to date with a total of 7 million copies sold. Even outshining Mass Effect 2’s performance selling 5 million copies. With that said, did the games perform as well as they sold?

Mass Effect 3’s Story

First let’s assess possibly the most notable aspect of the Mass Effect games: The Story. Throughout these games, players venture on the journey of Commander Shepard. A human soldier who is chosen to represent the Human Race, as well as the galaxy, as a Spectre. Spectres are chosen for qualities as efficient soldiers and leaders to keep order in the galaxy, but for Shepard, the journey is far more challenging than for any other.

In the previous two games, Shepard gathers unlikely allies and fights an assortment of adversaries in preparation for the return of an ancient alien race known as The Reapers. Every 50,000 years The Reapers return to the galaxy to wipe out all intelligent life, and none before have been able to stop them. Still, if the galaxy is to survive, it is your task as Commander Shepard to fight against this unstoppable foe and venture to unearth a way to defeat them.

So for the final chapter of this suspenseful adventure, how does it compare? Well, to be fair the overall story and journey to gather allies and solutions to fight against The Reapers is quite thrilling. The game does a fantastic job of giving you an engaging last hurrah as you go through an emotional rollercoaster of claiming victories while all together suffering terrible losses. As it should be, the game certainly feels like the end of a hectic epic to survive a seemingly unwinnable war.

Yet, what most players, including myself, dislike about the game is the ending. Unlike the first two games, this game is not just ending this particular chapter because it also has the responsibility of concluding everything that came before it. Therefore, everything at this point has to pay off.

All the choices made by the players that shape the story have to lead to a satisfying end. Because their progression in the game’s story is a significant part of what made Mass Effect 3’s predecessor, Mass Effect 2, memorable. How you choose to play the game will determine your level of success.

However, Mass Effect 3 gives an engaging continuation of the overarching story that eventually falls short once the player reaches the end. Unlike the previous Mass Effect games, this game does not provide the player the same level of impact of their choices once they reach the endgame. Instead, the resulting climax leaves the player stuck with the task of picking the lesser between three evils rather than succeeding in the mission.

So, instead of the player finding reward for their commitment, they are given choices that lead to dissatisfaction. This doesn’t necessarily degrade the overall experience of the game’s story, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Because no matter how much you dedicate yourself to a roleplaying experience that’s shaped by your choices, the endgame is not affected by it. This leaves players, including me, neglected of the satisfying ending that we wanted.

Mass Effect 3: Part 3 *No Commentary*

Players may only have the one choice to play as Commander Shepard, but they certainly have the freedom to shape who this character is. Like the previous games, they have options to customize how Shepard looks, choose their gender, as well as their origins and backstory which will shape how the character fits into the story. However, most of these customization options are presets that are provided for the player.

The most desirable part of creating the character of Shepard is choosing their class which determines the players’ playstyle in combat. hat being is up close and personal as the Vanguard or striking from afar as the Infiltrator. Depending on which of the six classes the player chooses shapes their combat role as far as abilities and weaponry goes.

Outside of combat, the game is influenced by the roleplaying aspect of the game. Interacting with teammates, allies, regular NPCs, and key story characters will shape the outcome and enjoyment of the game. Choosing which dialogue to use, whether to act like a reckless rogue or even a levelheaded diplomat, will drastically affect what resources and allies you will gain or lose in this game. Even more, than the previous games, how you choose to interact with the world determines the level of success on a technical level.

The bulk of the gameplay may reside in combat or roleplay within main missions, yet side missions are available and limited. Additionally, exploration of a mission map or the Galaxy map is also limited in terms of scale. In other words, the most a player gets to explore in this vast galaxy is limited to what a player sees within a mission.

The most freedom that a player has to explore is at The Citadel and your ship, the Normandy. However, the side and main missions that the player has access to are still limited to traveling from point A to point B. Even when traveling on through the Galaxy Map, players can only land and explore confined areas of a dozen planets in the game. So as much as exploration is an active part of the first game, less can be said for the sequels, especially in this one.

Regardless, the game does provide players a plethora of intriguing NPCs to interact with during or outside of missions. While Mass Effect 2 has the best assortment of NPCs that you can interact with inside or outside combat, this game allows you to interact with those old favorites. Each former teammate adds a unique role to particular missions and story arcs, but some certainly shine brighter than others.

As for your teammates in this game, most are much more favorable than others. Mainly EDI & Vega fail to properly fill in the shoes of more attractive characters that the player may have interacted with in Mass Effect 1 or 2. Those that remain from the previous games allow players to feel immersed in this final chapter of the journey.

Allies and villains are also sort of mixed. Most, big and small, are engaging and a good part of the overall experience, but a few leave more to be desired. However, this difference doesn't degrade the enjoyment of the game.

As a whole, the gameplay varies from feeling very polished if not too much so. During development, BioWare had to make tough calls as they were building the game so that the game could be delivered within a limited time frame with limited resources. Resulting in particular sequences cut from the game and several aspects of the game that isn't satisfactory for players.

In other words, the inclusion of character customization would’ve given player’s a more hands-on relationship to the gameplay. Be it exploring vast planets and cities or even having more of a choice of who Shepard is as a character. However, what is polished and kept within the game still leaves an adequate smile on fan’s faces.

Mass Effect 3’s Combat

More than the previous games, Mass Effect 3 has brought the fullest out of combat. Not that different from most third-person shooters, the game still offers the best combat experience from the trilogy. Cover mechanics, maneuverability around the map, and weapon/ability mechanics are at their peak.

Yet, more than in previous games, the character has less flexibility of changing the dynamic in upgrading their character’s abilities. The player has the benefit of feeling the reward of leveling up and upgrading their various combat abilities. Except, the skill system for each power limits itself to two branches that don’t differ much from another.

So while combat and leveling up is sharper, not much is added to stand out. Even with newer weaponry, the variety of inventory is almost a downgrade rather than an upgrade from the first. Furthermore, to fully experience the extent of this arsenal the player is limited to choose one class that is best suited for all weapons.

This may still be adequate but it leaves much to be desired for the final game in the trilogy. Because while it may be a precedent from the previous games, it keeps players from fully being able to get their preferred playstyle.

Lastly, the game features the first Multiplayer in any BioWare RPG. That might offer some rewards in progressing through the campaign. But it offers a singular mode that is not much unlike a “horde mode” side mission in the campaign.

Mass Effect 3’s Quest/Mission System

More than the previous games, Mass Effect 3 has the best adventure in the trilogy. The player feels the responsibility of overcoming overwhelming odds throughout the entire game. Especially during the final few missions of the game.

While the game could’ve delved deeper into the importance of allies and resources, the act of securing them in main missions more than makes up for it. More than any other game, players feel the importance of their choices and how it affects the flow of the adventure. Because the choices made could lead to dire consequences, and players catch on to that quickly.

However, despite how integral or satisfying the main story missions may feel, the side missions are incredibly weak Principally because of the design of the missions directory, navigating and tracking side missions is a real pain. Particularly when most mission descriptions of a side mission don’t provide any essential clues to search for an item via the galaxy map or a free roam location. This may not be the prime attraction of the game, but it certainly is a pitiful oversight in an RPG.

The Evolution of Graphics: Mass Effect (2007 -2017)

As of its 2012 release, Mass Effect 3’s graphics hold up better than its predecessors. In its time, Unreal Engine 3 performed exceptionally well, however, compared to modern standards and progression in technology the game, like most, slowly loses its fresh touch.

With that said, the game still has graphics and character models that feel just as good as they were after launch. With the inclusion that combat graphics still hold up as they did upon release. The same could also be said for most of the cutscenes.

Excluding the more “intimate” cutscenes between characters that don’t age well. Due to the models missing the fluidity to exclude awkward animation that doesn’t look quite right. So, while the game still performs well, it requires an upgrade.

Mass Effect 3’s Developer

As mentioned before, the Mass Effect trilogy was developed by Canadian-based developer BioWare. However, because of their partnership, the game was distributed by EA. It may not seem important, but EA has had a recent track record of inhibiting the development of AAA games, especially from BioWare, to live up to competitive marketing decisions.

While that has inhibited the performance of more recent titles, by comparison, Mass Effect 3 because of EA’s influence in cutting leadership and the number of staff in teams suffered in performance. Specifically in its story and gameplay development. In consequence of most of their resources being redirected to the development of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Naturally, this also resulted in the game having several bugs. Including misleading waypoints, freezes, environment bugs, NPC bugs, etc. Which were thankfully patched by the developer, but minor bugs remain to this day. Except at this point, patches and support to the game aren’t as available as they once were.

Mass Effect 3’s Price

Initially, the game was priced at $60.Premium editions of the game as well as DLC the game maxes around $90. Currently, the game can be purchased through EA Play at $4.99.

During its initial launch, the game was supported by the PS3, PC, and the Wii U. Except the game was primarily marketed and designed to perform best on the Xbox 360. Despite how much the performance improved on the PC.

Additionally, like a typical game from EA, the game did have microtransactions through its multiplayer. It was designed to improve the progression in the single-player campaign by purchasing menial loadout packs that didn’t benefit the multiplayer experience.

Final Verdict: 8.75/10

Mass Effect 3 Best Class - What To Pick?

The Mass Effect series may be better known for it’s space opera story than it’s cover-based combat system, but that doesn’t mean you’re not going to spend many hours of Mass Effect 3 shooting at bad guys. Or blowing them up. Or using biotics. Or using that little drone that distracts them and then… you know what you get the idea! With so many ways to take down baddies in this game I thought it would be nice to take a look at all the classes in Mass Effect 3 and rank them from worst to best.

Now I know what you’re thinking? Aren’t these choices all subjective and all balanced to be equally powerful? Yes and no. Mass Effect 3 inherited many of the same classes that appear throughout the series, but they are all tweaked to fit the third game’s combat changes, and as a result some are far more effective and just plain fun than others. So keep in mind that any one of these classes is going to give you an enjoyable experience, but some will give you a bit more bang for your buck. I’ve gone on long enough, though, let’s get into some classes!

6. Soldier Class

The Soldier class will really having you feel like a badass space commando

The Soldier class finds itself here on the list not because it isn’t effective, but because it’s pretty basic and honestly boring (combat-wise). The Soldier class is the most standard and commonly used in Mass Effect 3, largely being considered the default class throughout the series. The class is perfect for new players to the series that want to play the game like a traditional third-person cover shooter or players that could care less about biotics

The Soldier is able to handle the best guns in Mass Effect without any of the difficulties that the other classes have, and the only power that the player will have to worry about utilizing is Adrenaline Rush, which slows time and lets you line up for the perfect headshot. You also will have access to crowd control tool Concussive Shot, and the class passive ability, Fitness, which lets your Shepard take more damage with a shield boost, as well as a melee buff of 15%.

The soldier class was the class that I used when I first played through the series mostly ‘cause I thought being a space army man was really cool, and I found it to be the most straightforward way to experience the game. I really enjoyed the cryo rounds, too, which freeze enemies in place and weaken their armor. It was both effective and made me feel like a Batman villain, a win-win.

The Soldier class is good for:

Weapon specialists looking to carry the best firepower without consequence
Players looking to avoid the Power systems in the game
Tank players looking to soak up tons of damage
New players dipping their toe in the Mass Effect water for the first time

Pick the Soldier class if:

You imagine your Shepard being like an 80’s action movie star
You don’t want to mess around with powers
You are new to the series and/or mainly are playing for the story
You like to use heavy weaponry

5. Sentinel Class

Biotics has never looked cooler.

The Sentinel is the ultimate support class, so if you like maining a healer in games, this might be the class for you. Essentially a mix between an Engineer and an Adept. The combination allows the user to excel in both tech and biotics, creating a class with some of the defensive abilities of the Engineer and the offensive arsenal of the Adept.

The best power that the Sentinel has access to is Tech Armor, which is exclusive to the Sentinel class. Tech Armor allows for you to aggressively push enemies without losing much health and on top of that, when the armor has reached its damage limit it explodes in an AoE wave that deals quite a bit of damage at enemies.

The Sentinel class is good for:

Players looking for a combination of the Engineer and Adept classes
A support player that wants to work with your squadmates to take down enemies
Taking down shields and armor with ease
Gaining access to Tech Armor and other cool powers

Pick the Sentinel class if:

You like playing defensive but get bored easily
You don’t want to choose between biotic or tech abilities

4. Adept Class

That's gonna leave a mark...

If the Soldier class is a swiss army knife, the adept is a scalpel, useful for only one purpose, but extremely effective at that job. If the soldier class is all about gunning down the opposition without using powers, the adept class allows for you to end a battle without firing a single shot, but it is also tremendously difficult. I know that sounds tempting so let me explain.

Adepts are experts in biotics, giving you the ability to throw enemies around or pull them towards you like a Jedi, which is pretty awesome. If you end up taking this class, though, expect to be in the back of a fight, with your teammates chipping away at enemy shields or armor before you swoop in and finish them off. This class is great for players wanting to play strategically with cool magic-type abilities. Unfortunately there is a trade-off.

Adepts cannot carry much, possessing one of the lowest carrying capacities of the game, and cannot wear armor heavier than the “light” designation. This means you will be a sort of glass cannon, able to deal huge damage with abilities like the Biotic Explosion, but unable to take much damage before seeing a game over screen.

The Adept class is good for:

Players looking to maximize the powers mechanic of the game
If you want to work with squadmates to efficiently take down enemies
Players looking for extremely high damage and that want a challenging but rewarding combat experience

Pick the Adept class if:

If you consider yourself a strategic genius
You have already completed the game and are looking for a new challenge
If you ever wanted to be a Jedi in the Mass Effect universe

3. Engineer Class

Who knew hacking could look so cool?

The Engineer is a tech specialist, and probably the most defensive class option in Mass Effect 3. The class is best at disabling the defensive capabilities of even the toughest enemies in the game, or rendering them completely harmless while you coordinate a full squad attack on them.

The Engineer class has always been good, but has been drastically improved in Mass Effect 3 to help it compete on the offensive end with some of the other classes With Overload, Sabotage, and the combat drone powers, you will be able to hold your own against any enemy. Overload will be your best friend on this class, and your most used power, which allows for you to overheat weapons, disable enemy shields, and to blow up enemy fuel tanks attached to them, which let’s face it has never gotten old in video games!

Sabotage is also a fun power, allowing for you to take control of certain robotic enemies and then turn them against their former allies. This paired with the combat drone, which can distract and deal damage to enemies as well, means that you can turn the tide of battle to your favor whenever things start to look bleak.

The Engineer class is good for:

Defensive players looking to avoid damage by any means necessary
People that always loved hijacking the enemy and turning them loose on their friends (you sickos… just kidding that’s fantastic!)
Players looking to play more of a support role to allow your teammates to finish off your enemies

Pick the Engineer class if:

You liked playing turn-based Strategy games like XCOM

2. Infiltrator Class

The Infiltrator class is great for players looking to feel like a hired assassin. This class will allow you to leap from the shadows and kill your enemies with ease and you also won’t have to concede much either when choosing this class.

The assassin is one of the most versatile classes in the game. You’re free to kill enemies up close with stealth bonuses or snipe them from a distance with ease thanks to a class bonus that allows you to slow time when aiming down the sights of your scope.

Some of the best abilities this class possesses is the ability to go invisible with the Tactical Cloak power, letting you flank the opposition without them ever being the wiser. The Infiltrator class also gains access to the same cryo rounds and disruptor ammo from the soldier class, as well as some of the tactical advantages of the Engineer class, too.

The Infiltrator class is good for:

1. Vanguard Class

Now that's a lotta damage.

The Vanguard is a high-risk high-reward style class in which you are given some of the best offensive abilities in the game, but also are stripped of most of your defensive advantages that other classes have. Essentially a combination of the Soldier and Adept class, the Vanguard class has a carrying capacity higher than the Adept, but lower than the Soldier’s. The Vanguard possesses a combination of biotic and combat skills that excel at close range so expect to finish fights fast and loud. Because of the combination of how risky the class is, and how high the learning curve is, this class is usually run by experienced players, but is a very popular choice among combat experts.

If you pick this class, expect to equip a shotgun or a pistol, and to dice up enemies from up close. The Charge ability does, as the name implies, charge you at the enemy before they have a second to react, and if you pair this move with the other exclusive move, called Nova, you can charge at the enemy and deliver a powerful shockwave AoE before enemies even have a chance to react. This class will allow you to get the most fun out of the Mass Effect 3 combat system but make sure you’re ready to handle the challenge that comes with it first.

[Top 3] Mass Effect 3 Best Shotguns And How To Get Them

When you’re staring down the barrel of a shotgun with an angry Krogan rushing toward you at horrifying speed, the last thing you want to be thinking about is, ‘Is this gonna work’? Which is why today we’re going to take a look at the best shotguns in Mass Effect 3. These are the ones you want by your side when it all hits the fan, which in Mass Effect seems to be about every five or so minutes.

I went through every shotguns in the game, and evaluated them based on how many shots it took to kill an enemy, how reliable that gun is, and how vulnerable it left me. Now that you know my rating system and we got the boring stuff out of the way let’s take a look at the best shotguns in Mass Effect 3, and in what scenarios you should use each one.

3. M-300 Claymore (Best for one-shotting anything in your way)

Many people consider the Claymore to be the best shotgun in the game because of how crazy powerful it is, and boy is it that! The M-300 Claymore deals more damage than even the M-98 Widow sniper rifle from up close. The gun will blow away anything in its way, but it also has some considerable drawbacks as well, which keep it from that top spot on the list.

The Claymore’s biggest problem is that it requires a reload after every shot, and that reload time is crazy long! So long in fact that most players who run this gun in their loadout use an exploit in which you can actually cancel the animation about halfway through. To do this, wait for a clicking noise, allowing you to get back in the fight around the same amount of time it takes to reload the M-11 Wraith.

The shotgun is also a big boy, with an incredibly large carrying weight that will cripple almost any power user. The Claymore is great for destroying enemies in one shot, but leaves you incredibly vulnerable to follow-up attacks, which could result in some frustrating deaths for players.

What the Claymore Excels In:

Destroying whatever you aim at, no matter if they have shields, armor, or biotic protection
Killing high-health enemies in a single shot

How To Get the M-300 Claymore:

The Claymore is found during the mission Attican Traverse: Krogan Team, inside the first building
If missed, you can purchase it from Cipritine Armory after you complete that mission

Claymore details:

The gun is most likely named after the Scottish sword which required great strength and two hands to wield
In Mass Effect 2, besides Shepard only Krogans could wield the Claymore, as it’s stated that any humans wielding the gun would have their arms broken upon the incredible kickback when shot
Because of this, the Claymore in Mass Effect 3 is adjusted to allow other races to use the gun

2. Geth Plasma Shotgun (Best for charging up your gun for huge damage)

The Geth Plasma Shotgun was designed by the Bioware team to be an “unshotgun”, or a shotgun with close-range capabilities that can be used just as well from farther away. Because of this choice, the Geth’s version of a shotgun has the ability to be fired in low damage, quick shots, or be charged up for higher damage shots that consume more ammo.

This gun is favored by Infiltrator class players looking for something to compliment their tactical cloak’s damage multiplier, as the gun can be charged while cloaked. Of the shotguns on this list I would say that this one is the most unique since it does have long range capabilities, although I do think it’s at its best when charged and shot from close-up. Frankly this is a great choice for anyone and I recommend that players try it at least once to see if it fits their playstyle.

1. M-11 Wraith (Best for versatility)

One of the most fun to use guns in the Mass Effect Trilogy

Here we are, at the end of the list. The M-11 Wraith takes the crown for its versatility as a shotgun, allowing for players to deliver big damage without worrying about being left vulnerable. . This thing absolutely decimates enemies up close, and is a great secondary weapon to pull out when things get a little hairy.

The M-11 Wraith is best utilized by players who want a ground-shakingly powerful shotgun without having to say goodbye to incorporating powers into their playstyle, which I believe is extremely valuable. The Wraith also has a very quick reload time, something that many shotguns in Mass Effect 3 struggle with.

The Wraith’s two biggest problems is that it has a relatively slow rate-of-fire and is, by nature of being a shotgun, inaccurate. A remedy that I found makes this gun truly special is to activate the Marksman power before pulling out the Wraith, since it will increase firing speed as well as decrease the spread of each shot.

What the M-11 Wraith Excels In:

Rushing at a squad of enemies
Players willing to sacrifice ammo for stopping power
Allowing for players to still use powers

Anthem is a new action-RPG set to release sometime in early 2019. Its developer, Bioware is known for many titles including Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights, and the Dragon Age series.

Anthem will be an online multiplayer RPG set in what is known as a “shared world” environment. There will be multiplayer and single player elements in the game. In ‘multiplayer’ situations, players will be able to group up in squads of four.

Anthem was first shown at 2017’s E3, with gameplay being shown during Microsoft’s press conference at the event.

Anthem's Story Line

Players are part of a group known as the “Freelancers”. They are tasked with protecting the human race on an alien planet some distance from Earth. They don customizable exo suits known as Javelins to complete missions around the alien planet.

This is the first time that Bioware is putting something like the Javelins into one of their games. The closest thing to it in a previous title would be Mass Effect’s Biotic Amp, which only allowed a handful of attacks.

There are four types of Javelins, each with a special trait: the Ranger (all purpose), Colossus (strength-focused), Storm (‘spellcaster’ type), and the Interceptor (unknown).

The Company behind Anthem

Bioware stepped into game development starting with Shattered Steel and Baldur’s Gate in the 1990’s. With well-received titles like the Dragon Age series and Baldur’s Gate, Anthem is likely to be well-polished when it comes to character-driven elements. Anthem was originally announced at E3 2014, making the game development time about 7 years. There is no clear indication on the budget used to develop the game, but the developer’s decision to postpone work on other titles suggests it is a massive undertaking.
Bioware is hoping to create a game that will keep players engaged for at least a decade. Dragon Age: Inquisition, the third game in the DA series, had an online play element, but party members were always random.

In Anthem, players will be able to squad up with others playing the game for dungeons and taking on enemies that are a challenge for one player. Casey Hudson, Bioware’s GM, has been evasive when asked about other multiplayer activities.

With Mass Effect: Andromeda having been so poorly received by gamers, many agree that Bioware is relying solely on Anthem to breathe new life back into the company. The date of release has been pushed back twice, with some saying a release won’t happen till after 2019.

Executive producer of both Anthem and the Dragon Age series, Mike Darrah, stated in a tweet that teams are hard at work on both. News has slowly come out about Bioware’s new online MMO, but there information on the fourth Dragon Age. Some fans are hopeful that this is an indication of company’s focus on Anthem.

Anthem is a new online action-RPG by Bioware set to release in early 2019. Bioware is most known for its work on different types of role-playing games. Developers have stated that they are focusing on both Anthem and the Dragon Age franchise. With an estimated release date already announced for Anthem, fans are hopeful that Bioware will deliver a great game.

But, what is it that fans want with Anthem? What do they expect from the developers who’ve delayed this project twice already?

1. Customization

Few games today offer customization for a player’s in-game avatar. Those that do offer customization offer very little in the way of changing a character’s looks. Gamers looking forward to the game hope to see things like customizing colors, decals, and enhancing weapons to deliver as much death as possible to your enemies. With the right loadout, even a pair of Javelins may be able to take out hordes of enemies. Some have stated that the customization model for Warframe is a good example to follow.

2. Raids, Guild Battles, Dungeons

Many online games offer missions like raids or guild battles. A raid can be things like taking on a very powerful boss-level enemy, taking on other players on the field of battle, and challenging your skill against other groups in a player vs. environment where you fight computer-controlled enemies.

3. Offline Mode

Bioware has stated that it will offer a single-player campaign for Anthem. There are many players excited about the opportunity to play solo, but a few have worries about what it may mean. Many gamers prefer to experience such a story solo so they can get a feel for the game before taking on squad-based missions.

4. Affordable DLC

Most new games being released carry a hefty price tag of around $60. For some, this includes only the main game and none of the DLC. For others, it may mean some DLC and future payments for the rest of the extra content.

For Anthem, players are hoping that all DLC will be included. Reddit user OzTheGreat2020 put it the way other players are likely thinking: “I’m cool with a season pass, but it should cover all of the DLC.”

5. Flight

With the trailer and a majority of screenshots showing Javelins zipping through the sky, players are hoping for a decent focus on this feature of the exosuits. There are some who’ve said they hope the suits allow for unlimited flight and no need to refuel. Dark Void is a good example of the flight mechanics people are looking for in Anthem. There was no need to refuel the flying device, and players stopped flying when their feet touched the ground.
