The 8th generation of consoles has officially come to an end. With Sony announcing that the shortage of PS5 stocks is now a non-factor and with more of the newest Sony games console easily purchased now.

It’s time to look back at the PS4’s thousand game library and which one’s look the most stunning to this day. These are the top 10 PS4 games with the best graphics.

10. GTA V - 2013 (PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S)

Being released a full decade ago back in 2013, you’d think that GTA V can't compete anymore with the heavy hitters of today’s gaming choices but you’d be wrong.

Rockstar’s flagship game series has held its own over the ten years since its release, still having one of the biggest player bases to date and racking billions of dollars in revenue since release.

If you’ve been living under a rock for ten years, GTA V is about the story of three criminals intertwined one way or another. Michael, a retired bank robber, Franklin, Michael’s protege, and Trevor, who is simply insane.

They go on missions from the government and corrupt billionaires to do their dirty work while they work to get out of their horrible work arrangements.

The online feature of GTA V is an entirely different beast with it being the main source of money by Rockstar by giving it update after update and support even until now.

Customization options, story particularly tailored to the online feature, and tons of vehicles and weapons entirely exclusive to GTA online.

This addictive gameplay formula coupled with great graphics that still hold up until now where wanton mayhem is just at the tip of your fingers, GTA V will surely be a staple in gamer’s minds until GTA 6 releases.

9. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End - 2016 (PS4, PS4, PC)

Boys will be boys

Naughty Dog’s farewell to the luckiest man alive and the craftiest treasure hunter in the world is back for more fame, glory, and money.

Uncharted 4 released back in 2016 on the PS4 and boy has it aged like fine wine. Since then having ports on the PS5 and even on the PC, the graphical fidelity of this game has only since become stronger as time goes by.

On the native PS4 it still holds up graphically with no signs of it being a 7 year old game.

Levels like Scotland, Libertalia, and most importantly Madagascar are still one of the most beautiful gaming levels in gaming history with the famous chase scene happening in Madagascar.

Gameplay and puzzle solving are still great with mechanics such as the grapple hook a welcome addition to the traversal and the melee and cover shooting mechanics a joy to play.

Uncharted 4 will hold up for years to come and will forever be remembered as a reminder as to how powerful the PS4 can be in term of storytelling and especially graphic

8. Days Gone - 2019 (PS4, PC)

A criminally underrated game that didn't get its flowers during its first few months is back again on one of our lists to show our appreciation to this absolutely stunning and beautiful game.

Days Gone was released in 2019 developed by Bend Studious and published by Sony. It’s about Deacon St. John, a biker roving around a destroyed Oregon to find his long lost wife all the while battling hordes of infected individuals called freakers.

Gameplay for this game is one of a kind with its main selling point being the horde battles you do with the freakers.

Traversal in this game is mostly by motorcycle where you have to maintain it by refueling it and repairing it for any damages.

Graphics wise, the world in Days Gone is one of the prettiest and realistic looking in any video game.

Trees sway in the wind, the way water flows and reacts when your bike goes through a puddle, and the sunlight bouncing off of the mountains and buildings are to die for in this game.

Despite being ravaged by a virus, the Oregon depicted in this game is beautiful and really cannot be stated enough how perfectly crafted everything is

7. Spider-Man: Miles Morales - 2020 (PS4, PS5, PC)

Released as a flagship title for the PS5 when it was released but also optimized for the PS4 is Insomniac’s second outing into the world of web-slingers.

Miles Morales is the spin-off title to Insomniac’s Spider-Man game released in 2018. Now featuring Miles Morales as the main character where he’s tasked to protect New York in Peter Parker’s absence against an unknown criminal organization known as the Underground.

Gameplay is similar in terms of its previous title with web slinging, dodge counters, and gadget use,all very much a core part of the game. You get to fight criminals on your daily patrols while also taking down members of the underground one at a time.

The graphics in this game are immaculate. Web slinging while the sun sets or the snow falls or in the bright lights of the big apple are a sight to behold.

Arguably the most beautifully rendered New York City in video games is realized in this game where no detail from the buildings and historical landmarks are compromised even with added ones like the Avengers and Oscorp towers.

The detail in the character models and costumes are superb also, especially the one suit inspired by the Into the Spiderverse movie where its cartoonish and stuttery movement animations like in the movie are captured perfectly in the game.

These are but only a few examples as to how good this game holds up to the PS5 version of the game and still show that the PS4 is still more than capable to deliver quality to the highest level.

6. Evil West - 2022 (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S)

Exterminators had to deal with a lot of stuff back in the old west

One of the more recent entries in this list is the supernatural western shoot-em-up, Evil West. Released in 2022 developed by Flying Hog and published by Focus entertainment.

Evil West follows the story of a vampire hunter called Jesse Rentier tasked with keeping the American frontier safe from supernatural monstrosities.

Placing players first in a beautifully rendered cutscene and first controlling Jesse facing the sunset, it's hard to imagine that after seeing the first few minutes of the game that you’re still playing a PS4 game.

Textures are crisp and clean in 4k HDR and character models are well made with no compromise for it despite being released on the PS4.

Character models are detailed with every gore and viscera made from Jesse’s attacks realistically rendered.

Gameplay for the game is smooth as well with the gunplay and particle effects of the splatter, electricity, and explosions satisfying to watch as well.

5. Horizon Forbidden West - 2022 (PS4, PS5)

The follow up to Guerilla Games flagship title returns to one of our lists here at Gamer’s Decide and for good reason.

We again follow the footsteps of Aloy who searches for the backup of the GAIA AI system to save the planet's rapidly declining biosphere.

Gameplay is similar with the original one but with vastly improved systems for the shooting mechanics and for the melee too. New machines have been added with the likes of the mighty Tremortusk and Fanghorn being added.

What really makes this game a must have for PS4 owners is it's absolutely stunning visuals.

Locations such as post-apocalyptic San Francisco and other famous landmarks have been captured beautifully with vegetation growing and the machines grazing and doing their normal routines in game.

Flight and underwater exploration have been added where it adds a new layer of traversal and top notch visuals for the player to enjoy.

4. The Last of Us Part II - 2020 (PS4)

Making another return to one of our lists is Naughty Dog’s magnum opus, The Last of Us Part 2.

Released in 2020 and winning that year's Game of the Year and deservedly so.

Following up on 2013’s game by Naughty Dog of the same name, we follow Ellie and a new character named Abby as they both go on deeply personal missions that have far reaching effects on both their lives and journeys.

Gameplay is one of the smoothest around on the PS4. You can either be stealthy in your approach or go out guns blazing against the cordyceps infected or the raiders and bandits that litter around the play area.

Graphics wise, I truly believe that The Last of Us Part II is a game that opened the doors to the next generation but PS4 users were lucky enough to experience it on the last years of the console.

Environments in the game are atmospheric and bleak that adds a sense of realism to players at how depressing everything is. I mean you’re living in a world where cannibalistic mushroom people hide inevery corner.

The gunplay and gore in this game are also one of the most brutal you can ever see in a game with giblets of your enemies literally scattered on the walls and roofs of the play area.

Character models in this game are also cause for celebration as the disgusting detail of the infected like the Clickers, Bloaters, and the new enemies like the absolutely revolting Shambler and the Rat King are encounters you have to experience yourself.

Truly a game that spoils players in every way possible except in the sport of golf.

3. Red Dead Redemption 2 - 2018 (PS4, Xbox One, PC, Stadia)

RDR 2 is the absolute apex of what happens when a developer truly loves and cares for their game and its fans.

It is Rockstar Games' magnum opus as of the time of writing with game details and gameplay secrets that are still being unearthed today.

Set in 1899, the story follows Arthur Morgan, acting as the infamous Dutch van der Linde's right-hand man, as he and the rest of the van der Linde gang struggle to survive by either doing honest jobs or engaging in good old-fashioned train or bank robberies.

The majority of the game's navigation is done on horseback, and shooting is swift and precise with the fastest draws being the deadliest.

Hand-to-hand fighting is more akin to a fight club style of battle with the use of blocks and punches and apparent damage throughout these melee phases.

The size and beauty of the entire playable area are its most decisive factors. This game has everything from bustling cities to remote tiny settlements, snowy mountains, parched deserts, lush plains, dense woods, and murky marshes.

The replayability factor in this game is top notch; you might walk around robbing people or you might sit on a cliff's edge and take in the game's breathtaking nature.

A video game rarely has an impression on you that lasts a lifetime.

Significant gaming moments include Aerith's passing in Final Fantasy 7, Samus Aran's gender being revealed in Metroid, and Slippy Toad's on-going irritation in Starfox.

But hardly rarely does a game's title card entrance give you the chills and make you feel something you'll never forget.

After a 7-year sabbatical, Sucker Punch Studios returned with a bang with Ghost of Tsushima. In order to save his home island of Tsushima and the neighboring Iki Island.

Jin Sakai, a samurai fighter, is compelled to adopt strategies that violate the samurai code.

In addition to being entertaining and addictive, the gameplay involves using parries in addition to bombs, arrows, and kunais. The splendor of the settings in this game is its true draw.

You get the impression that you are inside a painting. A piece of art transformed into a game.

One of the numerous vistas in this game that will give you a sense of calm and duty and put you in the shoes of Jin himself is riding through golden autumn forests, visiting pampas grass fields, or looking out over the entirety of Tsushima from a high peak.

You feel as though the island is your own home because of how beautiful it is and how many people live there, and you will do whatever it takes to protect it.

In this 2022 exhibition of fantastic graphics and even greater story-driven gameplay, the dynamic father and son duo is back.

From God of War (2018), Kratos and Atreus are back as they fight to escape the Fimbulwinter as Ragnarok, the end of the world, draws nearer.

God of War Ragnarok, which was developed as the follow-up to the 2018 Game of the Year of the same series, takes us around the many Norse mythological worlds as Kratos and Atreus embark on quests either individually or collectively while they wait for and attempt to thwart the impending arrival of Ragnarok.

The game's dog sled and flying boat have been introduced as traversal options, while the gameplay is otherwise comparable to the 2018 version with a few minor adjustments.

The game's truly amazing graphics, though, are what really seal the deal. The game looks absolutely great, even on the PS4.

The environment is meticulously detailed, light reflections and shadows accurately reflect the light source, and adversary and character designs are as lifelike as possible.

Everyone needs a healthy dose of fear now and then. It keeps us...sane. Maybe you enjoy blood and gore. Psychological or survival horror might be more your style. Personally, I enjoy psychological horror that also has that survival element.

Here I will countdown the top 15 best indie horror games you can play on PC and beyond! Buckle up and get ready for a wild ride. Some of these games take an unexpected turn and will leave you scared senseless!

15. Doki Doki Literature Club (PC)

The Literature Club is full of cute girls! Will you write your way into their heart? This game is not for children or those that are easily disturbed. You have been warned.

In Doki Doki, you take the role of a male high school student who joins the school Literature Club. You will interact with four female club members in a classic dating simulator with anime-style characters!

Will you try to win the heart of your sunny childhood friend, Sayori? Or maybe you like the pink-haired, spirited girl, Natsuki. Smart and mysterious Yuri may be more your style. You might fancy Monika, the popular leader of the club! Any of these cuties could be yours as you try to create moving poems and say all the right things to win their affections.

Why did such a kawaii game make it on my list? Well, you’ll just have to play it and find out..it’s even free in the Steam store, so why not give it a try and see for yourself?

14. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location (PC/PS4/XBOne/Switch/Mobile)

Welcome to Circus Baby’s Pizza World, where family fun and interactivity go beyond anything you’ve seen at any other pizza place. Now hiring: Late night technician. Must be fine with cramped spaces and be comfortable around active machinery. The company is not responsible for any bodily injury, death or dismemberment that may occur from the job. Applicants with good insurance plans preferred.

In Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location, you take on the role of the person who took the job of late night technician. Your job is to check on the animatronics every night to be sure they are in good, working order and provide routine maintenance. This is a point-and-click survival horror game, much like the others in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series.

This game introduces new animatronics, such as the ballerina, Ballora, and the star of the show, Circus Baby. This game also introduced the ability to move between rooms, each with its own objective to fulfill. The animatronics are not too happy about being locked underground, and may uh, "demonstrate" their agitation as you progress!

This game, like the others in the series, is full of suspense as you carry out your nightly “duties”. There are moments of comedic relief that break up the suspense (Anyone in the mood for exotic butters? Maybe casual bongos?). Jumpscares are common and you must be good at multitasking, as with the former Five Nights at Freddy’s games, you will go between checking your monitor, your surroundings, listening for threats, and doing whatever job is required.

13. LIMBO (PC/XB360/XBOne/PS3/PS4/PSVita/Switch/Mobile)

Uncertain of his sister’s fate, a boy enters Limbo. This game appeared on another of my indie games list, and I believe it belongs here, too. Limbo is a puzzle platformer game, with lots of horror elements that make any mistake or misstep deadly as you struggle to overcome the puzzles.This is a 2-D game that is completely in black and white.

Limbo stars a little boy, waking up in a barren forest. The game gives you no indication of who you are, how you got there, or where you’re going. In this forest, as you advance, you come across puzzles, and if you aren’t careful, you will die (a lot) in horrifying ways. For example, being decapitated by a bear trap! How many games have you played where this happens to a small child?

A lot of trial and error goes into solving the puzzles, the developers describe it as “trial and death” to figure out each obstacle. If you make a wrong choice or don’t pay attention, you get to watch your player die in shockingly gruesome ways, almost instantly. Thankfully, this is not a roguelike game, and you get to start over before the obstacle that killed you rather than start from the beginning of the game.

The game advancement is very interesting, in the first half, you encounter bizarre monsters and other children who try to attack you, however, in the second half, there are no other life forms to be seen, and the puzzles get harder to overcome. (It’s lonely in here!) It seems the game strays further and further from reality the more you progress, which is an interesting concept.

The horror element may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and I will admit I don’t usually like the blood and gore. What drew me to LIMBO is the mystery surrounding the game’s story, and the limit to information given about it. This is a game you should play yourself so you get to experience all the mystery as you unravel the story.

12. The Coma: Cutting Class (PC/PS4/XBOne/Mobile)

You are just an average, every day Korean student. You had just sat down for your final exams, exhausted after an all-night cram session. The result of all your preparation, all those grueling hours spent studying was dozing off in the middle of the first test.

You awaken to pitch darkness. Nobody bothered to wake you up when class was over. Due to the fact that it’s night time, you decide to head home…

The Coma: Cutting Class is a 2-D side-scrolling survival horror adventure. You try to make your way through the now abandoned high school, riddled with haunting sights and dangerous traps. If that wasn’t enough, your classmates and teachers have warped into frightening ghosts, who will stop at nothing to hunt you down.

In this surreal situation, your objective is clear: figure out how you got here and get the hell out! Unfortunately, the school’s ghastly inhabitants have other plans for you.

This game made it on my list for the story, and there’s just something great about Korean horror. This may be one of the lesser-known games, but I believe it’s worth a play for the shocking scenarios that you encounter.

11. Detention (PC/PS4/Switch/Mobile)

Detention is an amazing atmospheric horror game set in 1960’s Taiwan under martial law. It incorporates religious elements based on Taiwanese/Chinese culture and mythology. This game provided players with unique graphics and an unforgettable gaming experience.

Greenwood High School, located in a remote mountainous area, two students find themselves trapped and vulnerable. The place that was once so familiar has warped in unsettling ways, haunted by evil creatures. To escape, they must explore the mysterious campus filled with ominous objects and puzzles. How will they survive this threatening environment? Can they return safely in one piece?

The art style in the game is phenomenal. The mix of soft-colors, realistic drawings, and the grainy textures that are common in many horror games give it an uncomfortably authentic feel. There are few games that look like this one, and the art style alone makes this game so iconic.

This game, like so many on this list, is intriguing because of its story and horror elements. The incorporation of history, and the mixing of Asian religions and cultures like Buddhism, Taoism and mythology, tell an unique and terrifying story. This is a game you won’t soon forget and will leave a lasting impact on your very being. That may be because the events of the 1960s White Terror is a very real point in history.

10. BonBon (PC)

BonBon is a short horror story about your childhood. No, really...in BonBon, you play as a toddler, who experiences events beyond their capacity to understand. This game is all about taking time to experience the objects and events around you. As your parents increasingly demonstrate their absence, your child mind tries to compensate, I would assume, by inventing an imaginary friend. A large, overbearing “friend”…which leads to an overwhelming sense of unease as you carry out your mundane childhood chores.

BonBon is an incredibly short game, and plays more like a short story than a game. You play as a toddler, who goes around collecting and putting away toys because your mommy told you to. What was really creepy is that the child can “talk” to the toys in a really unsettling distorted voice. This game is only number 10 because although interesting and a unique concept, it’s difficult at times to locate objects and can get frustrating as your puny child self often drops toys or falls down. Still, it’s a fast game that tells a deep story and the ending is what you make of it. I think we all can relate to the tragic undertones of a child trying to process trauma and domestic abuse the only way they know how.

As a victim of childhood trauma, this game resonated with me on a deep level and I had to include it in my list. It’s worth a play and will only take 20-30 minutes to finish, but will leave you unraveling the meaning behind the story for much longer.

9. INSIDE (PC/XBOne/PS4/Switch)

Hunted and alone, a boy finds himself drawn into the center of a dark project. INSIDE is a dark, narrative-driven platformer perfectly combining intense action and challenging puzzles. It’s been critically acclaimed for its dark and moody art style, ambient soundtrack and generally unsettling atmosphere.

If this game looks familiar, that’s because it is a follow up to another favorite of mine- yes, LIMBO! From the makers of LIMBO comes a new adventure, INSIDE. This game is beautiful, shocking and terrifying, sometimes all three at once.

INSIDE has numerous rave reviews on Steam, praising how great it is and eluding to the surprise ending. Like LIMBO, this game is best experienced going in blind to fully experience the story. The beautiful artwork and soundtrack will draw you in to this immersive platformer, and you likely will become a fan too after experiencing the masterpiece of INSIDE.

Just smile and wave: You try not to get caught.

8. The Forest (PC/PS4)

As the lone survivor of a passenger jet crash, you find yourself in a mysterious forest fighting for survival against a society of cannibalistic mutants. You will build shelters, explore, and try to survive in this terrifying first person survival horror simulator.

What I love about The Forest is the survival mechanic. You actually have to chop down trees to collect lumber to start a camp or make a fire to stay warm. You have to scavenge and hunt for food to prevent yourself from starving. All while fighting for your life against your unusual and hostile neighbors. You also have plenty of choices in how far you are willing to go to survive. Will you just live off the land and scavenge to survive, or resort to going native and cannibalizing the cannibals? That choice is up to you.

During the day you will be busy collecting resources to build a simple camp up to an impenetrable fortress. You can craft and lay traps and defenses to keep your perimeter safe. At night, you must defend your base.

In most horror games, the enemies are gruesome monsters that you wouldn’t feel guilty about offing. However, in The Forest, enemies have their own families, beliefs, morals, and appear almost human. You can either fight them off with crude weapons made of sticks and rocks, or try to use stealth to sneak around and evade them to avoid bloodshed. The most intriguing thing about the enemies is this game is their ability to make decisions- their behavior changes depending on several factors. Sometimes they will just follow you at a safe distance and check you out. If they feel like they have you outnumbered, they may charge, then stop short if you don’t back down. It’s unpredictable what they will do, making the game all the more interesting.

I really enjoyed the “just survive” part of this game. Of course, the encounters with the mutants scared the life out of me, pulling me out of my happy foraging for food and connecting with nature, but building up a giant fortress with traps and a wall to defend my base was a lot of fun. Your friends can even join you to make these tasks easier. Spending the day exploring the forest, hunting, and collecting resources reminded me of the less scary games I love so much, like Harvest Moon.

Offense is the best defense.

7. Visage (PC/XBOne)

Visage is a first-person psychological horror game. You will explore a mysterious, ever-changing house in a slow-paced, atmospheric world that combines uncannily comforting and horrifying realistic environments, making this game a genuinely terrifying experience. As you explore the house, you will uncover fragments of the house’s history, and learn of the terrible things that have transpired there.

The focus of this game is exploration, that slowly builds tension to create a deeper and more meaningful gameplay experience. The story of the game is revealed through surreal imaging and subtle environment details. The developers admit that this game is difficult in “unconventional” ways.

This game is so high on my list because I feel that the best type of horror is the psychological kind. Especially when it’s realistic, such as in this gem of a game. I can do without copious amounts of blood and gore, they don’t necessarily mean “scary” for me. Games like this that present mind tricks and building suspense with small details are far more frightening to me.

6. Layers of Fear 2 (PC/PS4/XBOne)

Layers of Fear 2 is a first-person psychological horror game with an emphasis on exploration and story. The player will control a Hollywood actor who heeds the call of an enigmatic director to take on the lead role in a film shot aboard an ocean liner. Beware, for all may not be as it seems.

When I first heard about this game, I thought the concept of you being an actor and shooting a film on a luxurious ocean liner sounded like a great story. I wasn’t expecting what was about to transpire, however. This game is far more terrifying than I originally expected.

Layers of Fear 2 follows your character’s slow descent into madness, and as the captain of your own destiny, you must decide what is real. Your director gives you but one command: “Act.” There is no script, no character that you have to become. To any actor, this may sound ideal. However, as the game progresses, the scenes on the ship become increasingly more terrifying.

As you take on these roles and act out the scenes, you will uncover details about your past and why, exactly, you were cast for this film. What part will you play?

This game is number 6 because as you see by now, I love the psychological horror and the character slowly descending into madness. To me, this kind of horror is the most realistic, and therefore, the most terrifying. It’s been stated before- the real monsters sometimes come from the human mind.

Hell is an experiment you can’t survive in Outlast, a first-person survival horror game developed by some of the biggest indie franchises in history. You play as investigative journalist Miles Upshur, exploring Mount Massive Asylum and trying to survive long enough to uncover it’s terrible secrets.

Outlast offers an immersive, detailed world for you to explore. Like many horror games, fighting is not an option, you must run, hide, and use your stealth to survive. You also won’t have any way of knowing when or where the asylum inhabitants will catch up to you, adding a whole new layer of heart-gripping suspense as you constantly look over your shoulder. This game is downright terrifying, with all kinds of morbid things going on in the asylum that you get to discover.

An interesting fact about Outlast, and one reason it’s so high on this list, as the events and settings of the game are inspired by real asylums and cases of criminal insanity. Unlike many horror games where the events of the game couldn’t possibly exist in reality, this game has that possibility, showing us that sometimes, the most terrifying monsters come from the human mind.

4. Blair Witch (PC/Switch/XBOne/PS4)

Inspired by the cinematic lore of Blair Witch, experience a new story-driven psychological horror game that studies your reaction to fear and stress. Fear and stress do take a toll on you in Blair Witch, sometimes blurring the lines of reality between what is real.

In Blair Witch, you take on the role of Ellis, a police officer with a troubled past. To try to right his wrongs, he sets off to join the search for a missing boy in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. The good news is that you aren’t exploring this terrifying forest with a witch in it alone...you get a faithful companion, Bullet the former police dog! You can command Bullet to seek an item or clue, and he can show you where to go. Bullet may be the only thing that helps Ellis cling to the little sanity he will have left as he explores the creepy forest.

This game is set two years after the film, and incorporates the found-footage subgenre that is also incorporated in the film itself. Using these footage tapes is important to progress the story, as well as making use of Ellis’ cellphone, flashlight, Bullet, and a camera. Even with all the tools at your disposal and your loyal friend, this game is far from easy, especially as Ellis strays farther and farther away from what is real.

Most important part: You can pet the dog.

3. SCP: Containment Breach (PC/PS5/XBX)

SCP: Containment Breach is an indie supernatural/survival horror game in the first-person perspective. In the game, you play as a Class-D personnel (a fancy word for a “test subject”) in an underground research and containment facility run by the SCP (Secure, Contain, Protect) Foundation. You will try to escape, amidst a total security breach of the hazardous anomalies that are the SCPs.

What are the SCPs? They are a hard item to name, but range from dangerous creatures to unusual phenomena. For example, perhaps the most dangerous SCP you will face is “The Sculpture” which is a concrete statue that can only move when not observed by the naked eye. It also has a terrible habit of snapping people’s necks when they aren’t looking.

As mentioned, your main goal is to use the chaos to escape, however, you have the various SCPs and guards to contend with. How do you escape? You must explore the facility and collect key cards using any means necessary to acquire them.

SCP: Containment Breach is on my list because it’s scary. Some have said it’s the scariest game they have played. Also, I really admire the creativity of the community that have come up with these SCPs. That’s right, the game is based on the deep fictional web stories of the SCP Foundation website. I could spend hours reading all of the many SCP stories, although not all of them appear in the game. I find the concept of the SCPs fascinating, and getting to see them in action in a terrifying game is just perfect. You’ll get the chance to revisit or experience this game as the release for the PS5 and Xbox X series is to be announced!

2. SOMA (PC/PS4/XBOne)

From the makers of Amnesia: The Dark Descent comes a sci-fi horror set below the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. You will struggle to survive in a strange, hostile world that will leave you questioning your very existence!

The radio is dead, the food is running out, and the machines are starting to think they are people. The underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered an intolerable isolation and tough decisions have to be made. What can be done? What is left to fight for? What makes sense?

In SOMA, you will face the horrors that lurk beneath the ocean waves. Explore locked terminals and find secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the survivors and take part in the events that will eventually shape the fate of the entire station. Be careful, as danger lurks behind every corner: corrupt humans, twisted creatures, insane robots and even an omnipresent A.I. program. There is no fighting back, you either outsmart your enemy or be prepared to run for your life.

This game is immersive, as you would come to expect from past games like Amnesia. It is thought-provoking, and will have you question what is wrong and what is right. What does it mean to be human? These are the questions you will ponder long after the game is done and the PC is shut off.

You will explore the eerie pathways, taking parts of Daniel’s troubled memories along the way. This game is a beloved but disturbing odyssey into the dark corners of the human mind.

Is that dragging feet you hear? Or just your mind playing tricks on you? This game features a sanity meter, representing Daniel’s slow descent into insanity. If your sanity drops from witnessing disturbing events, staying in the darkness for too long, or staring at enemies, you may start to “see” things that aren’t really there. The environment around you becomes more surreal, dangerous, and disturbing the lower your sanity is. Keeping your sanity is even harder when the only thing you can do to protect yourself is hide, run or keep your wits about you as you explore the terrifying, dark castle.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is number one because I believe it (and I’m not alone in this opinion due to the overwhelming positive reviews on Steam, Youtube, and elsewhere) to be the best, most immersive survival horror out there. Do you have what it takes to survive?

Fights are done in a turn-based tactical battle mode with players strategizing moves and firing shots with each turn. Xcom has done a superb job to make the combat feel intense and quick even with its turn-based structure. Moves like overwatch allow units to fire on enemies that move into their line of sight or suppression that has units fire a continuous volley of bullets at their enemy to reduce aim and ability to move. Xcom 2 is a fun experience with exciting turn-based action that keeps players on their toes and thinking and excited at the same time.

You are set to be purged at this island until a mysterious Kraken sinks the ship and gives you the opportunity for freedom. You can choose several pre-built characters or build one from the ground up starting at an origin story. What makes this game so much fun is building up the party of companions. You are allowed to select up to three from the many diverse types of companions to travel with your character. These companions are fully playable and have different skills that allow them to interact with the world differently than the main character would be able to. The ability to control all characters or let the NPC run with them creates a great experience for any RPG lover.

Some of the interesting RPG elements include choosing between leveling up the amount of armor that can be worn or the endurance to move and attack faster and longer.

A key feature that makes this game fun to play is players get to recruit heroes and have to manage each hero’s stress level. The stress level rises from a combination of factors including intense combat, certain curses, and damage to the hero. Higher stress for the heroes will lower their stats and make them weak. Players must be meticulous in how they use their hero because once the hero is dead they are gone for good. This game is great for adding a unique twist on a tactical turn-based game.

The franchise that started it all, GTA V is nothing short of impressive. Having sold more than 11 million copies in the first 24 hours, Rockstar made something that would steal hours or days off our lives in the years to come. You are given the entire fictional city of Los Santos to do with as you please. Granted you do have the main storyline, but that’s not the only thing GTA V is about.

GTA allows players to do whatever they want. You can play tennis, speedboat or hijack a plane and crash it in a city. On the other hand, you are given the option of following three different storylines through the three different protagonists. One of GTA V’s high points is the graphics, being a huge step up from GTA IV. Paired with the ambiance of the world, Los Santos and its neighboring areas are definitely an eye-pleaser. And of course, You do have mods that will take you up and above, in terms of gameplay and visuals.

3.Elder Scrolls Skyrim: remastered

Bethesda, being a pioneer developer of open-world games hit jackpot with Th Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, so much so that they decided to release a remastered version five years later. I hope this shows what Skyrim delivered to gamers during its release. Hundreds of hours of quests and side-quests, exploration, crafting and all the other tiny things you could do in Skyrim.

You are The Dragonbourne. A hero sent to save the land of Skyrim from the now awakened dragons. The main storyline can be really engrossing, and so can the side-quests, but exploration is one of Skyrim’s strong points. The landscape can go from ice-covered plains in winter, to evergreen forests in spring, and the visual still holds up against many of the games today. Mods are obligatory to enjoy the true extent of Skyrim's beauty.

4.Dishonored 2

The graphics are simply stunning, especially with the diverse districts, each with their own stories and experiences. From the dust district to the bustling ports and the foreboding and maze-like Clockwork Mansion.

5.Dying Light

Dying Light brings parkour and zombie-survival in the best possible way.

Dying Light is a game that incorporates parkour and zombie killing into a formula that actually works. The action is fast paced and bloody. While the combat may seem a little clunky, it’s something you get used to. The world is breathtakingly large and filled with interesting storylines and mysteries. Every area is carefully designed to allow free-flow parkour and combat, allowing players to dismember zombies in diverse and creative ways.
The combat is satisfying and is paired with an excellent crafting system that allows you to construct weapons of mass-murder and use them. Your environment can also be used in combat, like priming an old car to explode on your command or setting up electrical traps. The visuals are excellent, especially on PC. The densely packed building are incredibly detailed and designed and give a sense of desolation and isolation. Dying Light is the most fun and enthralling zombie-survival game to come out in recent years and must definitely be experienced in 4K.

6.Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Return to the familiar world of middle earth, but at an unfamiliar time.

Tolkien’s fantasy epic is considered to be one of the greatest ever written. As expected, the universe has gotten the video game treatment in the form of enjoyable or mediocre games. Shadow of Mordor blew everyone away on its release, presenting the fantastical world of Middle Earth in a way the movies never could.
You are Talion, a ranger of Gondor. The game starts off with the brutal murder of you and your family. But, instead of dying you become bound to an elvish ghost. This spirit grants you new powers and skills that’ll in time, help you destroy Sauron.
The combat is free-flowing and extremely fun, including the stealth elements. Being powered by the Nemesis system provides a fully dynamic world that feels incredibly alive. Your actions have a deep impact on the NPCs and characters around you. The locations are also incredibly beautiful, much to the likes of the LOTR movies, with shadowy, desolate plains to vast green fields. Using the hardware to the maximum, Shadow of Mordor provides an amazing, out-of-the-world experience that is deserving of being played at 4K.

7.Rise of the Tomb Raider

Take control of a more formidable and deadly Lara in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

The sequel to the widely loved tomb raider reboot, Rise of the Tomb Raider surpasses its predecessor in flying colors. This time, you get to play a Lara Croft who is much tougher and battle worn, and you are no longer fighting for survival. The combat is engaging and satisfying that is only improved by the amazing crafting system that adds variety to the gameplay.
You will be given access to semi-open worlds that are beautiful and intriguing in their own way. Rise of the Tomb Raider sees you explore dark and dangerous tombs (Duh...), snow-capped mountains and alive, beautiful forests. Exploration can be pretty rewarding and actually makes you feel like an explorer. Temples and crypts and many such locations can be found in the beautifully designed levels. Rise of the Tomb Raider puts you in an Indiana Jones-esque adventure that will only get better on higher resolutions.

8.Fallout 4

The post-apocalyptic world never looked more stunning than in Fallout 4.

Bethesda sure know how to make open-world games. Fallout 4 did to the Fallout franchise what Skyrim did to the Elder Scrolls franchise. The world is and intricate and populated as usual, with stunning post-apocalyptic locations that are full of easter eggs, loot and stories to live out. As in previous games, you start off with an amnesiac custom-built character on his quest to find out what had happened to his family.
The gameplay has significantly improved, making both first-person and third-person combat equally fun and fluid. The VAT system is still a huge part and works as good or maybe even better than before. The crafting in Fallout 4 has been revamped in ways greater than previously anticipated. You can now build settlements, establish trade routes, assign roles for settlers and construct defences, and nothing that you find in the wasteland is useless. This works to the extent where you may have to search far and wide for pencils to extract the lead to be used in radiation shielding.
Fallout 4’s visuals are by far one of the highest points of the game. Each location is unique and stunning. You have dead forests, irradiated swamps, crumbling cities and even brighter places like farms and beautiful settlements. In my opinion, Fallout 4 is exactly the type of game that deserves the 4K treatment and will only make the experience more surreal.

9.Battlefield 1

An era untouched by the gaming world, comes strikingly alive in Battlefield 1.

Battlefield brings its large-scale epic combat back to the era of the World Wars and takes an unexpected route by putting us at the forefront of the original war, World War 1. This obviously had everyone hyped due to being overexposed to modern and futuristic warfare, it was time someone took a step back and EA DICE did just that.
Battlefield 1, despite taking on an older and simpler period in time, feels completely new and fun to play. The atmosphere and level design of the game only add to that feeling, putting us in a world much darker and grittier than the one we are used to seeing In WWII games. The single-player campaign was a pleasant surprise considering previous battlefield games’ singleplayer formula wasn’t exactly as satisfying as the multiplayer.
The singleplayer sees players take on soldiers from all corners of the battlefield, from tanks to planes, to bloody trenches. The multiplayer is epic in size and scale as usual, with objective driven gameplay that has been tried and tested. The visuals are simply stunning seeing as though they are running on the Frostbite engine and perfectly captures the terror and unique experience of WWI.
War is never beautiful, but Battlefield 1 proves otherwise by bringing us a bloody but stunning experience that is best experienced on 4K.

10.Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Deus Ex utilized a futuristic setting to deal with problems that dominate the present.

A worthy addition to the Deus Ex series, Mankind Divided improves on the already established formula with the addition of the much-needed features. While the story may seem to be smaller in scope than previous games, but stands out in terms of gameplay and visually stunning graphics and settings.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will let you control Adam Jensen as his already chaotic world descends further into madness after the infamous Aug incident in Human Revolution. You are given the city of Prague to explore, a city that is incredibly complex and detailed. Exploration will provide you with sweet treats like intriguing new storylines, easter eggs, and other multi-faceted side quests.
No single playthrough is guaranteed to be the same. The dialogue options are varied and can provide significantly different and interesting alternative paths. The augmentations have also been revamped, with changes that make both stealth and open combat equally fun and challenging. The overall game design is exceptional, providing us a truly futuristic setting that sets Deus Ex apart from others in the genre. From character designs, environment props to combat and tech giving us the unique sense of living in a futuristic world.

4K gaming is widely considered to be the next step in video game graphics, and that just might be, right seeing as though we do have the technology and the fact that it is turning out to be much more affordable than previously thought.
Even though graphics don’t exactly make or break games, they are an integral part of video games. They have the power to improve on an already great game and turn into something much greater. Regardless, the video games given above don’t necessarily have to be experienced In 4K and play just as good in any standard PC setup, they are great games but only get better on 4K.

The key to surviving this game lies within teamwork. Make sure to board up as many openings as possible so that the zombies are stemmed, if not only for a little wall. Money is used to buy upgrades, weapons and access to new rooms, so make sure that you all are contributing to the latter. As the levels go on, hell hounds will join the zombie hordes, as well as more dangerous foes, so be sure not to split up and make it easier for your foe to swarm you.

Infinite Crisis brings together popular DC characters across the multi-verses and the MOBA genre that has become so popular as of late. First thing of note is that the environment is completely destructible. The maps in the game are divided up based upon game length to play them. The win conditions for the game are either you capture strategic points to drain the power on the enemy side, or just destroy the power core outright.

Unfortunately, Infinite Crisis goes offline effective August 14th, 2015. Hopefully, there will be another DC MOBA in the near future because it was a very popular game in its limited lifespan.

Magicka: Wizard wars pits four wizards against four others It seems that there are a lack of towers and minions, leaving there nothing standing between you and an opponent that needs a magical beatdown.

There are some features that are of note for people interested in playing. Friendly fire is possible and you may “accidentally” kill your opponent. Also, do well in your matches and you can get new staves, robes and…humor?

The Magicka series seems to pride itself on being humorous and fun, so if that’s your kind of game you should definitely try it out. I personally think the absence of normal MOBA mechanics in a PvP game is definitely an intriguing idea. I myself might check this out.

Some of the key features of this game are the ability of characters to climb, interact and explore buildings and obstacles. Big weather events, like typhoons, will affect gameplay that will be beneficial either to the players or their enemies. Combat is noteworthy, requiring the player be a lot more active than merely clicking on buttons to do battle.

I don’t know about you, but Black Desert sounds like a wonderful game with loads of engaging features. If you like your MMOs with interaction and a dynamic environment, give this game a shot.

Wartune is game that puts you in charge of managing a town while also leading troops to gather more resources. It looks to be taking a step away from games more focused on building, such as Game of War or Tribal Wars.

You choose a leader of your town from three classes: Knight, Mage or Archer. You will lead a couple legions of men to find treasure, including gold, and valuable minerals. These treasures are then transferred into upgrading your buildings, which I imagine starts a rotating door of tasks.

If you enjoy games where you get a more hands-on method of gathering resources to upgrade your city, give Wartune a shot. The concept definitely seems interesting.

Tera, the region, was born from the dreams of two omnipotent titans. Twelve godlike beings were the first inhabitants, but they began to war really soon. The next beings were mortal beings, like your character, but they two found themselves pulled a war not their own.

Tera has many features that shares with other MMOs, but it’s claim to fame lies within its combat system. Rather than simply clicking on the enemy and pushing hotkeys, you’re expected to actively be dodging and striking at your opponent. This way, you actually feel like you’re in every fight your character takes on.

If you’re as curious to see what a freeform combat system is like I am, you should give Tera game a shot. If this is the selling point Blue Hole wants to show for their game, it must be pretty spectacular.

Dirty Bomb takes place in London after a radiological attack. The game seems to play heavily on teamwork, encouraging such through allowing you to revive teammates and shortening the life of those who are the last member on their team alive.

In addition to trying to kill as many of the enemy as you can, the attackers are escorting an Extraction vehicle to a location on the map (Think the bomb escorting game on Team Fortress 2). After that, what they must do next depends on the map. The map is also filled of objects, such as machine gun turrets, which can be activated by either side to assist them.

If you enjoy games where you have to be part of a team, give Dirty Bomb a shot. If the team is very diverse, you can expect to win a lot of matches.

One of these dragons, Regulos the dragon of extinction, has worked his way back into the world and opened up rifts for power up his kin, which will lead to nothing good.

Rift, like the name implies, is largely focused on the players working to seal the rifts. Each dungeon encourages tactical thinking and strategies, but rewards the players handsomely upon completion. The raids are considered end-game content and contain the hardest of the game’s foes.

A game largely focused around dungeons sounds like a very interesting concept. If raiding was your favorite element of other MMOs, then you should give this game a shot.

Your foes will come from every corner of the unvierse to fight you.

Players will pick one of a handful of races, a number of classes, and then go off to planet to serve their corresponding faction. They’ll fight both the enemy faction and some other races, and eventually learn about the story behind the Eldan’s disappearance. Your character will eventually be able to own property, participate in PvP and dungeons, and all sort of other things.

If you’re a fan of fun science-fiction games, then this is the game for you. The game is free to play now, so give it a try if it strikes the slightest interest in you.

Like World of Warcraft, some of Blizzard’s games are really great even if they are kind of old. This is also the case of Warcraft 3, which is also one of the games that inspired the massively popular MMO.

You can play the campaign, which focuses on the ascent of the man who becomes the Lich King and other notable characters who must try and stop him. You can also play a skirmish as Humans, Orcs, Night Elves or Undead. The Frozen Thrones expansion pack introduces tow new races, the Trolls and the Blood Elves, and also adds a bunch of new content to both single-player, multiplayer and also the map editor.

Though the game is rather old, the ability to make your own scenarios or play on already made maps still makes the game incredibly interesting. There even exists a player base on multiplayer that you can play with as soon as you get some experience against the computers.

The online multiplayer is still going strong after all these years.

As you level up, you will have to choose between two separate specializations, once at level 15 and again at level 35. You’ll pick up weapons and armor along the way, and also you may pick up a few costume items.

If you’re looking for a side-scrolling fighter in a brightly-colored universe, this is your game. There’s also a new character out recently, so perhaps now is a great time to get started.

If you enjoy a good time with friends and killing zombies, get this game. It’s all the intensity of fighting the zombie hordes, but none of the fear you see in games like DayZ or H1z1.

You and three other survivors, A.I or human-controlled depends on you, must fight your way through five maps filled with your common zombies and several types of “special infected”. Along the way, you’ll be able to pick up guns, melee weapons, explosives, and some items that will benefit you. The key is to stay together, because programming in the game is merciless if one of your team strays to far from the group.

And if you’re the competitive type, you can play against a second team of players and take turns being survivors or zombies, trying to get farther on each map of a single campaign and therefore racking up more points. If you get the game on Steam, there are loads of mods that can customize the look of both you, your friends and even the enemy. There is no excuse why fans of shooters and zombie survival games should not be playing this game.

Bless is an up and coming game By Neowiz Bless Studios that promises to push the Unreal 3 engine to it’s absolute limits. The team promises this game will redefine what online gaming can look like.

The plot for Bless Online takes place in a medieval fantasy world where two factions are at war with each other. Players will get the opportunity to pick a side, along with a race and class, and supposedly be performing some quests that are commonly found in MMORPGs before joining the main conflict. Considering the boasts on how the game works, it begs the question of whether the plot will be affected positively by that.

No idea of when Bless Online becomes accessible to the PC community, but it certainly seems to show promise. Of course, when it comes done to it, the end decision will depend on you.

Thought it’s already been some time since it came out, Grand Theft Auto V continues to be a fantastic game. This might be in part of them constantly releasing DLCs, anywhere from offering first-person perspective to giving you a gun that shoots out a variety of crazy things.

There is plenty of content for both casual players and those who have logged in hundreds of hours already into the game. There are loads of mini-games that you can play with your friends, missions that can be completed in a group or by yourself, and a whole world that you can take on by your lonesome. So long as you enjoy playing in the world of Los Santos, there will always be something for you to do.

No word out on in there is a sixth installment in development, but GTA V has plenty of content to help keep players interested and always coming back for more. If you haven’t tried out the game yet, you should really give this game a shot.

The champions seem more light-hearted and delightful to play as, and there are creatures in the game that give your entire team boosts to their stats and even a little money. I’m also pretty sure that the heroes in DOTA 2 don’t dance.

League of Legends, whether you’ve played a MOBA or not, is definitely worth a shot. You may even find that this game is much more enjoyable than whatever you were playing previously.

DayZ is the horror survival game that originally was a mod from the military simulator, ARMA 2. The game has done so well though, it has earned a name for itself and isn’t standing in the shadow of anyone.

The game has you in the fictional Soviet Republic territory known as Chernaus with little more than the clothes on you back. It falls to you to scrounge up what supplies you can find, but you must keep an eye out for both zombies and other scavengers who may be willing to kill you over an item. Talk about serious trust issues.

The game has become so popular that, as of this past E3, DayZ is now playable on three separate consoles. I’m seen a number of videos of gameplay on Youtube, and it looks like one of the best open-world survival games out there.

You are not alone.

Based on the title of this game, you probably wouldn’t expect it to be a science-fiction RTS. The plot is the story of three factions, the Humans, the Beta and the Goo, who wage war across the galaxy. Though their conflicts take place across the stars, most of your battles will take place on solid ground.

Each faction has their own distinct playstyle. The humans are balanced in attack and defense, the Beta faction favors speedy strikes against their opponents and the Goo favor force in massive numbers. All of the units in this game appear to be mechanized tanks and ships, which isn’t the typical route for RTS games.

Fans of games such as Command and Conquer and Supreme Commander should have a lot of fun with this game. Grey Goo claims to favor outright strategy over micro-management, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.

There are so many ways for you to wage war and take territory for your faction. Choose to fight as a soldier or a mech; fight on foot, in a tank, or a plane. Try them all and see which one you like the best.

There isn’t a game that takes place on a scale like this. If you ever had dreams of playing in a giant war, then you need to get this game. No arguments; go get it.

If you’re going to survive a zombie apocalypse, it’s probably best done with a group. H1z1 is a horror survival game where, it’s hoped, you work with players to live long in this barren United States landscape.

There will be loads of things that can help you improve your character. You can trade with other people in the game to get better equipment. You can also hope that you run into a loot crate, which can hold some pretty rare stuff. If all else fails, you can always scavenge across the world and hope you get something that will help keep you alive.

If you got a knack to see how well you do in the zombie apocalypse, then you should give H1z1 a try. Get your friends together and try and work together to see how far you go.

You just can't trust anyone in a post-apocalyptic scenario.

Not too much is known about Lost Ark with the game still being worked on. The developer, Smilegate, is one of the leading Korean game developers, which may invite some credibility to how well the game can do.

What is known about the game looks intriguing for those who play the hack n slash game Diablo. Lost Ark makes the claim that it offers puzzles that require a little brain power, a ship that they may use to sail around the world, and even a chain combo system that the player will be allowed to customize. There will also be jobs through the game world that doing well in may provide you with rewards as you go duengoneering.

There hasn’t been too much news as of late, but hopefully Smilegate is still hard work making this game as exciting as it does. Diablo players and fans of similar games, the unique traits that Lost Ark boasts of rbinging should definitely put it on your radar.

There’s a lot of DC-themed goodness in this game. Characters who have history with each other have specialized opening lines to talk to each other about. You can fight on some pretty memorable landmarks in the universe, and you can knock each other through multiple levels found on each map.

If you’re a fan of DC games, you should probably give this game a shot. There will be loads of combos and victories to found, giving you hours of enjoyment.

The sequel to the successful RTs done by Blizzard, you’ll be taking up the fight as one of three forces trying to rule in the galaxy. All your favorite units are back in better quality, and there’s a load of new units for you to enjoy.

The point of this game is to build up a base, train some units, and destroy your opponent. Every faction has their own playstyle, so figure out which one matches how you like to play, It probably would be best to play a few dozen rounds against the A.I before heading into multiplayer, because all the people on there are probably well-versed experts.

As far as RTS games go, Starcraft 2 is probably one of the best out there. The gameplay is very well-done and the units are diverse enough that you’ll come up with a lot of strategies.

The latest installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise is here and looks as bloody and brutal as ever. Old favorites and a few new faces have come together to bring on the brutalities.

So far, there have been a number of DLCs out, bringing characters like Jason Voorhees and the Predator to the players. The fatalities and x-ray attacks are brutal and yet, at the same time, quite creative. You can even interact with your environment, grabbing both zombies and old ladies and tossing them into your opponent’s face.

Overall, if you enjoyed Mortal Kombat games before, this is definitely going to be loads of fun for you. You’ll spend hours on end trying to figure out the combos on your favorite characters, and beating your opponent into a bloody mess.

This new guy seems pretty rock-solid.

14. Street Fighter IV

Time to punch, kick and Hadukken your way to victory.

It’s time to hit the streets again. Ryu, Chun-Li and all the other characters are back in action, along with some new faces. Be ready to pull off plenty of flashy combos and a few old favorites too.

The graphics on this game look fantastic, making sure every blow you land on your foe dazzle with special effects. Every fighter even has witty phrases they utter when the match starts. The gameplay seems very fluid too, making sure you have a very cinematic fight, start to finish.

The fifth installment of Street Fighter is currently being worked on, so this will be the perfect way to keep up the hype. There will be a lot of people playing this over the next couple years, so it makes sense to get in there and join in the good times.

It's time to choose your profession.

One day, the prayers to the pantheon of Goddesses went unanswered. Soon after, a giant tree grew in the middle of the capitol city, laying waste to a great part of the city. The people did not have time to mourn, for the fauna growing around the tree turned into monsters and began attacking everything in sight.

The game starts four years after that disastrous day, where people have begun talking of dreaming of the goddess. This would be where you step in, one who will set out to determine whether the world is saved or doomed. You apparently won’t be alone, because there will be an option to bring companions along.

There isn’t too much on the game right now, but what info that is revealed looks somewhat intriguing. Beta Testing will be taking place on August 4th and go for a week. If you’re interested, check out the website for more news and updates.

You’ve probably never asked yourself what would make a soccer video game better, but Psyonix did and answered, “rocket-propelled cars as the players.” This addition brings a very fun concept that takes the weariness of a long game played with human characters.

The game can be quite exhilarating if you utilize all the aspects of the game. This includes the walls which are able to be driven upon, the power-ups you can pick up in the game, and the fact that you can destroy your opponent if you drive into good enough. You can also customize your car with hats, flags and different vehicles, adding a customization element to an already wonderful idea.

If you’re still unsure about this game, there are loads of Youtubers playing this game. Just look up one of their videos and see how fun this game can be.

A brand new season is upon Vindictus.

Vindictus is an MMO that is a sequel to Mabinogi, both free-to-play games that were made in Korea. Take control of one of nine characters, each one supposedly different from the others.

In addition to different playstyles, each player uses skills based solely on what weapons they’re wielding. For example, a player wielding a spear will only have access to skills that affect a spear. Whatever skills you decide to do, you will be putting them up against a race of monstrous humanoids, called Fomors, who humanity believes they can destroy.

The game is divided up into episodes, where you will be tasked with the leading the human fight. You will also be dealing with problems caused by humanity and even yourself. The game definitely looks intriguing, and you don’t lose if it’s free.

I don’t care who you think you are, you feel pretty powerful driving a tank. You’ll be given a hug selection of tanks to choose from, and then get to tear into others.

Better tanks will be available as you level up. The landscape that you’ll be fighting on offers a lot of tactical advantages for you to rain hot lead on your foes. And who doesn’t love explosions?

If you enjoy military games, then World of Tanks is one you definitely need to check out. When else will you be able to play as a tank the entire time? There’s a lot of fire power that you’ll be able to unleash on your opponent.

Guild Wars 2 is the sequel to the popular MMORPG with no subscription fee. It takes place long after the world you knew of in Guild Wars, but that doesn’t mean this world is no less exciting for you. In fact, there are a lot of cool new features.

We’ll start off with you no longer need to be just a human. You have options to five races and eight classes. Another great aspect of the game is that you and every other player in this world will affect the progression in the world.

So go out and play Guild Wars 2. I have had friends say that it’s as good, if not better, than some of the bigger MMO games out there, and this game is free. What do you have to lose?

Storytime reader. Once upon a time, Blizzard made a trading card game and it was alright. But then they seemed to make an online card game, and thus we have Hearthstone.

So there are eight classes to choose from, each one focusing around a specific playstyle. Each class has a specific power that can be activated for 2 power, which your limit increased by one with each turn. There have been two expansion packs so far, and loads of cards and play strategies to choose from.

So if you enjoy a little casual card playing, download Hearthstone today; because it’s free to play and you can alright without having to pay anything.

Path of Exile is a game for all you hoarders out there, because doing well in the game centers all around on your items. Anything from the objects in your inventory to the skills you take as you level up will all be considered “items”.

The skill tree is also interesting. Every class in Path of Exile has the same skill tree, but they all start in different corners of it. That means you will eventually be able to multi-class when you’re in the higher levels. So much for having to pick only one class and sticking to it.

If anything, Path of Exile is worth a shot based on their interesting mechanics with items and skills. And when you get your friends to play with you, you can all be competitive little hoarders together.

Looks like someone lost their head and murdered everyone.

6. Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward

If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, then I imagine you have been excited for this game. The expansion to FF XIV will expand the world of Eorzea, Coerthas Central Highlands and the Sea of Clouds. It also offers new races and classes.

There is so much new stuff that I possibly couldn’t fit it all into this game. New worlds means new creatures, and possibly new modes of transportation. There is an increased level cap to 60, and several new dungeons for you to engage in along the way to that new level.

If you’re a fan of the game, you probably are already on your way to playing this game. Seeing all the new stuff that the game contains will be quite exciting.

No one shall be spared or overlooked.

5. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Time to advance this war one step further.

Stepping into a brand new storyline, players will be working for a paramilitary organization that will work to save the world and answers to no one. But of course, that means the head can do whatever he wants, which may be bad in most cases. This is an exception though because the head of this organization is voiced by Kevin Spacey.

The campaign is loads of un, but it’s not the only new aspect in this game. In the multiplayer, you will be fitted with an exo-suit that will allow you to soar across the battlefield. Now you’ll be flying like an eagle and shooting like a badass action hero in every match.

The Zombie game mode that Call of Duty players are used to are also got an upgrade, yet another fact that makes Advanced Warfare loads of fun. Just seeing how much the exo-suit changes how you play the game is reason enough to play this game.

War is a full-contact sport.

4. World of Warcraft (WoW)

Possibly one of the most famous online games ever, World of Warcraft has created a living, breathing world that millions of players inhabit every day. Based on the lore first introduced in the WarCraft games, WoW brings tons of content of players, already putting out five games in the series already.

Everyone will start out as choosing a race, picking between the righteous Alliance and the more confederate Horde, and finishing by selecting from a dozen or so classes. After that, the world is pretty much open to do as you wish. Level up, get cool armor, pick up a trait, raid dungeons, take on the opposing faction, participate in holiday events or just dance.

World of Warcraft is free for everyone up until you hit level 20. That means there is no reason to get on and see what millions of others are already experiencing. After that, you can decide whether you want to pay $15 a month or not.

3. Counter-Strike: GO

All that, AND cross-platform play?!

Fans of the original Counter-Strike will have already bene playing this latest game in the series. The fast-paced, five versus five, gameplay has only gotten better with new characters, weapons and updated game modes. What has already bene good has gotten better.

For those unfamiliar to the series, and if so shame on you, players will play as either a terrorist or counter-terrorist and take part of a number of game modes (Team Deathmatch, Elimination, Hostages or Bomb planting). At the beginning of the match, every player will either have to pick out their weapons and equipment or will be choosing from an established load out. You’ll get more money your opponent and completing the objective, which are what you would expect a terrorist or counter-terrorist to have to do.

Do you like fast-paced games that have you saving lives or ruining them? Do you do well at Call of Duty and have an itchy trigger-finger. Then perhaps you need to be playing Counter-Strike: GO if you aren’t already.

I don't think this is a good direction to go towards.

2. Heroes of The Storm

The crossover universe just keeps getting bigger.

Heroes of The Storm is the new MOBA put out by Blizzard. It features characters from across all of Blizzard’s games, including Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft. All the maps will be based on places in those game universes, so this sounds like a beautiful crossover of memorable characters from a great company.

Like any MOBA, HOTS has multiple roles that every player will be able to play. If you’re a veteran of MOBA games, then you should be able to do great in this game once you have your champion of choice figured out. Each map will also have side-quests that players can do to give them an upper hand against the enemy, so nothing new to make Heroes of The Storm stand out from others in its genre.

If you are a fan of any of Blizzard’s games, then you should look into giving this game a shot. Even if it’s not the type of game you normally will play, who wouldn’t want to watch some of your favorite Blizzard characters fighting each other?

DOTA 2 is perhaps the most popular MOBA game out today. Hosting thousands of tournaments, where participants can earn cash prizes, and also laying the groundwork for other games like it can build upon. It’s been five years since this game has been out, but it is still going strong.

For those unfamiliar with the game, DOTA 2 has you selecting from a large selection of champions, all who fit somewhere within five roles needed to succeed in the game, and work with four other characters to destroy the enemy nexus. Standing between you and that goal are waves of minions, defensive towers and five other human-controlled champions. You’ll need to use your champion’s skills, teamwork, and items that boost your champion’s effectiveness that are purchased from the shop at your starting point.

What makes DOTA 2 worth playing after all this time is that there is so much popularity around the game. Assemble a team and work well together and there could be a cash prize in it for you. The game promotes teamwork and a lot of tactical thinking, so you can really become a great gamer through playing this.

If it's too quiet, that's a bad sign.

Ori and the Blind Forest Gameplay: 10 Interesting Facts About This Awesome Game

It’s a Game You Never Knew You Needed until Now

Ori and the Blind forest has been met with critical acclaim after its release back in March. The game started out small and grew over four years to be the gorgeous culmination of storytelling, setting, characters, music, and design it is today. The game ranks high among all fans.

It’s a coming-of-age story that takes a lot of its inspiration from video games and movies from the early nineties. Moon Studios wanted to bring that “old-video-game” feel to a new generation of gamers; and oh, how they have succeeded.

Now, I’m going to tell you the most important things you should know about this awesome game.

1. You are a Forest Spirit

And you are absolutely adorable.

Ori is cute and fluffy, and he brings light to his surroundings. However, Ori is also powerful. As you level up, you gain the ability to shoot spirit flames, which become your primary means of getting past enemies and gaining collectables.

While you have been orphaned, you are part of the forest, Nibel. You are vital to Nibel’s survival. Your job is to bring the light back to the “blinded” forest and bring hope to the forest’s inhabitants.

2. The Characters Have Personality

Ori kind of looks like Pikachu. Ori’s companion, Sein, kind of looks like Navi.

While you may look like Pikachu, you are not Pikachu. Similarly, Sein is not Navi—for more reasons than one. Ori and Sein have their own personalities that are developed throughout the game.

Ori and the Blind Forest doesn’t have a lot of characters and the ones it does have are fully developed. Ori starts the game as a child. But within the first few minutes of the game, Ori starts to show empathy, determination, and care for Naru.

Naru is a motherly figure, who took Ori in as her own. Naru and Ori have a sweet and kind relationship at the start of the game. Ori and Naru are fully-developed characters that you truly start to care about.

Even Kuro, the enemy, has reasons for her actions and is not simply a flat character.

3. You Connect with the Characters through the Storytelling

Ori and Naru as their home dies around them.

See, that’s the thing, Ori and the Blind Forest makes you care about the characters from the start. As you pass through the “n00b questing” at the beginning of the game, your heartstrings get tugged on by Ori, Naru, and their life around them. You haven’t just learned the controls, you’ve grown supremely attached to the characters.

You are sad alongside Ori when Naru dies as the famine persists. You can see how lost Ori is after that point. And that’s when the game truly begins.

4. The Prologue Sets up the Story

Within the first 10 minutes of the game, you have a pretty good idea what you’re up for. The backstory of the game—or, all you need to know about it at this point—has all been laid out for you. Your setting, characters, and objective are all given to you.

The rest of the game can then be spent mastering the controls you’ve been introduced to. You can explore the vast world, learn more about the characters, and complete your objectives. Ori and the Blind Forest has an overarching story, it’s not just a set of controls and a sidescroller.

You legitimately care about how this one ends.

5. The New Objective: Restoring the Forest

Ori and Kuro.

Now, your goal is to restore the Water, Winds, and Warmth to the Forest. You must search for these elements scattered all throughout the maze of forest scenes. Naturally, on your way, you gather collectables that help you level up so you can keep traversing Nibel.

You’ll need to gather Key Stones to unlock different areas of map. Sein, another spirit whom you meet along the way, helps you out by telling you about the gameplay and giving you tips and tricks. Your overall objective is to restore life to the dying forest around you.

As the game moves along, you find out how the forest came to be “blinded.” Kuro, a spirit who takes the shape of an owl, grows angry at the light of the forest when it accidentally kills some of her children. She then begins to act menacingly towards Ori because Ori of what Ori is doing.

Thus, in addition to restoring the light, Ori must go up against Kuro.

6. The Irony behind the Forest Being Blinded

The Spirit Tree lights the skies ablaze.

There is a cruel irony to Ori’s predicament after Naru dies. Originally, when Ori became lost to the Spirit Tree, Naru found him and began raising him as her own. All was well until the Spirit Tree called out to Ori to bring him home because the Spirit Tree was under distress.

The light got Ori’s attention, but Naru was scared of the light and hid them both from it. Meanwhile, the light that night kills Kuro’s children, so she becomes vindictive towards it. She attacks the Spirit Tree, which is what purges the land of the light and blinds the forest.

The ensuing famine is what eventually kills Naru and sends Ori out on his own. Had Naru let Ori investigate the light originally, perhaps Kuro’s children would have lived and the famine would not have happened.

7. Sidescroller Meets Dungeon-Crawler

This video demonstrates the feel of the game and the seamless transitions of frames.

It looks and sometimes acts like a sidescroller or a dungeon-crawler, because that’s what the developers at Moon Studios wanted it to do. It took pages out of the books of Metroid and Legend of Zelda in order to bring about the feel of earlier video games.

However, what Ori and the Blind Forest also does is add in the RPG elements of story-telling and exploration. The gameplay doesn’t just take you from left to right endlessly. Oftentimes, you find yourself going right to left, then down, then left to right, then back up again as you figure out all the nooks and crannies of the forest.

During escape sequences, the screen moves seamlessly even as you travel to the edge of the left side of the screen, only to show back up on the right side. It’s sidescroller meets dungeon-crawler meets the 21^st century.

8. Timing is Everything

The controls are fairly intuitive from the beginning, but they are only easy at the beginning. As the game progresses, you must get more and more precise in your keystrokes or button presses. Mistimed actions can lead to death very quickly.

That’s not to say Ori and the Blind Forest is hard, but it does certainly harken back to the old days of gaming where you had to play a section over and over again until you had the timing exactly right. At least in the case of Ori, you can create Soul Links, which are Save and Check Points wherever you want if you have the stats for it, to enable you to save right after you’ve crossed a difficult section.

9. The Sound Effects

Sound designers have a blast making the sound effects for Ori and the Blind Forest.
The sound designers really went all out on this one. The video above shows clips from recording sessions as they create the sounds for one of the characters: Gumo.

The rustling in the rocks and sand will match the character’s movement on the screen. The voice will be adjusted to be the voice of the character. The clip is only a teaser of sorts, but it really goes to show just how much love and care went into this game.

10. 4 Years of Hard Work

Moon Studios is technically located all over the place. Designers and programmers have been connecting from all over the world for the past four years to put this game together. Originally, it started in Thomas Mahler’s basement.

Thomas Mahler previously worked with Blizzard Entertainment. But he, along with the other developers of Ori and the Blind Forest crafted the game on the Unity platform with pixel perfect precision. After that, artists got together for the landscapes and musicians were pulled together for the music.

And thus, Ori was knit together piece by piece.
